Extremely cool experience for anyone with interest in media history. Constantly rotating exhibits and an incredible repository of archival footage of everything under the sun. On my visit, I spent time looking through the Olympics footage and coverage collection and barely scratched the surface. Additionally, they have a VR and gaming exhibit on the 5th floor for anyone who hasn't experienced it, not fully worth it if you have extensive VR experience. For anyone wanting a better connection to history, I highly recommend a visit.

I would say only come here if there’s an exhibition, screening, or event you want to go to, because they are very small and basic for the amount of money they charge. It goes to a good cause, but just make sure to plan and research before coming. I did enjoy the library, and their extensive archives though, of which as a non-member I believe you get about 90 minutes of computer time. Can you find a lot of it on YouTube? Probably, but using their system is still very informative and curated. Certainly would be a great place to find a primary source if you’re doing a paper or project having to do with media, or TV history. I will also say the staff was extremely nice and helpful.

Our recent visit on Sunday from 2-4 pm was marred by an unfortunate incident. Overall, everything went smoothly, except for an issue with the discriminatory treatment we encountered on the 2nd floor train show. The staff on duty displayed a noticeable lack of friendliness towards my 10-year-old son, who is an avid train enthusiast and enjoys walking alongside the running trains. While other children were allowed to engage in this activity, my son was singled out and not permitted to do so. As he passed by the staff, the staff extended his arms to hold the edge of the table, inadvertently blocking the way. Surprisingly, the staff also purposefully positioned himself right in front of my child while he was observing the trains, disrupting his experience. Unfortunately, we are unsure of the reason behind this behavior. It's important to note that my son is a shy individual, and our family is of Asian descent. This discriminatory treatment was both perplexing and disheartening, especially on Christmas eve. All the other staff are friendly and helpful. We had good time at the fourth floor making snoopy puppet. 05/01 Update : The management promptly addressed the issue. It's worth noting that the individual then working in the train room was a temporary employee, not a staff member.

I visited the Paley Center specifically for the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel exhibit and I was not disappointed! The exhibit was free, and so very neat. There were multiple sets from the show which you could walk into, sit and take pictures, as well as Midge's actual outfits and other items from the show. It was like stepping right into the show! Truly wonderful.

I visisted a few years back around 2019 and my son was 4 years old then, we actually enjoyed it very much, this time around we did not. It is nothing like when we first visited. It is not worth what you pay , plus you have to pay to play as well and take pictures with santa, everything is a fee that is honestly not even worth the fee. It was so blah! I rather take my kids somewhere else during the holidays.

This place is great for great for those with autism and other sensory related disabilities . Quiet . Not crowded . Clean . Friendly staff . Also wheelchair accessible . There are elevators and large restrooms on nearly every floor . Don’t expect a lot to do except VR, gaming and screen movie/commercials library computer room but that was enough for us . Without the crowds we could play Xbox , Nintendo switch , PlayStation and do Just Dance for long periods . Really enjoyed that there was plenty of space and not being overwhelmed with crowds . The theaters inside are great too . You might want to plan your visit around a Screening by looking online before you go otherwise there are clips playing when movies aren’t showing. Kids under 12free adults around 20 bucks or so . Thanks for being patient with my friend who is autistic paley center . We’ll be back soon . **************Btw Take note of their hours of operation when planning your visit .

A wonderful spot to spend a damp chilly afternoon. The staff was friendly and knew. I got to see both Elvis Presley AND David Bowie in iconic performances, and watch Richard Pryor in one of his special. In addition, I watched Woody Allen spoof Henry Kissinger in an unaired special he did for PBS. Very enjoyable.

PaleyLand a huge disappointment. We traveled from Long Island after seeing a Gabbys Dollhouse ad. My 4 yo was super excited to meet her fav character. We got there yesterday and the program showed that Gabby wasn't there today. We were told other meet and greets will be happening. 90% of the program was movies played in the theater. We went to the theater and nobody was there. Of course, who wants to pay to go watch the same shows you can watch at home with the kids. The train was in a very small room packed with people. We went downstairs and only saw Rudolph and Santa. The characters show up every 30 min, so between one character and the other there was nothing for my kid to do. The crafts were printed paper and markers in a small packed room. We were there for 25 min. As we were leaving, Snoopy was arriving and my kid went to wave at him. Immediately a women started yelling at her (4yo) "6 FEET APART! 6 FEET APART". My kid wasn't even touching the character and just wanted Snoopy to wave back at her (didn't happen either). We were also showed our vaccination cards upon arrival and wore masks the whole time. Someone who is terrified about the virus shouldn't be working here. A waste of my time and money.

This place was beautiful and I really enjoyed the time spent my only regret was not coming earlier with my son because the Santa line was a wait. But the staff are great and understanding of an impatient toddler.

Beautiful seating arrangement, no seat is a bad seat, very intimate seating looks to hold a out 100 to 200 persons, all attended a talk with The Walking Dead cast members- beautiful theater and very polite customer service and security- become a member they provide great talks.

This is a little gem hidden on 52nd Street between 5th and 6th. They have a huge video library upstairs of old TV shows and movies. They have a virtual reality area downstairs with nine different virtual reality Games. And they have other video games you can play. It's free to get in, but they do welcome donations. Donating is the right thing to do, so if you plan on going here give whatever you can. They also have paleyfest in November, where they had stars of major TV shows come Q&A with the audience, and other things. Definitely worth checking out if you have any interest in video and media.

Went to see exhibit about football/superbowl. They had some interesting artifacts. Main usage was media room/library where one could watch past superbowls and old tv shows. Other exhibit spaces were small and limited. Also interesting film contrasting MLK and Malcolm X and their points of view.

Now playing the Marvelous Mrs Maisel Exhibit. It’s absolutely wonderful seeing parts of the show in real life: the clothing, the diner, the telethon, the Paris apartment and even just watch the show in the large theater located downstairs. The exhibit is completely free and you can reserve tickets online. Find more information on my website or Instagram account 👌

What a surprise!! Right in the middle of Manhattan no less!! If you love football (and even like it;) this is a must--they let you take all the time you want to go thru the exhibits and they have memorabilia from the NFL hall of fame that I know I would never get to see if I hadn't come to the Paley Center.

We went during Paleyland. There were several floors of holiday theme displays. Those included meeting and getting pictures with Santa, holiday trains, and holiday movies. Each floor is small, but it was beautifully put together. It is a great space to visit with children.

I expected more things to do. My kids who are both 5 and 12 got bored. It was a kid event but there was a person (non employee) who told my friend that her 2 year old child was too noisy and made her leave. That made my experience less enjoyable.

We went to take a picture with Santa. Everything was beautiful and well organized, everybody was kind, and we enjoyed the free hot chocolate. There are activities and games for the kids. They also have a museum. It's a good place to go to have fun with the kids.

This is a very special place. Amazing collection of TV shows, commercials, clips, iconic specials, etc. I loved the Will & Grace exhibit and the powerful things written about its influence. And the staff are super kind. I hope to come back regularly.

Underrated. I'm a member so many perks from free events from celebrity talks. Arcade with virtual reality. Have props and set pieces from famous TV shows like Will and Grace. Plus photo opportunities. Very nostalgic place. Very friendly staff and professional staff.

We are a member so we didn't pay. Membership is worth it because all children under 12 gets in free and you can bring a guest, which was my spouse. We went for Shark Week. It was so much fun. We got a free Shark hat and a pair of sunglasses and got to take free photos with a Mr Shark, I think.

  • 3/5 M. Jay H. 1 year ago on Google
There's nothing really much to see. Watched a short film on sharks and then about comedies. I thought it would be a museum about film and TV but did not meet my expectations.

This place is great for all sorts of exhibits. They even offer gaming. This month they're featuring black history month and honoring Kobe Bryant.
