When we arrived just before 9, there was a bit of a line, but we were in within 10 minutes. We sat down and immediately got our drinks, and then not long after ordered. It didn't even take 15 minutes before the food arrived, and wow. I got the chicken and waffles. I kept my hopes low and expected small, slightly soggy pieces of chicken, but was super impressed. It came with three huge pieces of chicken, all of which were super crispy. The waffle was light and fluffy and just really tasty. I absolutely see why this place is so highly rated! Absolutely recommend if you're willing to wait a little to get in!

Not far from our hotel was this highly-rated Westway Diner. A group of 5, we arrived for brunch, and our timing was perfect as we were promptly seated and a line quickly formed behind us. Understandably, the restaurant is keen on turning its tables over, but I would call the service “prompt”, but not “rushed”. Everything arrived quickly… drinks, orders, food, refills, follow up… but we never felt pressured to exceed our own pace. Our orders consisted of meat lovers omelette with a side of hollandaise sauce, California omelette, three eggs breakfast, avocado toast, and a chicken sandwich. All the food was piping hot and fresh, flavorful, excellent portions. The breakfast potatoes are particularly good. Spiros was our server and he did an excellent job. Overall, a very filling meal, of high quality food and service, and a good price. So glad we found this place.

Unfortunately, an awful experience. I came to this diner on purpose before leaving NY as it appears as “one of the best diners in the city” if you search on google. Wow. They have a long menu, but somehow the waiters looked to be in a rush and came to my table twice in a matter of a minute to make me order. Had to order something I already knew as they would just keep coming back so that’s already a big negative aspect. Sure the food was ready in 5 minutes but it looked like someone ate half of my potatoes (pic) plus they were either burned or completely tasteless. Never understood why potatoes are so bad at every diner I’ve been to. The lox eggs benedict were bad too, they also never asked how I’d like the eggs to be cooked, and I was always asked this at any other brunch spot. Never had such a sour lox served before, I just need to hope I won’t get sick. The portion was so small (yes in a diner that supposedly serves big portions) that I had to order pancakes as I was still hungry. 2 plain pancakes? $10. Extremely rude cashier (looked to be the owner/manager?) too that doesn’t even look at you while she just reaches for your bill. Everything done in such a rush that I have no idea what % of tips she included. Overall I can’t even say that the place was very clean, my plate was impossible to touch because of how oily the bottom part was. I do not recommend it at all.

Very good menu for a diner. Although it is a historical place (think Seinfeld), there zero pretentiousness and no memorabilia on walls. Just super fast and polite service and great diner food. We got basic breakfast staples and were happy.

Great breakfast place with lots of food to choose from. The waffles and pancakes were delicious. The diner is busy, so in the morning you might have to wait 5 minutes for a seat to be available. The staff is very fast with your orders, so you never have to wait long. Not the cheapest place, but the prices were fair overall.

Very diner atmosphere with guys at the door making the experience of waiting in line a pleasure. Food was ample and filling and good. Huge menu to meet all your breakfast and lunch desires.

I've visited this area of New York several times but have never stopped at this diner. Omg the energy here feels like I'm at home. The staff is quick and friendly and the food is delicious! I ordered french toast & eggs, and I feel like I got great quality for the price.

It's New York. The waiter rushed my order, which was fine. He brought my coffee and food, fast. Fine again. He did not return to check on me at all. No coffee refills. No check. The table next to me was the same thing. We both walked to the counter to get coffee and our checks. Food was great but service was poor. P.S. Omelet comes w/o cheese. Even after requesting cheese, they forgot.

GREAT spot for a large menu full of great stuff! Came here two mornings in a row with a group of 6. We all got a random assortment of foods- chicken salad sandwiches, omelets, waffles, burgers, soups, etc. I'm usually wary of places with massive menus but both days nothing disanointed! All solid and a great portion size for some hungry tourists who had been walking around all day. The place was packed and the service was fairly prompt, Our whole group was in, eating, and out within the hour. Highly suggest for some good grub at good prices too

There was quite a long line when we got here on a Saturday morning but it wasn’t too much of a wait. We got in like in 15 minutes and the food arrived super quick. We really enjoyed the American breakfast food here and the service as well. The pancake stack is our favorite of all, soft and fluffy! Recommend you try this place out if you are looking for a diner experience nearby Time Square!

A five minute wait resulted with a great breakfast for me and my wife. The waiter Ernesto was worth the wait alone. Try it, the menu is massive. Free refills of good coffee, great menu and lovely staff.

When we arrived there was no wait. There are a lot of options on the menu. There was not a long wait on our food either, we got a chicken wrap & an open faced roast beef sandwich. Both were very good. Our waiter did kind of disappear on us for 15ish minutes, and I had to ask for a refill from another waiter because of this. But other than we enjoyed our visit!

One of the best diners in NYC. Friendly and professional staff. Prices normal/high for Manhattan but justified. Lots of substitution possibilities without being overcharged. Eggs were delicious.

Delicious food, for a good value. It’s a traditional family diner and the atmosphere is exactly what you’d expect. Lovely staff with constant coffee refills.

I was having dinner with my wife in this cozy restaurant in Manhattan (their Cajun chicken is very good and the desert cakes come in huge portions) A fentanyl junkie entered the place and started to bother us. 3 of their staff came and EPICALLY imobilized the dude and threw him out (like a bag of apples) from the restaurant. 5 star service.

They have tons of options. They let me create my own sandwich. Tasked okay, but I am not an expert on what ingredients go well together. The ingredients quality was good, they were fast - everything was fresh and clean. I liked that. I will come back. It’s a nice breakfast diner.

Everything was perfect! Jeff welcomed us with a smile, and the menu was very large and super tasty. The westway omelette was delicious and the side potatoes had a nice grilled flavor. The granola bowl was very tasty and of good quality.

Went to this diner instead of my usual go to diner and I wasn’t disappointed. The staff was much friendlier and the food was better quality. Which brings better flavor. The portion was quite large. The vibe was totally chill and laid back. The food came out super quick and is very reasonably priced. I am very happy with my experience.

The place is okay, but everything about the place including the waiters are average. I didn’t see anything that worth another visit, and waiter’s definitely need to be better trained how be friendly. On top of that the only restaurant I saw that adds 18% tips for a very bad service. At the end the restaurant double charged by “mistake”.

Deserves a 5 star. Reasonably priced food. Cappuccino was the best I ever had. Fruit pancakes, turkey sausage, and Belgium waffles were amazing. Prompt service. Very courteous folks. Amazing experience!

Pretty good overall. They serve up all the traditional breakfast favorites. The portions were good. The food is pretty standard fare. I didn't see our server for a while and when I asked for a coffee refill, he seemed bothered by my request. Worth another try another time.

I ordered the eggs Benedict and was pretty disappointed. The Hollandaise sauce had split and tasted off and the poached egg was undercooked and had a lot of uncooked egg white. On the upside, the staff was very friendly and the food came out quickly.

During our small vacation to NYC, my husband took the family to Westway Diner for breakfast. It's a great family owned restaurant, that serves homemade food. The portions are big, so be prepared to take home leftovers.

No frills family-style diner. Fast service to get you what you need but doesn’t make you feel rushed. Chicken and waffles is a bomb and a very large serving. Definitely feeds two (just add an extra waffle if you want). Pancakes were also good. Iced mocha was meh but not too worried about it since there’s a thousand other places in NYC to get an iced coffee.

The freshness of white onion and green onions in the omelette! I came around 8:30 Monday morning, and the restaurant had a guy at the front door organizing the queue for tables. It didn't take too long before our turn. The restaurant is bustling with customers and orders, and well lit by the surrounding glass buildings, which gives a great NYC morning vibe. I ordered the Western omelette and a crepe. The ingredients were so fresh that I can still taste it when I am writing this review. The sizable portion gave me enough calories for the long walk of the day. After the omelette, I moved onto the crepe. It's the real sweet dark chocolate that added highlights to the meal. The staff are very efficient. I observed it took less than a minute from a customer leaving the table to the table all cleaned up and ready for the next customer. Marked down as a favorite on my Google maps and we will be back.

It's a classic American Diner. The menu was full of variety for every age. Good options for vegetarians also. Enjoyed the Irish Coffee with a lavish brunch option. Service and Staff were warm and friendly.

Pretty old-school diner in terms of food (they serve pretty much anything you can imagine). As for quality - mixed bag. The pancakes are excellent and reliable. The disco fries are a bit too greasy (too much sauce). The chicken noodle soup flavor feels a bit artificial, but is okay. Service is pretty fast.

Best breakfast we could find for reasonable prices and staff were attentive and friendly. Our group had ordered a steak and eggs, eggs Benedict, pancakes and waffles and every plate was empty by the end. Definitely will be back!

One of the best place for breakfast if you are staying in TimeSquare or nearby. Their servings are Texas size. We really liked the waffle chicken. The chicken was perfectly juicy and went well with waffle and honey.

Wanted a NYC diner experience and I think we got it. Beat the lineup, got in quick, seated at the counter which we wanted anyway, coffee was great, service was great, food was great. Also hugely impressed by the work ethic by all the staff, go go go, seemed happy, like a big team. Can't imagine working that hard all day.

I came here because IHOP has gotten way overpriced. I normally only get pancakes, eggs, & bacon. Which is exactly what I got here, and it was tasty. Nothing beats IHOP’s signature pancakes, but this places comes close enough for me. & they are not overpriced. My meal roughly cost $15.. I think. Regardless, it was tasty, and more affordable that IHOP.

Great breakfast location. They were super busy but our wait was not long and service was efficient. Food was good but the strawberry and Nutella crepes stole the show.

We was sat down quickly and The food was impeccable, great portion size and tasty too, our server was very attentive and was there to refill drinks as soon as needed. Cheap too, little over $40 for 2 breakfasts 2 drinks and 20% Tip. Normally when the food and service are incredible I'd rate 5 stars, but felt like the atmosphere was a little off, the lady behind the counter was less than approachable barely spoke while paying and just brought down the vibe of an otherwise incredible breakfast.

This was my favorite breakfast place. Fast, friendly service. Typical crowd, but they managed it to perfection! Exactly the diner experience I prefer. Here's our experience; +Eggs Benedict +Crepes +Breakfast Potatoes (I hate them, but these were great!) +Waffle +Service and staff +Cost -Coffee (OK) -Crowd (BUT WAS HANDLED EXCELLENTLY!)

This is your typical American diner they have a huge selection of food from your typical breakfast menus to sandwiches and Burgers. I got the eggs Benedict and my son got the California club. We also got the curly fries, which was $1 upgrade but it was worth it. Both were very good the eggs Benedict was a little hard to cut in the Togo tin but overall the holiday sauce and the eggs were made right. The California club was a three stack with chicken, pesto, avocado spread and B.L.T. I got the food Togo. I was able to order online and bring it back to my apartment. Which was a plus for me

We were staying not far from the Westway Diner on a recent visit and saw the the reviews, so thought we’d try it. So glad we did, great food, great service and a very friendly atmosphere! The corn beef hash was a great hangover cure, and the waffles are to die for. Thoroughly recommended.
