Went on a Saturday in December for a late brunch. This place was very festive and lively inside. Service was a little slow and I had to flag the waiter down a few times. The waiter also told me 3 tacos came in my order and when the plate came w only 2 tacos he told me he misspoke. Probably could have been handled better but the breakfast tacos were seriously bomb. Hearty w the eggs and ham.

The food and vibe of this place is really amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious and the portion size was pretty good too. Service was a little slow but overall good experience.

My first time here the other night for dinner. When I got there it was pretty slow but within the hour things really picked up. The service was good and the staff were polite and kind. The restaurant was clean and had a nice vibe. Had the nachos and salsa and order of the Carnitas Tacos. The chips could have def used a bit more salt. The salsa tasted very fresh. The tacos were good. The meat was juicy. I would have liked the tortillas doubled up because they did start to break a bit from the juice from the pork.

Wow! El Vez really impressed us with their restaurant environment and amazing menu! The food tasted authentic and fresh, and the staff was honest about wait time, which we greatly appreciated. Omar, our server, was a wonderful personality and we can’t thank him enough for being a fantastic server. I went with the Chicken Enchiladas which comes with a side of beans and rice. A perfect duo! We also tried the Nacho Mama as an appetizer and it was delicious! If you are ever in the area and looking for good food, try this place out!

This place was so good and so close to the oculus for us who ride the PATH! The food was phenomenal! The vibes inside are super fun and the drinks and margaritas are so yummy! The staff also kept coming around to check on us and they were really friendly!

The food here is good nothing to complaint about, the space here is huge they can easily accommodate 100 plus people I believe, the vegetarian option is also good, the prices are also reasonable, they have different types of guacamole according to the spice level and it is amazing that one dish is a must try!!

A solid restaurant serving good Mexican food and even better Birria. I came here for the Birria nachos and it came out on a big plate with plenty of toppings. I had the steak tacos and it was juicy, crispy, and just melted in your mouth good. The yellow tomatoes in it added a unique flavor. My friends had the enchiladas and the Birria tacos. I would get the Birria tacos next time. Overall nice ambiance and good food!

This place is amazing. The food was delicious and filling. The nachos are amazing as well. Enchiladas have great flavor and color. The tacos are meaty and the tortilla soup is one of the best I’ve had. I’ve been here twice already, once for an anniversary and then for a birthday and I’ve thorough enjoyed both experiences. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic are really tasty. Overall great environment and amazing vibes.

This is probably one of my favorite Mexican Restaurants in NYC. Great ambiance, amazing food, and amazing service. Their drinks selections are versatile and food is very delicious. There is a photo booth so don’t forget to check that out! Overall a great place to checkout with friends, family, or take date.

Found this Jem Mexican food place near World Trade Center it’s a 5-10 mins walk, where you get authentic Mexican food so flavourful and delicious. We had a starter and 2 main course for 2 pax. The started was mushroom based and it’s vegetarian loved the way cheese and mushrooms blended and it was so delicious and mouthwatering. Highly recommend Carnitas Tacos which is pork belly based the moment I took a bite of it, it was so soft and so tasty never had so yummy and delicious pork. It’s worth the money and one plate won’t be sufficient if you love the waste Love the service and atmosphere. The wait time was less after you order food even though the kitchen is busy all the time

My 2nd visit here. Fantastic food. I had the short rib enchiladas, nachos and churros. Amazing decor. You'll notice around the restaurant that there are a lot of painting of Elvis. This is actually "El Vez" - a famous Mexican Elvis impersonator that the restaurant was named after. Thank you to the wonderful waiter and staff that told us about the Elvis history and kept the drinks and food coming! Definitely one of my favorites.

Searched for a Mexican Restaurant nearby and this El Vez popped up. Ambiance is fantastic and the Nachos and Tacos were wonderful. Sangria’s taste was not what I expected but still fine (usually I had sweet ones) Recommend the steak taco. Desert we ordered, Waffle Chocolate Taco (I guess) was something!! Best choice for the final touch.

Excellent customer service as usual. We come here almost every week and every-time the food is fresh and delicious! There isn’t a single time when the food doesn’t taste good. Everything from the menu is so yummy. We live close by and this is our go-to food. We usually get: Nacho Mama with birria (which are excellent), carnitas tacos, guacamole, plantains, and you can’t go wrong with any choice of margaritas. Classic & strawberry margaritas are my favorite! Great vibe and beautiful decor inside. There is also a Photo Booth for who ever likes to make some memories and cute pics. Small tip: on weekends go with reservations! Walk-ins might have a bit of a wait time.

It’s a really great ambiance for sure. The seating staff at the door was friendly and welcoming. Our server took real long time to get our food, we had to strike him down to ask where is the food..! Firstly they brought the nachos on table which was really great and every bite of that tasted really very well. The wait was for sure long he brought one more plate to the table but the third plate was again missing, we asked another server about our third plate they said it’s coming and he brought it out, it almost took 10 mins to get the mahi taco. For the prices we paid the food was really less in quantity. But It’s ok I guess because of the city prices. But never coming back again.

Had brunch here for a friend's birthday. Really nice place! Great drinks, amazing food! Very friendly service! WARNING ⚠! This place has the biggest pancakes 🥞 ever!! 🤯 You probably won't be able to finish them by yourself! Trust me, I tried! Lol 😂. Definitely a sharable.

The food was decent however it was clear the server couldn’t be bothered to deal with customers. It took him a good 10 min to come over after we were seated and if t wasn’t for me flagging him down. He then just looked at me with a look of “yes?” One of the bus boys served us our guacamole without chips but gave the other table guacamole and chips. And when I asked for our chips he then hands me a basket and stared at me with daggers in his eyes and asked “you want extras?” It was bizarre but I almost don’t fault them given the pandemic has created such labor challenges. At least the food’s decent even the service was subpar. The ladies at the hostess stand were pleasant though.

The taste, portion size, and value of both the food and drinks are decent, especially considering it's near prime real estate. The food isn't traditional Mexican but an American/modern version of it. I personally found it quite bland and had to use a lot of salsa / hot sauce to add flavour. I don’t recommend the churros - they were quite moist on the inside (to the point that they stick to your teeth). The decor is quite nice and the restaurant is quite spacious, so it's good for groups. There's also ample outdoor seating.

The food was good but they had limited vegan options. They don’t have substitutes but can remove the cheese. There’s a few vegetarian options. My partner had chicken quesadillas and said they were delicious. Ambience and service was 5 star. We also had a tres leches cake for desert which was very tasty.

Got a burrito here, the food was good but I couldn't escape the feeling that I was paying quite a lot for the location and the slightly upscale digs. Service was weirdly slow, which the waiter apologized for several times. Pretty good outdoor dining spot, at least.

This place is so cute!! The drinks were delish, the decor was beautiful, and the food was amazing. My favorite were the nachos, every bite was perfect and there was not a plain chip in sight

Service was a tad bit slow but I think it’s due to the timing my boyfriend and I were dining in. Aside from that, the food and drinks were absolutely delicious and our waitress was super sweet and helpful. The decor and ambiance is truly one of a kind and the atmosphere felt very cozy. Great for a date night or dining in with a group of friends. I will definitely be back here!

Macho Nachos,, Hot Sauce , and margaritas are excellent. Fish Tacos were pretty good, Steak Tacos would be a pass. Chicken quesadillas forgettable. Would repeat

Very decent Mexican food with good margarita, many options for shared plates (nachos) and vegetarian-friendly options. Highly recommend their butternut squash guac and shrimp tacos.

  • 3/5 Jesse T. 2 years ago on Google
Incredibly mediocre Mexican food experience. Someone with me described it as Mexican food at Disneyland, but I think the Mexican pavilion does better Mexican food. I was hoping for really flavorful, authentic, hole in the wall flavors (hoping optimistically since I was in Fifi) but the food was boring and sterile. High quality ingredients and good execution so I'll give them that but needed more flavor.

  • 5/5 Bryan W. 2 years ago on Google
The nachos maximized surface area to ensure the perfect coverage of cheese, pickled red onion and pickled jalapeno on each chip. Highly recommend the short rib enchiladas. The burnt grapefruit is a unique take on the traditional paloma.

Lovely place to go for brunch with friends / family after the Van Gogh Experience which is just a stone’s throw away. They have outdoor dining - perfect for people watching and a nice ambiance inside. Attentive staff, too! I was very happy with my order: Smoked Salmon Benedict which came in with poached eggs and blue cornbread. So tasty and delectable. I partnered it with the Banana Diaries cocktail (just heavenly, imo!) and I now have to place this on my top 10 of best brunches in NYC. A must visit in the area and I’m definitely coming back!

We had made reservations and placed at a table that was slanted, they never offered to move us and the service was horrible. It took forever to even order or receive our food and when we got it, it was very plain. The margaritas were good, we got the frozen blood orange pitcher. The waitress never came once to check on us or ask how our food was or we would have asked for something different. We got the original guacamole and shrimp and chicken tacos but it was like there was no seasoning. I would recommend going somewhere else.

What a terrific spot! The nacho mama appetizer was plenty and addicting. Lots of great flavors in this dish and the hot sauce is out of this world good! Also really liked the chicken quesadillas. Also really filling and delish! Goes well with the sour cream and hot sauce

Let me just start out by saying we had a good experience. The food was good and fresh. I love the vibe and I’m happy we went. The wait staff experience was nothing spectacular but wasn’t bad either, just did the bare minimum. I’ve also had better Mexican food and drinks for a lot less money. So should you go here yes. Is it my favorite…. No. I recommend Sombreros in Midtown over this location.

  • 5/5 Bhakti D. 2 years ago on Google
A great place with good vibes and upscale Mexican cuisine. Limited food menu but everything looks great. The mahi mahi tacos, nacho mama and chips and guac were especially tasty and worth it. We ordered tequila flights, that was also smooth and strong. Chicken enchiladas, zucchini quesadilla was average. Cocktails are good.

My favorite meal while visiting NYC. Went here for brunch and had cornbread eggs Benedict. Was a very delicious, unique take on a classic dish. Drinks and other food was also very good. Staff was attentive and decor is entertaining.

Beautiful spacious restaurant with very unique features and nice lighting throughout. Convenient location to One World Trade Ctr. The service was excellent and the appetizers and drinks were amazing! The entrees weren't as flavorful as I expected, despite a good portion. To add there is a photobooth ($3) which was really fun with Sombreros for props too!

Service: 5 stars Food: 3 stars The place was really great but the food is very mediocre. We sampled most of the dishes and desserts on the menu and i wouldn't rave about any of the dishes there honestly but the drinks are excellent. The bathroom wasn't very clean and the dining chairs where not comfortable which definitely affected the dining experience. The fish tacos were not tacos lol! They were mini wraps with ton of pickled red onions that absolutely overpowered the taste. The flan tasted orang-y and and different in an unpleasant way. All the ingredients were high quality and fresh though. And the service was excellent.

Six of us had dinner here. Everyone said the food was excellent! Everyone! It was a Friday evening, crowded yet it was possible to have a good conversation without having to shout. I would have rated the service too five stars except for the fact that all of our large order came at one go. It meant some of the food wasn't warm when it should be. Minor issue otherwise the service was excellent.

Had a good time at El Vez and Burrito Bar. They had good drinks and food. We had the chicken tacos and nacho mama and it was delicious! The only con we had was with the beef enchiladas, it was okay & also the desert menu was small, with small serving and big price. Other then that everything else was nice. They have a Photo Booth inside the restaurant, which I thought was pretty cool.

I like some of the food. We felt rushed when the waiter told us they were closing at 10pm but they took our reservation at 9:15pm. We were not going to rush through a pitcher of margarita in less than 30 min. We ordered the Tlayuda and it was a bit disappointing but I can see why some people like it. They don’t offer salsa for it unless you ask. We also ordered the beef enchiladas and they were delicious. The house margarita is good.

  • 3/5 Jasmine R. 1 year ago on Google
Good experience, will go again and try other food items before I rate higher. The nachos is a must tried, the short rid enchiladas were ok, the sauce was extra thick heavy, bring your Tums. The sangria needs a little more sangria and less seltzer. Service was so so, but will still go back to experience other items on menu.

This mexican restaurant on the edge of Hudson and World Trade areas was delicious. The margarita and michelada were flavorful and refreshing. Breakfast burrito can easily feed two people. It's HUGE. Ask for the spicy orange salsa for a hot habanero salsa. It's super spicy and so good.

Often go here with the family and it’s always a great experience. - service is always top notch and you never have to wait long to be seated. - really good food that is fresh. The nachos, various tacos and burritos are delicious. The crab and avocado Benedict spot on. Oh and the pancakes are super fluffy. - very impressive list of tequila and mezcal, always a fun cocktail list.

Came here for lunch at 12PM and it wasn't that crowded but it did start to fill up around 12:30/1PM. The staff were all so nice and the food was delicious! We had the chips & guac, Mahi Mahi and Shrimp tacos and the tuna tostadas. They were all super yummy and we were so full at the end of it. Would definitely come again!

Hanging out in the city and wanted to try a new place of course I read review and figured let’s try it. So happy we did! The noches were great! Let me start by saying I’m not a cornbread person but I was willing to try it. The Blue Cornbread Benedict was excellent, it was the perfect balance of sweet and salty. I was very satisfied with not only the dish but the attention given by the waitress Carmen. She was excellent I would definitely come back again.

We dined once and ordered takeout twice during our family trip in December 2020. They have secluded plastic outdoor cabins with heaters, so it’s really safe and warm to dine here in COVID-19 times. The food is great n the service is outstanding.

I would recommend booking in advance - if not be prepared to stand in line and wait for a table as the restaurant is always busy. I have been told it is the oldest Mexican restaurant in LA. As an added bonus, it is pretty reasonably priced too.

Loved the food but it's a little subpar for the prices. The plantains were delicious. The guac was good but I prefer mine on the thicker, chunkier side. This was a bit too thin. The steak in my tacos was seasoned really well but I'd hope for other toppings for the price like cheese, lettuce, pick, sour cream etc. And the chicken quesadilla looked sad in presentation but was ok in flavor. I'd go back but I still think there are other quality Mexican spots for cheaper.
