It was recommended by a friend. I thought this place was a typical rooftop bar with adults bring dates and colleagues for drinks. However the atmosphere was family friendly. I saw families hanging out, friends having dinner. Lovely ambience with fantastic New York skyline. I had a great time spending the last night in the city with my friends at this place.

Expansive bar and restaurant offering panoramas to Manhattanโ€™s cityscape. During winter one dines in heated geodesic domes of clear cellophane panels (โ€œigloosโ€). The menu is short and the food is decent. Very friendly waitstaff. The bathrooms by the rooftop are WAY too narrow; you have to exit them backwards since you cannot turn around! On site are a photo booth and automatic teller machine.

Nice location and parking wasnโ€™t that hard to find when we got there. Good idea to go after 7 when street parking is free. Went for the date night special. Felt like the waiter was rushing us in the beginning with the order. But Iโ€™m guessing he did so so that he donโ€™t fall behind because by time we left, things picked up and some people was waiting a bit to order and get their drinks. Nice view of the city. Only thing I would say is I think they should have more heaters outside. This is a nice place to go when itโ€™s maybe 65 and above. It started getting chilly even with the heater as the night went on. The tables are also really close together. The food was really tasty and the champagne was nice and chilled. Overall good experience

Great NYC rooftop. I've been here many times throughout the years. This was the first time after the pandemic and on valentine's day with the prefixed menu. The location is amazing, with phenomenal views of NYC, especially the empire state building. Inside and outside dining available. Great decor and vibes. Staff are all courteous & attentive. The prefixed menu wasn't my favorite, average bar food . But overall definitely recommend for the views, atmosphere and experience.

Although the front host was a little rude I had a great experience. Amazing views of the city. Great place to take pictures. Once we were seated inside it was a bit hard to get the waitress attention when we wanted more drinks. Overall the food and drinks were great. The dancers were amazing and there is enough space for you to dance as well. I have to go back for their sushi again. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic sky bar. Drinks were amazing. Ok prices. THE VIEW IS AMAZING. There are heating lamps and blankets to cover with in case of cold weather. The best part is that you sit wherever you want, and the place isn't posh at all. We didn't have any reservations but it was easy to find a table. Definitely we will go back there.

This is a bit of a tourist trap, and it's not the most comfortable unless you have reservations for a big table ahead of time. That said, you can luck out and get a standing table, making things pleasant while you are there. The rating is largely for the iconic view, especially since it is technically free to get up here if you choose not to purchase a drink or food. If you do choose to get something, prices are very very reasonable for Manhattan.

We had no reservations, arrived about 9pm on a Monday. You pick your table but lots are reserved. You'll have to stand and wander around to get the best pictures of the surrounding skyscrapers. You order and pay for your drinks at the window then take them to your table or bench. The drinks were good. :) Patrons seemed happy to be there.

Nice place to hangout with friends and having amazing view of city at heights. Specially at evening the empire state building view is best. About food and drink is good but I think they should add more cocktails in their menu. Frose is my best drink ๐Ÿท and you should try too.

Nice location, view and drinks. Would not go here for food. We ordered two of the hot spiked ciders. Delicious on a cool evening. View is beautiful and they do well to try and keep the area warm as well as provide blankets/robes. Food was disappointing. The chicken was dry and chewy in the sandwich. Not enough sauce. The fish tasted like a frozen fish stick with some odd pimento sauce in it. Expect the price to be pricy for food and drinks. Definitely a touristy thing.

Beloved spot by many New Yorkers and very popular among tourists as well. I love this spot. But man service here is really bad. Even now after pandemic when everything is coming back to normal and itโ€™s not that packed as before The tables are often just a mess. And no one comes to clean them. They are lucky they have a great view.

Amazing view and nice atmosphere. We went there on Thanksgiving, and we really enjoyed the vibes up there there. We booked a Thanksgiving buffet in advance, and what should I say - it wasn't worth the money. We were a party of four and paid $400 without drinks. But our server was nice and helpful.

The place was amazing! From when I walked in and told them I had reservations to making sure I was comfortable at my table. I had an option for indoor or outdoor. I really wanted outdoor even if it was cold. The views are so stunning and magical. I picked outdoor but it started raining so I was sat under a covered table. They have robes to cover yourself if youโ€™re really cold. The staff was amazing took care of us till we left. The Date Night package was so worth it, I canโ€™t wait to do it again.

This was a lovely rooftop bar that has a perfect view of the Empire State Building. Lovely atmosphere. Has Igloo dining if you make a reservations. Was well heated. Would definitely come back especially in the summer.

We rushed for happy hour (M-F @4-5pm). Note: their system has a strict cutoff for the prices, but where else can you find $9 cocktails! We didn't have any issues with seating during this time. They had heaters spread throughout and offered blankets. The lower level had amazing views by the window as well.

Went to a rooftop bar over the weekend and it had a nice view of the city and the drinks were nice! I got a frozen rose and it was good! I went during the holiday season so it was all decked out with Christmas decorations. They even had an alcoholic hot chocolate but didnโ€™t get to try it.

The view from the rooftop is awesome!! Itโ€™s incredibly nice view and chill especially in summer. The price is kind of flexible with good atmosphere. The entrance fees usually costs you 20$ with complementary drinks which is not really bad. Overall, worth it for once in a while.

This still has the bestest rooftop views and very insta worthy. So you are a tourist this is the best spot for pictures the experience but as a Local New Yorker I would say itโ€™s a v touristy experience.. we booked igloo for Galantines only to realize it is shared. There is a 90 min timer which is not mentioned at the time of booking.. the host was nice enough to give us another igloo.. The food was excellent and drinks were awesome.. the chocolate fondue was cold so a bit disappointing.. I recommend nachos , pita/hummus and pizza We had a minimum $250 minimum. They prob have the best photographer on board.. he took some amazing pictures ๐Ÿ’– One Feedback: I think they have to work on cleaner washrooms. The washrooms were very very disappointing!

Beautiful view of NYC. Cant disagree with that. They do a beautiful job setting up the atmosphere for photos and the experience. We only had apps and some cocktails for a late lunch. There really is no โ€œserviceโ€. You order drinks & food at the bar, can you pick up when your buzzer goes off. You seat yourself. When we got her food and my daughter wanted to catch up. I had to walk around to find someone. I had to ask two people and finally found someone that said they would get it for us. When they dropped offโ€ฆ it was hot sauce. So I had to go find her again and tell her that it was not ketchup. So it took about 15 minutes to just get that. But other then that, we had fun hanging out, taking pictures and just enjoying the view!

Rooftop experience for happy hour Sep. 13, 2023 It was a beautiful day. Warm and sunny with spectacular views. I was impressed by how inexpensive happy hour is here. Looking at the prices for other things it seems like happy hour is the time to go! We loaded up on food and drinks before happy hour ended and we just enjoyed each others company. The frozen margaritas (flavor additions optional) were wonderful and the burger was $10 and amazing too. Not the best burger Iโ€™ve had, but for $10 with an amazing view on the edge of midtown, what more could you want!? (Also, Iโ€™m not sure why but, I loved the little rubber duckies floating in our drinks!)

I have to admit - I'm not really into super trendy places, but I had a great time at 230. It was a Sunday afternoon (Pride day) so it wasn't too packed at all (which I prefer). It was probably because it was next to impossible to get to 5th Ave due to the parade. Regardless - I was able to attend my friend's birthday and we all had a blast!! The service and staff were fantastic. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. I couldn't have asked for anything better.

230 Fifth has been a longtime popular tourist attraction for its great view of Empire State Building. It offers great menus, including finger food items, entrees, hot and cold alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. During the winter months, they provide cabins and igloos. When you book one, you will be able to use credits for food and drink. Their service is fast, and the staff is helpful. Here is a friendly reminder of the restroom. There are some tiny toilets on the rooftop by the staircase, but if you don't mind climbing up and down, you can find a standard size one on the level below.

Like most people wanting a memorable night out in New York, the search for a decent roof top bar with great views is high on the list and although the city offers plenty of options, managing to get in to one is another thing altogether!!! However, after a bit of effort we managed to gain access to 230 Fifth which is a roof top bar that had been recommended to me. The key thing to remember is do not forget your ID as the door man is very strict about this. Although my wife had forgotten to bring hers, a spot of โ€˜negotiationโ€™ with said doorman and giving him the thrill of overly emphasising the importance of bringing our ID to us he did finally let us in. Zooming up to the top floor in the elevator you soon step out in to a fantastic and very busy roof top bar with great panoramic views of the city skyline and the Empire State Building standing very proud right in front of you. The bar had a good food menu at reasonable costs considering the location and an equally good selection of drinks. Order at bar and find a table it you are lucky and your food will be brought to you. Get up to the roof early to catch the sunset and the night setting in as both of these are spectacular and probably the main reason we all go up there in the first place. Wonderful views but the place really comes alive in the dark when all the buildings light up and the Empire State Building puts a light show on. 230 Fifth was a great bar and a great way to spend an evening in the city. Give it a go, you wonโ€™t be disappointed.

the vibes of this NYC rooftop bar are absolutely unmatchedโ€ฆ the drinks may be average priced, but the views make it worth it! Beautiful decorations, beautiful skyline, the Empire State building, and a great view of the Midtown Manhattan skyline. Definitely go if you havenโ€™t yet! they also have heated outdoor seating as well as indoor seating in the winter โ„๏ธ

This is an awesome place!!! I went there for the very first time this summer with some friends and we had a blast. Relaxed, comfy and modern atmosphere, easy to have a party or just hanging out with your friends conversation. The view from the rooftop its just stunning, I can easily say this is one of the best places in Manhattan if you are looking for a very unique view of the Empire State Building.

The place itself was amazing! There were like 4-5 bars/clubs under one roof. The rooftop was awesome with amazing views. One bartender, a woman, was so rude. I had drink tickets and she act like she didnโ€™t know what it was for. It was for the Halloween party. My friends went to the guy bartender and he took their drink ticket no problem. She was disrespectful talking some โ€œread the ticketโ€ her tone was terrible. All the other bar tenders I went to were very polite though and had no problem with my drink ticket.

Located at 230 Fifth Avenue in New York. At the entrance you will present an ID to the security guard (must be over 21 years old) and take the elevator to floor number 20 and then you will enter the roof garden of the penthouse. Garden with tables, benches, swings, and seating areas. In addition, there is a bar that serves a variety of drinks, beers, alcohol, but also non-alcoholic drinks. You can order light food like pizzas etc. But the most important thing is the view. This rooftop is located so that you can see the best buildings in the city, including the Empire State Building. You can take pictures of the surroundings even though there is a growing fence around. The prices are affordable and the atmosphere, including the music, is excellent.

The view is awesome. However, the place/bar could be improved much more. The music speakers quality is not that good, prices are high, drinks are in plastic cups instead of glass. Also the place is not that clean.

We had the prix fixe dinner visiting four son and his girlfriend. We were escorted upstairs ahead of the throngs of Santa Con folks waiting in line. The atmosphere was excellent. Great music and cool vibe. Our waiter was great. I had a pumpkin martini. My wife and the young one had jalapeno Margaritas. Our igloo was cozy. I had low expectations for the food, but everyone enjoyed their meals. Ordered my steak rare, and it was warm, juicy and tasty. We will return! Note that the igloo is acoustically loud. Not great for those hard of hearing. But for us it felt "happening." My son and his girlfriend loved it. Highlight if our big holiday outing Sat.

Returning to this stylish rooftop bar after 10 years felt like rediscovering a hidden gem. The panoramic views, chic ambiance, and attentive service made for a memorable evening. Cheers to another decade of unforgettable experiences here!

So much fun! It was a chilly eve and it rained by the end of the night so we were really glad to have gotten an igloo. Most igloos were beautiful on the inside but were reserved. We never saw anyone go into the fancy ones that were reserved but we werenโ€™t there all night, so I suppose they could have filled up later. The one that was available was less fancy-dinner vibe and more of a hanging out on a deck or by a fire sort of vibe. The food and drinks were SO good though!!! Happy Hour is an excellent deal! The chicken strips, tacos, hummus, and smores in a cup with churros were all delicious and had great portion sizes. The pina colada in a bag was yum and fun! And there are lots of cute photo ops!

The rooftop has a prime location, fun vibes, and of course amazing views. Unfortunately, I can not say the same for their food. We were shocked at how quickly they served us the guacamole. After one taste, we knew exactly why it came so quickly - it was not fresh. It was cold, lacked flavor, and served with stale tortillas. I thought the dessert might be better, nope it was worse. The brownie was hard. Verdict: eat somewhere else and come here for the views.

Very happening place in NYC, the food is excellent and very decent crowd. The service is nice and the food as well. They have indoor and rooftop both the settings available. Itโ€™s better to book in advanced to get the table. They also have the hallway so small events can also be organised here. The best beautiful view from the outdoor roof is one of My favourites. Must visit place.

Really nice rooftop. You can see the big building from around. However, it's not clear why there's a hostess if you can just sit wherever you find a place. Drinks are really good but you have to wait in line for some time to do order some.. Food is nice too and prices are affordable for a place like this (14 for a drink /9 for beers)

The spiked hot chocolate is amazing ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ Atmosphere is really fun no matter what time of year you go. I personally prefer the winter because of the hot chocolate and the warm igloos. There is a dress code, be sure to look online before you go. I've never had to pay a cover fee to get in. There's the rooftop bar and a bar on the floor below it. I recommend. Has great views of the empire state building and plenty of others as well.

Well worth a visit as you get a glorious view of the Empire State Building! We sat out on the rooftop in December but there are plenty of heaters and blankets... plus hot cider to keep you warm! It is pricey but worth it I think.

230 Fifth Ave Rooftop is a great spot to grab drinks and food with friends, especially on a nice day when you can enjoy their top floor and rooftop areas. The drinks are tasty and well-made, and the food is good. One of the unique features of this venue is the availability of bungalows, which provide a cozy and private space to hang out. The ambiance is relaxed and welcoming, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy the company of friends. You can get better views of the city, like the Empire State Building, through the glass windows of the event areas on the top floor. However, one downside is that the fences surrounding the rooftop area limit the city views you can enjoy. While there are still some views to take in, they are somewhat restricted, which is a shame given the great location of this venue. Overall, if you're looking for a fun and lively rooftop spot in NYC, 230 Fifth Ave is worth checking out. With good food, drinks, and a unique atmosphere, it's a great place to spend a few hours with friends. Just remember that the views are somewhat limited by the high fences around the rooftop area.

Igloo experience was nice, but the heater doesn't help much on cold days. Be sure to layer from head to toe minus a coat for comfort. The drinks and food were good. The service was good. The waitress could have checked in a little more, but she did the best she could considering staffing. I would definitely like to go back in the Spring or Summer months. Pictured are the brownie sundae and fried Oreos.

Great place to watch city view. You can see the all city from this place. You can drink or have dinner at top of the rooftop. Definitely you should visit this place for hanging out. If you donโ€™t wanna be at rooftop you can use other floor. You can see the club floor. Prices of goods look normal.

Interesting deal when we booked for 4 late August. The beer wasnt cool (for brazilian standards) but the frozen margarita hit the spot. Cant say much about the food because we just went for some drinks and Nachos. Left about 7pm and the line was massive to get in.

I would give this place 10 stars, but google only let me give 5. It was absolutely insane. We entered at 20:00 and leave at 4:00. The view at the roof top is amazing and thereโ€™s a chill environment, after that we get downstairs to the party that was incredible! Itโ€™s kind of expensive but it totally worth it.

The view is amazing especially at night. The price for beer and cocktails are normal like in other bars, but without the m nice view. The best time for a visit is a our before the happy hour ends. So maybe you get a table to se the sunset.

An open rooftop, great view. The railing is covered in vegetation, so slightly obscures the view, but still the view is amazing. In addition, the bar on the floor below is covered, with huge windows and stunning views. Lots of young and beautiful people, crowded but happy with good atmosphere and good music. Recommends the frozen margaritas served in a plastic bag with straw.
