I
have
been
to
this
CityMD
location
many
times,
and
usually,
my
visits
were
satisfactory.
This
occasion
was
not.
I
first
came
in
on
Monday,
September
12th,
and
had
complained
about
pain
in
my
ears
and
my
throat
and
that
I
had
been
exposed
to
someone
who
tested
positive
for
COVID
within
the
last
week.
I
had
my
vitals
taken,
and
the
doctor
looked
into
my
ears
and
throat
and
also
examined
my
teeth.
I
was
told
by
the
doctor
that
the
symptoms
I
was
featuring
were
not
COVID
symptoms
and
that
they
were
more
likely
symptoms
of
strep,
seasonal
allergies
or
even
possibly
a
tooth
infection.
I
was
given
a
rapid
COVID
test,
a
rapid
strep
test
and
an
overnight
strep
test
-
not
a
PCR
-
and
came
back
negative
on
all
three.
I
was
told
to
take
some
DayQuil
and
Claritin
and
I
would
feel
better.
My
symptoms
only
got
worse
with
a
fever
developing
that
night
reaching
101°F.
I
began
to
experience
chills,
extreme
exhaustion,
body
aches,
nausea,
vomiting,
coughing
and
chest
pain.
(Reminder:
I
was
not
given
a
PCR
test,
which
may
have
detected
this.)
I
ultimately
tested
positive
for
COVID
on
an
at-home
COVID
test.
I
called
the
CityMD
location
I
had
visited
and
told
them
I
tested
positive
and
asked
for
a
prescription
for
Paxlovid
or
some
other
sort
of
treatment.
I
was
told
I
would
need
to
return
to
CityMD
to
confirm
I
was
positive
because
I
wasn’t
examined
for
COVID
the
first
time
and
a
PCR
was
not
preformed.
I
told
the
rep
on
the
phone
that
I
was
too
weak
to
come
back
to
CityMD
and
that
I
had
been
there
a
mere
two
days
prior.
She
insisted
there
was
nothing
she
could
do
for
me
unless
a
provider
saw
me
again.
So
with
my
husband’s
assistance,
I
returned
to
CityMD
on
Wednesday,
September
14th.
My
second
visit
to
CityMD
was
almost
as
unhelpful
as
the
first.
This
time,
the
doctor
took
my
vitals,
placed
an
oxygen
monitor
on
my
finger
(because
my
levels
were
elevated)
and
took
a
rapid
COVID
test.
I
complained
to
the
doctor
about
my
ears
and
throat
still
hurting,
but
this
time,
the
doctor
did
not
look
in
my
ears
or
throat,
and
did
not
listen
to
my
chest
despite
a
nasty
cough.
When
I
asked
what
could
be
done,
the
doctor
told
me
that
I
should
go
home
and
rest
and
drink
plenty
of
fluids.
When
I
pushed
back
and
requested
the
Paxlovid
anti-viral,
I
was
met
with
resistance
and
told
I
was
“young
and
healthy”
and
that
people
who
usually
were
prescribed
Paxlovid
were
usually
65+
and
had
preexisting
diseases.
I
responded
to
the
provided
and
pushed
harder,
insisting
I
receive
Paxlovid
because
I
have
PCOS
and
asthma
and
had
been
hospitalized
for
bronchitis
and
pneumonia
in
the
past.
I
also
insisted
my
father,
who
had
COVID
less
than
two
months
ago,
had
also
received
Paxlovid
and
was
62
with
no
previous
health
conditions.
The
doctor
was
snarky,
rolled
her
eyes,
and
told
me
if
I
wanted
Paxlovid
so
badly
then
I
could
have
it,
but
be
aware
I
may
experience
a
metallic
taste
in
my
mouth.
This
doctor
was
unprofessional,
condescending
and
did
very
little
in
terms
of
an
overall
exam.
I
was
thoroughly
unimpressed.
Overall,
these
past
two
experiences
with
CityMD
have
left
me
frustrated
and
unenthusiastic.
Unfortunately,
this
is
the
only
local
urgent
care
in
Washington
Heights,
otherwise,
I
would
have
gone
elsewhere.
