“I ain’t never seen two pretty best friends.” This bridge, in my personal opinion would absolutely be the less prettier of the two, but it has its merits in so many different ways. I love the cold and metal comparison of this bridge to its sister bridge next to it. There’s something more powerful and calculated about this one. It shows strength and the industry of Manhattan as for the other bridge shows the classic culture and artistic history of Brooklyn. I would compare both of them also to the left and right sides of the brain. Both very drastically different but working together to unify the city. Brooklyn and Manhattan, the boroughs, wouldn’t be what they are unless they had the relationship they do. So to have that personified through something as timeless as monumental bridges is just too perfect to describe that unique relationship.

The Photo-Spot is great. Start the day with a nice walk over the Brooklyn bridge, get some food in dumbo and take some pictures. Obviously very crowded place during the day. But the actual photo spot is on the Manhattan bridge, you can make awesome shots through the fence

Good option when Brooklyn bridge has a herd of tourists. Views are not as great since fenced but an easy breezy walk with no headaches of cyclists trying to run you over as they are on the other side of the bridge. No tourists either. Could look nitty gritty at times but once you see the old details of the bridge and the graffiti, you can appreciate it.

Beautiful work of architecture in New York City. I like the four balls on top of each pillar. This is the second most beautiful bridge after the Brooklyn in my opinion.

I love walking and running across the bridge, especially from Brooklyn to Manhattan. The views are great both at night and day. The trains are pretty pound running by, which makes phone conversations difficult. Love running back via Brooklyn bridge.

Manhattan bridge is the next bridge north from the iconic Brooklyn bridge. Contrary to the Brooklyn bridge it is made entirely of steel, yet it's beautiful. However, crossing it on foot is less interesting as the walking paths are on bridge sides, while on Brooklyn it's in the middle. Therefore, you have obstructed views of the other side. You can capture terrific pics of Manhattan bridge (seen in so many movies) from the Dumbo area beneath it, which is very interesting to explore as well.

Very beautiful old bridge that connects Manhattan to Long Island, very similar to the more famous Brooklyn Bridge in design and its purpose since it does get you across the Hudson to Brooklyn.

A nice walk with stunning view of the bridges, city, and the Manhattan skyline. It is even fun for a young track fan as there are 4 trains (N,Q,B,D) passing by (so non track fans be prepared for loud noise). The Manhattan side is right by Chinatown at the intersection of Canal Street and Bowery Street. The Brooklyn side is next to Dumbo. It's close to the Brooklyn bridge at the Brooklyn side so if you want want to walk two bridges in one day you should start from Manhattan side and make a loop trip. There are Citi bike locations at both sides so biking could be considered.

The bridge is walkable, do spend 1-2hours here and just enjoy the scene especially during sunset for some great photos, other than the Brooklyn Bridge

If you want a nice walk across the bridge, I would not recommend walking across this bridge. Definitely go across the Brooklyn bridge. The Manhattan bridge is very loud with the train, and the entrance to the bridge from Chinatown was dirty. Of course, the view got better as I go closer to Brooklyn. However, if you want a beautiful walk over the Hudson, go across the Brooklyn Bridge.

This place has incredible views! 🏙️ The Manhattan Bridge 🌉 is a great way to walk across the water from Brooklyn to Manhattan and get a glimpse of breathtaking scenic views of Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge! Truly Instagram-worthy 🤳 moments! Try coming here during sunrise 🌇 or sunset 🌆. The Q train 🚃 passes really close to the walkway so keep in mind that it might be loud 🔊. I wish I came here earlier!

Everybody walks Brooklyn bridge but this one gets overlooked so I decided to walk it just for the experience. It is a vehicle and train bridge so it of course extremely noisy but this just adds to the atmosphere of the place. It doesn't get as crowded as its famous neighbour but is definitely worth doing as far as I'm concerned. It was something new, not as well known but this just adds to the whole experience. Brooklyn bridge is easily accessible from this bridge so it's worth walking over toward Brooklyn and then to Brooklyn bridge, this seems the easiest way to do it. A great experience and I would recommend it

Crossing this bridge at night when the traffic is flowing as a passenger is the greatest. As drivers, we don't realize how limited our view is. We have to focus and pay attention to the road, so looking out to the peripheral could be dangerous. Treat yourself and car pool with family. I was lucky enough to get a ride into Manhattan that evening. Got these shots in while he was crossing the Manhattan bridge. Take the upper level for the best unobstructed views. Don't be surprised if you see a double decker tour bus up there slowing up traffic for the tourists onboard eager for a picture. I took one of those tour buses once. You would be eager too after hearing the tour-guide explain the rich history of the bridge and how it came to be.

A massive bridge and a must visit to complete your New York trip. Although you keep coming across this bridge often while going around sightseeing. The train passes from on top, making a lot of noise but one likes to see the strength that holds traffic on top. It is scenic with the Hudson River running below.

Little surprised at how highly rated this bridge is. Narrow chain-linked fence walkway, loud subway constantly running beside you…not the most enjoyable walk I’ve done. But it is less crowded than the other more popular bridges, I’ll give it that.

Beautiful bridge by architects Carrere and Hastings built between 1901 and 1910. Perfect views of the city from the pedestrian pathway and much less crowded than the Brooklyn Bridge. Don't miss the triumphal arch at the Manhattan entrance to the bridge.

One of 2 great bridges next to each other, the Manhattan Bridge. You can sit at the pier facing south and watch the sunset. Also several high chair type seats along the pedestrian walkway towards Brooklyn Bridge. So much action here with boats and planes!

So, I thought all the street pics of the bridge support were of the Brooklyn bridge, No, its the manhatten bridge, we walked along the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhatten then go down a ramp and a tunnel I think then turn left and (on your left should be a you are here street map. But the place you want to go for the icon shot is just down the hill in front of you. Enjoy.

Crossing the Manhattan Bridge is a must-do for any visitor to New York City. The views of the city and the East River are simply stunning, and the bridge itself is an engineering marvel. The walk is about 1.3 miles long, so it's a good workout, but it's worth it for the experience. Here are some of the pros and cons of crossing the Manhattan Bridge: Pros: Stunning views of the city and the East River Historical landmark Good workout Free to cross Cons: Can be crowded, especially on weekends The walk is 1.3 miles long, so it's not for everyone Can be windy, especially on top of the bridge Overall, crossing the Manhattan Bridge is a great way to experience the best of New York City. It's a must-do for any visitor to the city. Here are some additional tips for crossing the Manhattan Bridge: Go early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the crowds. Wear comfortable shoes. Bring a camera to capture the amazing views. Be prepared for wind, especially on top of the bridge. I hope this helps!

Iconic bridge that joins Brooklyn and Manhattan. Not only do you have to take a picture from the centre of Dumbo, but I also recommend you cross it for an exceptional view of NYC and the Brooklyn Bridge.

Awesome place to visit - Dumbo quarter is absolutely lovely to see. A new quarter where young people are living and which is more quiet than the others around. Quite a lot of new things to visit - must-see place!!!

The south side of the bridge is pedestrian-only and offers a great view of the southern tip of Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge. Moreover its metallic aspect with the subway that passes within it, reminds us that we are in New York City, and as Nougaro sang "c'est pas du Ronsard, c'est de Amerloque".

  • 5/5 Ebony E. 1 year ago on Google
Great if you can get there during quiet times. People do not seem to think to move out of this iconic shot or walk to the side. Sunrise or very late with a good camera helps. Or feel free to use mine!

One of the best view to look at Brooklyn bridge from side of the Manhattan bridge on a subway. That moment is so beautiful with backdrop to orange coloured sunset, painting across the dividing line between sea horizon and the sky. That moment, is so calm and serene. Taking a train ride probably is best way to enjoy the moment.

I like taking the Manhattan Bridge to get a good view of Chinatown as well as of the Brooklyn bridge. I also think it offers the best view of Lower Manhattan. Much less travelled also, all the tourists throng on the Brooklyn Bridge.

Manhattan bridge is a beautiful place to visit. It's a nice and long walk with beautiful sunset and sunrise. Walk with your phone ready to take plenty pictures. You can make awesome shots through the fence. But very crowded place during the day. Obviously great place to photo spot is on the Manhattan bridge.

Perfect choice. You get to see the skyline with the Brooklyn Bridge. Super quite. No people. People don’t even know about this and I think is better than Brooklyn Bridge. People are missing out. It’s noisy tho because the metro goes by

Iconic bridge, not far from downtown Manhatten and Chinatown. Great viewing spots from both sides of the bridge. We viewed it from the Brooklyn side. There are plenty of free things to do in NYC and this is one of the best. Whether you walk the bridge or just view it from the shore, it's so cool to see in person. Highly recommend. 5/5.
