The Survivor Tree at Manhattan's 9/11 Memorial is a poignant symbol of hope and resilience in the face of tragedy. This tree, a Callery pear, was discovered amidst the rubble of the World Trade Center following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Despite being badly damaged and burned, the tree was carefully nursed back to health over the following years, and now stands tall and strong as a symbol of hope and rebirth. Visiting the Survivor Tree is a moving experience that truly captures the spirit of resilience and determination that defines the human spirit. As you approach the tree, you can't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder at its beauty and tenacity. The gnarled trunk and twisted branches serve as a powerful reminder of the trauma and devastation of that day, but also of the strength and resilience of those who survived. One of the things I appreciate most about the Survivor Tree is the way it has been integrated into the 9/11 Memorial. Surrounded by the reflecting pools and other memorials, the tree serves as a focal point of hope and healing. It's a place where visitors can pause and reflect on the events of that day, pay tribute to the lives lost, and draw inspiration from the tree's remarkable story. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the Survivor Tree at Manhattan's 9/11 Memorial. It's a powerful symbol of hope and resilience that serves as a reminder of the strength of the human spirit in the face of tragedy. Whether you're a New Yorker or a visitor to the city, this tree is a must-see destination that is sure to leave a lasting impression on your heart and soul.

This is a tree that was heavily damaged during the collapse and fires. It was nursed back to health and replanted. A true symbol to me that is what we as Americans do.. we get back up and try again. We fight to get back what we lost. When the odds are stacked against us, we find a way to beat those odds. Making us stronger.

This was the only tree that survived after the 9/11 incident and was rescued. The place is very beautiful, pleasant with a lot of history, it is a calm and somewhat silent place. Recommend.

This tree is stated If you walk along ground zero, it’s the tree that is enclosed in a circle by the metal. From far away this tree standards out as it was the one that was blooming the most. It’s perpendicular to the world trade centre.

The tree is upright with both limbs and branches...I'm sure lesser trees would have wilted and died in the face of such calamity...but this tree stands proud and therefore America is better than all other preceeding countries. Long live USA.

Having endured the unimaginable devastation of the 9/11 attacks, this Callery pear tree's survival and subsequent flourishing are a testament to the indomitable spirit of New York and the nation. Its gnarled branches reach skyward, a living memorial to those who perished and a source of solace for those left behind. Visiting this survivor is a deeply emotional experience; it's not just a tree but a living embodiment of strength, renewal, and the enduring human capacity to overcome adversity. Such a striking piece of the memorial. Well written plaque explaining the survivor trees significance to the harrowing events. So touching to see it here. It's notable how cuttings from this tea are now being used to plant other survivor trees in other 9/11 memorial sites across the US, one such example is on Staten Island.

Gallery pear tree that survived the 9/11 attacks. According to the plaque, the wrecked tree was moved to a nursery in the Bronx where it was taken care of. It recovered and has been planted once again on this spot, proudly standing still as a symbol of American resilience with a small American flag stuck inside of it.

Title: "The Survivor Tree: Resilience in the Heart of NYC" Review: On a recent visit to the World Trade Center, the Survivor Tree, a Callery pear, captured my attention with its striking presence. This tree, having endured the events of September 11, stands as a poignant symbol of resilience and hope amid the site's modern architecture. The Survivor Tree's story is extraordinary. Once buried under the debris, it was carefully restored to health and replanted at the World Trade Center. Today, it flourishes, embodying survival and renewal. The tree's robust trunk and blossoming branches contrast sharply with the surrounding urban landscape, offering a living testament to the endurance and strength of nature. Located near the 9/11 Memorial, the Survivor Tree is a compelling sight for visitors. It represents a piece of living history and a beacon of hope. Its survival and growth are a powerful reminder of the resilience within us all. The Survivor Tree at the World Trade Center is an essential landmark to experience. It's not merely a reminder of the past but a vibrant symbol of life's perseverance and the enduring spirit of renewal. It earns a five-star rating for its significance and the inspiration it provides.

Dieser Baum liegt unscheinbar direkt neben dem Pool. Er ist relativ klein. Es gibt eine Informationstafel, die direkt daneben steht.
