I was there on the night of my birthday on 3/2/2022 and was with my son & nephew. My nephew arrived first and was able to stand in line for us because it was definitely packed. Once my son and I arrived, my nephew was at the front of the line already and the hostess was able to seat us as soon as we joined my nephew in line. We sat right at the catwalk in the center of the restaurant where the singers mainly performed. Their food options varied from breakfast items, nachos, burgers and my nephew actually was able to order their 'Beyond Meat' burger for vegans. Plenty of food choices for different types of customers. Our food came out pretty quickly considering they were fully packed with a long line outside the door. The singers were all amazing. The vibe in this restaurant was so much fun and I could not have picked out a better place to have my birthday dinner. Honestly, I could not have created a better birthday party for myself had I tried! The pictures do not give this place the justice it deserves. I wish I had the option to post the many videos I took that night. I will definitely return every single time I'm in NYC!

Absolutely worth a visit. We went for breakfast because queues are much shorter at this time. During the evening and lunchtime period you can expect to wait a very long time for a table here. A good choice of food which was lovely and tasty. Our server was friendly and helpful and had a great singing voice. Yes, the waiting staff perform for you continuously singing show tunes while you eat. All staff are hoping to get into Broadway and work as waiting staff at Ellen's being paid only as waiting staff, in the hope of being spotted. And many have been. Overall an amazing experience not to be missed if in NYC.

Servers who sing! Very good diner style food with attentive service. It’s bustling and we had no issues with our service time. Food was cooked good and had flavor. The servers sing and your tips help them attend classes to help them achieve their dreams on Broadway and that’s what NYC is all about. Prepare to wait in line or call ahead to get a seat because it gets crowded. Will definitely be back!

The atmosphere is very fun and is quite interactive! One minute your waiter/waitress is taking your order and then singing on stage the next! While Ellen’s more known for their talented singing waitstaff, they also serve some delicious diner classics and alcohol! There’s usually a line to get in, but it’s worth it for the fun!

Drop everything and go to this diner!! This literally was one of my top favorite things I did in New York City while I was there for Xmas time! The entertainment you get from going to this diner is amazing! It’s like getting a taste of Broadway. I couldn’t stop smiling while I was here. All the waiters and waitresses could sing and perform very well. Adam was our waiter and he was the best! He has a really neat old school singing voice and he was super friendly. The food was good too. I got the Kobe Beef burger, my daughters got the chocolate chip pancakes and the fruity pebble pancakes. Highly recommend this place more than any other! I can’t wait to go back one day!! Go follow me on YouTube @ Sarah Braxton for more :)

All the waiters are very talented and while working each of them takes a "break" to sing. They dream about working in the entertainment world and they use the tips to pay for the singing and acting classes. It's an amazing experience, also because at some point you'll probably see "your" waiter entertaining the crowd. This is absolutely a must see in my opinion. The line outside is very long but goes fast

Had an absolute blast at Ellen's Stardust Diner on Broadway! 🌟 This place is not your ordinary diner; it's a whole experience wrapped up with a bow of nostalgia and Broadway flair. The singing and dancing waiters were just phenomenal - each performance was so engaging, it felt like a mini Broadway show with every order. Seriously, these talented folks could easily be on the actual Broadway stage - And some if not most of them will be! The time just flew by - I was so caught up in the performances, I hardly noticed how long we were there. And let's talk about the food for a sec - so, so good! Classic diner fare but with that extra touch of love that makes all the difference. The atmosphere was just buzzing with energy and excitement, making the whole dining experience unforgettable. I'm already planning my next visit back to Ellen's. If you're looking for a side of spectacular performances with your meal, this is the spot. Broadway magic plus delicious food? Count me in any day! 🎤🍔🎶

An amazing experience. Food portions are very large, so don't over order! Nachos were great. Singing waiter experience was so unique and exciting and the waiters have such raw talent, its great to see. Gave 4 stars because whilst it is a nice idea as a restaurant, at times it feels like the manager is begging for money for her staff which is slightly annoying and you feel guilt tripped into giving money, when the restaurant itself is actually very expensive and the waiters would also get tips! So to be honest, it seems like the restaurant should fund the waiters anyway, why does the customer have to pay for every aspect of the waiters wage and life?!

The atmosphere is far and above the reason to come here. The service was good overall, the food is mediocre, as I expected coming in. It was my wife's birthday, and the emcee made it a point to call her by name a few times throughout his audience engagement, which was nice. The singing waitstaff was great, especially Emily. That girl is going places. Our waiter, Alex, was also good both in his attentiveness and singing ability.

This place is amazing for entertaining. There is a live line outside. It usually moves fast. The food is okay but I can tell you that you are going there mostly for the show. The servers that are singing are cool! I love it. Our family was sitting on the second floor right in the middle, so, we had the best view of everything. I loved the show. P.S. their Cheesecake was amazing.

We saw some of the lower starred reviews on here and we’re worried whether it was the right thing to do to go for breakfast here on our last morning in NYC. But it definitely was! We didn’t want to wait in a queue for ages, so planned to get there early. We knew it opened at 7:00, so thought if we get there for 6:40 we should avoid a queue. We were a bit late and arrived at just after 6:50. There was a queue! However, we were lucky and just managed to get in with the first tranche of people (once the place is full, it works on a one in, one out approach, so we could have been waiting 30 mins or more for people to finish food). The waiting on staff are people who want to make it in Broadway and need to make some extra cash. The service was great, the singers were awesome and really entertaining and the food was really good too (half eaten in the pics 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣). It was no more expensive than other diners that we had been too, but they do ask for a voluntary donation for the singing waiting on staff (who don’t get paid any more than regular waiting on staff). There is no pressure for this, but I (even as a tight Welsh man!) was happy to contribute. I highly recommend this place!!

What a surprise! My friend recommended we try this diner, and what a treat… it’s yummy diner food (burgers and fries) paired with Broadway! Each server is an aspiring Broadway singer/actor/actress with each performing throughout our visit, and they come right up to your table. So there is a lot of interaction and audience participation. I now understand why the wait is so long to get in - this place is a lot of fun and our party of 6 was there for over 2 hours. Come hungry and ready to have a great time! They serve alcoholic beverages as well.

We came here to have dinner and were seated at the second floor. The atmosphere was great, as well as the performances. Service was a bit slow, but it’s understandable given that they are also singing. As dishes we chose eggs Benedict (that were pretty average, but came with delicious tater tots) and Rachel’s Mac and cheese (which were okay, but not too good). This is a place that you choose not for the food but for the show, so we left happy (even though we wouldn’t be back).

If I lived in NY I would be here as often a possible. The talent is outstanding! Such a fun atmosphere. The food and drinks are just ok but good enough to enjoy and keep a table occupied so that we could sit for hours. I like the mix of music, the way each performer picks their own and I loved all the duets and group fun. I was sad to be seated upstairs and away on our first night but quickly realized the performers are everywhere and they make sure to post to every single person. So fun!

We didn't know what we were getting ourselves into, but what a fun dinner! Your servers are your entertainment making for a divine dining experience. We went on a weekend night. The wait outside was about 45 minutes. Once seated inside we were greeted and given menus by our server who was also up next to perform. There was a slight delay in ordering but we didn't feel slighted because we were enjoying the ambiance. The food was enjoyable, overpriced but you are paying for the experience. About $125 for 3 people. Our visit here was a fantastic mistake. Would totally recommend to Tourists in NYC.

Incredible 50s themed diner with amazing food and very very fast service. But the best thing is almost all the servers perform! Really good signers, the whole thing is an amazing spectacle. They just bring you a bunch of fries then get the mic and start signing with the most beautiful voice you will ever hear, for sure they aren't amateur. We really enjoyed our dinner there we went only for the food we had no idea we were going to experience one of the best dinners in our lives. Note: servers are only paid as servers not as signers so they really need your tip.

Really fun dining experience with your waiter being the star of the show! We loved the performances and the food was pretty good! Don't be deterred if you see a big line outside, it moves very quickly and all of the tables have a great view of at least some part of the performances! On an aside, we loved the individual performances, were a bit confused when the boss talked for a bit long about tipping them so they could all get acting and singing lessons paid for. We all tipped anyway, but would've preferred to tip and keep hearing the amazing singers instead!

Went there on a Sunday early afternoon and it wasn’t a long wait at all. The staff are very accommodating and attentive. We were a party of 5. The food was really good. I got a classic Bacon and Eggs with French Toast! My son got the Peanut Butter Cup Pancakes!! We loved every thing! The tater tots are really good too! But everyone knows the stars of the show are the servers! They are AMAZING and they put on a great show! There is lots of singing along and clapping and excitement! It’s hard to eat because they put on such an amazing performance! It is a definite must do when you visit Times Square!!

We came for the atmosphere and we left not disappointed. Great waiters-singers combination! They sang all types of popular songs and eternal classics. They are all brilliant singers! Arrived at 7.3pm, we entered immediately without any queuing. Service was fast and kind. I don’t know whether it helped the fact we came a bit off season. Menu is varied and typical of a diner: we had mac&cheese and a regular hamburger.

This place was an absolute gem! The service was great, the food was good, the singing was fantastic and fun! Went for breakfast since we saw this place from our hotel room window, not knowing what it would be like so it was quite a pleasant surprise! The employees get turns to sing/perform throughout their shifts and donations collected to benefit the future of those employees looking to make it to Broadway shows. With a vast history I started learning during my visit by the manager (who visited every table to check in and spent time having meaningful conversations with everyone). Sitting on the top level was fun and next time I visit NYC I hope to sit on the bottom!

Unique dining experience at this restaurant, where servers deliver true entertainment by singing as if we were part of a Broadway show. Visited around 4pm and waited only about 20 minutes for a table. While the food was average and slightly pricier than nearby spots, the lively atmosphere and the singing servers made it completely worth the visit. A memorable and entertaining dining venture that stands out in the area.

Stopped by here for the experience. It was a lot of fun and I’m so glad my friend and I visited! We didn’t have to wait in line for too long before we got seats. We were able to order and the food didn’t take too long. It came out hot and accurate. It’s diner food…but it was quite yummy. The staff singing were all absolutely incredible! There is so much talent here!

A really great place for anyone who knows any Broadway music. The food is good, the boozy shakes are awesome, and the music ranges from "everybody knows this song" to "only true fans will understand". Great performances either way! Lots of fun before seeing a show.

OMG this place is Amazing! Be prepared to queue to get in as it's so popular. Once you're in you can see why. The food is fantastic, but the entertainment is out of this world. We had such fun singing along as the staff performed numbers from all kinds of musicals...& They are so So good! There's a reason why some of them end up on Broadway. Well worth a visit just to experience the food, but the whole experience overall makes this a MUST when in NYC!

Cool place, but the wait staff's talent is in their singing rather than service. Our server mostly disappeared, never brought us our drinks (water and a coffee). And they automatically add 20% gratuity for the poor service. The food was ok, definitely had worst, but also have had better. But I'm glad we stopped anyway because the staff really is super talented, some really phenomenal voices.

I went here on a friend's recommendation (pre-covid). I waited in line, with two toddlers, and once we got inside we were seated on a top floor seat where the only way the kids could see was to lean over a railing which I wasn't comfortable with. I asked if another seat was possible because the kids wanted to watch the signing but the waitress huffed at me (which really wasn't unexpected) and said: you have to check upfront. So I lugged everything and two toddlers back downstairs and out the door. I wouldn't have been so annoyed other than by the time we left the kids were ravenous, when we got outside one broke down into a screaming fit, and we ended up at McDonald's because there wasn't time to find something else. Definitely don't recommend this location if you've got young children -- not worth the wait to possibly be stuck somewhere the kids can't even enjoy the experience without one possibly falling over a railing.

Very touristy. Was recommended from people in the UK but the food was average and very pricy for what it was. The singers were good but because there was a queue outside, it felt like we were rushed in and out. If you love good food, this isn’t your place!

This place is awesome! The wait staff are all amazing singers as well as amazing hosts. Every few minutes they'll get someone up to sing a song and the whole crowd loves it, especially the kids! They sing anything from Bon Jovi and Bohemian Rhapsody to Hamilton and Little Shop of Horrors. It's such a great environment and the energy here is always exciting! There are plenty of diners to go to, but if you want good food AND a fun experience, definitely go here!

My friends and I came to the restaurant on the last night before they shut down this month. We had the most amazing experience. We felt like we got a true Broadway experience, which we didn’t expect to have upon going to NYC amidst this pandemic. Not only were the waiters on top of their game, but the food was DELICIOUS!! Wow! I will rave about this cafe for a long time.

Do not miss this awesome diner! We arrived after an 8pm show and was shocked to get a seat immediately. Super friendly service. But the entertainment?! Amazing. This made our evening so much fun! The servers did such an amazing job singing - we absolutely loved it! Our group enjoyed the nachos, the mushroom burger and the chicken sandwich. The brownie was great too.

My friend suggested this place to us and I am so glad she did, it's amazing! The atmosphere is light and cheerful, the staff are friendly and polite. We didn't have to queue too long for a table and were seated quickly, our server was brilliant and checked up on us throughout our meal. The food is stunning (expensive but totally worth the price), the talent is unreal and the MC will never fail to make you laugh. Would definitely recommend to others searching for a wonderful experience and meal!

It was a breakfast with a view. Very loud when performances on. Food was cold and over priced. Went to see what it’s all about. Good for groups of people who’s looking for entertainment. I won’t be back as it’s not for me. Service was excellent though. One portion pancakes, eggs and bacon, apple juice and sparkling water €43. Large portion good for sharing.

Heart of NYC! If you wanna feel a real American comedy as you see on TV, this is the place to be ☻ All the waiters are singers, not only they’re dynamic and efficient but also they’re competent and got talent. Didn’t have time to take pictures of our dishes, but definitely super big and fat dinner!!! Thanks for this moment.

I give 4 stars instead of 5 only for the long wait outside. I understand that it is a true attraction for tourists, but still we had to wait one hour to be inside and we were lucky because a table for two was free and we skipped a small part of the queue, since we were the first couple in the line. I liked the food especially the tater tots (totally in love with them). The NY cheesecake cake was terrific 😍. But the icing on the cake here is the wonderful entertainment! Those waiters really deserve Broadway! I can't really explain, you have to try it. At the end it makes a bit the waiting in the cold worth it.

Loved this place ❤️ ♥️ 💖 🎤🎶🎵🥞🍔🥓🧇🥚🍳🫔🍌😋. The atmosphere was incredible 😲, the food was delicious 😋 and the service was excellent. Only thing I would say is that it's hard to get out when you need to find your server to pay as you can only pay your server that served you, which is terrible if you want to rush off.

Great spot for entertainment. Wasn't a long wait to be seated. The whole thing about this diner is just amazing and unique. Got seated straight away, waited quite a while for order to be taken but once it was food came fairly quickly. Food was delicious and lots of it! The singers were great. Wasnt impressed by the gift shop, it was behind a cabinet so couldn't choose easily, I'm sorry to say the staff weren't helpful with this at all, so didnt purchased anything. I would recommend this restaurant though 😊

Ellen's Stardust Diner is a great place to eat, the service is very good. I highly recommend it. Also if you like Broadway, the staff will sing different songs from different Broadway shows. If you like Diners And/or Broadway, Then you should enjoy Ellen's Stardust Diner. By the way, I recommend you try the Egg Cream and /or the Mozzarella Triangles. They are very delicious! 🙂😋

Food and entertainment was amazing! Your waitress or waiter will sing popular songs in between given amazing service. They do not do reservations nor give wait times so if there is a line outside just wait and they will get you in as soon as possible. I went at 8 pm on a Friday night and the line moved much quicker than I expected (25-30 minute wait). I had a party of 5. If you have a party of 2 you will get in even quicker.

Worth the wait! We waited 30minutes on a Tuesday afternoon but it was the best food and entertainment! Loved the singers they were phenomenal! Hope they get to make their dreams come true on the broadway stage! The food was so delicious too and the MC was awesome! Totally recommend this if you are in the city it is a MUST DO. The only downside of our experience was that we sat so close to the strangers next to us (would’ve like a both or something not so close to them) but I understand because it was so busy!

Ellen’s Stardust Diner has been on my NYC bucket list for years, and I finally had the chance to visit last night! We were a bit worried when we saw the long line wrapped around the corner, but it was only 5:30pm and figured we would take the chance. I was honestly impressed at how quickly the lined moved - it was only about a 40 min wait, and the staff was great at going down the line and asking for party sizes to get people in as quickly as possible. It was a hot day, and unfortunately the air conditioning was not working, so it was pretty stuffy in the diner. It was tough to find something appealing on the menu because the thought of hot, heavy food wasn’t exactly what I wanted. I landed on a corned beef sandwich and my mom chose the Reuben. We came in with low expectations for the food, expecting it to be more about the experience, but it really wasn’t bad! I had a great milkshake too, and my mom enjoyed her egg cream. The wait staff was so talented with every song they sang, and it was like a constant party. Our small table was very close to the parties next to us, and the wait staff was often dancing on the booth right behind me, so as long as you’re comfortable with that, you’ll have a great time! It really was a unique experience that I’m glad I did, especially because my mom and I really enjoy Broadway.

Don't come here if you're thinking you'll be getting a gourmet meal, come here for some good comfy food. I.E burger, French fries, etc. Also, make sure you have lots of patience as your sweet waiter might be singing and your order make take up over 30 minutes to come in. I enjoyed and would bring a friend who's visiting new york. Maybe that's a good place to bring a friend who's visiting new york and want to experience something you can only see in New York.

Worth the wait! Tine lived up to our expectation. Fun for everyone, whether with the kids and a big family or friends, or even alone! Note that the kids menu is not available until 11 AM. All the performances were top-notch. Shout out to our waitress Emily that crushed a tune from the little mermaid. Don’t miss the signature French toast! Donations of at least $20 are encouraged, but not forced. It helps offset the cost of dance lessons and singing lessons that the staff need while they work their way onto Broadway.

Ellen's Stardust Diner was a delightful experience with its unique concept and vibrant atmosphere. The meal portions were impressively large — even as a big guy, I found the sweet brownie and burger to be more than enough. Both were delicious! The lights set the perfect mood, and the singing staff was incredibly talented, making it a fun and memorable dining experience. Highly recommend for a unique and enjoyable meal!

What an experience! It is just not a dinner for me. I went there around 110pm and watched a great show while having my dinner. All the staff sang different songs with high cheers. Portions are a bit bigger than average but very tasty, definitely worth the money.

Once we got in (45 minute wait on a Monday morning 😬) it was brilliant! The atmosphere and the staff are incredible, with the live entertainment being the absolute high point. The food was very good too, cinnamon pancakes were really good as was the holy moly French toast. The chicken on the waffles was a bit on the dry side for our taste, but aside from that I would highly recommend a visit! Especially if you like Disney soundtracks!!

Coolest dining experience ever. Singing waitstaff all uber-talented and entertaining. Food really good. Prices a bit steep, but hey, it's NYC, baby! You're paying for the experience. And it was worth every penny!!

I just went in because it was a cold winter day and needed soup. The Chicken Matzo Ball Soup was good and the vegetables were fresh. The entertainment was over the top. The staff do indeed sing and had to audition for their jobs. They do have aspirations to move on a few meters and block on the Great White Way outside the diner. I personally wish them all the best on their endeavors. (Be a good sport and tip them nicely). If one wishes to experience Broadway without paying a considerable sum for the tickets this place can be great meal and a show. One may even have the pleasure of meeting and interacting with a future Tony winner.

Food was great! I had fish fry and salad instead of fries, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and veggies for my friend. All delicious but the singing waiters were why we came. It was a Broadway show, up close & personal!! So fun. Definitely worth the wait.

The line looked long halfway down the block, but we were seated in 20ish min. These aspiring or out of work actors and singers are what make Broadway great. Go see them, have great food and leave big tips. You won't be disappointed.

Fun spot for a bite! Think of it as a karaoke bar, except it's a diner and every singer can sing very, very well. The performances are fun, and the waiters will wander around or engage the audience as they sing. The food itself seems decent. Prices are also surprisingly reasonable given that you're getting a meal and a show in a very touristy area (my meal was $25 after tax/tip). Lines can get long during peak hours, so plan around that.

Probably one of the best dining experience ever. Such great talent and amazing singing. Beyond worth the wait in the lineup. The homer burger was something I would have never guessed tasted so good. Would totally order that again next time! If in NYC, a must stop for everyone.

We made the perfect choice for this evening. We waited 45 minutes to get in at the corner of Broadway and 51st and it was worth it. It's like you're in a Broadway musical, but you can also dine with the music. Great sounds, great waiters. Thanks to David who took care of our table. They are all like diamonds. Millshakes and desserts are very delicious. The plates are full. We had a great 2 hours. Our thanks to the entire team.

So much fun. Would definitely recommend and if we came back to New York we would be visiting again. The food was lovely I had pasta my daughter had a chicken burger loads of food we were stuffed. The singers were out of this world what a show whilst eating. Definitely worth a tip in the bucket to help towards their acting and singing lessons.. highly recommend
