Grandmaster Caz and Rayza were excellent hosts on this tour and kept the group engaged at all times. Caz's rep speaks for itself and he was super charismatic and entertaining. it was dope to hear him drop knowledge of all the places we stopped at and Hip-Hop in general. There were some interactive portions that got the crowd hyped and involved and it was super entertaining. From the breaking tutorial to the cipher at the end, it was the highlight of my trip to NY. If you love Hip-hop culture in any way shape or form, make sure you do the tour. Cant wait to come back and check out the other tours from Hush.

We participated in this black owned company’s tour on Saturday, August 13, 2022. We embarked on the Birthplace Place of Hip Hop bus tour. We purchased tickets online prior to. This tour starts at the Museum of the City of New York. It began promptly at 11 AM after all of the guests were gathered. You are allowed to take a bathroom break at the start of the tour at the museum. Rayza was our tour guide who is a popular rapper in the New York City area. He was very lively, entertaining, and knowledgeable about New York and Hip Hop culture. When we started our tour, we began across from the projects. Rayza told us an interesting story about a man who had an alligator and a crocodile that the SWAT team had to get out of his apartment. Once we made our way down the street, we went to the Graffiti Wall of Fame. This is where many talented graffiti artists have tagged the wall with their amazing art. This was at a schoolyard playground where we watched a performance by another Hush Hip Hop tour employee. The employee was Mighty Mouse who performed a breakdancing set for us. He also had a class of volunteers, who he taught how to do a simple breakdance routine. This was also where we met our main tour guide, which was Reggie Rich. Reggie Rich is a pioneer in the hip-hop game! He has had famous rappers such as Jay Z and LL Cool J sample his work in the past. After this, we made our way to the charter tour bus. Along the way, we learned about the four elements of hip-hop which include: DJing, Breakdancing, Graffiti art, and the MC. Unfortunately, it was very difficult to hear Rayza and Reggie Reg speaking during our charter bus ride. This was because Rayza didn’t have a microphone headset. Also Reggie Reg’s microphone wasn’t that adequate in sound. Our first stop was Apollo Theater. We learned a bit about the history of the start of Apollo, which has showcased many hip-hop artists. Apollo Theater is a notable landmark and attraction in New York City. Our second stop was Rucker Park. This is where many notable basketball legends have played street-ball. Throughout the years, these players have shown their talent extends past the professional basketball courts. Basketball greats who have played here include: Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James to name a few. There are also many tournaments that have been held here and it is a staple of the Harlem community. We learned that Harlem has the best street ball. Our third stop was Yankee Stadium. We learned the old Giants Stadium was originally in Harlem, but now Yankee Stadium is in its current site in the Bronx. Throughout each of these stops, the Hush Hip Hop tours employees took group photos of all of us together. We did have a bit of time to take our own photos at each stop, which Reggie Ridge encouraged. The Hush Hip Hop tour staff was very engaging with us on the bus. We did chants, the employees rapped, tour participants rapped, and they played Hip Hop music. We also got vital information on Hip Hop history and culture. This includes knowledge about founding figures that have pioneered the genre. The tour guides continued to reiterate that Hip Hop was supposedly founded on August 11, 1973. Our fourth stop that was the birthplace of Hip Hop. We were able to go to the actual building where DJ Herc had the first Hip Hop party. He’s also the first to do the breaking of a record. They have a beautiful mural in the space where he hosted the Hip Hop party, which we were able to take photos of. There’s also a Hip Hop Blvd sign right in front of the building. Rayza stated he would send all of the photos from our tour day if we DM’d him on Instagram, which we attempted to do. This was our last stop before we were dropped off in Manhattan. The overwhelming theme of this tour is Hip Hop is a culture and genre. We greatly enjoyed this tour, but feel the tour guides definitely need to have better microphones and sound systems. I would recommend this tour to anyone in New York who would like to celebrate Hip Hop as a genre and learn even more about this amazing culture!

This was my 2nd Hush Tour - did the bus one with Grandmaster Caz up around Harlem and the Bronx 2 years ago. As a hip-hop head since 1986, it's a true honor to have some of hip-hop's pioneers giving a tour of important locations that includes their own lived experiences of the earliest days of the culture. Reggie Reg of the Crash Crew was our guide, and knows almost everyone in the neighborhoods we walked through! Of course, he knows the hip-hop history too because he helped make it!! Highly recommended, and honestly it needs to be an essential part of any hip-hop fan's trip to New York! Salute, Reggie Reg! Respect due

An absolute must for anyone in New York- this tour is amazing for both tourists and locals! Gives you a great idea of not just the birthplace of hip hop, but other culturally important and relevant places that hold important pieces of history! Our guide was amazingly energetic, talented, and knowledgeable. I even brought my parents (who have limited interest or experience with hip hop) and they learned a ton, enjoyed their time, and definitely didn’t feel ou of place at all. I did the Harlem tour this trip, but I will absolutely be doing the Brooklyn tour on my next visit. Seriously do yourself a favour and book this tour!

(July 27, 2018 tour) I took my 16 year old cousin on The Birthplace of Hip Hop tour (Harlem and Bronx) and we both loved it and learned a lot . Grandmaster Caz is a great host. He keeps the tourists engaged and entertained. Great personality! We went to New York to see The Lion King on Broadway specifically; but I must say the Hush tours was a highlight of our trip! It was nice to see the real New York, the people and culture besides Times Square. I am highly recommending Hush tours to everyone !

This was the best $50 I ever spent in New York! Rayza is an amazing guide, host, rapper and group motivator - simply enjoying his company was the tour already paying for itself. Not only could he tell stories about the city with spitting mad bars, he even got the locals in on the tour, and eventually the locals were striking conversations with us in the group and giving us their personal take on each of the sites we visited. Our awareness of the people's struggles with gentrification was also shown very clearly, and the tour does a good job of making you feel invested in the city even more. This tour satisfied so much in me - we danced, joked around, met people in the neighborhood, and all to the unique rhythm or Harlem's hustle and hip-hop history. My New York trip would have just been some tourist cliché had I not booked this trip. Luvya Hush!

We did the Harlem walking tour on December 24th, and could not have enjoyed it anymore (despite the cold weather). The Mighty Mike C was a phenomenal host and tour guide, and it was clear everyone enjoyed themselves while also learning a lot. Highly recommend this tour, or the bus tour (did that 17 years ago).

Me and my wife did the Harlem Walking Tour and I can't recommend it more! If you're a hip-hop fan, this tour is a must-do when in NY City! You're going to learn about the roots of Hip-Hop by your guide and see important landmarks along the way. Our guide Rayza is an amazing guy who knows everything about Hip-Hop so don't hesitate to ask him any questions! Truly amazing tour, thank you!

Great tour and tour guide- Reggie Reg was excellent. Super positive energy and great stories. Nice size of group (not too big or small). Locations were great and the tour bus lets you see so much of the city outside of just Midtown/Manhattan. Highly recommend.

While spending some time in the city, we stumbled on Hush hiphop tour and had the chance to go on a private tour with them. Being hiphop core fans we were wondering how cool this will be, and we were positively surprised way beyond our expectations. In short, this was the best tour we went on during a month long stay in the city. The guides are AMAZING and the places we've seen are the foundational roots of all things hiphop. We HIGHLY recommend hush tours to anyone looking for an alternative tourist attraction which in NYC.

Learning the history of hip-hop culture from none other than the LEGENDARY Grandmaster Caz was the highlight of our trip to New York. If you're visiting or if you're a native, if you have even a passing interest in hip-hop, SEE THIS TOUR.

I did the Bronx and Harlem tour and I thought it was a really great and gulf hiking experience. The guide, RayZa, was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He made the tour both educational and enjoyable. The biggest thing for me was the tour brought me to places I probably wouldn’t be able to go alone and even if I could I wouldn’t be able to point out the significance of those places. Would definitely recommend this tour to all fans of hip hop.

This is the best tour in NYC from the moment we entered the bus the energy was electric. Rayza was our guide, he had us all fully engaged with his passion and talent. We were fully entertained throughout the journey through the history of hip hop and the wonderful and colourful culture It has created. We visited important historical areas of New York that no one should miss. Harlem, Brooklyn, The Bronx. This was the best 3 hours ever spent…. And… even if hip hop is not your thing (🤷‍♀️) this is still one tour not to be missed. Thank you Hush tours for the best day spent.

😠 I would give it zero stars if possible. Of course they have guides at every corner selling this tour bus. I would say our sales person was excellent, but it's what happened after. Supposedly the buses should run every 15-20 min which was perfect with me not being able to stand long. Every bus that s...

😐 If you want to see as much of New York within a limited time the Big Bus tours is a good option. I took the Classic one day fare which was about USD 54.
