My wife and I went here for our anniversary. We made a res the day before and let them know about that. We were really excited to have a nice evening. We got a few gift cards to dine there, so we were even more excited to have a good dinner and some drinks. Unfortunately, our excitement quickly died as soon as we met the hostess. She was so rude. When we told her our name for the res she just said to wait a minute, so we did. We waited in front of the podium just staring at her in confusion. She then looked us like we're stupid and said to move to the side for the other guest behind us and helped that guest first. I don’t know why… anyways, she walked us to our table and said have a nice meal. She didn’t smile once. Not once. I felt like we made a mistake already, but we had a gift card and we were going to use it. Our waiter, Jose, was very kind. He explained the menu, got us some drinks, apps, etc. The guacamole had way too much lime in it, but the frito was good. We ordered our entrees and also mentioned about our gift cards. Jose didn't know if they were still valid (but we know they were--there was no exp date written anywhere). He then went to go check if we could use them. When he came back he told us they were already used up. This was weird because we never went to this restaurant before. I saw our entrees come out, and as the server was about to set them down, Jose actually told him, "they can't pay"... so the server took our food away. That was pretty embarrassing. We definitely could've paid without the gift card but oh well. So our food was taken away while they checked on the gift cards. Finally, Jose comes back to tell us the value of the cards and that they DO work. Great. So then we wait for our food to come back. The server bring the food back like 15 minutes later and I was thinking, "I bet this is the same exact food they took away from us". My suspicions were correct. The food was cold. Besides that, the steak wasn't seasoned at all. It was extremely tough and gamey. My wife had short ribs which tasted ok but nothing special. The beans and rice, the basics of Cubano cuisine... they were hard and bland. Jose did a nice gesture at the end though and said "happy anniversary" while giving us some tres leches cake, cava and a candle to blow out. I do appreciate that and it helped make things a little better, but the evening was already spoiled. Luckily, we had a gift card and didn't have to spend our own money though. I will never go back. You can go to Rumba Cubana in Jersey City or Manchego in Union City for a much better meal and ambience. Sad that his restaurant sort of ruined our Anniversary night--but Ben & Jerry's saved the day. The staff at the B&J were super friendly. Reasons to skip this place: 1. Rude hostess. She needs to be trained or replaced. 2. Restaurant is DEAD on a Fri night. 3. More staff than guests dining in. 4. The food is below average. 5. Overpriced. All in all... just don't waste you time and money here.

The restaurant is in a nice location, but that pretty much gives the restaurant free reign to over charge for food and allow their servers and staff to ignore their tables. We had to request, Raul, our server for the night, to acknowledge we were at the table after 15 minutes of being seated. The food itself was OK at best, the drinks were better than the food. I got the skirt steak with rice and i had to double check if i cracked my tooth from the rice. The “culinary” team this restaurant prides themselves on produces mediocre food - there i said it. Our waiter Raul did not check on us once while we were eating nor did he try to accommodate busing of dishes that were finished, filling of water glasses, or even asking if we wanted another drink with our meal. We asked for our side of sweet potato to be wrapped up and it was thrown out by staff. Yes, they made us new boiled sweet potatoes with no frills as in the order - thanks a lot for throwing out the original order and offering boiled sweet potatoes as the replacement. Overall, for a $300+ meal for 4, it was not worth it. Will not be back, unfortunately.

Delicious brunch menu and unique drinks! I recommend waiting until 12pm for Sunday brunch. My husband and I arrived early for an 11:15 reservation and the front door was still locked. We waited to get in, and once they opened the staff was still occupied with opening. We absolutely LOVED the Pear drinks and the Chicken and French Toast was killer! We’ll be back with friends and colleagues!

The view is breathless. We celebrated a friend's B-day this Valentine's weekend. Staff was nice and all, but for some reason service was not on point and we were a large party. We did not eat any meals together. Two of us even received our appetizer and main course approximately 1-2 minutes apart, I was shocked. The only thing we got at the same time was our drinks which we received before any meal. Luckily, the food was delicious so it made the trip and cost worth it. I'm also thankful to our waiter who suggested a cocktail that was not on the menu. I am particular when it comes to drinks and it was delicious. I had someone else try it and they agreed. I would like to go back and hope service is better next time. It's a good place to talk, as the music that is played is not loud. Don't let the price scare you. If you want to experience high end, but at a lesser cost then go here. I recommend this restaurant over all.

Beautiful restaurant, great views of NYC. Perfect location for a special occasion. Delicious food and presentation, but overpriced considering the fact that we are expected to leave our table within 1.5 hours of being seated. We are paying for the experience, which felt speedy. The staff is quick to take your plate to keep things moving. I had to keep saying “hold on” because I wanted to finish my guacamole even though the chips were finished. The gratuity was already added to our check for a party of 4. I was going to give a minimum of 18 percent anyway as our server was great, but philosophically felt it should have been an option.

Delicious foods and okay cocktails.we love the Cuban sandwich, steak & eggs and aged beef burger. The cocktails is very light like no alcohol in it. They charged us $32 cake cut fee plus credit card fee. It is outrageous The staff is friendly and very attentive and the view of NYC is gorgeous so they made up for the high price

The food here is very good. Everything is flavorful. A couple of people in my party of 13 thought their meat was a bit salty, but most of us thought it was fine. They have a very good prefixed menu for events that call for the that sort of thing. And their white sangria is very good. I don't remember the name of the woman that was taking care of us (my partner believes it was Rachel) but she was great! The other servers were, too. There was also a live DJ, and there's a very nice view right outside of you're looking for a photo op at night.

My cousin came into town from DR and I wanted to have a view and food. We choose this place. It was our first time and it did not disappoint. Our waitress Ediliana “Edi” was informative, attentive, and friendly. She provided recommendations and made sure our experience was to par. We ordered 2 bottles of wine and had the paella to share with churrasco. For app we had the ceviche (not my fav) the octopus and empanadas. The empanadas were filled with meat and the octopus was cooked to perfection. The paella was not too moist as it was a Latin spin of your regular Valenciana paella. We loved it. Overall great experience.

We had a Very nice Easter lunch there at the spur of the moment! It was wonderful! The presentation of the food was fabulous and tasted unbelievable!!! Great view of Manhattan! This place is fabulous from the scenic waterfront view of new jersey in the rear, music played by the disc jockey with all genres, ambience of the restaurant decor, excellent food, great drinks, and overall attentive and fast service. This place is so good that I visited with several parties again and again. The overall pricing is reasonable. I absolutely love the bartender Olga, she definitely knows how to make the drink just the way you want it. You can find parking on the street yourself or pay valet $10-15 in cash. The style of the restaurant is definitely dress to impress which I love. You must book reservations to attend this restaurant and use a credit card on file for seating which is charged per person in your party whether they come or not. They really don’t do walk-ins. You must book in advance if you want to experience this restaurant. Also, if you are celebrating a party and you bring a cake, they charge $4 per slice of the cake they cut for each person in your party, and they hold the cake for you until your ready to celebrate and be served.

Zory is awesome 🤩 The real club was inside the ladies room, they really need to hire this girl to DJ. Food was really good, decor was beautiful. They slap on an automatic 18% gratuity (uncalled for.) Overall, I would recommend the place and would go back.

I have been in the restaurant business for over 10 years, and when a guest walks in with a child and 5 month old infant...You should make some sort of accommodations for them especially in one of the coldest months in the year. We drove from NYC, about 30 minutes to arrive. We were cruising down Edgewater and decided to grab a bite somewhere before heading back home. The maitre'd or manager, when asked if a reservation was needed, looked at how my wife and I were dressed and 6 year old son, said NO but insisted it is best to make reservations online. Without looking at the dining room or computer to check for availability, he said this place gets booked pretty quick and we "may" be booked tonight. One of the hostesses looked at him (manager wearing glasses), made eye contact with me and looked back down at the computer with nothing to say. If our attire did not meet code, let us know instead of making us feel uncomfortable with non verbal messages. We were unaware of this until our drive back home. I understand restaurants have their own dress codes but come on...I have worked in some of THE BEST restaurants in NYC, Midtown, where you dine alongside celebrities, politicians, Diplomats, Leaders of Foreign Countries, etc. and we always made accommodations for those who traveled for our dining experience no matter what was on their back or covering their feet ...and with no doubt if a child and infant was present . Lost out on a very good customer. Wish I had tried the food after reading amazing reviews about the menu! Beautiful place, could have better service to match the ambiance.

Port Imperial has a great view to midtown Manhattan and Son Cubano offers this amazing place to eat and have some drinks with its spectacular atmosphere next to the Hudson River. The restaurant is big, nicely decorated, with high ceilings and great location. The menu offers many latin-touch dish options with a high-end presentation. The food is delicious and nicely presented in the table. You'll need a reservation to avoid any unpleasant waiting. Once you get a table service is great, the only downside is their approach to potential customers who call on the phone or show up without reservation (happened to me a couple of times) which could be a lot kinder.

No doubt very nice decor and great view on the city, but food-wise I wasn't impressed. We were celebrating birthday and had a pre-fix menu. It could be better from the regular menu, but selection that we had was mediocre at the best. Skirt steak was very hard to chew. Also I think this place is really overpriced and it literally took them to charge 5 cards almost 45 minutes.

Everything was absolutely fantastic. Our food was great. Drinks were amazing, but service topped it all. Our server Jose was extremely pleasant, professional, attentive, knowledgeable and just outright phenomenal. The location is perfect for any event, and right outside you have the most amazing views of NYC. Will definitely be back. The ONLY suggestion I have is, demand a dress code. Went to Son Cubano to celebrate a family birthday tonight. Everything was amazing. I forgot our servers name, but he was very attentive and able to answer any questions we had. The atmosphere was relaxing and the view was spectacular. All of the food and drinks were delicious and we ate every morsel. We will definitely return to Son Cubano.

If I could give this 10 stars, I would. I threw my husband’s birthday party here last week, and I cannot properly express how above and beyond the team went for just a dinner of 35. Just to go into some detail about the whole event, The Events Coordinator, Amy, made this the easiest and most efficient planning I’ve ever had to do for a party. I got in contact with Amy after being strung along by another venue (just 4 minutes away) for 3 weeks. In less than 48 hours, we got the food menu picked, the reservation set and paid for. Amy single handedly puts anyone else in competition to shame. We went over the possibility of a rain date (and of course it did happen to rain), and the night before/morning of, she gave me the option of moving the party inside and to the next day. She changed everything at so last minute, and it was COMPLETELY worth it. The night of, our head server Barbara took complete control and she did not let me have a single moment of stress. She read my mind on anything and everything that myself or anyone party of the family needed. And not to forget, the food was PERFECT. This is my long winded explanation as to why this location is one myself, and my family will be visiting frequently. Hands down the best.

Placed reservation for a Friday evening and they called to confirm twice. Show up at my reservation time only to be turned away. Extremely dissatisfied with the service and communication will never be back. Restaurant claims I was late which is false...they turned away people celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. Personally I would not count on this place for my special event during covid as they cant seem to manage their floor properly.

Drinks a but pricey for what they are , but bartender did a good job at blending them. Did not have dinner, but based on the taste of some of the appetizers , I can be pretty sure that dinner or lunch will be just as good. Overall , a great spot to take pictures, and excellent for dates and meetings.

They follow protocols to ensure social distancing while maintaining a great social environment and amazing views over looking the water. Grilled Octopus, Salmon, Guacamole dip, and yucca fries were amazing. However, this is the second time ordering their steak (1st time medium rare 2nd time medium) yet it always disappoints as the steak arrived both times at room temperature which makes the steak taste rubbery. The 1st time I brought it to their attention they recooked the same steak and brought it back well done defeating the purpose of ordering medium rare. I changed my entire dish at that point to seafood. My food arrived after the entire party I was with finished their dinner. The 2nd I just chalked it up as a loss. I personally would never order the steak again as it has been consistently disappointing.

We had a great time at this restaurant. We had a party of 8 and we were well taken care of. Food was amazing, drinks were above expectations and the venue was very nice ! We did not wait long for the food or drinks at all. We sat indoors in our own corner of the restaurant. Food we had was the Pernil with Moro rice and Side of Maduros, Red Snapper with coconut rice side of tostones, Salmon and the Chimichurri Steak. The red sangria was one of the best I've ever had, we ever had. My friends also loved the Ketel one with passion fruit drink as well.. Yes restaurant and drinks are a bit on the higher then average price but in our experience it was worth it. Everything down to the bathroom attendant was on point. They service everyone provided was on point, and valet was great as well. Highly recommend this place. Thanks guys for an awesome experience.

I came here with 3 friends for my bday. It was wonderful. We were sat at a booth near the bar which was a plus. However, we were sat near a women's ministry lunch gathering with about 50. Wish we weren't near them but it turned out to be ok. They had bottomless mimosas and bellini's that were made to perfection. We were also suprised about that because we didnt' see that mentioned on the website. Food was excellent especially he ceviche and empanadas. I ordered the lobster paella and it was decent. They didn't give you the whole lobster and I feel that a $50 entree deserves the whole lobster. There was a 1.5 hr time limit per table but let us stay longer. Our waiter Marcus was excellent and extremely accommodating. Our desert drinks were just as good. Overall, everything was fantastic and I do plan here to come again when its warmer because the scenic view is everything.

The place is beautiful and at a great location. However, multiple things noted that didn’t make up for the beautiful atmosphere. First, we were seated by the entrance, every time the doors would open, we’d get a whiff of the freezing air outside. We asked to moved and we relocated to the back where the bar is. Second, their signature drinks are horrible in my opinion. I tried 4 different ones and every single one I sent back. I don’t consider myself picky either. They tried to charge for all drinks that were not drunken, luckily I got those removed. Third, the plates are definitely overpriced. I’d understand if the food was outstanding it would be worth the price considering this place is “high end” but the food was not good enough for these prices. Last, when the bill came, we asked for it to be split, considering we were a party of 7, everyone was paying their own bill, which is common when you go out to eat. The waitress said they couldn’t split the bill. Not even in 2. So had to spend an extra 15 mins breaking the bill down for everyone. We didn’t leave until after all the lights were on and everyone was being asked to leave. Nice place, but would never recommend or go again.

We visited for pre Valentine’s Day celebration. The place itself is very nice, the backdrop of NYC cannot be beat. Today was extra cold so I didn’t do pics outside. Parking is on the street, they also offer valet parking. The food was good and yummy. I had the Camarones al Ajillo, it was delicious! My hubby had the Paella classic, he loved it! It had a good amount of clams, oyster and mussels. I can attest that it was very tasty. We had two drinks, Permanent Vacation and Penny Sour. Both were on point, very well made drinks. For dessert we had the Espresso Flan. It was small, but tasty. At this point I was stuffed. Overall great setting, good food and drinks. Would love to come back during better weather to enjoy the views of NYC 🗽.

I went for my birthday the 4th Friday in January. We were a party of 15. The ambiance was great. In my personal opinion the wait staff could've been slighter better. However, We got FOOD POISONING! 3 people ordered the salmon, 1 had a very large helping of one of those salmon orders and the last ordered the chicken. Totaling 5 dishes and affected patrons. All 5 had identical symptoms within 40minutes of consumption. Nausea, sweating, had chills, headache and severe stomach upset. One forced herself to vomit hours later just to relieve herself. No, these were not and could not be Covid symptoms because for one, several of us were recently tested yielding negative results. Secondly, Covid symptoms don't appear so rapidly and with identical symptoms within a 40 minute to 1 hr time frame among a group. There were several healthcare professionals/providers among us...trust me, we know. The cases were presented to Rhonda, the operational manager, who told us quite frankly, that there was nothing she nor the restaurant could do for us. Overall, the atmosphere was lovely. The surrounding view was the city's finest. Service could have stood to be better for obvious reasons but this one left MUCH to be desired. I shall never return here and am left to no other recourse but to continue to leave REAL reviews on all of my platforms. *Not looking for monetary compensation, just some form of rectification and a genuine apology.

Definitely attracts a crowd that’s for sure. Book in advance for weekends specially in the evening. Good selection of food, it is highly priced though so be prepared. View of the city from some spots. Parking can be found in the area, but it will be difficult. Try and park by ACME which will cost. They also offer valet parking.

Anyhoos my bible study group had a dinner party at this restaurant, I was very impressed. Great ambience, food delicious 👏🏽. Host, servers on point. Can we talk about the view👀 breathtaking! You guys should check ‘em out!

Went here for a family dinner and had an amazing time. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable on all the dishes, and the food that came out quickly was delicious. We sat outside and the views of NYC and the Hudson can not be beat. I will definitely be back.

I would definitely come back here. Customer service was amazing, our waiter from Brazil was extremely friendly and professional, the food arrived on time and let me tell you it was delicious! We celebrated my dad’s birthday and the crew sang happy bday to my dad. The DJ WAS ON FIRE! We were all dancing having a great time. Recommend this place 100%! You will have a beautiful experience.

Most expensive meal I ever paid for but worth EVERY penny. Never have I been made to feel so important alongside family. My son's birthday is super memorable thanks to incredible meal servers and atmosphere. If I'm in the neighborhood, I'd go back. Everything tasted incredible and was a work of art. When I tracked down the manager, I was treated with grace and respect, even though we arrived underdressed and with 5 children. Amazing experience!

First time going there, it’s a really busy restaurant. I like the environment that it’s located at, great for pictures. Even though most of us were late, they were able to hold our table for us. The food was good , I enjoyed my salmon. I think it’s a one time thing for me. Great customer service too.

First time visit, we went out as a family, I even brought along my toddler. Dishes are at least $40 per person. I had the catch of the day with the rice and my partner had the chicken, potatoes and onion plate. Both were really good, I would highly recommend for a nice dining out experience. Service was amazing. From the people who bussed our table to the managers coming out to chat. Very elegant! Mind the dress code and valet was way more efficient, it was $10.

We came here for my husband’s birthday. I have to say the food was absolutely amazing!! And our server Jose M. was extremely professional and very friendly. I look forward to our next visit to such an amazing restaurant!

We were driving around and came across a Cuban restaurant called Son Cubano. As we entered, we were met by hostess who was very friendly and she showed us to our seats. Our waitress Natalie Diaz, who was warm and very informative, helped us choose from the menu as many things sounded delicious.

The ballet parking is not at the door They will make you wait at the bar and after try to squeeze you in mini tables by the bar (doesn’t make sense) If you order fish be prepared looks like an appetizer but if you order Pork because is not healthy they will give you a lot (doesn’t make sense because You pay more money for Fish! The waitress get ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The lady in the restroom ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️ bring money when u go No that she expects tips But she deserves it Overall eating in this restaurant was out of curiosity since says across Nyc but you have to go outside like a little park with trees and lights or seat by the windows that rarely happens since they seat big groups there to Enjoy the view !

After having to leave a local nearby restaurant due to bad service, my girlfriends and I decided to come to Son Cubano, and we’re so glad we did. We mentioned to the host that it was one of my friends 50th Birthday and they definitely made it a memorable one! The host and manager Victor made sure we had a table with a spectacular view. Nick E, the server was super attentive, professional and proper. Will definitely consider coming here any time ! Todo estuvo excelente!!

We went to Son Cubano for the first time to celebrate a graduation. Everything was excellent. Our Server Johnny R along with his helpers did an amazing job. The food was delicious and the atmosphere with wonderful NYC views was very nice. We will return in the future.

Really nice restaurant. Delicious food, great service and beautiful view of the Hudson. Shout out to Daniella and Andres who took very good care of us at the bar. Also enjoyed the 🎶.

David Burke never disappoints. All the creativity and expertise of his culinary skills still stand out while his whimsical aesthetic makes this a magical experience! I’ve never been disappointed in his restaurants and and am so impressed with this one.

the place was beautiful and the bartender that served us ( Luis) was 10/10. However, THE FOOD IS OVERPRICED FOR THE FLAVOR the offer, lacking the special spanish SAZON that cuban food has. Me and my boyfriend had a special dish of the day which it was a big fried fish filled with risotto, shrimp and some oysters, the dish had no flavor in any of the components. for appetizers we had guacamole with chicharrón and fried yuca. The chicharrón had no meat and only fat but the pork tasted like it was not very well cleaned, but the yuca and the guacamole were delicious. lastly my parter made a reservation and when we got to the place they did not have our reservation, that was not big deal because i did not mind even though it was my birthday but that’s should not happen. Hopefully this gets to the chef to make some changes on the dishes that are too much $$$ for what it tastes.
