I wish I had gotten more / better photos, however we dined later in the evening and it was rather dark. This was my favorite meal in NYC. The Cacio De Pepe lasagna was AMAZING. So flavorful and filling. The pizza was great too. It's rather thin, which I like, and the sauce was very fresh tasting. Will definitely be back on my next visit.

Very nice and cozy place. The restaurant has three dining areas, backyard indoor garden, the dining room in the basement and the street. All of them are nice but the one we liked the most is the indoor garden. It’s climatized and full of green. The place is always full so I suggest you make a reservation beforehand. The food of course is Italian and the specialty are the lasagnas. They have several kinds of lasagnas from meats to vegetables only.

My favorite restaurant to visit in NYC. Their lasagna flight is AMAZING. I always get the "vegetarian" one because I love the options: spicy, cheese, pesto, and mushroom. All SO YUMMY! Definitely enough for 2 to share. We love sitting in the garden area out back that is enclosed in glass. It's such a beautiful place to have a nice Italian dinner.

I've never heard of a flight of lasagna until I stopped in here. It's four mini lasagnas of different types. I went with a vegetarian ones but they're also meat options. This was an accidental find while wondering the Village. I went in because they had both the pride and the trans flag outside, and I left extremely happy after enjoying a flight of a veggie lasagna.

The pizza was pretty good but we loved Pete’s Banjo and the roasted eggplant lasagna. The garden area is lovely but it can get a bit congested when at full capacity.

We had delicious dinner in the garden. We reserved the spot same day. Our waitress Sophia was amazing! We were impressed with the decor. The tables were a little too small for the food we ordered. Also it was a little bit hot there. Overall my husband bday dinner was a hit!

Go once and it will immediately be one of your favorite places. Really. Absolutely charming spaces - upstairs with two very cozy fireplaces and a large, airy enclosed garden, or downstairs with an Old New York feeling around a big hearth with a fire or the bar with stone walls. Excellent cocktails and appetizers; you could be happy going for drinks and a snack. But stay for dinner and have a calzone, a pizza, or one of the eight lasagne. Then be sure to stay for a wonderful dessert and one of the exceptional after dinner cocktail or cocktail/coffee offerings. Excellent and charming service. Really in a class of its own.

The Calzone was very delicious, and the pizza was fine. Overall, satisfied with the food! They have a small garden in the back where one can choose to sit and enjoy their food!

Food: The reviews had me with very high expectations going in. However I feel it didn’t live up to the hype. I got the vegetarian lasagna flight and honestly it was very bland. No flavor at all. Gave some to my partner to try and they agreed. Also didn’t fill me. They basically just filled 4 ramekins with mostly mozzarella cheese, which I don’t think is enough given the price that you’re paying for it. The pesto lasagna that all the reviews mention didn’t taste like a damn thing. We also got the pizza with anchovies and capers and that was really good so I give 3 stars for food. But even then I don’t think the pizza was revolutionary or worth the price. Service: A lot of the dishes given to us were dirty…cups, plates, knives, everything. There was just leftover crust on everything. Plus our waiter dropped our napkins on the ground outside and still gave them to us. It was also hard to ever get his attention. Atmosphere: The ambiance was the best part. It’s a very cute and romantic restaurant. Price: I paid $66 dollars, $80 with tip for the lasagne flight, a drink ($15), a pizza and a soda. This was honestly less than I expected to pay but still wasn’t worth it all together.

My girlfriend and I were able to walk-in and get a table on a Friday night (8pm) because they have a lower level for additional seating. The atmosphere and overall vibes were nice. The food was delicious and pretty decent for the price. We ordered the Carna Lasagna flight ($25.50), Vegetariano Lasagna Flight ($25.50), and Tiramisu ($7.50). Lasagna was solid - loved all the different flavors and styles with my favorite being the Funghi and Pesto. The tiramisu is delicious too but overpriced. Overall, I would rate this place a solid 8.5/10 - great taste and vibes but a bit pricey. Would come back for the lasagna.

My fiancé and I visited La Lanterna di Vittorio last week for the first time. We made a reservation and dined in one of the "igloos" outside. It was very private and romantic. We split the cacio e pepe lasagna and lasagna bolognese. We ordered the tiramisu, but our waiter forgot and delivered us the check instead. The service was not the best, but I'm not sure if it was because the restaurant was busy, or if you get worse service sitting outside. Overall, I would visit again. Great lasagna and lovely ambiance.

Went here for Valentine’s Day and it was amazing! This place is the perfect combination of great food, atmosphere, AND service. Specifically went to sit in the covered outdoor area and it was beautiful. Would go back again and again.

La Lanterna is a tiny little restaurant that they PACK people into, but you better believe it is worth it. We went on the recommendation of an actual Italian who said this place is one of the few to nail the real flavors of Italy, showing up without a reservation, and even though they were packed the owner or manager sat us right away by a cozy fireplace. We started with a pizza with prosciutto that was absurdly good. The crust was perfect and the sauce had a fantastic pure tomato flavor. The Italian who recommended us was spot on. We then had Lasagna - mine the arrabbiata, which was legitimately spicy, and my wife the pesto, which was delicious. Our waitress was excellent and attentive and the owner or manager came over to check on us as well. Perhaps most impressive is that we got a pizza and two entrees and it was only $70.

I have been here twice and it has impressed me on both visits. The lasagne is flavor-packed delight and the pizza is also a must try. Pastries are worth giving a try, Tiramisu and the chocolate ones were yummy. To my surprise the Nutella pizza was also a great pick from dessert section. I’d also recommend Mocha Coffee for the coffee lovers. Overall a great vibe and a good place for Vegetarians.

Stopped in on thanksgiving and am so happy I did. I love the unique setting of the skylight with the big lamps and all the plants. The pizza was delicious and cooked very well, as was their appetizer bread. I had mulled wine, and my server was very attentive. Also, the restaurant has a very interesting history!

Loved the enclosed indoor garden. Our waitress J was extremely helpful guiding us thru the menu choices. The food was top notch starting with the cheese k charcuterie plate. The thin foccacia is light, crisp & airy. The pizzas and lasagna choices were absolutely delish!

Went there to celebrate my husband’s birthday as he is passionate about lasagna. We had their 8 flight lasagna tasting. To me, the vegetarian versions beat the meat & seafood ones but was the opposite for him. We started with bruschetta and ended with the ricotta cake and tiramisu. We topped our evening with a Riesling. Our waiter seemed new but was knowledgeable and provided professional service. Their quaint vibe is also appealing. I was amazed at how affordable and reasonable their prices were, especially with wine service. Highly recommend!!!!! Go before it gets too fancy and they double their prices. The only con is the bathroom was so small and lacked ventilation. You can always smell was all the others accomplished in there before your arrival.

My wife and me had an incredible dining experience, The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was top-notch. We ordered a salad and Lasagne, and both dishes were really good. I'm sorry we didn't take the Pizza and the 4 different type of lasagne. To top it off, the Flan for dessert was a heavenly treat that left me craving for more. I highly recommend this restaurant for its delicious Italian cuisine and warm ambiance

If you live for lasagna, this place is definitely must try. Their other food is excellent too. Large selection of pizza and desserts, very friendly staff and atmosphere inside is comfy and inviting. Hidden gem

Came back after 7 years. Flights of lasagna were delicious and fun to experience. Service was very personal and helpful. The back enclosed garden is a great space.

The food was amazing. You have to reserve if you want to set in the garden. You must try lasagna all types However the service was not welcoming at all (expected when the place is always full sometimes they don’t give single comers as important as regular or group ) I asked to be seated in the garden and i have been told it is full however the next costumers asked if there is availability in the garden and they were seated in the garden.

This place is SO adorable! A hidden gem imo. The garden in the back is so cute and the menu is quite extensive! Got the lasagna flight and a lychee martini which was t too sweet which is what i prefer. The lasagna flight was really good and a good portion! Also reasonably priced for the area!

Great place with a beautiful patio and cozy atmosphere. It was a little bit loud inside in the midday hours on Sunday. Lasagna Pancetta, Cavolfiore e Piselli and Pete's Banjo (Hot Spiced New York State Apple Cider with Bourbon) were really tasty 🤤

"When in New York you absolutely MUST try the pizza." My daughter and I were vacationing from Ontario, Canada and are not big pizza eaters but we felt we had to try pizza before leaving. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED!! Popped into this adorable little restaurant before going to SoHo Playhouse on Friday night. Our waitress was super sweet; offering up the coziest little window seat for us. Every table had a hand sanitizer dispenser. Nice touch! I ordered a fun coffee with liquor that often I find has sugar and/or whipped cream making a sticky mess on the side but not here - it was perfect! I think it was called the Mad Monk. We tried a mushroom pizza and it was so tasty. We weren't able to finish it but kept doing the "just one more bite" ... The desserts behind glass looked amazing. As it was the Canadian Thanksgiving that had just passed, I could not pass up the pumpkin pie and it was very nice. We people watched from our window seat, had lovely banter with the staff, didn't feel rushed and left with happy bellies. Oh, and the washroom was super clean which anyone heading to a theatre thereafter will appreciate! Lovely setting, staff and food. Thanks for a great experience!

I really like the vibe of this restaurant. I went there once before just got drinks, so came again to try their foods. The lasagna sampler is what I was most looking forward to. It’s pretty decent, I liked the shrimp one the most. We also got a mushroom pizza. It’s a little bit too saucy to my taste, but overall it’s good.

i could sit in this place and drink my way through their coffee drinks. i had the nikki, highly recommend if you like butterscotch. i got a panini, tried some lasagna, and pizza that were all very solid. however, the star of the show really was the coffee liquor menu. the downstairs was much larger than i was expecting while waiting at the host stand. great service. great option for a meal prior to the comedy cellar.

Nice ambience. It has a patio with plants and nice lamps. My sister had suggested the lasagna but I went for the panini. It was good, but maybe I should have tried the lasagna. The server suggested the cranberry sparkling water. It was very good. I even wish I had it today.

Amazing food and beautiful garden in the back. One of the better Italian places I’ve tried in nyc. Server was great and extremely attentive despite the place being slammed. Definitely try the speck with freshly baked bread. As well as the lasagna flight. Yum
