Yes.
It’s
definitely
a
five-star
restaurant.
I’ve
been
wanting
to
get
here
for
about
20
years,
ever
since
I
found
it
in
the
very
back
of
a
Philadelphia
Zagat
guide
in
the
suburb
appendix!
Remember
those?
Well
I
now
have
the
Explorer
merit
badge
for
my
Boy
Scout
sash
because
finding
this
place
is
no
small
feat,
even
with
GPS.
Know
why?
Because
it’s
in
a
geological
hole
somewhere
in
between
West
Chester
and
Phoenixville
where
I
could
not
get
a
signal
to
use
my
cell
phone!
Anyway
the
place
is
charming
with
a
distinctly
French
feel.
The
menu
included
Mediterranean
Dorada
and
Spanish,
octopus,
halibut,
duck.
Kangaroo,
pheasant
and
two
beef
dishes.
I
don’t
think
I
have
ever
seen
such
a
range
of
protein
choices
anywhere
before
this.
And
as
they
came
out
of
the
kitchen
each
one
looked
better
than
the
last!
The
presentations
were
very
impressive.
Mine
was
the
halibut
which,
wrapped
around
lobster
meat,
was
steamed
and
sat
on
mashed
potatoes
and
sautéed
greens
with
a
puree
of
tomato.
It
was
fabulous,
the
kind
of
dish
you
might
see
in
Paris
or
Lyon.
Well
done,
Birchrunville
Tavern!
(Even
if
you
are
very
hard
to
find.)
I
will
definitely
go
again.
Bon
soiree!
