Mediocre udon noodles and shrimp tempura. Waiters have no personality. I ordered Shrimp & Vegetable ball and there was not even a single shrimp present. I mentioned it to the waiter and he couldn't care less. All I saw was his "I don't wanna be here talking to you" face. Bottom line..horrible customer service and mediocre foods.

This is one of the best noodle spots I’ve been to. Every time it tastes fresh. The broth is so tasty and the beef so tender. I got the beef soba noodle and small curry and rice. Masa was a great server too! He’s so efficient!

On a rainy day, my wife and I had a craving for nice hot noodles. While in Fort Lee, we chose Azuma among a number of restaurants in the area, and we sure made a right choice. We ordered an udon & curry combo, soba & shrimp tempura combo, and a fried chicken as an appetizer. The noodles were cooked perfectly; chicken and shrimp tempura were crispy and juicy; and curry was deep and rich in taste! It’s our first visit, and it would not be our last!

Came in randomly because we had a craving for some Japanese food and we were extremely pleased with this place. I got the Oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl) and a grilled duck appetizer, and both dishes did not disappoint. I will be back to try the Soba!

I went on Labor Day around 1pm. There are several outside dining tables dedicated to the restaurant but it can be quite loud due to passing traffic. Servers are wearing masks and gloves and are friendly. The food itself took about 15-20 mins to come out and was good. I wouldn't say it's the best but it gets the job done. My dish (udon) came with two sauce pots which I can tell isn't being sanitized between users so beware. Tables are a bit sticky. Overall, decent food for a decent price in a decent environment.

Good experience. Healthy option in the area. Authentic Japanese soba spot. I've had better in Japan but obviously that's incomparable. They make their soba noodles here and it's in the heart of Fort Lee on Main Street. I had the cold dipping soba with shrimp tempura. The tempura wasn't the best, it was a bit soggy. My friend had the hot soba noodles and enjoyed it. They give you daikon on the side and you can ask for extra. The dipping soy sauce was just right, not too salty. Parking is street parking or garage by the corner.

This place is clean, tasty, and the service is decent. Honestly one of the best soba places i have been to and the options are amazing, not to mention that they have a non-alcoholic beer. Down town Fort Lee main street gets pretty crazy so best find parking in one of the side streets or the municipal parking lot across.

Light but filling comfort food. Tempura & katsu are always perfectly crispy. Soba noodles cost the same from 100-300 grams of noodles. Reserve seating an hour prior to prevent waiting & plan accordingly. Parking is difficult & limited.

After becoming a huge fan of Ramen and visiting so many restaurants, it did not meet my expectations. This is place is alright but. The broth didn't have a full bold flavor The meat was not all that tasty The egg was good But the ramen noodles was tasteless The chicken and rice . ... hard to fine the flavor We didn't finish the meal The prices are cheap The place is decent No parking outside or around the area. Not for me😶

We say it's a solid ramen place going neck to neck with Mitsuwa for the best in the Fort Lee area. Get the rice combo and guaranteed you'll be full. My commander in chief loves the chicken teriyaki here while the tuna with the rice satisfies my craving for something close to a Poke bowl. Eating here a few more times since this review, I was disappointed with the Volcano ramen. It's 3 pounds of mostly bean sprouts and cabbage. Yes there's twice the amount of toppings but the experience is ruined by the insane amount of veggies piled on top (hence the name Volcano) and by the time I get to the noodles and broth, I lost my will to slurp. The broth is not that flavorful and has taken the taste of the vegetables. So stick with the basics unless you are a competitive eater.

I recently went to this place just to give it a try and I was soo happy I made that decision! I've gone here 3-4 times now just in the past month. The ramen is exceptional and I would definitely recommend trying the Sukiyaki Ramen. So far that and the beef ramen are the only ones I've tried and they are absolutely delicious. I'm sure there other dishes are just as excellent. The staff is also really friendly and the design of the place is so cute and retro. Definitely a nice place to have dinner with some friends and family!

Good service and the food is good. The soup based is very tasty for the udon. The small dishes and the cold soba are very good. Good quality of food. I will come back to try others. Highly recommended.

The portion of noodle and taste is good. They also have some nice deal for lunch and dinner. I walked by to have a quick fix after working long hour. Their service is fast and the waitress' attitude is very nice.

Looking at other reviews and getting turned away once before due to wait time, were excited to try this place. But unfortunately the experience was underwhelming. Other than the Takoyaki, found most of their dishes to be average. The fried duck, the curry noodles with Fried chicken, both lacked the ‘wow’ factor is taste. They also take a good amount of time to serve the good, a simple rice bowl takes 10-15 minutes.

Another excellent casual eating spot in fort Lee that I love. Their menu is simple. The feature soba and udon noodle dishes with simple broths and meat dishes. I got hot soba noodles in their regular fish and soy broth with pork cutlet in curry sauce. Wife ordered the fried chicken appetizer with yuzu Mayo and hot soba with beef. Everything came out perfect and we have no issues coming back to this place again in the future.

It is definitely a good place to have nice food with friends, or to order take-out. My friends and I all have pretty favorable views on this place. I was a little hesitant if I should give five stars. My main concern is that it’s in Fort Lee, you know, where there’re so many Asian restaurants better than those overrated ones in NYC.

Authentic Japanese food confirmed. The waiters are Japanese and they are really polite. Very wide selection of foods and it makes me felt so excited look at the menu.

Large selection of items both seasonal and regular menus. Food is delicious and warms you up, I’ve ordered 3 things so far and have left pleased and full each time. Prices are fair and their service is immaculate as well - staff is very accommodating because I can’t eat pork so they’d sit and tell me which items had any pork based Broths or items. I will be returning for sure!

My friend and I had a great time! Great food at an amazing price point! The soba was soft and chewy and the broth was so soothing. The appetizer was so so good as well. Only complaint was that the shrimp tempura was not hot so it had softened, but it was still very tasty! Customer service and space was perfect too. I highly recommend this place and will be coming again soon.

  • 5/5 Ellen 1 year ago on Google
Soba noodles were good and chewy. You can choose 100g, 200g, 300g serving size of noodles for the same price! I got their fried shrimp & veggie set with cold soba noodles. Good quality and portions for the price. Would definitely go back to try other dishes. You should make reservations - I went on a Sunday and waited a bit and sat outside to get a seat more quickly. Wouldn't recommend sitting outside as cars honk frequently.

I have been to Japan 3 times and this was super authentic and took me down memory lane! We will definitely be back! The fried chicken, からげ, was amazing and didn’t need a wow factor, because it was so authentic! This is a MUST GO TO restaurant! We are from New Hampshire and this is permanently on our list of top places to eat!

It was good. We had got the little room in the front. The place is small but we got good and fast service. The taste is overall clean. Nothing was heavy or oily. Everyone enjoyed what they got.

  • 5/5 Vicky S. 1 year ago on Google
YUMMMMM! I fell in love with soba noodles after today. Very refreshing and yummy. The dipping broth was not salty so I was able to enjoy every bite. The sashimi was pretty fresh as well. Pretty good balance of the two dishes as a set. I also got some appetizers which I forgot what it was called but they were soooo good with the flakes. The best part is….the price is so affordable!!!!!! With hot summer days and crazy inflation, this place is 🫶🏻

soba noodle Azuma is one of my favorite places to eat in fort Lee. I like it better than every other Japanese restaurant in the area. The pork cutlet bowl with egg reminds me of my times in japan. Before coming here, it was hard to find a tonkatsu bowl that really emulated the tastes I’ve experienced in Japan. Another one of my favorites is the soba dish. The noodles taste fresh and they also use very fresh wasabi. A little expensive for soba but you really won’t find another Japanese restaurant of this quality unless you’re in nyc, and I still say compared to nyc this restaurant is more legitimate.

It's a really interesting place, with a cool menu (I didn't know half of their dishes). Everything we tried was really good. I had fried chicken curry with soba noodles and it was good, my wife had shrimp and veggies tempura Udon and it was also great. I suggest a salmon tartar (just add a little soy sauce to it) and cucumber salad.

  • 4/5 OLIVIA 11 months ago on Google
Great selections of Japanese food. Visited countless time for years, and I loved it almost every time! But… 4 stars because sometimes food quality is not so great/safety issue. One time the salmon roe bowl had a bunch of small plastic pieces. Sometimes udon is not hot enough. They raised the prices on certain food a couple times last few years.

I'm really not sure where else you'd find authentic Japanese Soba in New Jersey. This is my favorite spot for soba noodles and I come here quite frequently. Can't really say anything bad about it other than wait-times. Pretty much everything they do on the menu is done very well. There's no noodle quite like soba, and I don't think any place I've been to in the states does soba better than here.

The food is good here especially if you like soba or udon. There is a great selection and the quality is great. They also have sushi as well. They have indoor and outdoor seating with the new guidelines. Make a reservation if you want to sit indoors, the seating is sparse with the spacing guidelines.

This place has great udon noodles, broth, and rice bowls. And their sashimi was great as well. Reasonably priced for pickup/take out. Items here to order for the whole family.

  • 4/5 Dan F. 5 years ago on Google
Sister to the Ramen Azuma across the street. Similar (and reasonable) pricing, similar ability to mix and match proteins and noodles. Service was efficient and friendly. My water was always filled and food came out quickly. The noodles had great texture and the broth was light but flavorful. The tempura shrimp had great flavor, but lacked crispiness - they were a little limp. The tempura eel on the other hand was perfectly crispy. Definitely a place I will revisit in the future.

  • 4/5 Saan S. 4 years ago on Google
delicate and yummy! You can determine the amount of sauce you want and whether you want to mix the meat with noodles. Not a big table for two since we order three different dishes. But you still enjoy the food a lot. Difficult to find packing, but park in far away for street parking or in the parking lot nearby.

  • 5/5 Elliot K. 3 years ago on Google
Authentic soba with the option to make the broth vegetarian so it is possible to make your meal vegan! Also you can pick any amount of noodles at no extra charge so get that large if you're hungry. COVID note: outdoor dining is available but space is limited. I think you might be able to make a table reservation

First time coming into this place and as soon as we went in i loved the ambient. Staff was very kind and took care of us . We ordered the Trio Ramen , Beef Ramen, and the Cilantro Chicken. Let me tell you I’ve eaten ramen before at other restaurants. None like Trio Ramen Azuma. Amazing flavors and highly recommend this place. We left very happy and will come back 100%.

We ordered, small curry rice that was good. Sukiyaki nabe that was bland no taste. Oyster udon nabe taste like the ocean. Chicken karaage was ok it was sitting on lettuce with hair in it. The star is for the waitress who was working alone. She was very busy and but trying very hard to do her job. She was good.

Nice outdoor dinning setup in the evening. We ordered the sukiyaki udon hot pot, 2 appetizers, and cold soba noodles. The Agedashi dōfu didn’t feel authentic, tonkatsu was so so, and the sukiyaki udon was a little bit too sweet for us. But the overall service and atmosphere were good.

  • 4/5 Michael W. 3 years ago on Google
Pretty good for takeout - soba holds up better than udon. Katsu curry and salmon roe/salmon bowl highly recommended. Fried chicken is a bit under seasoned.

  • 3/5 S C. 3 years ago on Google
Restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. We tried the chicken cutlet with udon which was good. We also had the beef udon and the duck with udon. Unlike the chicken, the beef and especially the duck portions were much smaller than expected. Don't order the duck if you are hungry. The duck with udon was basically udon with broth and 5 tiny thin pieces of duck for $15.50 and the beef possibly about 3 oz of meat. Perhaps I didn't order well, but based on what we did order, I probably would not return with so many other good restaurants nearby offering better selections and portions.

The variety here is incredible! All the workers seem to be really attentive. I always enjoy trying different foods here and sometimes I even get it delivered. As for the actual Soba noodles, I love both the hot and cold options so I tend to switch between the two every so often. God bless this place for its eats ,its food and for its workers.

I love this place. I think that this has to be one of the absolute best Japanese place in the tri state area. I have been back and forth to japan many times and nothing I am aware of in the US even comes close. This is your best shot for an authentic homemade soba noodle experience in NJ. The soba salad is one of my favorites, but for newcomer a simple Hot or Cold soba noodle set will not dissapoint. The Fried Agedashi Tofu is also great. And the Grilled Duck as well. Maybe try a small cold Soba just to sample the actual noodles here. They are homemade and served with a great dipping broth. Also check out the mini Donburi options as well. Service has always been good and the setting was lovely, that is when you could sit inside. Though they do have some nice outdoor tables as well.
