Cakes in Bistro Barberet & Bakery delicious, tender and, what is very important, they are not cloying. Their variety in structure and taste is great, so any person who comes to this bakery will be able to choose what he likes. The latte is excellent. The service staff is polite and knows all the products well. Thank you very much to all the workers and owners of Bistro Barberet & Bakery for the fact that they respect people.

Our dinner here on New Years Eve was PERFECT. We had early reservations and arrived earlier than expected. We were seated at a very comfortable table, and our server was spectacular. Their cocktails are amazing. I had the Vanilla Chai. It tasted like an adult Vanilla Milk Shake but not as thick. From the French Onion Soup, Appetizers, Dinner and Dessert with Cappuccino.... everything had so much flavor and was worth every penny spent. My husband had the 72 hr Short Rib. It was cooked perfectly. I had the pan seared salmon. It was also cooked perfect and was the best I ever had. We shared two desserts. No wonder Cedric won Chopped Sweets. His quaint pastries are beautiful as they are delicious. The atmosphere is chic, lovely, quiet, and quaint. You have to walk through their beautiful bakery past the colorful bountiful pastries towards the back to get to the Bistro. Don't mistake this place for other places upstairs. When you go, allow for enough time to sit and relax. It's not a place you want to go if you're in a rush. You'll want to take it all in, relax, have a drink, and dine in and have dessert. When you're ready to leave, don't forget to take something home from the bakery. Rosie, our server was sweet. She was knowledgeable of the menu, answered all our questions, and was very attentive. Can't wait to come back and dine in again. It's great for any occasion, whether a Birthday, Anniversary, or Date Night. Go! You won't be disappointed.

Food is always delicious and service is attentive without being interruptive. The restaurant is actually behind a bakery and has a calm intimate atmosphere. Highly recommend visitng the bakery in the front to select a few cakes to have brought to your table. Would highly recommended coming here for a date night or even as a nice dinner with friends!

In terms of appearance and innovation, the desserts were truly striking. While a few of them proved to be tricky to consume, notably the macaron, the overall taste was pleasing. However, certain flavors could have been more pronounced, and there were instances where the textures were somewhat puzzling within the overall dessert experience.

Had a great experience at Barberet! Food was excellent. They offered a prix fixe menu for the restaurant week. For $50 I chose raclette to start, boeuf bourguignon for the main and azur cake for dessert. Topped it off with great conversation and a cappuccino. Growing up French, these meals brought me back to my roots and still accommodated for my celiac disease by offering gluten free options and food choices which were naturally gluten free! Highly recommend this location if you love authentic French cuisine which is well done! Bravo bistro Barberet! 👏🏼

First time here, certainly will not be the last time. Conveniently located in the downtown area, not far from many of the restaurants and the Central Market. Amazing variety of different pastries to choose from. The croissants that we purchased were light and fluffy and absolutely delicious. The staff was attentive and accommodating to all our questions.

Lovely french restaurant in downtown Lancaster. Great French food, service is great, and cute location inside. Also, I highly recommend the coffee ice cream!!! It was a small scoop, but one of the most flavorful and memorable ice creams I've ever tried before. I'm not sure if they always have this flavor or if it's a rotating flavor. But overall, I definitely recommend this place for a nice fancy restaurant in downtown Lancaster.
