So they name of the hospital has changed and it has gotten worse wow. This hospital used to be so clean , I was in the ER waiting to see a DR and the floor was nasty. It looked as if it hasn't been clean in days. And a cup with something in it was in the room when we got there. It looked nasty, even Harlem hospital isn't nasty like this. And I was raised in Harlem. Make it make sense. Why does a place that offers care and healing , has to be this way. I felt like I was almost in a 3rd world country being there. It was not nice at all. I'm very familiar with this hospital because I used to work here. Terrible experience hands down. And the service lack luster at best.

I arrived at the emergency room at 7pm…with a horrible knee pain. It is 12:11am and the doctor hasn't given me a diagnosis despite only having 4 other patients in the Emergency room. This is the WORST HOspital service I’ve ever experienced. And is not cheap at all. And the worst part is that the radiologist and the nurses and doctors don't even care. They have no sense or urgency. This is beyond infuriating. If you have an injury just go somewhere else!

I was dizzy and misplaced my wallet. I had already been discharged but sat in the waiting room and fell asleep. I woke up and started preparing to leave and realized I didnt have my wallet which had my money, my cards, and my ID. I rushed back into the emergency room. The dr's acted annoyed and the charge nurse was very rude. He told me to go to the gentleman at the emergency room entrance. He asked me to give him my information and said he would fill out a report. I was frantic and near tears. He got up and walked me around to a patient I thought might have seen my wallet in the bathroom. He spoke to them but they didnt see it. We went back to the room I was in. He got on the floor to see if my wallet was under the bed, but it wasn't. As we turned to leave I asked him to please look in the two hampers for dirty linen outside the room Id been in. He put on gloves and emptied the first one which was packed. There was nothing. Then he checked the second bin. As he took out the linen my red purse tumbled to the floor! I screamed and started clapping. He was WONDERFUL!!!! Everyone else, the doctors and especially that nasty male charge nurse, who also talking to another employee in a very unprofessional manner, had made me feel as if I was bothering them. Thank you to this security officer who took the time out to help me! Everyone else in that emergency room needs Customer Care TRAINING!

I'm not kidding when I tell you that this is the worst hospital I've ever seen. The policies at this location are ridiculous. Visiting hours only until 8PM, but at 2PM and 6PM, they tell visitors that it's time to leave, and they threaten to put security on you. And then at 8PM, all doors lock. So, if you want to visit, say, your husband right before he gets an appendectomy, then tough. The people here really couldn't care less, and they'll tell you to just call your husband on the phone. Speaking of phones, let me know if you ever see a nurse here who isn't on their phone. The front desk of the Emergency Department was CONSTANTLY unstaffed, so if you had any questions, or if you were, you know, dying, then good luck finding anybody to help you. The chances of someone being at the desk at any given time are about 30%. We left confidential paperwork from another hospital in one of the rooms (we were referred here from another hospital), and one of the nurses shredded it without asking us if we needed it. Thank goodness we had electronic copies. They promised my husband pain meds if his pain started to get bad. Well, his pain started to get bad. Guess what they didn't give him. That's to say nothing about how dirty the place was, by the way. Dust on so many surfaces. In a hospital. Also to say nothing about how it took EIGHT HOURS to get a CT scan done. EIGHT. HOURS. There's something seriously wrong about the work culture here, because it's obvious that nobody really cares about what they're doing. Don't go here for an emergency, don't go here for a job, don't go here for anything.

Cardiology hospitals play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of patients with heart-related conditions. The quality of care provided by these hospitals can make a significant difference The cardiology hospital and its staff were exceptional in every way. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and kindness. The doctors were knowledgeable, caring, and took the time to explain everything in detail. The nurses were attentive, supportive, and always available to answer my questions. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone seeking heart care.

The nurses here are absolutely rude, they don’t know basic customer skills. I have had horrible experiences with them on multiple occasions. The doctors here are good. It takes an eternity to get anything done though. If you are here for a basic thing expect to be here for at least 6 hours.

I came to this emergency room yesterday with an asthma attack, they literally did not adhere to my emergency 🚨. The nurse on duty was unreceptive unprofessionally most insensitive. I had to go to another hospital 🏥 on 59st I am going to consult an attorney. At the other hospital I was found to have a mass in my throat. Don’t come to this emergency room.they put peoples lives at risk here. They don’t care! Horrible place, it’s more of a death sentence here than anything else. Be very careful here. The nurse was Asian.horrible!

In what American medicine hellscape does it make sense that on the doorstep of a university where every single student, faculty, and staff person has to have Aetna insurance and is directed to Mt Sinai for emergency care, an emergency department would employ physicians who aren’t in-network with Aetna? I was in the ER here three times in a fortnight because the original ER physician who saw me misdiagnosed what was happening and didn’t seem to want to listen to my suspicions about what was going on with my body— suspicions that turned out to be correct. His mistake or stubbornness cost me a $150 copay for each visit; then, to add injury to injury, I found out when the bills started arriving that this doc, who also saw me on my third visit, doesn’t take Aetna. So, now I have two ~$400 out-of-network physician services bills for a doctor I had no choice but to see in emergency situations. Furthermore, I invested the billing code used for my first ER visit and found out that either the doctor or his billing team up-billed my insurance, coding for a higher and more serious level of care and intervention than I received on that visit. Disgraceful and abusive of patients at their most vulnerable, but I wouldn’t put it past an emergency room that 5 years ago sent me a three-figure bill that, when I asked for itemization, turned out to be for “water.” I’d sat in a gown in an exam room-slash-supply closet for eight hours, received no treatment for my issue, and wasn’t even offered a Dixie cup of water from the sink.

Do not let a loved one come here. The nurses and doctors are overworked which makes it unsafe, chaotic, and completely dehumanized. They only pay attention to the patient once you’re borderline dead but pain management and prevention is not even a thought. Other patients are crying for help and nobody listens. Families advocate for their loved ones and are thrown out for speaking up without being allowed to speak with the doctor. And there is absolutely no respectful treatment from the charge nurse. I’ve been to busy ERs. Presbyterian and NYU to be specific and even in the most busiest nights, in the middle of COVID, patients and families are respected and taken care of. I had to take my father out last night who was at risk of a heart attack because he felt unsafe and treated like a piece of garbage. It was the most heartbreaking and embarrassing experience I’ve had. Such a shame that in such a renowned hospital, patients and families feel unsafe, uncared for, and disrespected in the midst of a life or death health situation.

Probably the worst hospital I've ever encountered. Not only could they not find my sister, they kept sending me to one building to another, no one knowing what was going on, or where she was. The most rude was Ms. Gina Ozuna!!! Also, waiting to hear about my sister's disposition, the front desk staff are busy on their cell phones, laughing and carrying on about a baby shower, and so on. Very unprofessional, and inconsiderate about waiting family members!! Avoid this hospital...please!!!

Radiology department at 1111 Amsterdam Avenue, NY, NY. I want to specifically point out that this review is about the radiology department front desk, secretary named Stanley in particular. My husband was scheduled a CT chest and on Friday prior to the test he got a call from Stanley saying that we “have to straighten it out with the insurance regarding the site location”. I spent good two hours on the phone between the insurance carrier and the front desk of radiology. There were no issues with my husband being seen at the Amsterdam Avenue location as per the insurance. I communicated the same to Stanley and Michelle and was assured that we are “good to go”. Today we arrived as scheduled and spent two hours before my husband was taken in because of the same issue- nothing was done since Friday to facilitate our test! My husband missed a day of work and so did I. Again, the review goes only to front desk and not to the techs and radiologists. We won’t come back to this site for sure.

After being treated for the wrong disorder, the medication I received tortured me physically and mentally. I now suffer with a condition called Tardive Dyskenasia which has no cure. Do not put you're fate in this hospital they are medically neglectful with no empathy. I can't believe this hospital is this running. Do not visit. You been warned.

OMG! I’m actually shocked that this hospital is open to the public. I went there because i fainted at work, i was there for approximately 6 hrs. The nurse put me in the wrong department, i was there for 3 hrs, i started to speak out because of the wait time, someone came and brought me to another department in the emergency. After letting them know that i wanted to leave, a doctor finally showed up, he did some blood work and said i will get the result in an hour, that never happened. I started to get upset, the floor manager told me that they’re taking care of patients who are dying. I went to one of the nurse and told him that I’m leaving, he checked the computer and said i was discharged, at this point a doctor never checked up on me letting me know my condition. Do not take your love ones to this hospital, it’s too risky. I also think they’re understaffed, they need more doctors. Health department need to visit this hospital but go under-cover, so they can actually see how the place is been operated.

Thought I was going to a different Mount Sinai and was going to avoid the monstrosity on 100th Street I was wrong this place is a thousand times worse. The staff in this place considers themselves to be above the law and the deny patients their rights under the law. This place must be avoided at all all costs. If you value your medical freedom and your ability to make your own decisions this is not a place you want to be. This place truly evil. They write prescriptions and refuse to talk to the pharmacy

I accompanied a friend who was unwell and stayed by their side throughout the entire ordeal. The hospital's infrastructure is not up to par, and the staff's communication skills are severely lacking. Given the choice, I would not advise seeking medical treatment at this particular hospital. The waiting area was cramped and uncomfortable, making it difficult for patients and their families to relax. The lack of cleanliness was evident throughout the hospital, with dirty floors and unkempt patient rooms. Additionally, the staff seemed overwhelmed and understaffed, leading to long wait times and delays in receiving care. The overall experience was frustrating and disheartening, leaving me with little confidence in the hospital's ability to provide quality healthcare.

Not very good. They messed up the anesthesia and gave him someone else’s dosage, which was way too much and then went into cardiac arrest and had to give him CPR by four doctors and an AED defibrillator. I went through every floor because everyone kept giving me a different floor and building. No security, I just walked right in. The people are all nice and friendly. It is very clean but some places smell.

Terrible they didn’t know what to do with my pains and put me in harms way. Now I have to travel out of my way to a different, better hospital all without a proper diagnosis. I could have been died by then.

I have been attending this clinic and ER in the last 30 years of my life today I go to the ER from being injured on my job and I was discriminated and belittled by a Doctor Who then refused to give me medical treatment. Not only did he verbally stand in the examination room and tell me that he was not going to treat me but he also made it clear and walked off and did not treat me when he was the only medical doctor available for that unit at that time he was very inconsiderable and very disrespectful I am so appalled that the situation and end up happening I had to leave hurting and in pain to go to another hospital. Waited an hour to speak to someone from the administration team and they never showed up but sent someone who couldn’t help so I went to another hospital to receive the right treatment do not take your love ones there Especially if you looking to be taken care of medically correctly and properly because if they allowing doctors that carries out discrimination and does not follow the 405.7 patient law then stay far away from this hospital

My wife was admitted for emergency surgery, assessed and scheduled for appendectomy the following day. After 14 hours in the ER the surgeon decided surgery was indicated. 4 surgeons offered completely different recommendations- 3 recommending surgery and the attending opting for antibiotics and a 7 DAY admission. For 3 days it was 85 to 87 degrees in my wife’s room “the air conditioning broke down” During her stay she became bradycardic with heart rate as low as 35 at the same time her blood pressure acutely rose to 170/90 which continued for days. Her O2 sats started to decrease, trending downward all the while. Attending surgeon argued “cardiology won’t do anything about this and we don’t worry about oxygen sats until the get to about 88” My wife spend the entire stay vomiting and with diarrhea every hour for DAYS with multiple episode of urinary and fecal incontinence, however her linens were NOT changed throughout entire admission. Ultrasound was ordered for calf pain (rule out DVT) which was never performed. Repeat CT scan of abdomen “accidentally” revealed Atelectasis in base of right lung- as well as continued appendicitis- however no pulmonary consult was requested and a chest xray WAS NOT ordered. Surgeon responded “I’m here for the appendix not all this other stuff” he didn’t even listen to her lungs but did order bedside spirometry. All of this occurred while multiple different surgery resident MDs continued to recommend appendectomy at the bedside in disagreement with the attending MD. My wife languished with the wonky vital signs, pain, hourly diarrhea and vomiting and a small but painful sacral decubitus. Insult to injury the attending MD said “even at the best hospitals this is the standard of care” I think that translates into Mt Sinai is not “one of the best” hospitals and unfortunately this is the single point I agree with in this terrible treatment experience.

I know that I would not trust the medical staff in the ER to take care of a stuffed animal. They basically did nothing positive for me in 6 hours. I was kept in a small room with no ventilation, they made me take an xray after having a CT scan and blood work. I was then discharged with no instructions. Turns out at discharge I had 101 fever they could not / would not give me a tylenol (though the nurse thought i had been given on) and it turns out I left with a case of pneumonia which I found out from my pulmonologist next day. I was pressured into an xray so they could check my lungs quickly but nobody ever looked at it. As of 24 hours latter, no blood test results or xray results are available. My doctor made me return to the hospital because he needed a sample. Wait it gets better, the ER can perform the tests but can not give me the results.

I have received excellent medical care at Mount Sinai, but their billing department is a nightmare. I am repeatedly charged for services 100% covered by insurance, but the hospital is trying to squeeze more money out of people. An example is a recent routine colonoscopy that was 100% covered by insurance, and the doctor I saw agreed. I got a HUGE bill! When I complained, the bill was "corrected," but guess what? The amount nearly doubled, and now I have to go back and forth with the hospital and insurance to fix it. Guess what, Mount Sinai! Just like mammograms, routine colonoscopies are covered by insurance BY FEDERAL LAW!!! Now I am facing more billing drama. I had an at-home sleep study. I was told in writing before I took the study my out-of-pocket cost would be less than $400. Today I got a bill for the 3X that amount. After spending 30 minutes calling and emailing, I was told I was being charged a facility fee -- I did not spend the night in the hospital! This was an at-home study! So now I have to call bazillion people to get this bill corrected! The stress from being overbilled is making me sick. I never want to see a doctor associated with this place again. It's not worth the hassle! I feel like they size people up to decide up much money they can squeeze out people. If I knew I was going to be overcharged, I never would have gone ahead with these services. This is why people don't like going to see the doctor. They are frightened of the medical bills and in this case, I have great insurance that cover these costs!!! What is up Mount Sinai??

Dr. Agarwal from Endocrinology is great but his office staffs are super rude. It was my 2nd visit and I had my previous referral from my insurance which covers 6 visits total. The front desk staff made me wait 3.5 hours before sorting their personal things out, completely ignored anything and everything I said, refused to look through my files. I kept on calling my insurance and it was a glitch in Mount Sinai system but the front desk refused to admit it. I had to travel 1.5 hours to get there to see my blood work and they treated me horribly. If I find better doctor nearby, I would not, ever go back to this location.

This hospital needs a redo. The people are sweet. Some need more training. Especially when you see someone having a bowel movement in their hand the staff is just disgusted not helping. Poor man. They also need to be a scent free hospital. People can have bad reactions. Lastly, waiting from 7amSdZzr³ to 8pm for a room is just disgusting. They also have no idea POTS ( Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) Shame on them. Cornell is still my favorite hospital.

At it's best it is exceedingly average and at it's worst it is really bad. The doctors are indifferent and unprofessional. My spouse was transferred here against wishes ( wanted to go to New York Presbyterian) recently. The attending physician could not be found for hours. A request to a Dr. Hernandez to email x-rays to a doctor at Hospital for Special Surgery (Chief of Surgery at HSS) were ignored. If you find yourself needing help when across the street from this hospital, go elsewhere.

this place is one of the best hospitals in New York City the staff is very conscientious they ask and accept your input they have a link where you can look at records and print them you can also share them with your primary doctor or other doctors that you are seeing Doctors are able to view your records online and converse with each other about the best care that should be taken for for your benefit and they will substitute chemical medicines for natural healing herbs when it's feasible I love this place and recommended to anyone looking for experience considerate an understanding Physicians

The conditions in this hospital’s ER are deplorable. My 75 year old mother A. Garcia was brought in on Wednesday, Oct 27 at around 11:50 am via ambulance, due to a fainting incident, she was admitted due to irregularities in her heart, and promised to be moved to a room. Today is 10/29 and she has been in their congested ER (stretchers are about 18 inches apart from each other) for three days now, in a stretcher (not an actual bed). We have pleaded for a room continuously but they keep providing excuses. Her nurses and doctors have been dismissive and careless about her care. In short… the staff’s culture at this hospital is the worse and show very little empathy. Another thing is that the ER is occupied 100% by minorities in this predominantly mixed neighborhood. Why is this? Who are they giving the rooms to? Since she is in for observation, and tests have been administered, I will take her home this morning wether she is discharged or not, and call her doctor. Cornell is a much better hospital with a polite and professional staff. I will take her there if I must.

THE WORST...dirty linen, flies (the insect), full urine bottles on the floor and medical equipment bits all over. Literally forgotten for hours waiting for tests. Doctors, nurses and technicians slow strolling around the floor calling out patient names like they were there to pick up take out. Watched one doctor sit at a computer screen for 6 hours and never see a patient. No pain medicine for hours after being diagnosed with fractured ribs...had to go all "Shirley McLaine" on them to get a single Percocet...cant wit to see how much they bill me for that. Rx's given were sent to a 24 hour pharmacy that WAS NOT OPEN...had to go back and ask again and they told me I was wrong and that it was open...then they change the pharmacy to my local location and the next day that location couldn't give me the rx's because they were still registered at the wrong not open 24 hour location. The security staff was polite and a few of the administrative people were ok. Triage nurse was kind and helpful. A volunteer was the only person who actually helped us get a cup of water after sitting in a treatment room for almost 9 hours. Lab tech who did the x-ray DID NOT KNOW HER RIGHT FROM HER LEFT and tried to x-ray the wrong side of my body. Consistent reply from everyone was that they have a lot of patients...which they did and I am sure they were billing it all out to maximize their profits. Other ill people on gurney's in the hall and at least 3 times, they tried to bring someone into our space and would say they didn't know it was occupied. Best part was when some lab tech with a portable xray machine told me to step inside my room because of covid ( i was standing in the door frame to try and find someone to help us...since staff were walking ( I mean slow strolling) around with masks under their noses and on their chin, I think they should focus on their own covid care....I was fully masked the entire time. We were there so long that the staff shift changed and that was their reason for everything being so messed up... I have no illusion on the state of our health care system but this place is a disaster and should be ashamed of their low quality service...NEVER AGAIN!

Veryyyy slow, the people that work here talk to each other in a non professional way in front of patients, there is also no seats. There was literally one seat which was next to the bathroom… no one wants that. Don’t get me started for waiting for something to alleviate your pain, they will come 1-2 hours later. We also just love nurses on an iPad watching a show while attending two patients. Oh and nurses speaking about patients once they leave.

Update 8/12/2022 Mom is still in hospital recovering, no one is rushing her home, complete opposite of mount sinai, i have not received a call back , after calling , emailing , and updating this review they send you auto pre made messages. Hospital is horrible UPDATE 8/1/2022 I CALLED PATIENT RELATIONS GAVE THEM THE DETAILS AND I ALSO FILLED OUT THE REQUESTED INFORMATION MOUNT SINAI ASKED FOR BELOW MY REVIEW , BUT DIDNT GET CALL BACK. NO FOLLOW UP. MOM STILL IN HOSPITAL. THEY REPLY TO REVIEWS SO THE PUBLIC THINKS THEY ARE TRYING TO RESOLVE BUT NO ONE FOLLOWED UP. If I can give them zero stars I would. I am writing in regards to my mother who was under your care for 12 days. I am very disappointed with the treatment my mother received. She was there for 12 days and discharged too soon. We had to rush her back to hospital via ambulance. Where they ended up having to pull over and bag her because she was full of fluid. She was retaining water and couldn’t breath. They discharged her on a Saturday. We asked if she could stay till Monday. We didn't feel like she was well enough to come home. They made us wait two hours for oxygen tank that never came, than the doctor and nurse wanted us to sign a paper that we didn't want to wait for oxygen, which we decline because we did wait for 2 hours. By Monday night she was back in the hospital at St .John’s Hospital In Yonkers. They are treating her with lasix, which is bringing down the swelling in her hands, feet and legs. That are also giving her antibiotics for a flesh wound that happened in your care that was untreated and undocumented on her discharge papers. The doctors at your hospital are good but some of the nurses are horrible and medical assistants made her feel like she was a burden and made us feel uneasy to the point we tried to be in the room with her as much as possible. Your Staff has no compassion, no empathy, they do not know how to make patients and their family feel better. We understand that healthcare workers have been through a lot and there’s a shortage of healthcare workers but if you’re gonna show up to work you need to have some sympathy and empathy and treat people like human beings not just like another body or chart. She is my mother, grandmother and great mother, your hospital took away her dignity with her begging for help, when no one would answer the call button. My mom left the hospital with a wound on her like from the catheter. They sent her home with petroleum jelly instead of Neosporin; it's not even noted on her discharge papers that she has a wound. It is infected and being treated with antibiotics as we speak. They should have called in a script for that, knowing she is diabetic. It is my understanding this hospital was under new management but it is clearly lacking empathy and training. In school they teach you medicine and discuss bedside manners, you need to address the bedside manners of 10 floor 8 floor and 7th floor . Three rooms and the treat was no better. Your staff needs to feel appreciated so they can take care of the patients, It is really sad that she was treated like a transaction and not a human being

They have cognitive impairments the staff that works in cardiology. They lose test results and give out misinformation. The doctors are great and dedicated and overworked. The union has to much power, It needs to be erricated from the hospital. This seems to be a systemic problem in New York City.

My wife brought me here when I had a super high temp and she found me collapsed on the bathroom floor covered in sweat. I was able to leave after 7 days. Thank god. My stay gave me bed sores, acid indigestion, had me concerned for my vision, made me unhinged, taught me the value of ear plugs, and the hardwired phone didn't work. The AC didn't work. The nurses were oblivious to the strength of eastern sunlight. Heart healthy meals meant 4 packets of sugar and pancake syrup. I felt a strong disconnect from Hippocrates oath. On discharge my prescription was set up at a local pharmacy and took 24 hours to arrange. 24 hrs? Mount Sinai Morningside's wayfinding should only suggest arriving by walking in, ride hail, subway, cab. Nothing else. Arriving by personal car is the stupidest way to arrive but the hospital won't tell you that. They'd much rather pander.

Visit this hospital if it is only life or death. I arrived sick and after 5 days lying in a bed without treatment without having been able to sleep or rest, I came out worse than when I arrived and in order to find care I had to decide to leave without those careless people discharging me from a place that never provided treatment. to my illness already proven on more than 5 occasions by laboratory tests. Now I'm going to start looking for medical care again but this time sicker and with a more advanced illness. This is a poorly organized hospital with the most disgusting bathrooms I have ever seen in a healthcare facility. Good luck if you go, the waits at the ER are long here, between 12 and up to 24 hours, and if you haven't seen or know a pigsty, you just have to use any of the 2 bathrooms that are in the ER.

In my case I spent 5 terrible days looking for health and treatment in this hospital, 5 days they were taking my blood several times a day, the results I saw in the App , they also from time to time came to tell me they were positive but according to them i had to wait for something more and my health worse than when I arrived and without any treatment I still had all the symptoms of the disease and they knew it and continued to test positive in the daily tests done no less than once a day with all the same symptoms that say that the disease describes And yet I continued without treatment. In the end, after 5 days and 4 nights of poor sleep in a place where there are no rules, respect or empathy for others. Where there are no hours of respect for the roommate. I complained on several occasions to the nurse that my roommate left his phone on speaker all night, he was snoring but the news was playing and I couldn't sleep, the nurse just told him honey, could you lower the volume a little at 1, 2,3,4 am in the morning. Disgusting bathrooms, especially those in the emergency area, there on this occasion and on two previous occasions, I have seen blood, feces and dirt everywhere and I don't think they clean them much since you will easily stay there for more than 12 hours and you will be able to see it . Once they take you up to the 3rd floor, more dirt and neglect in those bathrooms, when they take you up to the 5th floor to a room there you will find other bathrooms with little well-done cleaning. Cross your fingers and pray for a dedicated, experienced medical staff plus a roommate who knows the meaning of companionship.

Dr. Nunez (surgeon) is the best thing going at this hospital's location. The Ortho clinic on 114th is pretty good too, but it all depends on who you see. For example, I have a knee injury. One of the PA's on 114, told me that my knee looked "great" and that I had runners knee. I needed a second opinion because my knee was in so much pain, and I can barely walk most of the time due to it buckling. However, at Columbia orthopedics, patella surgery was recommended. So again, it all depends on who you see!

How does a hospital have not one person to contact when they almost kill your child. Until you finally get a patient advocate phone number, nobody answers the phone and there isn't even an option to leave a voicemail to get a callback. There is not one person you can reach at this hospital when there is negligence or even to resolve a simple issue. No supervisor, manager nothing and then they don't even allow you to see your child that they almost killed.

My 94-year-old father-in-law was crossing the street on 3/23 with his walker when a truck came speeding towards him to make a turn on a yellow/red light and ran him over. He was taken to Mount Sanai Morningside’s ER and administered tests, which initially came back as well as could be expected. My partner and I arrived and were permitted in. He was covered in dried blood; nobody had made any effort to clean him up. We were told that there was no bed for him anywhere and would have to stay in the ER. My partner and I went to get food, and when we came back, we were no longer permitted to visit him together, and they were making no effort to move him or bathe him. With his second scan at 5 pm, and everything coming out great, nobody updated his file, so the staff kept assuming he needed surgery and refused to feed him. At 8:00 he called us starving. I was told when I called that they’d leave his nurse a message. After 20 more minutes with no food, I called again and the woman on the phone provided unempathetic customer service and hung up on me. I proceeded to call 25 times until I got her back on the phone, where I waited on hold for 13 minutes for a nurse who never picked up and I was disconnected. At 9 pm my partner took a $45 Uber up to the hospital with food. They would not let him in because it was too late—there are no visiting hours posted on their website. He demanded that someone give his father this food, or any food. The man is 94, was run over by a truck, and hasn’t eaten for 13 hours. Someone “let” my partner in and feed his father. This man is begging us to get him out of there, as it’s awful. I don’t blame him. This is unacceptable. I want to talk to somebody about this to understand the oversights surrounding a 94 year old man who was run over by a truck. Sickos.

Went to visit my step dad with my mom. Because of the current situation both could not go up...understandable. however my mom was not allowed to register and stand on the line for those who registered while i came back down...so she waited downstairs in the lobby in line#1 to register and let others go ahead of her. This is a 74 year old woman. I come down in 30 minutes to find a different guard who was not present upon our arrival accusing my mom of skipping. I asked what the problem was, he says she was supposed to be waiting outside, which we were not told to do. So a 74 year old woman should stand...outside... in the heat (or rain)? This hospital did not clearly think of a plan for the elderly who have to wait.

We had visited the cardiovascular outpatient unit (second floor)couple times, always we had absolutely bad experience. Eventhough we took appointment, Always the waiting is more then 1 hour. In this Covid situation, making people wait like this is completely unfair. Specially for the patient had heart surgery early this July 2020. The front desk staff is totally irresponsible. We don't recommend this location.

If I could rate this hospital a 0 I would. My 89 year old Aunt was admitted Friday for vomiting blood. She had an IV and no diagnostic testing was done. Not even a CT scan. She was discharged on Sunday. She lives alone and is confused. She had no nursing services in on Sunday or Monday morning. She went to the doctor on Monday afternoon and passed out in the office. She was taken by ambulance to Columbia Presbyterian. She was admitted. The doctor there explained the treatment plan to my cousin and told her to go home and get some rest. He said they would not be discharging her. St Luke's is a disgrace

This was the worst experience ever. My mother was rushed to the emergency room due to her gallstone pain getting worst. I rushed from work and when I got to the emergency room, it was about 10 minutes after they had put her inside the department. They didn’t tell my mother anything so I went to talk to one of the doctors and explained to them I had just arrived and we just want to know what are the next steps (what are we waiting for, etc). The doctor answered super sarcastically every single time. I understand it’s the emergency department and it’s very hectic but not once did I approach him with any negative energy and although he was giving me that, I remained calm. It wasn’t until he made a comment where things got worst. I told him, “okay i was just wondering because I just got here and her stones are really hurting her” and he responds “everyone is in pain here.” it was very insensitive and unnecessary. That’s when I got upset but still went back to my mother. An hour has passed and I asked for any updates because my mother was literally crying of the pain and whaling & no one has come to us yet. Someone let me know she was already assigned to a team and to wait. However, her pain got even worst so I asked if someone can please come to at-least give her some medication and every person was so rude and so disrespectful and still didn’t come see her. Finally I had asked what’s the process if we would like to go to another hospital, one of the nurses (who was not doing anything but on her phone that whole time) said “just leave” in such a nasty attitude. So that’s what I did, i ubered my mom to NYPresb where the minute they saw my mother in such pain they gave her medication until they were able to fully assist her. Mind you, there was over 100 patients in NYP as well but they still were so much kinder, way more attentive. I’m so happy I decided to take my mother to another hospital. Who knows what would have happened to her if we stayed in Mount Sinai.

Please be advised that management has unfairly and unjustly treated its security officers now and throughout the pandemic. They are also not acknowleding the fact that these front line essential workers kept the hospital and their patients safe during these trying times as they were under staffed, and subjected to mandatory overtime. For management to not negotiate a fair contract for them is extremely disappointing. @nypost @nydailynews @news12 @abc7NY @pix11news @ny1 @nbcnewyork @cbsnewyork @nycmayor @foxfiveny

So my 94 year old dad broke his arm and required a surgery, we decided to go thru the Mount Sinai morning-side ER. That exprieicnce was a nightmare, all I can say is get there early morning and hope for a room asap. The 4 stars is the result of the following care he got once we got a room at midnight. The care was first rate and his arm is healing well so far (we are a few days into recovery) he was discharged the following day from the procedure.

The rooms aren't kep clean and the staff is "caring" but never makes clear anything about treatment, schedules or timing. "I'll give you your meds in a minute" means maybe 30 minutes later you're still wondering which time zone they were in. "The operation will be at 9am" means 4pm! The room was filthy and the cleaning staff rude and surly. There was chewing gum stuck to the guard rail of my bed: some sterile hospital environment.

The doctors and surgeons at Mount Sinai Morningside saved my life after a serious stage 4 liver laceration where I could easily have bled out. It took 3 operations and 13 units of blood too keep me alive and I thank them. Notably, Dr Talbert, Dr. Parks and Dr Weatherburn. That said, every staff member and nurse were friendly and always showed optimism, were upbeat, and even brought and excepted my humor. I felt nothing but professionalism, compassion and respect from everyone including kitchen staff along with those who kept my room clean. I actually had 2 stays with them. The first ten ten days were attached to my liver injury with 5 days in the ICU and 5 days in surgical recovery. Afterwards I had 20 days in a rehab where the early stages of a Pleural Effusion were found but the completely blown out stage was missed (btw ~ you might want to think twice about the rehab in the vicinity of West 87th & Riverside). I was examined at a follow up appointment with Dr. Talbert. She immediately placed me back into Mount Sinai Morningside. During that 17 day stay 6 liters of fluid were removed from my right lung. I'm home now and on my way to recovery and vibrant health. I do have a ways to go but I feel confident that I'll see my health at 100% in the not too distant future. If you're unlucky enough too require a trauma center, be lucky enough to go to Mount Sinai Morningside. You will be happy that you choose well.

My name is Abunidal Paredes, and I was formerly a patient at St. Luke's Hospital from ages 9 to 13. My experience at the time was very good with the medical staff. This was actually long before the Mount Sinai Health System had purchased this hospital. At age 10 I had my tonsils removed, and I never forget the Doctor's name: Dr. Chang. The outpatient unit I use to see different psychologists like Hilda Salgado and Carmen Veloz. Medical doctors at the time like Sandra Gomez MD, Manuel Mosqueda MD, and Myra Ayala MD. I can't complain about this, as of 2019, the Mount Sinai Health System remains the largest health system in the NYC metropolitan area.

Very disappointed with my experience in their hospital. The name holds such promise of care, and yet, no one cared. Even the so- called social worker lied in her section of the discharge paperwork, saying I responded to things she'd not even asked. I mean, this is a recorded document that can be used to assess me by other facilities. The doctors did not advise me of any outcomes and verbally diagnosed a condition yet are not mentioned in the discharge papers. I had been discharged, and no one told me. Most recently, I received test results that I could not access for some reason. 7 HOURS ... 7 HOURS Mostly in a chair🤷🏾‍♀️

THE EMERGENCY ROOM IS THE WROST THAT I HAVE SEEN. DIRTY AS HELL, BLOOD STAINS ON THE FLOOR ALL OVER. BLANKETS NASTY THEY LOOK LIKE DRY WASH,RUST IN THE CORNERS FROM NONE CLEANING. SUPER FK DIRTY ROOM THE SMELL AND LOOK LIKE STORAGE ROOMS. THE STAFF OVER WORKED They DONT WANT TO DEAL WITH ANY ONE SICK PERSON. Hours and days waiting. Then one gets a bill of hundreds of dollars for the wonderful service, yes they save your live , then one goes home with a different bug. They need to clean house!!!!!

I had a very bad experience with ER when my daughter was admitted no one cares about her and she was like 3 hours with no iv on a chair with much pain i had to find an empty bed and a section for her i even had to check with the ct - scan for the delay so that they could proceed with the imaging The smell in the ER was disgusting i had to report it many times and until more than 24 hour they came to clean it ER nursing staff even is not qualified to be a nurse they left her 3 hours with no iv and they had one butterfinger nurse that she kept on dropping needles and ivs every time she needs to do blood test But when she was admitted after 48 hour waiting in ER everything changed and the floor nurse was amazing So plz do check on ER who ever is responsible of it , it needs to be clean and nurses need to be more careful when dealing with patients

😠 IF YOU LOVE YOUR FAMILY MEMBER DO NOT BRING THEM TO THE R Building , The staff and security are the lowest form of human beings dealing with people with PSYCHIATRIC problems.
