Perfect for budget-conscious travelers who won't spend much time in the room. The cheapest rooms in Manhattan that aren't at a hostel or have a shared bathroom. The rooms are small but certainly manageable and have great storage features and a full bathroom. The bed is also VERY comfortable, one of the best hotel beds I've had! They have a bunk bed room if you are traveling with another person but don't want to share a bed with them--great idea! The location is amazing: easy walking distance from Port Authority, Penn Station, Times Square, Central Park, and all subway lines. I was a female traveling alone and felt safe in the hotel and outside. Staff was friendly and helpful. Quick check in and check out process. My only note is the rooms are showing some wear and tear, like rust in the shower and water stains on the ceiling. The rooms are clean and nothing is broken, but they are certainly showing their usage. I would stay here again and will recommend it to others!

We stayed at Pod Times Square for 6 nights and it was excellent! The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They let us check in early when we arrived and check out was super quick. The room was small (which is quite normal for NYC) but it had everything you need and was very clean. The windows were built well and decently soundproofed as we were not disturbed from the noise of the city at night. It felt very safe as there are is two sets of elevators and you need a room key to access the elevator to the floor with rooms. They also offer you a complimentary drink at the rooftop bar in the hotel. Overall a wonderful stay and will choose again if I return to NYC.

Im really surprised that we were able to book a room for the price we paid. The location alone makes it so convenient, walking distance to the time square, Broadway, food, shops, train/subway. I can't recommend if enough. Sure, the beds were bunk beds, but for a couple of nights, it's not so bad. Plus it's comfy bed and super clean rooms!

This Hotel’s name is pretty self explanatory. The room I stayed in was quite literally a Pod. If you need lot’s of space or get claustrophobic, find somewhere else to stay. I liked the aesthetic and concept behind this place. The room was nice and modern, though very compact. There are no fridges or microwaves, so be prepared to spend the money you saved on the room on water and eating out. I’ve also never seen an elevator that moves up and down at this speed, which was a bit alarming at first. I was ultimately fascinated by it’s efficiency once I realized I wasn’t free-falling my way down from my room. Over all, the hotel really is a 3-star hotel. I’d definitely consider staying here again.

When we arrived the bed sheets were dirty. They sent directly new ones to the room, but we had to put them on by ourselves. At least they said sorry. If you want your room cleaned you need to put your name and room on a list the dat before. Once we did that, our room was not cleaned. When I went to the reception they just offered to send new towels. Not even a sorry. When I asked to be put on the list for the next day, they said it was already too late. Great service.. You have to pay fees for everything in this hotel but the service sucks.. The rooms are really small, but it is enough to just sleep there. The only good thing is the location.

We stayed for 7 nights and loved this hotel. Location was perfect for access to the theatres and the hotel was very clean. Our room had bunk beds which worked out great for my daughter and I to feel like we had a bit of privacy in the room. Bathroom is small but very well designed and the shower was very spacious. We dined at the hotel restaurant one night and the steak dinner was amazing and worth every penny. The hotel felt very safe and required a keycard to access only your floor.

I ended up getting in really late, much later than I expected for my stay. The front desk was so nice and pleasant, even tho it was super late. Turned out I had accidentally booked my stay 1 day in advance the whole trip. They were able to fix it super quick and had me in my room in under 10 minutes. Check out was a quick breeze and i loved my room. It was the perfect amount for one person and honestly felt spacious for just me. I'm recommending this place to all my friends, especially for solo female traveling alone.

We LOVED our stay here! It is a quiet and relaxing hotel that we were happy to call home for 3 days. Just a short walk to times square. It was so affordable and there was just enough room for the two of us in the queen pod. The heat kicks on immediately when you come in from the cold, (which was a necessity!) and the shower gets nice and hot. I can't complain about a single thing. Everyone was nice and friendly. There is no dresser in the room, but there's room under the bed to slide your suitcase and stuff. There was no fridge or microwave but that's why you're paying a lower rate. And, yes although it may seem like a pain to scan your key card every time you use the elevator, it really does keep each floor nice and quiet. We will most definitely stay at the Pod again next time we visit NYC!!! And I will recommend it as well!

The hotel checks every basic point, that one’s need for a short stay, location, compact rooms , clean and nice staff, I have stayed several times and it has always delivered. This Pod in particular, has Serafina restaurant ( for later drinks at night after the theater, and a night club with a cool vibe and music, right by the elevator) My only observation is that they need to replace those pillows, they are already in very bad shape. About the rest of our experience, it was great ( I always take my own toiletries, body lotion etc, they don’t offer those but yes, there is body wash, shampoo and conditioner in every room, I also pack light) Oh! And they keep and hold the luggage after check out if you’re leaving New York later on, which is very convenient. I enjoy this hotel, we plan to return very soon, they have the best prices most of the times.

Do yourself a favor and book a different hotel that’s honest. I called MULTIPLE times and was on hold 30-45 minutes every single time. I stayed here and was charged an extra night. I have my booking showing where I only booked for 2 nights. The girl at the desk that day seen it and said the manager would have to be the one to refund me. The manager came to the phone and said he would look into it and call me back at the end of the business day. That was almost a month ago and I’ve heard nothing. This was $200 that the hotel took and still hasn’t returned to my account or contacted me. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else so I’m leaving this review to warn you. Please do yourself a favor and just book elsewhere. This was my go to hotel in NYC, but I can’t stay at a place that’s dishonest and has terrible customer service. The day I checked in there was a big commotion in the lobby with a customer and the clerk. The customer asked for the manager several times and the manager refused to come. That’s what managers get paid for. It looked really bad on the hotel that there was a long line of customers waiting to check in and we heard the entire fiasco and one clerk is being tied up because the manager wouldn’t come resolve the issue to free up the other clerk to check in the other 6 guests. The clerks at the front were nice. I have no complaints about them. If you book at this hotel anyway make sure you check every single detail BEFORE you leave and get it resolved right then because if you don’t you will never be able to reach these people. I just want my money back I don’t understand why that’s so hard.

The only thing good about this hotel was the location. Stayed for 5 nights and only had the room cleaned once. Called for towels every night and most of the time just had to go down to the lobby to get them after waiting an hour to have them brought up. When we booked this hotel a few months ago, the website stated parking was available across the street for $30/day. Upon leaving and paying for the parking, it was over $50 a day. When we called the hotel to let them know, they said they were no longer in contract with this parking garage due to the garage losing a few levels and doing construction. Spoke to the manager at the front desk which was pretty much no help whatsoever. Best he could do was “waive the $10/day service fee.” Hah. Service fee for what? Not cleaning the room? Shouldn’t be charging guests in the first place. We then were told that he would give our information to the director who might be able to refund more due to our inconveniences. Haven’t heard one thing since. Do better.

A professional, reputable, and excellent crew like Mark was awesome to deal with. I was truly impressed by how He handled the service correctly with no hassles at all. I won't forget to tell all of my co-workers and relatives about this hotel for sure. No hidden charges compared to others as well. Try their services and you won’t regret it for sure. Outstanding place!

I booked this hotel for 4 nights with a friend in a bunk room. For the price I was a little nervous but I could have not been more wrong! Fast, easy check in and check out. So many outlets near the bed & wifi that worked perfectly with no flaws. Felt very safe with card access being needed to access rooms. A perfect space for two people! Rooms were clean, shower was amazing. Beds were comfy and I slept amazing. Was nervous about the sound level as well because it was on a busy street & it was not loud whatsoever. Could not hear anything above us, or our neighboring rooms. In the perfect area with Times Square & subways in walking distance. Would absolutely stay here again, such an amazing price for a great stay.

Finally, an affordable place to stay in NYC. Perfect for the minimalist. I got a nice bed, clean toilet, shower and tv! If your tastes are more upscale, go pay 4 - 5 times the amount somewhere else. Did I mention that this is in an amazing location? The staff that checked me in and out, were amazing. I'll be back.

I stayed here for the second time. Location is perfect for tourists, with the short walk to Times Square, but also 3 minute walk to Port Authority Bus Station as well, where you have all the Subway lines too, not far from Penn Station either. It's one of the best value hotels in Manhattan. Rooms are perfect when you're out and about, they're cleaned very well, but don't expect to unpack much of your suitcases. I also found the mattresses too soft, but that's just me. Reception stuff look like they are forced to be there, not a pleasant check-in experience once again. Overall the price/value is absolutely worth it.

This was my first visit to New York and I looked at a lot of hotels before booking this one. Yes, the rooms are tiny but for solo travelers or traveling with a friend it actually works quite well. The rooms are clean and relatively quiet. We had bunk beds and they were actually comfortable! I have no complaints about the service we received. We arrived an hour early and were able to check in right away and when we checked out, they were able to hold our bags so we could go enjoy our last day in NY without lugging our suitcases around. I loved the location— 5 min walk from the Port Authority Bus Station, so it doesn’t take long to get anywhere you want in the city. I also liked that you needed your room key to operate the elevator that takes you to your floor. It made me feel a little bit safer staying there. I would definitely stay here again.

For $323 on a Friday night, my friend and I got and room approximately 6ft x 11-12ft and bunk beds. We describe the aesthetic as industrial jailhouse chic. The sliding bathroom door didn’t stay closed, the beds were noisy with any sort of movement. There were plenty of outlets, including many and a television next to each bunk bed. The space, as small as it was, was designed well to maximize organization. The room was reasonably clean. There was shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. There was no ice available. Breakfast does not open on time in the restaurant, and the front desk seems to have no idea of the hours. My friend and I give the location and service 4 stars each, and the room 2 stars.

I have absolutely no complaints. I was able to check in early, and my room was upgraded. The hotel is in a great location, right next to the port authority train/bus station. Staff was friendly, I would definitely stay again. Thanks for letting me have a great birthday.

Stayed in Pod in February 2023. It was just what we needed. Yes the rooms are tiny but they're very thoughtfully laid out. We had a bunk bed room where my friend and I could share a room without having to share a bed! I found it very clean, with exceptionally friendly staff, and most importantly it felt safe to be there. You needed your room key to get in the lift from the lobby, and the area itself is perfectly located - near enough Times Square to be central without being in the thick of the noise!

The room was okay for the price and we did enjoyed it. When we tried to check in early the front desk was incredibly rude about it and to come back until 3pm. When we tried to check in at 3pm, my card wasn’t going thrue because it was kinda damage. Then after she proceeded to bending my card pretty harsh like that was going to help. Upon check out the front desk lady was on her phone the whole time and never looked up as I was talking to her.

Overall the place was fairly clean. There was a lot of very visible dust and there was gum Under that ladder. The fact that they come clean your room during your stay weather you ask or not I would like the dust issue would be controlled.location is perfect , I would recommend public transportation

A relatively upscale version of "cheap and small with good location." The bunk rooms are really only about 10 x 20’, but nicely furnished and surprisingly quiet. Staff is helpful, though there are few amenities besides lodging in the hotel (even non-tap water is unavailable at the time of writing).

I've stayed at multiple pod locations over the years and was never disappointed. Yes it's small but it's cost effective. It's clean, comfortable, sound proof and has a good wifi. That's all you need ! Room cleaning is limited since COVID but it's like that in other hotels I've been too. A great place to stay in NYC

I liked the location. It is very close to subway stations and times square. It has electrical connectors in the bed and has a good view. The staff is very friendly and nice. In general I liked it, but the rooms are too small for the price. They also don't have an ice machine in the corridors or a refrigerator in the rooms. The terrace was closed and the weather was good. But in general I recommended.

Went with a school group, and was greeted with amazing service for such a large group! The breakfast selection was brilliant and the rooms had good views, a great shower but depending on what you choose are a bit tight for comfort.

The room exceeded my expectations. First off, it was quiet (except for regular New York noise you can't escape), clean and the bed was comfy. The bathroom is fairly large. View was great. There's lots of hooks and a safe provided. Standard safety locks on the door. Pillows were supportive and soft. Great place for a quick stay. For the doubles, each person gets a TV that you can connect your own headphones (aux or Bluetooth) to and you each get a switch for a light. I stayed on the bottom bunk, but the ceilings are high so the top bunk wouldn't seem crowded. View was nice, but not sure if I just got lucky on that one!

If you're on a budget and looking for something simple, The Pod is perfect. The beds are comfortable in both the bunk and full sized rooms, and the bathrooms are nice and stocked with nice toiletries! The floor-to-ceiling window is a huge bonus as well. I love the location and have not had any issues in either of my stays at The Pod.

I have so many good things to say about this hotel, I don't know where to start. For having bad experiences in the past with NY Hotels, I was a little traumatized and didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by everything. The staff : Pod Times Square's staff was very helpful all along. The check-in process took 5 minutes tops. They got a package delivery for me, got me extra toilet paper, kept my luggage after check-out and before my flight. It might seem basic, but these details are important when travelling, especially in a city that can be a little mean like NYC (if you've been here a few times you know what I mean). Thanks again for being so nice ! The room : The room looked exactly like it did on the pictures on the website. It was very clean, everything looked new. It comes with free fast Wifi and Cable TV (HBO, MTV, E!, TLC etc). I didn't get my room cleaned for my stay, but it was my choice and they inform you that there won't be cleaning done unless you ask for it. It is a good thing to me, because I don't like knowing someone can come into my room when I'm not there, with all of my belongings there. Plus, who in their daily life changes towels everyday? No one. The only downside was how thin the blanket was BUT you can turn the heat on (or AC) in the room. Sometimes I even turned the heat on too much because I woke up sweating when it was snowing outside. I especially loved the bathroom and the shower, it was very cute (and clean). Location/Price : Honestly you CAN'T get better. I am a solo traveller and the location is amazing, you're right on Times Square and have pretty much all subway lines next to it. From/To the airport, after the AirTrain, you can get on the A directly. You can get Joe's Pizza, Shake Shack, Taco bell and even more, in a 2 blocks radius. You're in the middle of it all and it was very practical. When I told about the location and price of my hotel to my friends, they were all surprised I got such a great bargain but hey, it is what's fantastic about Pod Times Square. I highly recommend this hotel, and will for sure come back on my next stay, no hesitation !

The hotel room as many mentioned was quite small. In short it's the bed, the bathroom and that's about it. And I've heard some rooms have shared bathrooms so do your research first. But all that is countered by the fact that you're in the middle of it all, close to everything, so really, unless you are thinking of staying in the room it's more than okay and is quite cosy despite the smaller size. The rooms are clean, the shower we had was a glass shower with rainjet, quite nice and quite comparable to higher end hotels just small and dorm like. Would absolutely come again. Staff was great if straight forward, but that might be more because we went straight to the room and didn't really ask for much. They seemed quite friendly and helpful whenever we passed by them

This hotel is a hidden gem. Is centrally located in house kitchen with close walking distance to just about most places mid city. The rooms were very clean reasonably priced in a good neighborhood. I will definitely stay again.

The rooms were small… but that’s to be expected. The staff were great! There was no restaurant in the hotel as advertised. There was a bar though. The hotel was right on a busy intersection. I heard a lot of car horns and police sirens all night. While that’s part of Manhattan… it was a bit except the weekends.

An awesome spot to stay in New York City, however note that rooms are quite minimal although clean. We requested a mini fridge and a tea kettle and the hotel was able to provide those. The shower was clogged but they were able to resolve that as well. Overall recommend as a budget friendly option for New York.

Good hotel and good value! Conveniently situated near Times Square and Broadway. A lot of delis, restaurants, and mini markets near the location. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The room was great and is exactly as you can see in the photos. The restaurant/lounge/bar area was very nice. I recommend it!

rooms a bit small, but comfortably furnished. I miss sockets, luckily we had a power strip with us. room was cleaned well and new towels were provided upon request. Staff very friendly and I would definitely recommend the Limo Service to JFK ($85 + tip)

Pod Times Square saved our trip. We were in a bad hotel and were able to get a same-day reservation for a bunk room for about the same price as the budget hotel we originally booked in Jersey. It was tiny but perfect for what we needed and at the right price. You can't beat the location, either. It's a short walk to Times Square, but far enough away that it's a bit quieter. Starbucks around the corner, a nice bar and lounge area. The only thing that would have been better is if the bar had served even light snacks. There was no food service at all. Overall, we were so grateful to have been able to stay at the Pod.

Loved my experience at Pod! Staff were great and my room was the perfect size for my weekend trip to NYC. We had a bunk bed room and it felt like our own little clubhouse to return to! Here's the view from our room!

My sister and I had an amazing time at Podcast Time Square. Although our room was cramped and small, it was overall clean and tidy. It's conveniently located near Times Square, allowing easy access to the city with numerous stores and dining restaurants just a few steps away. The staff went above and beyond to assist us in repairing our bathroom door, which wouldn't close. Additionally, they were very helpful in arranging a car back to the airport, which was extremely convenient. The only downside during our stay was the absence of a microwave or mini fridge. Apart from that, I couldn't find any faults with the place.

  • 4/5 Fifi B. 4 months ago on Google
All the staff were so helpful and nice! The room was clean however there’s a lot of high dust that’s very visible and same thing under the bed. The windows were dirty from the outs which made the view look blah. The room is extremely smaller than what I visualized based on the pics. Great location!

  • 5/5 Orion 11 months ago on Google
Great location and nice rooms! The only bad thing I can say is that the bathroom door and walls in the room is made of frosted glass, so it does lack a bit of privacy given that it's a double bed room and you're in there with someone else. But the room does have a TV for each bed (At least the one I was in) and coat hooks on the walls. Plenty of outlets as well.

  • 3/5 Irfan R. 5 months ago on Google
Tiny (but clean) rooms, be prepared to get used to bumping into the furniture (think shin into bed frame). Slow and unreliable wifi with no option to upgrade. No iron. Only 4 clothes hangers. Thin blankets. No complimentary coffee or tea in the room or in the lobby. Take two elevators to get to your room. Loud cleaning staff that converses very loud in the hallways on a Sunday morning yelling from room to room which will wake you up at 8am. Decent location.

  • 5/5 Chris R. 4 months ago on Google
Rooms are tiny. To be expected, I suppose. Elevators from street to lobby only one worked. Created long lines. Hotel staff was incredible. Location for price was great. Restaurant was a good value. Portions were perfect.

The rooms are small and there is no refrigerator (unless requested) or coffeemaker. The location right next to the Port Authority Bus Terminal is great. It's a good place to appreciate the "Crossroads of the World." I would like to thank Saher for checking me in and enabling me to extend my stay here.

  • 5/5 Bri L. 2 years ago on Google
The staff was quick to fix any issues, the room was small but clean. One thing to note the rooms do not automatically have a mini fridge but you can request one for an upcharge(don't know the price, didn't ask). The beds were super firm so that may be a plus for some but I was not personally a fan. Its very minimalist but the space is used well and until I opened the window I did not realize just how well soundproofed it truly was from the outside noises. Location however has to be my top favorite thing we were walking distance to times square, a subway stop, and a plethora of restaurant options. It was also really secure feeling to get to the actual rooms you have to not only pass directly past the front desk but you have to use your key to get to your floor which was a nice touch. The only thing I would have preferred is maybe one more shelf for clothes and a little less firm of a mattress but overall I was quite satisfied with the experience.

This is a nice, affordable hotel to stay in while in NYC. The rooms and lobby are clean and the staff is friendly. The rooms are small but they are meant to be small. I like the trendy style and decor of the hotel, it’s very unique.

Loved the location of the hotel, check in was easy! Staff was also friendly. There was a restaurant and there were walking tours offered but sadly we could not partake, but next time we will. The room was comfortable, air conditioning and heat worked. Bed and pillows were comfortable, shower was large and water was hot! It was perfect for our stay (only one night) but when we come back to NYC, we will definitely be staying again.

Rooms were clean, service was quick and they held your bags if you arrived early. Only caveat is that we asked if we could check in early and they said yes, but upon arrival they wouldn't let us check in until 3. After over 12 hours in flights and transfers it would've been nice to take a shower in our rooms.

Pods Time Square may not be a 5-star hotel, but it sure has excellent service. My entire stay was comfortable. Check-in was a smooth process, the room was clean, the bed and pillows were comfortable, the heating and AC worked, shower area was just right, and the water was warm! Even the checkout was easy. If you want comfortable accommodation, I recommend this hotel.

Stayed here a couple times now. It's perfect for having a packed day and needed a place to just crash for the night. The rooms are clean and the security for the building is good. Covid restrictions are still in place which thankfully meant our floor was very peaceful and quiet. We parked right across the street which was convenient and had no trouble checking in or out.

Loved it here. Small rooms as expected but not claustrophobic at all. Very clean and well maintained. Comfortable spaces from bedroom to bathroom to lobby. Kind staff. Ponchos at the front desk in case of rain. Serafina restaurant on property with a nice deck overlooking the city. Concierge can hold your luggage for you if you need to drop off your luggage early or have it held after checkout. Situated close to the Javitz Center and Times Square and not far from Penn Station also.

This place is pretty serviceable. As the name implies, everything is quite small, but I was solo traveling so it wasn't an issue, and they're pretty upfront about that anyways. I got a room with a city view and it was pretty great. They only do room service on request, which is totally fine with me, but I figured I'd mention it just in case. Overall, it's pretty much what you see online, there aren't unfortunate surprises once you arrive thankfully. The location is pretty central too.

Modern clean room with a comfortable bed. The shower was amazing. There is a restaurant/bar at lobby level that is rooftop with a very nice scenic view of the city. Staff was very helpful. I traveled solo and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Stayed here for 2 nights with wifey. It's conveniently located; short walk from Penn station where we arrive, short walk to metro, short walk to Times Square. Got a free upgrade from bunk beds to a queen. Size of the room felt similarly small though. Room was a little dusty. A small hole was spotted on the bed sheet. The room door ... The metallic texture captures a lot of stain marks, unpleasant to look at, really needs a wipe down. Really disappointed that the hotel cannot store our luggages for pickup later in the day; thought this is a standard service, but it's Covid times.

I cherished this hotel! It’s only a brief 3 minute stroll from time square! We had amazing views and it was so convenient. These rooms are ideal for a couple or 2 individuals overall. Genuinely for it to be the least expensive lodging for that end of the week we were there, I'm really astonished on how extravagance it was. I had an astonishing perspective, they have a lounge on the lobby level. The front desk gives you a drink voucher to use in the lounge when you check in, and I have to say that the drinks are strong but good. I only needed two drinks & i was done; if you want to be carried up to your room like I was, you'll need three; overall, I would do it again for the price and location, especially considering the prices of NYC hotels. Oh did i mention, it’s soooo many eatery and bars near by. If you are looking to stay here I’d say go for it. 10/10 i recommend. Enjoy some pictures from my visit to NYC ;)

The room was spartan and of course not spacious, but it was clean and quiet. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I think this is a great value for 1 person staying in times square. I was able to walk to Broadway shows and it feels very safe since the elevators are keyed

Overall my husband and I really enjoyed our stay here at the Pod! The room was the perfect size and very efficient. The staff was friendly and the house keeping was prompt. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because the room felt clean but it wasn’t spotless. There were a few hairs on our bedding and towels that were not ours. We simply asked for new ones and house keeping was on it! The floors could be cleaned more before we arrived. They needed to be vacuumed a bit and the bathroom floor felt sticky. Other than that it was a great stay and we would recommend!

This place was absolutely amazing! The rooms were small, but that made it a great experience. You're super close to anything (Times Square, restaurants, bars, subways) and you can get anywhere with public transportation. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, the bathrooms were amazing! The view was beautiful! Highly recommend:)

My partner and I enjoyed the stay in Pod Times Square. On check in we got an upgrade to queen room. Sahar at reception was really welcoming and explained everything to us. The rooms are small, but utilitarian. It would be better if you pack light and bring only small luggage bags as there are not many storage spaces. The beds are comfy and you don't hear much noise from the street, except the odd ambulance or fire engine.
