Seen the terrace in so many films it was a must see visit whilst in central park. Live music going on which was very pleasant to sit and listen to whilst relaxing and people watching. As a big tourist site it could get busy in peak season, but for a Saturday in November with the sun beating down, it was reasonably busy, but not rammed. Plenty of seating to rest your legs before taking on more of the park.
Our elopement took place at Wagner Cove in April 2025 — a quiet, romantic corner surrounded by cherry blossoms. After the ceremony, we continued to Bethesda Terrace for our photo shoot, where live musicians gifted us with our wedding song, Beauty and the Beast. The majestic stairs, the arches, and the fountain created a picture-perfect setting, while the music echoed through the terrace like a scene from a fairytale. @Momentosbyfer captured it all with so much creativity and heart — every photo tells a story. Both spots were easy to find, yet felt like hidden pieces of magic. Unforgettable moments, beautifully preserved.
As a NYC engagement, wedding, and elopement photographer, I highly recommend choosing Bethesda Terrace to capture your special photos. The architecture is truly stunning and makes for the perfect backdrop. There are also so many other nearby locations to head to after for stunning photos.
Very nice. Lively and great musicians played for a while. I'm impressed with restroom cleanliness even though there was no toilet paper. The only low was the urine smells permeating the corners. People were enjoying and very polite towards staff, vendors, and each other.
Super beautiful view of the fountain and people paddling on the water. There was some singers preforming for money that were a little load and annoying but other than that it was beautiful. Even though it was quite busy it didn't feel crowded.
A wonderful part of the magnificent Central Park. Beautiful fountain, lovely view on The Lake, and right next to the Arcade, where you can often hear talented musicians and singers perform. No wonder this spot is frequently used by couples for their wedding photos ! Selfie paradise 😎
Beautiful location. We saw a proposal here, wedding photos, and a Quinceañera. It’s definitely a location to do photos for all these events. Very beautiful architecture and wonderful fountain.
As i was in central park I made a visit and even in the rain it was worth a stop to see another NY place which has featured in several films. Walking through the terrace was a pleasant surprise. Recommended.
I finally got to visit Bethesda Terrace in Central Park. It is such an iconic location. Many, many movies have scenes that were shot here. That's what made me decide to go find it. Enjoy it if you get a chance visit there. I'm sure you can remember a movie in which one of the scenes was there.
This is a beautiful area with a gorgeous fountain and a lake with little turtles in it. A wonderful place for photography
Had an amazing experience with fresh snow on Christmas Eve and a street singer singing “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas” under the Terrace. The singer was magical and was perfect hearing this song with the family and visiting from Texas
Incredible view of fountain with clear water in sunlight. It is a nice feeling to see a place that you already saw in a movie. Some singers were live signing there that make this place even more interesting.
One of the most beautiful places in Central Park. The architecture of this place is amazing and the whole atmosphere as well. At times, you'll catch musicians playing breathtaking music that set an ambiance on this place that you won't find anywhere else in the city. During sunset, this place can make a romantic setting for any date. I highly recommend to anyone who has not seen this part of the park yet.
One of the most iconic sights in Central Park! The architecture is beautiful and the live performances of classical music only add to the atmosphere. Go during the summer for an even better experience, since the fountain itself is dry during the winter.
If you visit Central park, there is hardly a way not to visit the Bethesda Terrace and the Angel of the waters statue. It is a vivid place with artists and musicians and ofc wedding shootings :-)
