Best park in the world. You can spend days and hours here and every time you walk through it’s a new experience. Love grabbing breakfast and coffee and taking a walk. Sometimes through the Rambles and sometimes by Strawberry Fields. Love people watching and love watching the rowers on the lake. Beautiful scenery and perfect picture taking.

Central Park was 🤩 it’s just like the pictures you recognize where the movies take place and it brings you back makes you feel part of the moves, for some reason the street noise is also blocked you can forget your in a city 🌆 unless you look at the buildings, but it’s beautiful the birds 🦢 chirp, and dogs 🐶walked the horses 🐎 also get their exercise it’s really cool to see a very active park, I thought it would be big empty, and scary but it’s a nice busy, tidy, clean and it was easy to find the things I was looking for!! It’s impressive to look out and see the line of trees against the buildings on the other side!

Honest review from a tourist: There’s more exploring than you could handle in a single day. I think if you took your time 3 days could be enough time to really explore it without rushing through it. It’s a great spot to find some nature in the middle of this massive city. Honest one of my favorite things in the city. If you liked this review please hit the like and or follow button. Have a great day!!!!

I mean it’s Central Park! Listen, I was optimistic about ever going to the city, but the opportunity can about and I jumped on it. Best decision ever!! It’s only something I feel can be experienced in person. Pictures do not do justice! Central Park was amazing! It’s crazy how you can be in the park and not hear the city at all beside a faint siren, but other than that you almost forget your in a big city…. Walked it from top to bottom and still did not see everything. Plenty of places to sit down and relax and just take it all in… Listen, if you have ever thought about going… DO IT!! I did a bus trip from Bowman bus services and was not disappointed at all. Make the trip!

We saw only a small area of Central Park but we had a nice peaceful walk. Nice change of pace after walking through Manhattan. It's currently February but I can't wait until summer time to come back.

If you want to just walk freely around and check cool places and chill, or do sport, or play games, or even study, I think Central Park, as iconic as it is, is just a perfect place. Unfortunately the running track along the reservoir was closed for maintenance and upgrade but it was fairly easy to access still.

This will be our favorite park. I and my wife visited New York for the first time, and a walk to Central Park was our must- see. A walk through the park provides a view of all the stunning buildings on Fifth Avenue. The park is full of trees and great monuments, fountains etc. I think everything looked most beautiful in the winter sun,now on January! We spent a lovely afternoon there with take-out coffee. A place like from a fairy tale, and I will always remember this weekend trip.

If you need a space to admire nature and spend some time disconnected. It has a beautiful view surrounded by emblematic skyscrapers. This is an ideal space to visit alone or with family. You will fall in love with Central Park, the most famous and beautiful I have ever known. I recommend it 100%.

Hands down, one of the best parks that I've ever been to. Central Park is not only big but also that something for everyone. I love to just walk around and take in the sights. It's a beautiful park with lots of activities and many scenic spots that are just simply breathtaking. It brings me back to many scenes I've seen in movies. Central Park is definitely a must when I visit.

Me and my wife enjoyed our trip to NYC back in Jan 2018. It was unfortunately our last trip (she passed April 13, 2018. NH lymphoma (cancer) .....just shy of her 33rd birthday. I’ll always cherish that trip. Central Park is about 500x better then expected. I really recommend it if you’ve never gone!

What can I even say about this magnificent place. Iconic, obviously, but also with so many things to do, see, take pictures of and experience. Just jogging with this amazing view is unforgettable. So many musicians performing near or underneath bridges, chubby squirrels running around, people in bridal attire and so.many.amazing.dogs!!!! The place is very easy to reach by Subway, Columbus Circle is the easiest way to get to the most epic sites. Get ready to walk, but a pizza pretzel and enjoy NY

During my visit to New York City, I had the opportunity to explore Central Park multiple times. I was fortunate to stay nearby, making it easily accessible. Despite my repeated visits, I couldn't cover the entire park. Let me emphasize, it's vast! The park welcomes visitors from 6AM until around 1AM, and every time I was there, it was bustling with people. I witnessed runners, walkers, cyclists, and those enjoying horse-drawn carriage rides. People relished the scenery, practiced yoga, observed birds, engaged in art activities like drawing and painting, and, of course, there were plenty of tourists. In addition to its trees and open spaces, Central Park boasts numerous statues to admire and places to grab refreshments, such as Tavern on the Green. The park offers an abundance of opportunities to relax and enjoy its beauty, with numerous benches and even rocky outcrops for those who prefer them. A visit here is absolutely essential. Despite exploring a considerable distance within the park, again I couldn't cover it all. The views of the towering skyscrapers are a unique NYC experience, and the best part is, there's no entrance fee to enjoy Central Park. It's a beautiful place to unwind and simply watch the world go by. Depending on the season, you can find a plethora of activities to partake in. Central Park is also home to a variety of wildlife, including birds, squirrels, and much more to discover.

What can I say about Central Park. I love it so much I got married there. The trees and flowers are starting to bloom and they bring paint strokes of color to the gray park. But like I said I found that stroke of color and recommend going to see it for yourself. Oh and I saw a raccoon in the park. Sound strange but it is a park. And a beautiful one at that.

On a short visit to New York and could have easily spent the week in the park! It really was different everyday and so much to see. On a Sunday it was jam packed with runners and cyclists, a lot calmer rest of week. There were always squirrels, very cute squirrels! A beautiful calm relaxing space to spend time. Lots of dog walkers ( all the dogs seemed really well behaved too!) Plenty of carts to buy snacks to keep you going and lots of different trails to try. If you have the time, the Met is on the edge of the park and Central Park Zoo is in it too.

Beautiful place to walk around and enjoy. Would highly recommend going on a drizzly day as it was so much more empty and enjoyable. The rocks and nature here are such a breath of fresh air if you're not used to city life too.

It is rather challenging to adequately convey the enchanting and enthralling characteristics of Central Park through the written word alone. With a seemingly infinite number of foot & bike paths that weave & wind their way through a vast expanse of towering trees, foliage, fields, and greenery of all kinds. Central Park is very much a place that must be experienced first hand in order to fully take in all the charm and splendor it has to offer.

Central Park, New York, New York. What a wonderful visit we had here! We hired a guide on the big trikes who drove us around, shared the park history and allowed us plenty of time at the key stops. We participated in (watched) a professional flash mob set up a wedding proposal that was touching and beautiful. We visited the Strawberry Fields memorial to John Lennon by Yoko Ono, a poignant and thoughtful experience. Had all the buildings around the perimeter of note, noted. It was a beautiful spring day and this visit with a guide was one of our many high points of our ten day visit. You'll love the park!

Central Park in winter is like stepping into a snowy fairy tale. Sure, the trees might be bare and the ground covered in snow, but there’s a magic in the air that’s hard to resist. First off, the snow! It blankets everything in sight, turning the park into a winter wonderland. It's like a scene straight out of a holiday movie. But if you’re more into low-key vibes, a stroll through the park is just as awesome. The trees might be bare, but there’s something serene about it. Plus, you might even spot some wildlife doing their thing in the snow. Central Park in winter might not have the greenery of summer, but it’s got its own charm that’s totally worth experiencing. Trust me, you won’t regret bundling up and exploring this winter wonderland.

Very popular spot. Very nice for children with the huge playground. The lake and ducks are very cute. The view is magical in the center of the city. One of the best attraction. There is ice skating during winter.

Central Park is an absolute gem, and I love this place. If I ever return to New York, it's a spot I'd revisit, no matter how many times I've been. It's a destination that's always worth the visit. One of the best plans is to explore it from one end to the other. I once walked from the north to the south, taking around three to four hours, with breaks for photos. I highly recommend trying out the new app they have, which provides a fascinating way to enhance your experience. It offers insights into the history and significance of specific points within Central Park, enriching your visit. What I appreciate about Central Park is that it's a sanctuary of calm amidst the bustling city. When I visited, it was relatively uncrowded, with people jogging and families strolling. It's a refreshing escape from the usual city chaos. There are so many fantastic spots to discover; I couldn't even see them all on my last visit. You can explore on foot, or even rent a Citibank bike to cover more ground. Regardless of how you choose to explore, Central Park is a must-visit. It's a fantastic, free activity that's an integral part of any New York trip.

We have lived in NYC for more than 50 years and never tire of visiting Central Park at any time of the year. There is so much to do and see from lazing or playing ball on the extensive lawns to skating on the rinks to people watching at the fountains to the free concerts held at various locations.

One of the best parks in New York and quite possibly one of the best parks that I've ever been to. Central Park is not only big but it's also a park that has something for everyone. I've been in Central Park for biking, walking, hiking, or just simply exploring. It's a beautiful park with lots of activities and many scenic spots that are just simply breathtaking. Maybe that's why I always spot people taking wedding/engagement photos there. Central Park is definitely an iconic spot in New York.

One of New York's biggest gems. A beautiful park right in the middle of Manhattan. It is a must visit for every tourist coming here. You can spend hours walking around the park. Central Park, a verdant oasis amidst the bustling urban landscape of New York City, offers an extraordinary escape into nature. As I strolled through its lush greenery, I marveled at the juxtaposition of a sprawling jungle in the heart of the metropolis. The park's expansive beauty instantly captivated me, providing a serene backdrop for my jog. The experience was nothing short of amazing, as I navigated the winding paths surrounded by towering trees and vibrant flora. The fresh air was a welcome respite, a stark contrast to the city's usual hustle and bustle. The sight of people engaging in various forms of exercise created a motivating atmosphere, encouraging me to push my own limits. Jogging along the park's well-maintained trails became a rejuvenating journey, both for the body and the mind. The diverse scenery, from the iconic Bethesda Terrace to the peaceful Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, added a layer of visual splendor to my workout. It's not just a park; it's a dynamic haven where nature, fitness, and urban life seamlessly converge. Central Park is a testament to the city's commitment to preserving green spaces and fostering a sense of well-being. Whether you're a jogger, nature enthusiast, or someone seeking a tranquil retreat, this iconic park delivers an unforgettable experience, making it an essential gem in the heart of New York City.

This is a very wonderful park in New York City. This park is really huge and has many sections. The place is really lively with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. Worth visit!!! One of my favourite park worldwide. Some history: Central Park is an urban park in New York City located between the Upper West and Upper East Sides of Manhattan. It is the fifth-largest park in the city by area, covering 843 acres (341 ha). It is the most visited urban park in the United States with an estimated 38 million visitors annually, and is the most filmed location in the world.

The most iconic park in N.Y.C. The first snow storm this year, created a winter wonderland. The lake was not frozen, it was in "slushy" condition. The snow created an artistic piece of art. Plenty of people enjoying themselves. Most were wearing masks and social distance was followed. I definitely recommend this park.

Now this is what all parks around the world aspire to be like. To have such a lush extensive area within NYC is already amazing. Add on the different activity areas, dedicated walking and biking routes and you could very well spend an entire day here. The grounds were clean and well manicured and it was very easy to arrive via the subway.

Central Park is out of this world! My favorite part of my New York trip was biking the beautiful bike path of Central Park. It is a one way road, for BIKES! I would get my food in my backpack and find a nice calm area to sit and eat. Enjoying the beautiful scenery and tranquility is something everyone needs to experience at least once in their lives. The Park is EXTREMELY clean considering the massive size and location within a concrete jungle. Bethesda Fountain is a marvel and such a beautiful area!

THIS PLACE IS UNBELIEVABLE!! I took a trip to New York with Central Park in mind. Thinking I could take a stroll, grab some photography, and enjoy the largest park New York has to offer. Once again, I was wrong!!! I'm getting quite good at that...... This park is HUGE!!! Do not come here thinking that you can see everything Central Park has to offer by foot. I didn't have the time nor the energy. I arrived at the park around 10 a.m., and around 1 p.m., I was almost at the halfway point. I'm so disappointed in myself!! Got to do better!! This park offers a plethora of pros with almost zero cons. The first thing I noticed and loved was that vehicles are NOT PERMITTED. Only authorized city vehicles. If you don't wish to walk, horse-drawn carriages can take you around the park for a fee. There's fields for picnicking, rocks to climb, carrasels to ride, trails to walk, scenery to enjoy with great skyline views, a zoo to enjoy, and thousands of steps to accumulate. Simply put........... it's worth it in every way, but please don't make my mistake. Give yourself time to enjoy everything. As always, this is the epitome of family-friendly places. I recommend Central Park for families, couples on an outing, and groups of ALL ages. There is something for everyone to enjoy here. Enjoy the photos, and I hope you can create an amazing experience of your own!!

We have visited Central Park several times and even though it is always crowded, there is something charming about it! The 2 fountains are really pretty and are great spots for photos. The horse carriage ride is overpriced but fun to try once. The park is so large that we discover new parts of it each time we go - the zoo was a new find and looked like it attracted a lot of kids. There is amazing music, dance or shows happening in different parts of Central Park every day, especially on weekends! The park looks really pretty in the fall and is definitely worth a visit.

What a beautiful place! I was absolutely impressed! Looked a lot different than I imagined! A great place to take in nature, look back at the city and get some good pics, and I think I seen an ice rink too! Could’ve spent a lot more time in here than we actually got to do!

This park is pretty good in central New York, and it’s massive. There are many things to do, and the people are playing music. There were so many small shops selling so much stuff like a gift, and they were like, I love it! There are so many musicians playing the tune. Excellent painting. There is so much to do in this place if you live nearby. It’s a perfect place to run in the morning.

In a bustling city like New York, the tranquility of Central Park offers a welcome escape from the outside world. With its serene atmosphere and extensive running tracks, you can jog for miles undisturbed. Although the occasional loose dogs were bothersome, they didn't detract from the overall ambiance.

So many things going on! This was write a different feel from the small town suburbs around Kansas City. There were corporate softball games, kids playing on the playground, hundreds of runners and cyclists, a classical music concert, people having picnics, buskers, artists, and people just taking everything in as I was. The great thing was the relaxed, friendly and way going attitude of EVERYONE! This truly is an incredibly unique place that you must visit when in NYC.

Central Park. Ah, Central Park… The most famous park in the world, darling of locals and tourists and one of the most exciting places in New York. But being enchanted by this piece of paradise is as easy as getting lost in it. After all, they are nothing more, nothing less than 340 hectares or 153 blocks of a lot of green, beauty and incredible attractions. The park is in the center of Manhattan and runs from 59th to 110th Street, between 8th Avenue to the west and 5th Avenue to the east. The avenues that line the park are known as Central Park North, Central Park South and Central Park West. Only 5th Avenue keeps its name. To help with the location, you can buy a map inside the park itself or download the Central Park app, which has maps, GPS to show your location, information about attractions and much more.

Even As a native to New York , there are still many hidden ‘treasures’ you can find in the city — such as Central Park. Although I’ve been here countless times , there’s something about sitting on a bench and reading a book , or watching the birds. Be sure to check out the ice skating rink - as it is open ! Before you go , be sure to check the weather . I recommend bringing along some snacks and a blanket . Enjoy!

Central Park, the garden oasis in NYC. Spent a good hour walking through the southern half of the park. Great trails, views and vantage points for plenty of photos. There are pockets of activities throughout and plenty of flora and fauna to record, capture or sketch. Bike trails are paved and we'll marked. The ponds were off limits due to algae and bacteria that are at it's highest levels Families of all ages will enjoy a stop to take in the great NYC skyline.

Of all the places in New York City that one can visit, Central Park is the one place that I truly wanted to go. All my life I've seen it in movies and on TV. I've heard about its history and its importance to the city and in this visit I was finally able to get there and it certainly didn't disappoint. Whether people think of it as the heart or the lungs or some other organ of New York City, I can't imagine that this city could exist as it does today without the availability of Central Park as an escape for New Yorkers. I gave myself a day and half to be explore the park and I Loved every minute of it. I started out by buying some Nathan's hot dogs and heading into the park to find a nice big field to have lunch in and watch the people around me. It was great. I ended just sitting and people watching for about 3 hours. On day one I walked up the west side of the park and on day two, I entered at the northeast corner and walked down. I saw the Lennon Memorial, walked the ramble and around the reservoir. I visited Bethesda Terrace and listed to an opera singer and walked down the mall where so many movies have been filmed. I crossed the Bow Bridge went to the waterfall. All I can say is that Central Park is officially my favorite place in New York. Give yourself time to explore it and take the it all in.

This gorgeous oasis is a must-see in the sky-scraper filled city that is New York. It is huge. There are hills, massive rocks, old trees, local musicians, ponds, horse-drawn carriages, grassy fields, historic monuments, live events and free shows. The list goes on. There is something for everyone here, whether you are going for a casual run, picnic-ing, seeking entertainment or looking for people.

I think New York exploration must start with this park. A lot of playgrounds is suitable for walking with kidds. You can walk with your dog here too. Don't worry about restrooms, they are. The park is surrounded by several museums that you can visit. There are many free parking lots on Sunday.

Amazing for night time outdoor activities. While it locates right inside the bright and busy city, there is a quiet place with full of big tree to walk under. You feel the fresh air to recharge after a busy working day. It’s totally a great effort to keep the park when a lots of buildings are built high around that extremely expensive area.

The pandemic allowed me to fall back in love with the amazing Central Park. As my playground for the past 18 years, there are so many things I could say about it. The often visited South portion is filled with iconic locations often seen in TV and film. The North is surprisingly beautiful, quiet and decorated with quite a few hidden waterfalls. Don't skip either side; take your time; and don't be afraid to venture off the path. Have fun. (Note: pics are obviously not current and taken from the past couple years.)

As seen on TV! This place is great because of its importance to a city like New York. This enables New Yorkers to relax and step out of the city and relax. This is also a great place to walk around and get lost as all the paths bend and it feels like a labyrinth. This is change from the city which is just straight lines. Such parks are a necessity in large cities such as New York.

I love Central Park. It is the finest park in an urban setting you will find anywhere in the world. From the Kennedy Reservoir north you will find expansive green fields, groves of gorgeous trees, a botanical garden, nice terrain, incredible beauty and quiet. South of the Reservoir is also striking in its beauty and activities. It's more lively with more diversions. There is something for everyone. And every season offers its own surprises and rewards. Maybe it was the area of the park we walked through, but I was a bit underwhelmed with Central Park. I know it's huge and maybe if we had an exact destination, I'd feel differently, but I just didn't love walking for miles on a gravel pathway and not having access to any bathrooms because they were all locked. We did find a garden section that was quite gorgeous. All in all, I recommend determining exactly what you want to see and where to find it before trekking through lots of gravel.

Perfect for locals and tourists alike, there's something for everyone, all the time. From quiet areas of the Ramble to the ponds and ice rinks and races, it really is like having an 843-acre backyard! We especially love off-leash hours before 9 on weekends.

Central Park is an absolute gem in the heart of New York City, and early fall is the perfect time to experience its enchanting beauty. Exploring the park on a city bike is a must-do; you can rent one at various locations nearby. The crisp, cool weather in early fall is ideal for leisurely rides, and the park's well-maintained pathways make for a smooth journey. As you pedal through the park, the stunning landscapes reveal themselves at every turn. The colorful foliage creates a picturesque backdrop, and the meandering paths take you through a variety of scenes, from open meadows to tranquil ponds. The park's diverse range of trees, from the famous elms to oak and maple, paint a vivid tapestry of autumn hues. For those who prefer to explore on foot, Central Park offers endless walking opportunities. You can stroll along the winding paths, enjoying the tranquility and the refreshing crisp air. The park's design includes charming bridges, fountains, and sculptures that add to its charm. One of the park's highlights is its rich wildlife. You'll encounter beautiful birds, like red-tailed hawks and vibrant cardinals, and curious squirrels scurrying about. The Central Park Zoo is a delightful stop to see a variety of animals up close. Central Park's tranquility and natural beauty provide a haven for relaxation. Find a quiet spot near the water, like the iconic Bethesda Terrace, and unwind while admiring the serene scenery. In summary, Central Park in early fall is a magical experience. Whether you're biking, walking, or simply lounging, the park's diverse landscapes, animals, and foliage make it an urban oasis like no other. Don't miss the chance to revel in its splendor during this season.

Such an amazing oasis in the middle of a bustling city… the walks around the park are varied and the landscape beautiful.. the zoo is fantastic and there are so many natural features such as rockscapes and meadows that you could forget you were in the city at all. Lots of benches to sit and watch dog walkers and families enjoying this beautiful park.

We have to admit that Central Park is World Famous. It may be because of the many movies that displayed the park and all, however, the Park deserves the praise. Fortunately, I've been to NYC and Central Park in different stations of the year. The park is beautiful during the summer when the city is vibrant and most people are walking, exercising, and enjoying the park. The Fall and Spring are so enjoyable too because the weather isn't excessively hot, so it becomes a great time to enjoy picnics, strolls, and much more. Last, but not least, in the Winter was when I was surprised, because I thought it would be very empty due to the cold weather and snow, but to my fortunate surprise, I saw many people enjoying the scenery that Central becomes during Winter time as well. To sum up, in my opinion, regardless of when you go visit NY, definitely go check the park out. It's worth it. There are so many tracks/trails you can walk and explore the touristic and not so much touristic spots.

I only went through half of Central Park but what I did see was impressive. I imagine this would look very atmospheric walking through In Autumn when the leaves start to change colors. The bridges were very nice to walk across and seeing skyscrapers from the park was a very unique perspective

Amazing place for New York and i really loved it. I wish i had time to do picnic but i only had few hours. If it's your first time in New York don't go central park as a first. See around and when you bored of big buildings you should visit this park. Because this place will make you forget it.

I loved the experience. Such a big and beautiful park right in the middle of the city. It gives you a place to praise natural beauty and gives you a scenic city skyline view. You can get your family here for a day long picnic. You will find here artists, singers, dancers and many more performing.

Central Park! One of the most beautiful parks to visit. Winter, spring, summer or fall; walking around this famous NYC park is always a pleasure. Playgrounds for kids to play; nice big rocks to climb on; fields to run through; even an ice rink to skate in the winter. Next time you visit the Big Apple, don't forget to visit Central Park. It will win you over!

As an elopement photographer, being entrusted with capturing Ana and Kyle's intimate ceremony at Bethesda Terrace was a truly heartwarming experience. From the moment I met the couple, I could sense the love and excitement that filled the air. Bethesda Terrace provided the most stunning backdrop for Ana and Kyle's elopement. With its iconic architecture and tranquil surroundings in Central Park, every moment felt like a scene from a fairytale. As a photographer, I had the privilege of documenting the genuine emotions and tender moments shared between Ana and Kyle. From the nervous anticipation before the ceremony to the joyous celebration afterward, every photograph captured the essence of their love and commitment to each other. Ana and Kyle's elopement was a beautiful reminder that love knows no bounds. Despite the simplicity of their ceremony, the love and happiness radiating from the couple were palpable and infectious. As the sun began to set over Bethesda Terrace, casting a warm glow over the park, I couldn't help but feel grateful to be a part of such a special day. Ana and Kyle's elopement was a celebration of love in its purest form, and I feel honored to have been able to capture it all. To Ana and Kyle, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey. Your love story is a beautiful testament to the power of love, and I'm grateful to have been able to document it for you. Warm regards, Andrew Allen Andrew Allen Media

Central Park, largest and most important public park in Manhattan, New York City. It occupies an area of 840 acres (340 hectares) and extends between 59th and 110th streets and between Fifth and Eighth avenues . It was one of the first American parks to be developed using landscapearchitecture techniques.

What’s a big difference a year ago and now. I was lucky enough to have a US trip last year (especially spending several days in Big Apple). It’s almost impossible to plan any US tour soon! Went to Central Park after riding the wagon. Laying on the soft grass, relaxing and watching the Big Apple’s sky. You can really feel that the Central Oark is indeed, the forest (jungle) in a big city. It was so peaceful to breathe the fresh air in the park, mingling yourself completely into the fabulous view, the gorgeous atmosphere. Hopefully, can go back to lay on the Central Park’s grass land soon.

The park is ideal for any activity. Depending on the season, a visit to the ice skating ring, or navigate The Lake in a row boat, or see a wild animal at the zoo, are the few things that could be done. For a chance to explore 6.1 miles of paved road around the park, bicycle rentals are available at the park's entrance, or just go on and explore the path on foot. Join a group of bird watchers for a chance to spot some of the shy ones (birds). Or hike miles and miles of park's trails, consisting of lesser foot traffic. Walk besides the statues of some of the great minds that have broken through oppressive norms of social construct, paving the way for the rest of us, and advancing human civilization through arts, literature and thought, getting us a step closer to individual freedom. As you continue with your navigating, all around you'll find exposed bedrock protruding from the ground up, where else in the city it is mostly hidden behind the concrete. Clime on top of one of those exposed rocks and you'll find distinctive patterns common through most of them. The markings came as a result of a fairly recent Glacier ice sheet that began to form around 1.6 Million years ago, in the Eastern Canadian region, growing and expanding into this vicinity over a period of time, until recently. Currently geologists estimate that this and surrounding area was covered by a 250 meters (820 feet) of densely packed sheet of ice. Now, picture the exposed bedrocks being under this massive ice sheet, measuring from the ground up all the way to the 75 floor of the Empire State Building, slowly moving and grinding at everything it comes in contact with. Embedded within the ice are rocks of all sizes that were picked up by the ice as it kept advancing. Smaller dust like grains smooth out the rock as the ice slides over it, polishing it so that to the touch it feels as smooth as silk. Larger rocks embedded in ice dig in and scrape away at the surface of the rocks it slides over them, leaving parallel striations in the direction of the movement. There are also, mostly not native to this area, are large boulders, also known as glacial erratics, that were once picked up somewhere and transported by the Glacier for hundreds of miles before being scattered all throughout this area. After long walks, if you are in need of a break, there are indoor places to dine in, as well as food carts to grab a bite at. Catch a concert, a play, or listen to local park musicians (some are good, others need more practice). Or stroll through the Strawberry Field, sit around the Garden of Peace and Imagine. It isn’t hard to do. The exploration throughout the park doesn’t stop on this, as it would be impossible to list all of the activities to do. And don’t forget to check which ones are seasonal activities.

People watching Paradise. If you are looking for cheap entertainment, head on down to Central Park. For no cost to you, you can enjoy the entire spectrum of humanity within one hour. Sane or crazy, big, small, wide, thin, decent, vulgar, it’s all here in public display.

The ongoing pandemic has definitely taken a toll on a lot of businesses and public places since a consumer’s mindset to buy anything outside of essentials or to visit a public place like a park or beach, has crippled down significantly. Now by living with what has become the new normal, it is commendable on how these businesses and public places continue to remain open and cater to the general public by following the safety standards. It is now all the more important that we as customers, support these heroes during these dark hours to mankind. People who visit NYC are mostly asked if they have visited the Times Square, Empire State or the WTC, but not this beauty of a park - Central Park! In the world’s busiest urban setting, there lies this historical park that goes across the length and breadth across the ‘heart’ of NYC and literally serves as the Lungs of NYC. Getting here was a dream come true moment for me. I’ve watched Central Park in some of the South Indian movies when I was back in India and even in the Netflix series ‘You’ and never thought I would be able to walk around the same places, in real life. The park has people from all walks of life walking, playing and jogging around. Even the famous Central Park squirrels know the norms of Social distancing and stayed a distance apart, while gathering all they can before the winter sets in. The park still had traces of Autumn left in it and I only wished I had got here a month back. In all honesty, I was not able to cover all of this massive urban greenery in one visit and would love to do more of it across all seasons, in the coming months. This place in no doubt is a Photographer’s dream destination. If you are here and need a break from the bustling NYC setting, grab a lunch and spend some time in this beautiful park.

Even in winter, the park is a relaxing place to be. It's a break from the noise, smells and congestion of NYC. I found a public restroom open in the park during Covid days. Hard, wet park benches are a fact of life in the colder months so bring a towel to sit on. Tavern on the Green restaurant was closed until further notice (Dec 2020)

A green Oasis in the center of New York. From a tall building like the Rockefeller Center you can see the dimesnions. Just one of the hidden gems in Central Park. Absolutely gorgeous, serene, and so peaceful. A beautiful section dedicated to the author of The Little Princess and The Secret Garden. A great place to take a stroll from the Corporate Skyscrapers, to relax and enjoy nature right in the city. It has a lot to offer, with artists performing, nature sounds and the bustling city right besides the park. But make sure to visit during daytime before evening.

Central Park is incredible! It really is the heart of NY. A very tasty vibe! It is beautiful it is HUGE !! You have the possibility to get to know it on foot, which may take a little longer but it creates a kind of experience, which will be different if you wanted to ride a bike there. It is full of cultural activities, exhibitions, presentations, music, EVERYTHING! Very clean, charming and with the face of NY. Really a green and calm spot on the Concrete Jungle. Filming and cultural activities are common in the park, which makes everything even more incredible. Coincidentally, I was walking around and I followed the recording of the wedding closely

Beautiful park! Can't come to NY without taking a stroll in Central Park. If I lived in NY, I might be motivated to start running if I could run through this park. I came during the fall so you could see the leaves starting to change to it's vibrant colors. This park is always very lively. There was a few street performances happening throughout the park. There were also artists painting by the water, photo shoots taking places, and vendor stands everywhere. Not the typical park you're used to.

If you’re not a local, I lightly recommend trying to decide in advanced what exactly it is you want to see - Central Park is huge and easy to get lost in. One of the most incredible places in this fantastic city. You can't get to know him in one visit. It is surrounded by wonderful museums. I found the place quite safe. Anyway, it is a place to do many things

The citizens of New York City, meaning ALL of the city's five boroughs, along with all of the visitors from around the world, and possible extraterrestrial visitors are extremely fortunate to have one of the world's finest urban parks. Hey, come on, if we ever DID have visitors from anyplace "off-world," they'd definitely look for someplace to relax and observe the natives, and Central Park would be, well, central to that part of their mission. We loved the view of the park we had from our hotel, and the people-watching is world class! And where else might you find a man walking a goat on a leash?

I went in the night and between the woods and it was a great experience. There’s a great view of New York skyline in the lake, north to the city. Really beautiful place I went there almost everyday in my trip to New York

Central Park located in the heart of Manhattan is open to the public. Extremely gigantic it takes at least 2 to 3 days for it to be known in its entirety. Between lakes, monuments and some beautiful animals the park is completely safe regardless of the time. I was there after 10 pm and everything was very calm. Couples admiring the moon until dawn. Bars and restaurants and public restrooms close at 9pm. There is free water in many parts of the park. Uptown has a subway station. There is a skating rink in some months of the year that is undoubtedly the busiest in NYC. It's a call out part. It is well worth the visit. Take the opportunity to walk a lot day and night. These are two distinct moments

From the immense green car of the park overlook the most luxurious buildings, the most coveted residences in New York. They are the refined giants of Fifth Avenue lined up on the east side of the world's grandest city park. This large green lung, 51 blocks long and 3 wide, is suitable for the most varied activities. If you are a sportsman you can go iogging with New Yorkers, go biking, skating, horseback riding, boating or visiting the zoo located inside the park, or simply stroll. In autumn the rusty colors enhance the undergrowth creating natural flower beds of rare beauty. Inside the park there is an open-air theater, where it is possible to listen to operas or attend performances. Better to avoid going to the park at night. It may be dangerous. Seeing the half melted snowpersons was fun. Seeing the ones that had been turned yellow was hilarious. The foot worn paths were easy to navigate. Every picture is a treat of the beauty of NYC and they make you feel like a professional photographer.

Following proposals for a large park in Manhattan during the 1840s, it was approved in 1853 to cover 778 acres (315 ha). In 1857, landscape architects Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux won a design competition for the park with their "Greensward Plan". Construction began the same year; existing structures, including a majority-Black settlement named Seneca Village, were seized through eminent domain and razed. The park's first areas were opened to the public in late 1858. Additional land at the northern end of Central Park was purchased in 1859, and the park was completed in 1876. After a period of decline in the early 20th century, New York City parks commissioner Robert Moses started a program to clean up Central Park in the 1930s. The Central Park Conservancy, created in 1980 to combat further deterioration in the late 20th century, refurbished many parts of the park starting in the 1980s. Main attractions include landscapes such as the Ramble and Lake, Hallett Nature Sanctuary, the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, and Sheep Meadow; amusement attractions such as Wollman Rink, Central Park Carousel, and the Central Park Zoo; formal spaces such as the Central Park Mall and Bethesda Terrace; and the Delacorte Theater. The biologically diverse ecosystem has several hundred species of flora and fauna. Recreational activities include carriage-horse and bicycle tours, bicycling, sports facilities, and concerts and events such as Shakespeare in the Park. Central Park is traversed by a system of roads and walkways and is served by public transportation. Its size and cultural position make it a model for the world's urban parks. Its influence earned Central Park the designations of National Historic Landmark in 1963 and of New York City scenic landmark in 1974. Central Park is owned by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation but has been managed by the Central Park Conservancy since 1998, under a contract with the municipal government in a public–private partnership. The Conservancy, a non-profit organization, contributes 75% of Central Park's $65 million annual budget and is responsible for all basic care of the park.

If you go to NYC you really need to go to Central Park. It is a beautiful park with rolling hills and water. Many of the trees are older and make the park majestic. I enjoyed walking in the park with some amazing views of the city. It is like you are on the edge between the chaos of the city and the relative beauty of the park.

Such a nice little park. Plenty of things to see. And quiet places to sit and contemplate the meaning of life or when will the Jets or Giants get back to having a winning sesson.

  • 5/5 Dennis F. 2 years ago on Google
Could come here everyday and see new things. So many different activities and landmarks to see. We rented bikes to try and see it all but unless you're in some pretty good shape, get the Ebikes, rented on the Southeast corner or pay the hefty price for someone else to peddle you around. But it's a MUST trip for anyone going to NYC.

Lovely, picturesque park for a walk any time of the year. Fall colors were beautiful. Was bustling with people- probably more than the city was- on a Sunday afternoon. Free parking on weekends from W 62 St to W 110 St - took 20 minutes to find a spot

So big and well maintained. So many beautiful trees. I just wish it had off-road cycling option!

One of my favorite places in New York. Always something to see and do. Places to eat and shop. Good tour of the architecture and history. St. Pat's is right across the street. There are lots of places to grab a bite downstairs. Feels very much like New York to me. Fun just to sit for a while if you need a break.

One of my favorite parks in the entire world! I love how busy it is and the variety. Also that it's right in the middle of NYC. Everyone who visits NYC needs to go to this park.

An absolute must when visiting the city!! What a beautiful well maintained world renowned park! So happy we had the good mind to work it into our short visit❤️

One of the best and most economical places to play, relax,or just even walk around to spend your afternoon in Manhattan whether you are a tourist or local, all season round. Also one of the best places to spot a celebrity. Large number of food carts inside to grab a quick bite or rehydrate, however since food is allowed inside it is best to bring to your own snacks and drinks. The great lawn, Jacqueline Kennedy lake, central park zoo and strawberry fields are some of the top attractions. Cycles also available for rent close by which is a nice add on.

Central Park in New York City covering 843 acres. It is the most visited urban park in the United States, with an estimated 42 million visitors annually and is the most filmed location in the world. Central Park is located between the Upper West and Upper East, highly recommended to visitors and New Yorkers alike as part of what New York City has to offer!

Great park! A usual tourist attraction of NYC! This park is iconic and you may have seen it so many Hollywood movies. Home Alone 2 was one of it. The movie Hitch also had some scenes shot here. Park is buzzing during the warm.days of summer and crisp cool days of early fall. Vibrant colors if you go in October. If you are a first timer of out of towner or a foreigner, rules are same to be safe! Don't go in remote , secluded area/corners and don't stay or hang there when it gets dark or too long after the sunset. A lot of walking trails and bike lanes inside. Be careful of the horse buggies and people who are flying on their bicycles when you are crossing live inside streets. The zoo, kids zoo and Bethesda fountains are good attractions. There is always an outdoor concert during the summer! Just follow the official website to stay updated. A lot of street food vendors inside and around the park. Be vigilant, be safe and enjoy responsibly!! Please Keep it clean and watch your kids. There are rocks to climb and trails to walk or jog as much as you want!! Have a nice trip!

Highly recommend to pedal down 5th Avenue, this video was taken last summer, enjoying fresh air and hot weather. We were heading to the next entrance to Central Park so we could circle it al around. The bike was electric and the ride took us about 30 minutes.

Beautiful open space, just make sure you bring comfy shoes! We hired bikes to get around it which was great fun and then came back on foot to see some sights we couldn't see on the bikes. Best time to come is early morning, around 7/8am as there's barely anyone there.

just beautiful. it's great how you can quickly tap out of the noise of Manhattan. It's not completely still there, but it's fascinating how much quieter it suddenly is. The squirrels are super cute. everything is very spacious. best to bring time

I have been to New York a half dozen times and never visited Central Park. I had been warned my whole life that it was a dangerous place. This year we took our kids on vacation to New York and this is one of the places they wanted to see. I am so glad we went. It was absolutely beautiful and full of families, couples, runners, and friends enjoying the park together. It is amazing to see the thoughtful design and quietness of this huge park in the middle of a bustling city. We did see a few homeless people there but they were not camped and they didn’t bother people for money.

Quite lovely even if hiking through it left us hot and sweaty in the mid morning. Glad we walked through to see the Met. I wish more cities had such a beautiful space. However, I am sorry to learn that Central Park displaced an African American community in the forming.

Central park after visiting time square for a week,I absolutely see why it’s so necessary specially, for all New Yorkers, to have a place for them to escape the 24 seven nonstop, New York lifestyle . The atmosphere leaves you feeling so relaxing and unwinding from all of the busy streets of Times Square & and everything else that New York has to offer . Definitely take a day and two and relax, & people watch! Don’t forget to Bring a blanket, because this place is prefect for a picnic, so make sure you bring it small throw blanket, sunglasses!

For the countless times I’ve been to this park, I just can’t believe that it’s in the middle of one of the most magical cities in the world. It is so peaceful especially with the number of people here. There are so many landmarks that have been on TV and in the movies. There are nice public bathrooms if needed. If you are coming to NYC GO HERE!

The only man made park that’s so beautiful and clean, we visit every year and spend at least 3-4 hours in the park. Visiting the lake and the Strawberry Fields is one of the few things that is worth, the battery powered rickshaws are not cheap but you can negotiate with them. Best time is around evenings as in summertime its nice cool area. Parking is only on Sunday free and if you find one.

Whether you are a local or coming to visit New York City, you must walk around Central Park. It's full of picturesque lakes, scenic trees and landscapes, statues, beautiful fountains and bridges and so much more! There are places to climb around on hills and rocks and playgrounds for the kids through the huge space. Walking around is easy with the many roads and paths inside. You can also take a horse-drawn carriage or have a person take you around on a covered bike ride. Definitely the place to go to see landmarks within a landmark!

Such an interesting place and includes the diverse people. Spend all day or multiple days there. Sit on a bench and just watch the people, or performances or just breathe in the atmosphere around you. The kids liked it as well as the adults. I expected more food carts and bathroom locations.

A great and iconic big city park! Welcome respite from the relentless towering concrete jungle of Manhattan. Plenty to see and do whether walking, riding or in horse drawn carriage. It's the second best big city park I've visited (behind Hyde Park in London) with its only detriment being some dingy gross corners across the north and eastern sides.

Strawberry Fields was a nice memorial to John Lennon and the Beatles. The Tavern On The Green had some nice options as you meander around the west side of Central Park. Always a lovely place to get a true taste of the diversity in New York City.

We rode the horse carriage and it's an excellent way to tour the park. We had a great tour guide. He gave interesting facts on who lived where and what movie was shot there. You get to stop at 3 different places for photo ops before ending the tour. I suggest one hour which costs $165.

The park is beautiful. Me and my husband did a lot of walking and sightseeing. You came across a few Bridges and the angel which was a beautiful sight. We walked from southeast to Midwest, then Midwest to northeast. It’s a huge, family filled, place of beauty and peace. I’m so glad we went on a holiday when folks were out and about. Do yourself a favor, and get off of the central path. There are hundreds of them that wind through less populated areas, giving you an opportunity to fully enjoy the environment. We spent an entire day, just in central park, and could easily go back several times and still not see everything. This is a place you should not rush through.

Zum Central Park muss man wohl nicht allzu viel sagen, ausser, dass man ihn unbedingt besucht haben muss. Bei schönem Wetter doppelt schön, am Wochenende etwas voller als sonst üblich. Eine wundervolle Ruheoase mitten in New York.

Want to get away from the noise and intensity of NYC? We spent most of the day strolling through the park, and there is plenty to see and places to relax. The park attendant volunteers are fantastic and one of them gave us a free map and marked it up with the kind of attractions we wanted to see.

Growing up in the country, I'll never quite get used to "parks" being in cities. Regardless Central Park is big enough to break my view of that stereotype I have. I'd say the best way to travel around, if you're a tourist, is by a bike. There's many lovely views to see. I didn't realize before visiting though that the park is full of Statues, I'll be honest I thought it was mostly about nature beforehand.

We have enjoyed our Sunday morning in Central Park. You can rent a little boat and enjoy the view; it takes around 45 minutes, and the price is really affordable. Also a great place for picnics and outdoor activities. Central Park was on our way to the American Museum of Natural History, which we really enjoyed as well.

Lovely place right now especially in fall. Some of the popular spots are crowded but if you take a walk along some of the many trails they are deserted and quiet and super pretty. There's also live music around the Bethesda terrace region.

  • 4/5 Luda P. 4 months ago on Google
My Central Park visit offered a serene escape, marred only by the abundance of leaves on the paths. The lack of signs pointing to attractions like monuments, ponds, the carousel, and the zoo created some navigational challenges. Additional railings on steep paths would enhance safety. Providing park maps in different sections would be a valuable addition. Despite these minor inconveniences, I rate the experience a 4 out of 5 for its tranquil ambiance and potential for improvement.

We opted to take a guided bike tour and were happy we did. Our guide offered several tours (60/90/120 minutes , half-day, etc) and we chose the 2-hour one for $200. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable about the park, its history, and the surrounding areas - we had a great time and the time flew by - a great way to see some of the park!
