Not just for chocolate/dessert enthusiasts or aficionados, because it is also a proper restaurant with drinks (not just dessert themed too). Amazing presentation, great taste, large selections, okay prices and decent but quick service. Also sell boxes of chocolates etc. They have a restroom too. First time we had a giant chocolate fondue (which was large enough for 5 people). It came with sparklers which was fun and tasted really good (especially the white chocolate core and chocolate drizzle and mini balls. Second time I had a giant pistachio cookie which came with a delicious white chocolate drizzle and vanilla ice cream. It had a surprise filling of pistachio cream which was heavenly. Overall it was a bit sweet and subdued the 80's milkshake which I had also gotten. This makes me recommend not buying two sweet dishes at the same time.

We arrived in the evening for dessert and tea with friends and were pleasantly surprised to be seated earlier than our reservation. The menu offered a wide range of dinner items and desserts, but we opted to share desserts and enjoy some hot drinks. We sampled the Crystal Churros Fondue, although it was a bit dry for our liking. On the other hand, the Melting Chocolate Heart Cake & Shake proved to be a delightful treat, with rich, flavorful chocolate. I personally ordered a White Chocolate Green Tea, which, while tasty, leaned more towards resembling chocolate milk. It would be a nice addition if they incorporated simpler dessert choices, such as cake slices, to balance out their selection of decadent options. In terms of service, we were impressed. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and our orders arrived promptly. We also appreciated that we never felt rushed throughout the evening.

I adore this place, its my ultimate favorite restaurant and my fiancé loves taking me here for small special occasions. The iconic chocolate martini is top tier, there’s not a day I do not get at least one each time I visit. Majority of the food is pretty delicious but the drinks and specially dessert is to die for. Also the hazelnut milkshake is the best ever. We usually get the European fondue and it’s amazing. The staff is really nice too.

Very good deserts and the spinach with artichoke dip was great! We had banana waffles and Nutella crepé. We were serve with a very attentive waitress. All good but the place could be a little bit more careful with the cleaning... we had to ask to change our water glasses because were dirty and the table sticky (for all the sweets I guess but still). Overall nice place for a date

FOOD Food was delicious! The cheesesteak was fresh and I enjoyed the waffle more than I thought I would. The oreo crepe was an explosion of chocolate, it was really flavorful, but a bit too much for me, thankfully I brought a human chocolate vacuum with me that gladly finished the job and left the plate clean! SERVICE Service was great we were greeted by a nice gentleman that was patient with us while we looked at our menu and always came to us witu a smile. ATMOSPHERE Place looks nicely decorated, and I loved the tubes that transport chocolate all over the place (unsure if real but i liked them regardless); however, the place was unreasonably cold which made us not wanna stay long after finishing our meal. 4/5

Booked and took my mother in law to Max Brenner for her birthday lunch and wow what a great place to visit. For a sweet tooth loving diner this is the place to visit, plenty of choice on the menu and we ended up getting a range of items to share. I was left feeling very full up and sick (too much chocolate). Nothing at all wrong with the food and staff were excellent and very friendly. Would highly recommend this place, thanks very much.

Max Brenner is an annual holiday tradition for us. The vibes are great for the whole family. We usually come to enjoy the fondue. This visit on a week night was particularly cold outside and busy inside. Service: We waited 30 minutes to get our table and arrived to a great server. However at the end of our order, the server seemed exhausted and detached. I would have appreciated a thank you for coming, to expect the least, but he merely turned his back to us on charging our credit card and left. The place was busy. We ordered: The sharing fondue platter. While the chocolate fondue itself was delicious, the items on the platter seemed like thrown together packaged ingredients. The aerosol whipped cream on the soggy waffle was the low point of the platter. The molten chocolate cake was the highlight. Chicken fingers and waffle fries. Excellent. Would order again. Walking past all the patrons on the way out was a vision of fondue pots and burgers and people enjoying each other's company. I always enjoy this place with my family.

This is a great spot for desserts and food. The original Mac and cheese is amazing with a great cheesy and creamy flavour. The salad was on point with arugula and quinoa which was bomb. For the appetizers the waffle fries had such a good flavour especially with the savoury salty sauce. Also the quesadillas are great with a lot of veggies but not that many beans which sucked but the taste was still good. Overall, this is a wonderful place and I will come back.

One of my favorite places in NYC! Took kiddo for the first time there and she had blast, she loved fondue and waffles there. It was very busy for Monday afternoon, but service was still really good.

We went there for hot chocolate. First of all, there was a waiting list. The lady with looong nails who couldn’t even type on the screen due to unnecessarily long nails for work told us that she would text us when our table was ready in about 40 mins. We waited for an hour at Union Square but heard nothing from them. We walked in again to ask. They were calling people by name instead of texting which is ridiculous. When I asked about my table, they said they accidentally gave my table to another group who claimed to be me. Their attitude was even more unprofessional. Since a person claimed to be me, the guy at the front said it wouldn’t be their fault. It’s their JOB to ensure to let the right people in queue. In terms of the quality of the hot chocolate, I was expecting it to be at least equivalent to City Bakery (RIP) or the one on the 12th street that co-founder of Max Brenner had opened prepandemic. However, it was no better than cocoa mix with cheap marshmallows. Very disappointing. Lastly, the air inside was very unhealthy. Air was not circulating and extremely smoky. I wonder how they survived the pandemic tbh. I’m pretty sure that this would be my first and last visit.

Fair selection of savory foods...more like a good chain restaurant. The star in this restaurant is dessert centered in chocolate but if you need something savory to offset the sweet then the selections are fair and done well. The restaurant is large for its location. The bathrooms are clean but too few. The service is solid. I would recommend for all chocolate lovers and their loved ones.

WOW! I heard about this place before but never had a chance to visit it until yesterday. First of all the menu: it's very big and unique! They have large selection of signature cocktails and food. I literally couldn't pick anything because of so many choices. The prices: this place is super affordable! The cocktails are below $15 and the food is pretty cheap too. BUT it doesn't taste cheap, everything we ordered was super delicious and I wanted to eat more and more until my stomach started hurting. Definitely coming back!

I think this place is best for younger kids/young adults. Food is ok nothing great, nothing bad. Deserts are chocolate lovers dream. The server was very nice, just slow.

Popped in for hot cocoa. We ordered the Aztec (spicy) and marshmallow and picked up some chocolates as gifts. Overall, it was a perfect place to warm up and, while the marshmallow chocolate wasn't anything special, the Aztec was interesting and delicious.

Their Italian dark thick hot chocolate is the bomb! So rich and chocolatey. I also took a sip of the classic white hot choc, and it tasted like a melted cookies and cream Hershey’s bar. Service was, like many have said, subpar.

Food was delicious and filling! Atmosphere and ambiance was nice. Server was very pleasant, hospitable, and check-in! Hostess sat us quickly and food came out in decent timing. Definitely coming back to dine, because I need to try their dessert menu next time! And would totally recommend to anyone!!

Fun place to take the kids. Food was regular. Chocolate fondue was a hit. Ordered 2 for 8 people. Martinis tasty but not strong. Price was standard for NYC.

Absolutely impressed with the fantastic vibe at this place! The diverse menu offers a wide range of delicious food items. The waffle fries are a delightful addition, and the dessert items is a must-try, especially the hot chocolate and chocolate fondue. You can never go wrong here!

I have taken my children here a couple of times and I don't really have a complaint. We love that we can make reservations online and the food is fun and good. It's always clean and the servers are never rude.

Upon arrival, we were seated quickly within our reservation time. We tried 3 of the hot chocolates; Italian in milk, salted caramel in white, and marshmallow in dark. All were tasty but the milk chocolate was our favorite. 3 stars because the ambiance was that of a Cheesecake Factory but more crowded, our initial drinking glasses were dirty, and the bathrooms weren’t the best either.

We ordered hot chocolate. It was okay probably could've been better. But the atmosphere is great, crowded but welcoming.

It wasn’t my first time here but last time I came here was 3 years ago. They changed a few things on the menu like the sharing fond. I went craving completely something else and got something else. They don’t even offer two chocolates with it anymore. But overall it was a good experience. Their pizza was good and previously when I tried, their mac and cheese are also good. This place is for chocolate lovers so obviously it has to be good.

Had dessert here awhile ago. This time decided to try out the food. I ordered Brenner Burger. It was good but even though I ordered medium rare it wasn’t juicy. The fries were really good though. We also ordered the wings which I think I wasn’t too great it was definitely over cooked and dry. Overall atmosphere was nice and service was excellent.

Max Brenner’s is a cute spot for a meal and yummy chocolate. They have several chocolate drink choices and several chocolate dessert options too. I would call it a place for some decent bar type foods, just add the chocolate element to it. I noticed a lot of couples on dates here as well as families. It can get busy so be prepared to wait if you get there at the wrong time of day.

Our go to place for desserts after dinner. Food is great too however, Max Brenner's Italian thick hot chocolate (milk) and the sharing fondue is not to be missed. Must visit place. Brunch visit calls for their Banana Crepe! Their waffle fries are a great add on.

Visited this place on a friend's recommendation and absolutely loved it. This place is generally knows for people who have a sweet tooth but the savoury options were not bad at all. The quesadillas and the waffle fries were really good. The French toast was really good as well. Also there is this iconic pipe I which chocolate passes through the restaurant. Overall will surely recommend this restaurant.
