Great upscale dining establishment in the midtown area of New York City. Whether you’re coming here on an important work meeting, meeting friends and family or date, the service is immaculate and the food cooked to perfection. The seafood menu is absolutely amazing Well recommended!

Great experience! Everything was good and we were able to enjoy ourselves and ate well. This place is quite big and spacious with views onto nearby buildings. Be ready to put you money where you mouth is though because it is quite expensive. That being said it is definitely worth it.

If you like lobster try their Maine lobster salad with citrus vinaigrette. Salad is light and citrusy, yet satisfying. We were served Fiji branded water at the table, a very nice touch. Service was efficient but not intrusive.

The Capital Grille is a world renowned upscale fine dining restaurant that offers guests first class service and top quality dishes ranging from steaks, lamb chops, chicken and salmon based meals. In February of 2024, I brought and treated myself and my wife for dinner at Capital Grill, specifically the branch based at the Chrysler Center, to celebrate our Happy Six Year Anniversary!!! We’d like to thank Capital Grill for making our anniversary truly special, and one in which we’ll forever cherish. We were warmly welcomed by the restaurant’s staff and were quickly provided with a very comfortable table. Throughout the evening, the staff graciously acknowledged and wished us a wonderful anniversary and thanked us for celebrating the occasion at Capital Grille. Our server, Corey O treated us with impeccable hospitality and made us feel very welcomed and right at home!!! He was kind, incredibly courteous, superbly addressed all of our inquiries and offered great insight and suggestions on the menu options. In addition to the great service, both my wife and I were impressed with Capital Grille’s elegant settings, especially the dark wood paneled interior, the tall glass windows, and the gorgeous art portraits spread throughout the restaurant. The playing of jazz music and classic hits sung by Billie Holiday & Louis Armstrong were also a great treat and enriched our romantic evening!!! Last, but certainly not least, my wife and I absolutely loved our meals. Everything from the appetizers to the entrees to our dessert was perfectly delicious!!! On a scale of 1 to 10, I would grade our meals a score of “ Infinity & Beyond.” My wife ordered and enjoyed her lamb chop based entree & her spinach side dish, while I ordered and loved my pan seared salmon based entree & my mash potato side dish. Our meals were superbly seasoned, tasty and wonderfully cooked. Our dessert, the Classic Crème Brûlée was simply off the charts and unquestionably delicious!!! We’d like to again thank Capital Grille for making our anniversary celebration truly special, and for providing us with an amazing dining experience!!! It definitely ranks among our favorite restaurants and we highly recommend for everyone to visit and dine at this outstanding steakhouse chain!!!

This is a nice place to eat. They called to confirm my reservation the day before. The staff were very warm and welcoming from start to finish. The lovely ladies at the front desk checked our coats. In regards to this, I highly recommend wearing a sweater because it can get chilly for some when you are seated in the back near the windows. Brian was our server. He was very attentive to us. The bread selection was versatile and good. To start, I had the roasted beet and goat cheese salad with crushed pistachios and citrus vinaigrette along with the creamed spinach, shrimp cocktail and seared tenderloin with butter poached lobster tails. My mom had the lobster mac n cheese. I really enjoyed the salad, shrimp cocktail and surf n turf combo. The lobster mac n cheese was okay, but I will say that there are other places that can cook this a little better though. My take on it is that it was a little dry and needed more seasoning. All in all, good food and great service. I hope they reopen the one in FiDi so I can eat there again soon.

We had a top notch meal! Barry was our waiter and he was so friendly and chatted with us. The manager even came and chatted with us about our stay in NY. So friendly! We were well attended to. The steaks were some of the best we've ever had. And the cocktails were amazing!

I had an incredible experience at this renowned upscale steakhouse . I was overjoyed because my friend happened to be in town for a meeting and decided to celebrate my 30th birthday during his business trip. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the red wine selection was outstanding. I must highly recommend the Tuna tartare as a fantastic appetizer. It was a memorable celebration that I won't forget. The staff was attentive and friendly, providing excellent service throughout our visit..

Great place. A bit pricey but worth it. Food was absolutely delicious with slightly different takes on classic dishes. The chef seems to add just a little something different that makes the dishes both delicious and interesting. My only complaint really is that the steak (NY Strip) wasn't cooked at all the way I ordered it (ordered med rare, got med well), but hopefully that's an isolated thing. Service was great. Definitely will go back and try again.

Amazing dinner. Food was spectacular and the steaks were great but the best part was the cheesecake that Eric, our server, recommended. Seriously the cheesecake the best one I’ve ever had.

It was a work lunch. The service could have been faster, so don't go there if you are hurrying to return within an hour. If you're not in a hurry, then it's okay. The food was excellent. I had their salmon entree, and I've had lots of salmons in my lifetime, and this one was so fresh and buttery delicious! I also ordered lobster bisque, and they didn't skimp on the lobster pieces. I highly recommend it.

Capital Grille gives diners a first class experience. The staff is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and just the right level of attentive. The dining room is elegant, with a lot of wood, plus a large skylight. Of course, the food is what really matters. Steaks are scrumptious and cooked perfectly. Appetizers and sides are very good. Order them to share; they are sized for two. Count on a good wine, too. Menu prices are not cheap, but they are fair.

Don't get me wrong the restaurant is beautiful and the food was good. The problem was they are on the restaurant week website claiming to be participating. The waiter made it very clear they were listed as participating but not really participating was his words. I don't think you should be misleading customers like that

This place was amazing! The food was delicious (may I suggest the crab cakes), the service was top notch, and it was beautifully decorated. Bonus points.... it was just a short walk from Hyatt Grand Central where we were staying. Must warn you it will cost a pretty penny.

This place is amazing. The steaks are of very high-quality and cook to perfection of your liking. The sides are well size and cooked with fresh high-quality ingredients. I was amazed at how amazing the steak was. The service was impeccable. Our waiter was great. It is a pricey restaurant, but I recommend coming here if you are seeking a high-quality steakhouse.

Outstanding service and quality. My now preferred The Capital Grille location. There are many great steakhouses to choose from in NYC, but I'd say this spot stands out a bit for its execution and Gotham-esque main dining room.

I've been to their Boston and Bryant Park NYC locations, a few years apart, and their quality simply does not go down. Their Ribeye and Filet Mignon cuts are phenomenal. They offer takeout since the pandemic, which brings great value for the meat you get.

  • 5/5 Emilio R. 2 years ago on Google
The food was absolutely excellent! I ordered the boneless Ribeye and it was perfectly cooked and well seasoned, extremely flavorful. Truffle fries and Cream of Spinach were also 10/10 - the food overall is of the highest quality and taste. Their Moscow Mule was also a perfect combination of tasty and strong which is how drinks should be. Service was good. Overall 5 stars - would definitely return.

This is the best Capital Grille in all of NYC. The service is always stellar and the food is always excellent. We are fans of the “Dirty Goose” Martini and the Surf/Turf and they have always been consistent on every visit. If you are in the city, this is the Capital Grille to visit.

Went on a date night with my friends, this place was great. We ordered bottles to the table and instead of the waitress give us a bucket with ice for the wine she kept going instead to get the wine. Overall it was a nice restaurant

Excellent in decor, Food, and Hospitality. I had a wonderful experience at The Capital Grille. My only reason for not giving five stars. I don't think restaurants should serve Iceberg Lettuce. A pet peeve. But this is a restaurant you must visit. It's absolutely beautiful. The food was very delicious. The service was excellent.

We celebrated my mother-in-law's 70th birthday and it was a lovely experience. The food was good and Jacob, our server, was awesome! 5 - star experience! (They ask for photo ID & proof of vaccination upon entry; however, they do offer outdoor dining. Not sure if outdoor dining requires vaccination or not)

  • 5/5 Sergio L. 2 years ago on Google
I went there a few weeks ago to celebrate a birthday for that same individual as a prior review (a very fortunate individual). We were a large party and reserved the wine vault which was a wonderful experience. The service was impeccable, and despite being completely secluded from the rest of the dining hall our servers never missed a beat. The food was wonderfully cooked, the seafood tower was impressive, and the drinks were fantastic. Ultimately, it’s the service that stands out and I will certainly revisit this location.

It is not a cheap dinner or a cheap experience. It is worth every penny. Their staff is attentive and understands luxury dining and the importance of understanding each detail of what they serve. Make sure you order things exactly as you desire because they will deliver exceptionally. Their cocktails are expertly crafted, and each appetizer and entree was 5 star quality without question. Be a little adventurous on their menu, and you won't regret it. Come prepared for a significant bill but also prepared to have the most amazing dining experience that money can buy for that amount. If you desire a particular wine with dinner, their selection is likely to have your style--it's an extensive list at many price points. Last but not least, the bread they put out comes out warm and with many different types. This is truly a destination eating experience for those that would like a classy taste of luxury.

Dined during restaurant week (winter 2022) and had an ok dining experience. Let’s start with the bad and work our way up: The RW menu isn’t even offered to guests; it’s brought upon request. I understand that restaurants must make ends meet but it puts the guest in an uncomfortable position and it’s not very hospitable of the restaurant to keep that to themselves. The first course is a choice of green or cobb salad. Neither are good. You can make yourself a better appetizer at home. The most effortless salad is just mixed green (which lacked tasty dressing) followed by the cob. It’s like someone in the kitchen cut an iceberg salad in 4, served a piece, poured a lot of bleu cheese / caesar dressing and topped with tomatoes and thick cut bacon pieces. Tasty? Sure, there’s a lot of dressing resting in one side of your plate. But this isn’t what you expect to be served at a fine restaurant. Not even at a discount! The quality of ingredients and poor technique were too obvious to ignore. As a side to out entree we chose the skin-on mashed potatoes (the other option was spinach) which was alright but in comparison to other mashed potatoes, seemed rather tasteless. Now, let’s give this place some credit: what a fine filet mignon! Also, 10 oz is pretty generous for a discounted menu. It was cooked medium rare as ordered and it was so tender it almost melted in your mouth. That steak was enjoyable and I would most certainly return for that alone. For desert I would recommend the cheesecake as it is tasty, light, not too sweet and pairs perfectly with the previous courses. Service was great and even better than expected: it was prompt, respectful, everyone from the hostess to the runners did an amazing job. Hygiene-wise, the place is clean, it’s roomy with an area featuring high ceiling and quite accessible for people with physical disabilities.

This Cap Grill location is a longtime steady, dependable steakhouse. The service is always top-notch and friendly. Unfortunately, this time, the food did not meet expectations. The staff did their best to correct it. However, it just kept getting worse. We gave up eventually. I'm not sure if it's a new kitchen staff but when you pay these prices for the food its gotta be perfect.

  • 2/5 Elliott G. 1 year ago on Google
Although we had excellent service and it was a lovely evening I can’t give more than 2 stars because of the poor quality of the steak. I had bone in NY strip and it was hard with no moisture or taste, almost like it was de-frozen.. for $70 odd dollars you expect fresh meat! Left disappointed after dropping $500 including a $100 tip as service excellent.

This restaurant is a must in NYC. The food is spectacular, and the serve is top notch. We were served by Ray, and he was attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. He was able to make fabulous recommendations, and would always make sure we were happy. This will be our go-to restaurant for years to come.

We ate well at this steak house even though we do not eat beef! The Salads are substantial. And we had not had a Tuna Steak for quite awhile...fresh & tasty. Plus a nice tasting dessert platter for my birthday. Service was excellent!

Came here twice with my husband for our monthly day dates. Both times the ambiance was comfortable, classy and respectful. Staff is always friendly and helpful and the restaurant manager makes his rounds making sure everyone is enjoying themselves. Today, we had Angelo wait on us and not only were all of his recommendations on point but his demeanor was extremely pleasant and welcoming!! I had the daily special: Miso Butter Seabass and my husband had the Capital Grille CheeseBurger. For dessert we shared the coconut cream pie along with a cappuccino, all recommended by Angelo. Wonderful food, experience and will definitely recommend to anyone that wants a great place to eat. Prices are a bit high, but that’s expected with a restaurant of this caliber.

My very first time dining here. It was an AMAZING experience. The food was absolutely AMAZING. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. The drinks were DELICIOUS!! Dessert, OMG... Devine! Marcel our waiter was the best. I will definitely be back. Love, Love Loved it. It was a perfect Mother's Day dinner.

Excellent food. The restaurant does not take Apple pay / contactless pay. It was an issue for us, unfortunately so we had to go back to our hotel to get a debit card. The restaurant manager did not manage the case correctly as he did not trust us, coming back. Not the best way to manage a family , on the top my husband used to coming over as it is closed by his office....

Lobster and Shrimp cocktail are amazing. Cesar Salad is all wrong (especially for NYC) and I think the dressing should be revisited. The soups (we tried 3...lobster bisque, clam chowder, and french onion) were all lacking in one way or another. Dessert of a coconut cream pie of sorts was pretty good. Overall the food was a bit behind the atmosphere, the service and the prices. Expected a bit more, got a bit less. Would definitely try again to try some other dishes. Especially the meats on offer.

It's always a great experience. Each employee makes you feel welcomed and never disappointed by the food... This visit was for lunch.. The ribeye sandwich was cooked to perfection. I had visited other locations and still a great experience by staff and food.

It was quiet on a Sunday evening, but the bar counter where I sat was almost full. Eric the bartender handled all the food & drinks orders (including drinks for other tables) with a smile and an upbeat personality, running back and forth constantly, never resting. At one point, he checked with me if I had asked for the bill. even though I was only half way into my giant 22oz rib-eye. He did apologize and lightheartedly joked he wasn't trying to kick me out. The steak itself was wonderful. I barely finished it cuz it was HUGE! How can anyone eat sides or appetizers, too? Granted, I did cave and eat some of the complimentary bread. I ordered the porcini-rubbed bone-in rib-eye. The 15-year-old balsamic vinegar had this unique sweetness that brought out and enhanced the flavor of the meat. The steak was charred nicely, with just enough bitter burnt bits adding a nice crunch to every bite. My "In Fashion" cocktail was ordinary (like an old-fashioned), but that's not a bad thing. Sometimes pretentious cocktails are awkward.

Had a celebratory birthday dinner at the Chrysler location. Not the biggest steak fan but have been craving it as of late and if your going to enjoy steak, Capital Grille is the place to do so. Service beginning to end was outstanding! Eric is a great asset to this place very hospitable, charming, knowledgeable and attentive. Notable mention of excellent service from Steadmon as well. The meals that adorned our table ranged from NY strip & lobster, salmon, chicken & Dry age NY strip which everyone savored and enjoyed. First rate service and food, will definitely be back.

Dined here for an early dinner during my birthday weekend and was greeted by a kind and attentive hostess. The ambiance was charming and the service staff did an excellent job at ensuring that we had an outstanding dining experience. I had the roasted chicken and parmesan risotto- a great dish that I would recommend for those who don't eat red meat. On the side, I also thoroughly enjoyed their lobster mac 'n' cheese and parmesan truffle fries. I loved the celebratory birthday details and look forward to returning!
