From the outside looking in, you did not expect to see a place with such a nice atmosphere. The dining area has an almost bistro feel to it, and is a great place to socialize with friends and family. The staff is very welcoming and extremely attentive to your needs. The moment you drop something on the floor or may need your glass topped off, there is a waiter or waitress coming up right behind to take care of you. While the food was very very delicious, I did have higher expectations going in. However, the menu was very diverse and I did enjoy everything that I was served! If you are looking for a ramen spot to go to, Ippudo Ramen Westsude is definitely top 5!

I had the pleasure of stopping in here this past weekend, and spoiler alert - I'll definitely be back! The place has an unobtrusive facade, but once you step in you are transported to a little piece of Japan in the city. Christina the hostess was great allowing us options of where to sit, although it was just starting to get busy, and offered some menu recommendations, which my party took advantage of. Overall, a great experience and amazing ramen!

Wow what a unique ramen experience. The burger was very interesting and the paste they used. I think the butter made it quite heavy while the paste was kind of salty. However the corn, bamboo shoots, and other toppings were delicious. Wish they included an egg. Overall 4.8/5.

All the dishes we tried were absolutely delicious. The staff was prompt and cordial, contributing to an overall good dining experience. However, my rating for service is a 4 because of a small oversight: one of the items I initially ordered was unavailable. I opted for an alternative, only to discover that both last ordets contained the same predominant ingredient of chickpea paste. Although both dishes were tasty, knowing they had a common base would have allowed me to make a more varied selection. It would be helpful if the staff could alert customers to such similarities when changes to the original order are needed.

The food was okay, but definitely way overpriced. $23 for a bowl, but the narutomaki and egg are additional toppings you have to pay for. The chasu is not seared and crispy, which is how I prefer it to be. The broth is too salty, and the pork bone broth itself tasted off. It didn't taste clean. The noodles had little to no chew to them, almost felt a bit overcooked. The bamboo shoots, at least, were good. And the service started off good, but when I left a 10% custom tip, the waiter asked me to pay the minimum 20%. I don't mind when restaurants have a minimum tip amount, but it's really weird to ask for more tip when a custom tip option is available. Trust me, this place is overrated and expensive. Walk to some other ramen place, it'll be much better and will probably have better service.

A very decent ramen - I had a spicy one and it did come with a zing. My only minor issue is that an egg does not come as a standard (IMHO it should).

This is the best ramen I've ever had in my life. Granted, I've never been to Japan, but it's hard for me to imagine it can get better than this. All of the appetizers and dessert were also delicious. Service was very attentive. Prices are reasonable for NYC. I'd definitely come back.

To be honest a lot of people liked the ramen here but for me ichiran is the best ramen when it comes to veggie…the taste is far more superior to ippudo…but the options here are way too many compared to ichiran…the desserts are also good ..I would say it’s a personal opinion but definetly a must try place!!!

Unique and yummy dishes! We arrived around 7:30 pm on Tuesday and we were seated within minutes. The atmosphere was nice. The pork bun and takoyaki were some of the best I've had. Great balance of flavors and temperature. The ramen was very interesting, peppery and buttery broth. The best part was the texture of the noodles, but the broth was lukewarm. The unagi rice rolls were presented well and tasted great but on the colder side like it was sitting or not warmed properly. The cocktails were colorful, fun and delicious as well. Highly recommend

Beautiful decor, friendly hostess and service. This ramen spot is on the pricey scale for a very small bowl of ramen. Egg was an additional charge of upwards $3 which that is the price of an entire carton of eggs. Drinks are well done and delicious. Loved the open kitchen concept as they prepared the meals. This is one of the most elegantly designed ramen establishments in the city. Want to impress a date or spark things with a partner, bring them here! Overall incredible experience just that portion sizes are relatively small and the add ons are truly unnecessary considering the price of the ramen. However, delicious and tasty. Highly recommend.

Delicious. No other way to put it. The food came out super fast and everything was absolutely delicious. Very traditional style of food too, don’t expect any crazy new school or fusion type dishes. I wish there were more restaurants like this one. The only thing I would change about my experience would be to show up with an even bigger appetite so I can try more food off the menu!!

I walked in with no reservation for a table of 2 and we seated almost immediately. The server was super attentive and refilled our water cups every time it reached half level. The portion sizes of the appetizers are good enough to share between 2 people. Depending on how many you get, you may not have space for your ramen. The ramen is incredibly flavorful. The bathrooms were super clean too. Would return here again.

Not the best of ramen, pretty much standard service. Reservation is recommended. 20% and beyond tipping is a must with servers paying close attention to you.

Delicious. Not crazy overpriced. Everytime my water was almost empty they filled it. Best spicy tuna roll I've ever had. Had the the summer tan tan which was almost the best tan tan I had. I've rubbed my belly for 5 solid minutes.

I frequently come here whenever I crave for ramen when I am in NYC. I ordered pork bun and Karaka spicy ramen and it’s sooo good! So far one of the best ramen I’ve tasted! They don’t accept reservation, so make sure you arrive early because usually, there’s a long wait to get in especially on a weekend. It’s worth the wait though because it’s really good. The service was good, so far I often got my order fast.

All in all really good. Great flavour ramen which is different from UK menu. Lovely servants always attentive. Recommended to whom may like ramen and sake or Japanese whiskey.

This is always must eat when I visit NYC. One of my favorite ramen place! Doesn’t matter what favor your order, it is always great! Staff was always super helpful and friendly. But for sure makes reservation, because no matter what time they are always busy!

Ippudo is one of my favorite ramen noodle chains. And I love this particular one by Hell's Kitchen. Wonderful cocktail selections. The broth for the ramen noodle soup is flavorful. The bao is amazing as well. Definitely make a reservation — else you'd be waiting for a little while!

Venturing into Ippudo for a unique ramen and dining experience in New York, I found myself in one of the city's coziest and most comfortable spots. Although reservations are not accepted, we opted for seats at the bar, which turned out to be a delightful choice. The staff at Ippudo was truly exceptional. While waiting for our seats, they suggested spending some time at the outdoor bar, seamlessly transitioning to our actual seating when the time came. Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the ramen. Ippudo unquestionably serves one of the best ramen dishes in New York. The flavors were extraordinary, making this visit a memorable culinary journey. If you're in search of a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience, paired with remarkable ramen, Ippudo in NYC is undoubtedly a must-visit.

"Ippudo NY didn't live up to its hype as the best Japanese ramen anymore. Tried the Karaka Spicy Ramen today, and it was nothing like the good old days—worse, the price has shot up to $23 from the $10 I paid in 2005. Taste-wise, it's just not the same. The Takoyaki and Karaoke were decent, but even the draft beer fell flat. Time to scout for better spots!"

Service was good, minor issues. I received mayo instead of honey mustard and received pork loin instead of chicken. The waiter noticed the errors quickly and resolved them. :) The oishii karaage was nicely made! The ramen was good too and the portions are decent!! I would definitely recommend to give this spot a try.

From start to finish we had an excellent dine-in experience. It starts with a clean, friendly atmosphere where each guest is welcomed by the entire staff. We were given amazing recommendations and clear descriptions. We tried their season items : duck tataki and "dreaming of you" (sour lemon drink) which were both extremely tastey. Overall, this has been one of the best Japanese Ramen restaurants we have been too. They are also rated an A so definitely come visit! We appreciate this lovely visit!

The ramen got exceptional flavor, and it was delicious! It left a remarkable taste that I crave after leaving NYC and returning to LA. We got in with no wait and got seated right away. Customer service was excellent as well! 9/10: Recommended to stop by when you're in NY!

I really like the open space kitchen and the bar concept where we choose to eat both times we’ve been. The facade isn’t the most visible but once you understand what it is there’s no going back…you must try it! The ramen is very good, although you have to get the egg as an extra. The side dishes were great, takoyaki balls were nice and in a generous portion. The buns were delicious, I definitely recommend the shrimp and chicken. The karaage was a bit disappointing, tho. Two big in size, big balls, too heavy and overcooked on the outside (good portion tho), just not what I expected from this dish. I totally recommend the pork rice pot, it’s so delicious. The ice cream is good and tasted good after so much food I had. The staff is very friendly, I just didn’t like the pressure over the tip when I considered giving 10% on the second night, rather than 18%, as I think it should be me deciding what to give and not be forced to tip another amount. Overall the experience is great and I recommend Ippudo 100%!

Everything almost perfect at here. Ramen noodles soup is very delicious. I gave 4 stars because 1. served green tea not hot 2. Cook the egg too long a little bit maybe 30 second. But I still enjoy the ramen here.

Friendly service and obviously delicious food! I had the shoyu, it wasn’t slightly different than how it is at most ramen shops I’ve been to (it had a hint of citrus?), but very tasty. To me, the star of the show was the apps. I loved the takoyaki and pork buns. The lychee martini was solid, it was one and done drink for me! Wait on a Friday night wasn’t too long, about 30 mins for a party of 4.

The most impeccable Japanese restaurant I love eating whenever I visit NYC! The taste and atmosphere mimics those from Japan so it's worth the price and the opportunity to eat. My friend and I came around 12pm and we had a brief wait to sit at the bar. We didn't want to sit at the tables since the bar was more brightly lit and had a better feel for the two of us. We each ordered our own ramen, plus their Aburi Unagiri and Oishii Karaage. Both appetizers were top notch and was amazing to the taste. I highly recommend trying both, especially if you enjoy fried chicken and unagi (eel). After dining, as we walked out, it was snowing outside and seeing it through their window was a nice scene to walk out to. The food and experience was worth waiting in the cold and it definitely filled us up before head to MoMA.
