Highly recommended! The owner will tell you a lot about holographs and show you some remarkable works he did with Bill Clinton and Andy Warhol for example. Very good hidden secret of NYC!

This place is AWESOME! I would definitely recommend getting the tour. It's well worth the price! Dr. Laser is super funny and puts on quite a show when presenting the science behind holograms. He could be compared to Bill Nye the Science Guy for adults, but I'm sure he could appeal to kids as well. The art in the museum is spectacular, but the lasers shown on the tour are really really cool. You'll learn and see a lot.

I encourage you to take a class from Dr. Laser--you'll love it! I took a wonderful class here, made my first hologram, learned a ton about holography, and had a lot of fun. Dr. Laser is a great teacher--he helps you dive into hands-on learning very quickly and explains the science and methodology of holography clearly and compellingly--and he is a talented and unique artist. In fact, I betcha the good doctor is the ONLY artist to have created holograms of Andy Warhol, Ed Koch, and Isaac Asimov. Add in the bonus of Dr. Laser's great storytelling abilities and sense of humor, and you have an unforgettable experience. Book a class now! :-)

Watch out, Bill Nye the science guy... Dr. Laser's in the house! If you're looking to do something unique while in NYC, put Holographic Studios at the top of your list. It takes less than a minute to see how obviously passionate and knowledgeable Jason is regarding his field. He takes you on a fun-filled journey (his second career should be comedy) into his holographic lair where you'll discover everything you could never even imagine about this fascinating science. The tour lasts approximately an hour so if you want to be thoroughly entertained while learning something new from a gracious host, make sure to add 240 E 26th Street to your itinerary!

My friends planned a surprise at the museum with Dr. Laser and it exceeded my wildest expectations. We booked the whole place for a private event and it could not have been more perfect. We had to split into two groups due to the number of people in the party but there was a cute courtyard space in the back where we could hang out. Dr. Laser was super informative but kept the conversation really light-hearted and fun. He clearly knows his stuff and is really passionate about lasers and holographs! I highly recommend this museum to anyone who wants a unique experience by Bellevue Hospital. Thanks Dr. Laser!!!

We did a tour today with Dr. Laser and it was such an experience. Not only did we love the studio and the lab, we also really enjoyed our time with Dr. laser as he is very kind, funny and explained the art/science incredibly well. Would definitely recommend the tour to everyone - and it’s something beautifully unusual to do in NYC.

Unique place specializing in holograms, run by a person who was very generous with their time, knowledge, and life stories when my friend and I visited and asked questions about the process of making a hologram.

Amazing! Dr. Laser is full of information. He's welcoming and fascinating. I had no idea what an adventure the time in the studio would offer. I left with the best NYC souvenir. Stop by!

One of the most unique stores in New York City! Jason is the man

  • 5/5 Scott W. 2 years ago on Google
Definitely spring for the tour. Jason knows his stuff upside and down and loves telling you all about it. You will get to see things that aren't in the main display, including the laser downstairs used to make the holograms. He's also had a lot of interesting encounters with some famous folk over the years (bonus: people who know something about recording music should ask him about what local joint he spent some time at...). Covid put a dent in their business and now is the time to get them caught up. When I was there, they happened to be having a fundraiser to keep the doors open. Don't let this venerable, one-of-a-kind enterprise slip away! Every nerd and their kid should make it a point to stop by if they are in NYC and do their part to keep it going. Thank you, Dr. Laser!

Today is Friday ! September 16, 4:55 pm and it’s closed! My grandchildren still seat down at main entry stairs, disappointing!

Made it to Dr. Lasers studio for a bachelor party. What a great experience. Eccentric, knowledgeable, articulate - Dr. Laser Blows your mind with holograms

Came here for a bachelor party and had a great time. I was a little worried it may be boring but was pleasantly surprised with phenomenal science, stories, and mind blowing visuals.

I came from California specifically to experience it once, but due to holiday closures and a tight schedule, I couldn't make it. Today, I checked again, and the reopening is on Tuesday. Unfortunately, I'll be leaving New York on Tuesday. It feels like a missed opportunity in my life. Wishing this place all the best.

One of the most unique places to visit in New York, and Dr "Jason" Lazer (if that is his real name..,.,,.) himself might be even cooler! At the very least he has the best puns this side of the Mississippi, which is very impressive considering if you keep going east of Mississippi you do wrap back around to the other side eventually. Many thanks from Farris and Sia, and extra thanks for staying late to chat :)

This is an extraordinary place! The owner has so many interesting stories. I thought I would spend 20 min and stayed for 1h30 having a brilliant talking with him. Such an amazing person.

We spent about 45 minutes there. Doc Laser was very interesting and thorough with my three teenage boys. He kept them engaged in conversation, and demonstrated and explained few things. We didn’t have time for the tour, otherwise we probably would have done it. Hopefully we can go back a different time for that.

Dr. Laser is such a gem of a human. Not only is he literally a walking encyclopedia on anything related to holograms and lasers but he was so kind, funny, and welcoming. His work speaks for itself. You have to go see it. GO SUPPORT THIS AMAZING LOCAL BUSINESS!

Spectacular place, highly recommended! The gallery is cool to look at, but really the technique and the history and fascinating. The tour was awesome and gave a lot more information (and quite a few more exculsive holograms). Interesting, fun, and visually striking.
