Amazing please to visit, nature walk, specially for birds watchers. We met with a kind volunteer who welcomed us, gave us a quick lay of the land and suggestions on where to go. We will be back and visit again soon.

Discriminatory, and unfairly hostile male staff. We visited Easter Sunday morning with the intent of making a meaningful donation, but was unfortunately met with so much hostility and discrimination from the male staff on duty that we will be looking for another preserve to donate to. As frequent hikers and nature preserve visitors, we know that pets are not allowed in conservancies for good reason, but I do have a US trained and certified service dog (NOT emotional support) for a valid, personal reason. The male staff - without understanding that my dog was a service animal - came shouting at me and my husband using a rude and accusatory tone - despite our patiently answering all his questions and willingness to show proof for the service animal: The staff aggressively asked in front of other guests why we didn’t read the signs (that pets were not allowed on premise). When we said my dog was a service animal, he didn’t believe us and said “that is an emotional support animal” and that we needed to show a “service animal tag/vest“ - this isn’t actually required by the Disability Act. We do have a vest and ID tag but just did not bring with us that morning, knowing they’re not required by the Disability Act as evidence. When we offered to show him the service animal letter and certification - which ARE the only forms of proof needed to comply with the Disability Act - the staff refused to see the letter and continued to angrily dismiss us for “not having a vest”, saying “you better have it with you next time”, and tried to take down our car license number in an intimidating manner. We visited and answered the staff’s questions in complete good faith and respect for the wildlife. Our small service dog is well trained, and was very quiet in my arms throughout the visit to the Conservancy. We are so disappointed to be met with such unwarranted and unfair aggression (on Easter Sunday) at a place that was supposed to welcome a positive and serene experience, according to previous reviews.

Gorgeous nature sanctuary. Upon arrival we were met by a super friendly and hospitable person working here who offered us a free map that was very helpful to find all the trails. The area is full of birds, we saw swans, a wild turkey and a deer. Very quiet on Sunday. Peaceful place with great atmosphere. There’s parking and portable toilets (super clean). Highly recommend this park!

I love this place. Well marked trails, you can hike to the water and during the spring they have breeding ospreys!

Very nice park to hang out and have a walk with anybody or alone. The turkeys and deers are pretty used to humans, and u can see them very closely. Some nice spots for photo shots, and u will not suffer with mosquitoes either.

The Marshlands Conservancy is a gorgeous wildlife sanctuary located in Rye, New York. In June of 2023, I brought my wife and myself for a visit to the Conservancy and we loved traveling through and viewing the massive forest, the meadow, and the multitude of wooded trails. The Marshlands Conservancy is said to be the home for over 230 different species and my wife and I were fortunate to see various different birds and deers roaming the forests. If you enjoy outdoor excursions and love viewing wildlife, then you should definitely visit the Marshlands Conservancy!!!

Quiet and very beautiful. The trail slopes down through a field and woods to a loop trail on a peninsula that juts into a bay off Long Island Sound. Plenty of wildlife - ducks, deer, herons, black squirrels - and great views. Highly recommended!

Quiet, scenic, great place to balance yourself. Deer, wild turkey, and birds of prey are out there for photography. Walking paths are safe and there are wooden structures that pass over the soggy spots, come forget how close to NYC you are and enjoy the serenity.

I love walking the Marshlands and we all help to be clean by picking after ourselves and our fellow visitors. There are over 250 bird species here and there is a unique habitat that we must all protect.

Wonderful niche reserve to enjoy a quite short walk and get close to nature. Comfortable hiking path and can enjoy a moment of solitude while still not far from the urban context!

Easy to moderate walking trail, a bit under 3 miles. Located in Rye, New York near the Jay Heritage Center. Free parking, lovely trail with plenty of wildlife and excellent views of Milton Harbour and Long Island Sound. Only walking, no dogs or bikes. Suitable for children . Good Visitor’s Center with helpful staff.

Beautiful place for a walk anytime of year. We've been coming here for years. It feels a little too crowded some days, so try for an off time.

Such a lovely and relaxing place to walk and see deer and other wildlife. Plus the views when you reach the water are beautiful. Get to see all the mansions on the other side! Note:. No dogs are allowed.

Beautiful, nature, wildlife. Was just there an hour ago 12/26/20 on a -1°c post rain winter day, slightly muddy in the marshland points but that's to be expected, especially after the rain. Little beach, benches to sit here and there, really nice. Parking available in front.
