We
recently
visited
NYC
and
enjoyed
a
late
lunch
a
the
NoMad
Bar
at
28th
Street
and
Broadway.
This
is
a
place
that
has
been
long
recommended
by
those
who
post
on
the
TripAdvisor
New
York
City
forum
for
their
dry-aged
burgers.
As
such,
we
made
point
to
include
a
lunch
here
along
with
the
likes
of
Minetta
Tavern
and
Gramercy
Tavern
during
this
particular
trip
to
New
York.
The
NoMad
Bar
is
walk-in
only.
We
arrived
around
2pm
on
a
weekday
and
were
seated
immediately.
Atmosphere
is
very
nice,
dark
brown
walls,
a
beautiful
bar
counter
area
and
nice
wooden
booths
with
fair
lighting.
Service
was
attentive
and
timely
throughout
our
meal.
Having
a
bit
of
a
reputation
for
their
cocktails,
we
tried
a
couple
of
their
signature
drinks,
finding
them
very
sweet
and
friendly.
I
enjoyed
the
En
Maison,
NoMad's
take
of
an
Old-Fashioned
best.
This
was
a
smooth
blend
of
Japanese
whisky
and
rye.
Cocktail
drinks
at
NoMad
were
tasty
but
somewhat
enjoyed
less
to
those
at
Gramercy
Tavern
the
following
day.
As
indicated,
for
food
we
ordered
the
dry-aged
burgers
at
NoMad
Bar.
Ordered
medium-rare,
ours
were
served
up
medium
rare
to
medium
and
the
other
just
medium
temperature.
We
much
preferred
the
medium-rare
to
medium
burger
which,
for
obvious
reasons,
was
able
to
preserve
the
nature
flavours
of
the
dry-aged
beef.
The
patty
gave
off
slight
truffle
aroma
and
taste
and
was
very
good
to
eat.
The
medium
burger
was
still
quite
good
as
well,
even
if
overgrilled.
While
these
were
good
burgers,
we
enjoyed
them
less
than
the
'special'
Black
Label
burger
at
Minetta
Tavern
as
well
as
the
burger
tried
at
Gramercy
Tavern.
Fries
served
with
the
NoMad
burgers
were
better
than
those
at
Minetta
Tavern.
In
the
end,
NoMad
Bar
is
a
very
nice
spot
for
lunch
in
Manhattan.
We'd
have
no
problem
eating
here
again
during
future
visits
to
NYC
but
would
target
the
other
two
taverns
mentioned
above
first
-
at
least
for
the
burgers.
