Treasure! Go if you l I’ve deep dive history of design. Just viewed the Threads of Power exhibit; loved the pieces, the people and especially the work room upstairs. I’ve been in the design industry my entire life and to be offered the opportunity to learn how to make bobbin lace was super cool. Listen to the audio for a trip back in time … Highly recommend!!!

Simple and quiet museum with a nice vibe and opportunity to be alone on the whole floor. This place will not turn your world upside down, but going to make your day a bit more calm, peaceful and filled with art.

I visited here with my wife for the Threads of Power exhibit on until 1/1/2023. On weekends the lace-makers teach a hands-on lesson in lacemaking! The exhibit was very well researched and felt like a good value for the price of tickets. Would recommend.

Fabulous exhibition of French fashion during WW1. The dawn of Chanel and her Jersey dress. Hemlines are raised showing some ankle!

Great small gallery. I enjoyed the exhibition "Threads of Power: Lace from the Textilmuseum St. Gallen". I learned that St. Gallen was and still is a major center for lace making. The new show on Sonia Delaunay (1885-1979) is equally wonderful, demonstrating her skills in many areas, including paintings, fashion, stage and graphic design, furniture and interior design, etc.

Charming exhibition space curated by faculty/students of the Bard Graduate Center. Although small, The Center presents dense exhibitions on material cultural, decorative arts, and design history—thanks, in part, to the genius online extensions of the shows and in some cases, an accompanying audio tour, also available online. The student collecting admissions on the day of my visit should never assume any visitor is a "senior" who intends to pay the lower admission rate, which is suggested. I was insulted and for that careless remark, 4 stars.

Not the most expansive gallery space but they pack a lot of great stuff in there! If the exhibits are at all in your sphere of interest (IE, design and creation of objects) it is a great additional stop along with the NYHS or the MNH! Not for kids though, certainly!

Exhibits are consistently engaging. The building itself is pleasant to be in, the staff is friendly and helpful, the topics are interesting. Even if you don't think a certain exhibit will hold your interest, you will find that it does indeed - and that is the fun of visiting this museum. You'll learn a new way of seeing something with every visit. It's not a big museum, which makes a visit manageable and memorable. A small selection of gift-shop items available for purchase.

really enjoyed this exhibit, it seems small on the outside but there was a lot to learn! also big huge shoutout to cleveland, the man watching the third floor. he was so knowledgeable about all the art and explained it so well, you can tell it was something he really enjoyed and that made me enjoy it even more.

Sad sad state of affairs. I would have loved to support this small institution. Very insulted and I had to leave.

Nice gallery over 4 floors in a town home. A relatively small space but worth a quick visit. Suggested admission of 7$.
