A spacious bar with enough TVs for games. Staff are friendly, and bar foods are good. What more do I ask for!?

This is a wonderful sports bar with excellent food. Btw Barry and Melissa were busy but they got everything right and were very nice. Now to the particulars: Huge pretzels with mustards and cheese sauce Pure unadulterated decadence Fresh French fries, Burgers, spring rolls, etc. Reasonable prices for what you get, this is a Sharing place bc portions are generous. It gets loud but hey it’s a sports bar with TVs. This is not a place for take out or delivery, because most complaints are about that, cmon get out of apt and enjoy your food hot and fresh. For what it is it’s a fun place and I can’t wait to bring my “adult” kids and have a party! Quarter next to pretzel for Reference.

Bartenders definitely show favoritism & choose who they serve first. I was with a group of 6 ppl & we waited a good 20 mins until someone acknowledged us. Bought one drink & left went to Tally Ho & received phenomenal service. 1/10.

We went to this place with a group of 19 adults. Around 6 PM. At this point, there about total 25 ppl in the entire bar (basically a few more than us ). For the next 20 minutes, no one bothered to come and take our order. Following that when we asked/questioned the bartender was not happy (god knows why) and took forever to come to us. Even after we started drinking, he was hardly paying attention to us even if we were walking up to the bar asking for anything. He often would walk around at bar ignoring me and my colleagues too and go chit chat with others and his co-workers. At end of night, around 11 pm, when my colleagues asked him if you can give fireball shot, he said no, then we asked if he can give Jägermeister shots, he said he doesn't have it too. Then suddenly someone asked about Jameson shot and he said that's how you are supposed to drink, telling us what we ordered was inappropriate, asking for liquor shots is absurd. Furthermore, he was like "who asks for liquor shots at this time". Who the heck (you know which word I really meant) is he to decide what shots are absurd versus what are appropriate??? If he did not have enough Jägermeister, why didn't he simply say it so instead of insulting us. Anyway, this was my first and my last time coming here, and I am sure my followers will appreciate my honest feedback. One star for SOMA IPA!

The Shep is the perfect location for hosting your private events! Our family celebrated our son's first birthday party here as we needed a venue that could well accommodate 77 people. I cannot rave enough about the flexibility in crafting your personalized menu, the friendliness of the staff, the ability to decorate the entire restaurant to accommodate your theme, and overall satisfaction in the food and beverages of the day. Leading up to the event, the owner was extremely helpful in selecting tray sizes for the number of people we had attending the event. During the event the owner and the rest of the staff would check in with us frequently to ensure we had everything we needed. They also were extremely accommodating for specific dish we needed for dietary restrictions. I look forward to hosting many future events at this location.

WE hit this place up prior to shopping at Trader Joe' across the street. The service was good. They have a wide variety of beers on tap. Our food was also good. Had the fish tacos which were good. My friend had a tuna salad which she liked as well. The have a lot of T.v.s for watching the game and this being fall, they were set to college football. Looks like a nice place to watch the game and have some food and drink.

Didn't eat so only rating the bar for a quick drink before dinner. Summer Saturday so it was fairly empty. It's a sports bar that is probably busy during the fall through spring when Hoboken is buzzing. Drinks were good and bartender was friendly.

I went Shepherd & The knuck with my family several days ago. I was greeted by the hostess and we had a reservation however we were early and she still sat us which was nice. Our waitress was very friendly and brought us kids menu and crayons. That food and drinks were both great and came out in an acceptable time. The bread they put on the table is amazing! I would definitely return Shepherd is the best will visit them some other time.

Ordered wings for delivery. See picture below of “garlic and Parmesan”. They put the sauce in the delivery container and didn’t toss them… Also ordered Thai and pineapple & chili, and they both used the same exact sauce with red flakes. At least they were tossed. Edit: appreciate the response from owner, but I wasn’t referring to the small container of ranch, but rather the actual garlic/parm sauce you can see below the wings. The wings themselves weren’t tossed in it, it was just below them in the container (it didnt leak off, there was no trace of it on the wings). To be fair, I’ve had the wings in the restaurant and they were way better, seems like a glitch for delivery orders.

Ordered wings, quesadillas, and a giant pretzel for take out. Was ready when i arrived for pickup. Wings were sub-par. Not the worst but not worth a second try. Not crispy; fatty; and bland. Quesadillas were undercooked. About what you’d get from hotel room service. Pretzel was ok. Take out order included ketchup packets. We wonder why. Anyway. The ketchup packets were past their expiry date.

We love coming here! Trivia nights on Wednesday are always a fun time. Garrett and Anthony are so attentive no matter how packed the place is. Huge beer selection and the food is REALLY good. (The chicken wraps, tacos, and steak quesadilla are 🔥). We even had our wedding after party here. Perfect place for everything!

Great local bar! BBQ Wings were amazing and Cesar, our bantender made our experience even better. Definitely go back for Trivia Night.

It's a nice pub spot if you want to go and hang out and watch a game and get a bite to eat. Food was pretty good and the service fine. Would need to go back to test out the drinks at the bar. Overall a good experience.

I'll give them 4 stars mainly for their service and being a great place to enjoy drinks. However, I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap to go tonight, and the fries were cold while the wrap had old, soggy lettuce.

They messed up my door dash order. And refused to deliver it. It was a .7 mile drive. I called and said I’ll just come get it. They said that they would remake it and lied. Food was ice cold. And sat out for 2 hours. Don’t waste ur time or money at this place

one of the best places to host an event or watch a game. The service has always been outstanding from the owner Joe down to the bartenders. the spring rolls are one of the best unique bar foods in the city.

The Shep!! This place is such a fantastic establishment and everything you could want when it comes to a sports bar in Hoboken. Solid bar food, pretty affordable drinks, tons of beer choices, plenty of TVs, and weekly live music and trivia. Great place to watch NFL football too. The Shep also has some pretty awesome people working there. Gary and Anthony are two of my favorite people, always make me smile, and are top notch servers/bartenders. (Also, shout out to Alex, Amalia, and Alejandro for great service and food too!) Shep a/k/a best bar in Hoboken!

The Shep is an amazing neighborhood spot! We have been going for years. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. My fiancé and I love it so much we booked our engagement party! From the moment we started planning, all the way through the party, they made it easy and stress free. The food was great, the atmosphere was perfect, and our party would not have been the same if we held it anywhere else. If you are thinking of having a private party in the area give them a call!

Good service, food & drinks, honest staff. I dropped a WAD of cash coming into the bar, and the bouncer kindly brought it over to me. That alone was a testament to the people this place hires. We will be back with our friends! Please take care of that bouncer for me! (7/22/22 8pm)

Went to the Shepherd & the Knucklehead in Hoboken and this place is awesome, the service was great even though the place was pretty crowded. They had EVERY sports game on TV, Baseball, Football, etc. Food was fantastic, we had apps and 5 different entries and everyone was cooked to perfection. Swiss burger and fries was literally one of the best burgers I have ever had, friend has burger sliders, BEST ever, fish tacos, outstanding. Salads were HUGE. Prices were VERY reasonable as well. I can't wait to go back and watch some NFL games on Sunday's. I would highly recommend this place for Brunch/Lunch/Diner or drinks, you won't be disappointed. Also, the owner came over to our table a few times, to make sure everything was OK, that is a great trait to have as an owner of a fine establishment as the Shep is, we will be back for sure.

Tried the Buffalo chicken wrap the other night and was pleasantly surprised. I always expect burgers and wraps to be good from bars, but this was better than I expected. It was different from most Buffalo chicken wraps but it’s hard to pinpoint exactly why. Chicken was crispy and I loved the grill marks on the outside of the tortilla. It came with an extra side of Buffalo sauce, but it would’ve been better had that been blue cheese or ranch. That’s really the only knock I have. Sweet potato fries were above average. I’m hoping this wasn’t a fluke and that this is how Shep & Knucklehead’s buff chick wrap actually is. Will def be stopping by again soon

Came here to meet some friends and ended up getting some apps as well. They have TVs throughout the entire bar so you can always watch any game you want. It’s quite spacious and everyone has their own table/section to hang out so you don’t feel crowded and squished like you do at other bars in Hoboken. The staff was incredibly thoughtful and quick to get anything we needed.

This is the ideal spot in Uptown Hoboken to catch a game given that it's in an excellent location, is a well-kept bar, has excellent sports bar food/a huge range of options, and has NFL Sunday Ticket to catch any of the games that are on. The beer options are definitely very good for a typical sports bar. My review would be 5 stars if it wasn't for the absentee service that I have gotten almost every time I've been here for the last 3 years of living in Uptown Hoboken. Trying to get the attention of the one and only server that they usually have working is a tough task, so unless I'm looking to sit with nothing for 30 minutes+ I more often than not I have to order food or drinks by coming right up to the bar. If I'm looking to get a certain game put on I will also need to remind them a few times other wise they'll only have the Jets and Giants on almost all of the 20+ TVs. I'd say that they should probably have more consistent staff on hand, but it seems like the 1-3 people that are usually working are focused more on larger groups or people that are clearly regulars/know the staff. If I go in solo/with a small group it feels like I'm asking for a favor by ordering another drink or having the channel flipped to a different game. From reading the other reviews on here I know that management may say "this isn't like us" in response, but unless we're talking about pre-2019 service, I'm not sure we can say it's a coincidence. But other than the strange service that I've seen the last few years, overall a very good place.

Came here on a quiet Tuesday night, the bartender here was super super cool, no rush, very attentive, food is so good, their wings are to die for seriously and they have so many beers on tap to please any taste. Big space bathrooms are clean and parking is free after 9pm! Recommended to anyone who wants to have a good meal and good beers. 10/10 don’t hesitate!

I can't say enough how AMAZING the Shepherd & Knucklehead is! We hosted a private party here on a Friday night for about 70 people. The food was fantastic, bar was quick with drinks, service was excellent. The bar has a great ambiance--casual but nice, cozy and welcoming. The price was very reasonable, and they were able to accommodate guests with dietary restrictions (gluten free). The owner, Joe, always responded quickly to texts/emails before the event and checked in with us throughout our party to make sure we were happy. Would definitively recommend this place for others looking to have a private party!

This place is amazing and the cute Waitress with black hair and hat didn’t get her name was amazing best waitress I’ve ever had she made sure our cups where full and she took care of what ever we wanted to the changing TV stations to seating she definitely went above and beyond mind you this place was packed so was even more impressed highly recommend this place if your looking to catch the game and have a amazing time definitely will be back a gem in Hoboken ✌️❤️

3 stars because the food was very good, wings were excellent and the prices are reasonable. This was the worst service I have ever experienced. Had a 6:30 reservation on a Saturday, we were seated and drink orders taken right away. After 45min of our waiter not even looking in our general direction I had to get up and tell him we wanted to order dinner. Another 45min after we finished eating to get the bill, only after I again had to get up and go get him. This had nothing to do with being understaffed, this place doesn't have that many tables and there was plenty of wait staff. The one waitress spent most of the night hanging out with the table next to us taking selfie's. The other waitresses just wandered around aimlessly. The tables by us which were larger groups watching CFB had to mostly go up to the bar and get drink re-fills. This place is in desperate need of some management to help with the service. Not worth going back to.

This my favorite small business In New Jersey, Tonight was my 1st time here at this venue, use to go frequently to the The Shep In Haledon, the business closed due to the pandemic. The bartender Anthony took care me of very well. I’ll be coming back more this small business, will keep supporting the Shepherd & Knucklehead of Hoboken. The drive from Haledon to Hoboken was worth It. #TheShepHoboken #Loyalcustomer

Two star rating. Bartender this evening on a Friday night was super rude and disrespectful. He tried to ask me to move furniture that I never touched or moved and gave a massive attitude. Refused to atleast be polite. The bouncers and the decor are nice hence why I didn’t give them a 1.
