If you’re a picky (and hopelessly stubborn) guitar buyer like me, you know how frustrating the experience can be — especially if you have a particular sound and feel in mind, and aren’t willing to settle for less. Guitars of the same make and model can vary from piece to piece, so you may not feel comfortable buying an instrument online. The team at Rudy’s (including Rudy himself) were very patient with me as I went back and forth for hours (literally) between several guitars, until I was certain I had found the right one. They let me go through the process without rush or pressure. I believe in shopping local when you can, and building a relationship with people in the industry. If you’re in the market for high-quality gear, check out Rudy’s beautiful showroom. There aren’t many shops like it.

Rudy and his team are the real deal when it comes to true guitar knowledge, customer relations (the luthier is handling 100K guitars all day, so feel confident that your instrument is getting the best treatment here)… On top of that, you will never find the same calibre guitars on the wall in any other guitar shop in the area (besides Rudys Manhattan store), stopping by and chatting with the people (and Rudy of course) is an amazing experience no matter who you are… Mendy G(purchased 3 incredible guitars here, 2 displayed in the image)…

I must begin by saying I’ve visited A LOT of guitar stores all over North America. The experience I had at Rudy’s was nothing short of great. The store is run in such a kind, caring and helpful manner. Everyone was low key and very polite, but also extremely knowledgeable and attentive. It was an amazing, unexpected surprise to get to see Rudy himself and hear a ton of his and the store’s history— the rarest of the rare instruments he has now, has sold, and the incredible range of extraordinary musicians who he has crossed paths with over many decades. He could not have been more kind and generous, and this way of conducting his business has clearly been ingrained into the way his business operates as a whole. The environment in the store is inspiring with such a wonderfully curated collection of instruments— both old, rare and expensive, as well as new, top notch and affordable. Customer service was so attentive, patient and very low pressure. I purchased a Les Paul Special today and Rudy was very generous in offering me a really great price. Stephanie, Rudy’s daughter and wonderful person who was helping me try instruments, was listening to me play and noticed the guitar wasn’t staying in tune quite as well as it could. She so kindly offered to have their great tech, Zack, make a quick adjustment which made a huge difference. That’s GREAT customer service right there, folks. I am so glad this really fantastic, spacious store is so close to the NY metro area. I am very much looking forward to returning. Can’t say enough good things!

Rudy was awesome. Went there not expecting them to have the guitar I wanted, much less buy one. But the model I wanted would be special order. Turns out my wife had seen this store one day passing by during work and told me. We went this past Tuesday. With no expectations, wow and behold, the Fender section room had the Exact guitar I was after for 2yrs. I was without words! For some folks this may seem lame, but in the worship to God, you use the Best. Rudy came in, asked which I was interested in, I picked it, he brought down, plugged it, and OMG! The sound was fanominol. I wanted the American stratocaster Pro II Mod-V with S-1 switching, in Dark Night blue, w/maple neck, and that was what he was holding. He handed it to me to try, and I was without words or chords..lol. After trying it out, I simply said, I'm taking it! Rudy was a gentleman, knew his stuff, and his staff were on point and very polite. I recommend this guitar shop. Thank you Rudy.

What a great shop. Very nice folks that are knowledgeable and helpful. Set up a Floyd Rose for us and all was great. 80 bucks for a Floyd was inexpensive for sure!

Rudy is a legend in the industry. I took my classic guitar for repairs. The job was excellent . The Scarsdale store is beautiful with a great selection of all types of guitars. Rudy and the staff are very knowledgeable, very helpful and friendly. The prices are also reasonable. Rudy is the best!

Picked up my first “real nice” guitar from Rudy’s (a Martin 0015m). The staff were super helpful and clearly passionate about what they do. The shop is beautiful and the selection of instruments is really something to see.

Rudy is A first-rate gentleman. It was a complete privilege to hear the history of his shop and guitars as it intertwined with the jazz greats of the day, to the creation the of Pensa. Rudy's passion for music is infectious and the love to pass it on and share is simply prevalent. Shout out also to Dan and Neil who were ever so welcoming and patient Wished I had more time in New York to explore more, and more empty spaces in the collection at home. Will be back for sure.
