For being in the heart of Times Square, it actually has an adequate amount of space in the rooms. Make sure you ask for a good City View. The breakfast needs a little love but it's not bad if it's complimentary. Don't forget to use your $30 food & Bev bar credit after 5 p.m. at the bar make sure to reserve a seat to get a good view of the crazy folks on in Times Square. Super friendly staff members the rooms have beautiful robes in them too. Lastly, there's an obscene amount of white sheeps in the hotel. Which I loved

First let me start by saying location is excellent. Second the majority of the staff were extremely helpful. We found the most of the hotel to be very nice with the exception of our room. Our room was clean but looked "beat up". When I went to the front desk to mention these, I was assured I would not be charged for it. When I asked about another room I was reminded by the attendant that I was only staying the one night and would it really bother me. I'm sure the rest of the rooms don't look like mine but for how expensive it is to stay here do you want to risk it

I loved this place. The location of the hotel makes it the best if you are interested in experiencing NY city. They have packages to help tourists explore NYC. The hotel is right at the centre of times Square. The view from the restaurant is excellent, it directly overlooks Times Square. The staff at the reception and Concierge services were extremely helpful. I would definitely stay here again anytime I visit NY.

Took my granddaughter to NYC for her Sweet 16 birthday in November 2021. We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel and it was awesome. The location was perfect for all the places we wanted to visit, and we loved that it was right there in Times Square. We were 2 blocks from Radio City, about 3 blocks from 5th Ave, maybe 5 blocks from Central Park about 3 blocks from the theatre district. It doesn’t get much better than that. We were treated so well by all the staff who were very welcoming and accommodating to us. I mentioned when I checked in that it was my granddaughter’s first trip to the Big Apple and that I would like a room with a good view for her … our room looked out over Times Square … perfect! We had a little trouble with the heating/ ac, but the staff took care of it right away. The concierge was excellent in helping us to navigate to our places of interest. The room was adequate for our stay as we were out and about most of the time. It was always clean when we came back at the end of the day and the beds were super comfortable. Our housekeeper was so very nice and friendly. We always had a nice conversation when we saw each other. It room could use a little updating on the decor, however. I really can’t comment on the food, because we ate our meals off sight. Overall, it was perfect for us. Plan on staying there again when I take my other granddaughter there for her Sweet 16 in a year and a half.

Stayed July 2-7 with 16 year old daughter. Pros: can’t beat the location, black out curtains and surprisingly quiet rooms, lounge overlooks Times Square Cons: clean but dated, $30 room credit pretty useless (mediocre buffet breakfast is $50/2 people and not served everyday, no a la carte; lounge open 5-10pm but we only got to it once as we were out every evening); poor service (we had to wait 10 min on arrival at 1am for someone at desk to check us in, room fan and safe not working and I mentioned this to staff but neither was fixed during our stay, our bags were being couriered to the hotel from our airline and I asked to have them please taken to our room on arrival-they weren’t and I needed to ask again; elevators incredibly slow and 2/3 not working 1 day); I used the 2 hour bike credit which was great tho we did need to upgrade to 4 hours which is the more standard rental time for Central Park.

Great location to experience the excitement of Times Square! Very clean and spacious rooms, comfortable king bed. Front desk service could be a bit more polished. Concierge and housekeeping were fantastic! Recommend staying on a high floor so you can sleep well. Should have an escalator and/or stairs in addition to the elevator to the lobby/restaurant bar

It's literally right in times Square, so if that's you're destination you can't beat it. The view from the dinning room overlooks time square and is stunning. The rooms are a bit grungy, the door to our bathroom was broken, there was mold on the bathroom tiles. We spent almost no time in the hotel though so wasn't much of an issue. There is very little in the way of services and amenities so if you are looking for a location with a lot of on site services this is not it. But it is in the heart of midtown so everything is nearby. I don't think I would stay here again if I went back.

You can think of it as a hotel in the 2Times Square building. The advantage is that the location is great, so you can go anywhere by subway, taxi, or walking. There are many small stores, restaurants, and places to shop nearby. The lobby is on the first floor, so go up and take the elevator again to your room. The upper floor has a restaurant, a tourist information table, and a place to eat breakfast. 📌I would describe the reception staff as a bit rough. It's a pity that the way of speaking or intonation is not refined. 📌The biggest drawback is that the room is not soundproofed at all. I can hear conversations and TV volume clearly in the room next to me. Free water is provided on the first day. Room cleaning is okay. I think this is a decent hotel where a family of four can stay in the heart of Manhattan. I can't strongly recommend it. not too bad

Amazing location. We went for June for our kids’ first visit to NYC and they were blown away by our terrace room. Well worth the price tag. The concierge was incredibly helpful at helping us locate handicap accessible subway stations to get us to our destination.

From check in to check out we loved our stay at this hotel. Great location for us for a first time NY trip. We arrived early to check our bags and sight see and were surprised our room was actually available. Room was perfect and clean, facing broadway and on top floor. Housekeepers and managers were very friendly. The lady at the tourism desk helped us with reservations, restaurant recommendations and directions. Bar staff was very friendly and fast. Breakfast host left me feeling very unwelcome when I went down solo one morning to have a cup of coffee and do a take out for my daughter, told me I would have to pay for 2 breakfast if I sat in the restaurant for coffee. However, the family of 4 that arrived following me were told they have 2 breakfast included but could all help themselves at no extra charge. Our last night there, I got ill and the hotel allowed to me check out late with no hassle at all, that was so appreciated and I am so thankful I had a place to rest before our flight.

This hotel has the BEST staff EVER !!! The Location? SUPERB! We had a room with a balcony which afforded us the opportunity to experience Times Square without the crowds. The front desk staff, the bellhops, the valet parking, the restaurant/bar staff in the Lobby - all get 5 STARS !!!! So close to the all the great shops and the theatres! Even a funny story ! I was just coming back from the M&M Store, and just so happens that there were actually 6 hotel staff members in the lobby and unbeknownst to me, one was the GM of the hotel. I was just kidding but I put on a sad face and said to the entire group how disappointed we were in our room. They were all staring at me. I said "when I booked this room, there were sheep on the balcony in the pictures - we don't have any sheep - we are SHEEPLESS!!, but the balcony 2 rooms over has a sheep!" Then I started laughing because I truly was just kidding and we all had a good laugh. But lo and behold, 10 minutes later, knock on the door, the GM is standing there with a bellhop who is holding a sheep! This area of NYC was actually pastureland in the past therefore sheep everywhere in this hotel as a symbol. I thought that it was very cool of the GM to take the time to bring us a sheep :)

I spent the weekend at this hotel and I can say that the highlight is the location and view of the restaurant. In fact, they are unique. However, the frustrating breakfast experience that we had to wait in 1 hour in line to eat a super limited coffee, with cold, dry and tasteless scrambled eggs, was frustrating. In addition, no one is able to explain that at the end of the coffee, we have to sign for consumption, even if at the beginning we had already put our room number. In addition, if you park the car in the hotel parking lot, be sure to schedule at least 1 hour before the time you need the car, ask them to bring it back, because the hotel hasn’t staff enough to do the job, which added to the NY traffic, they think it takes a long time. Last point, our room was the last one on the floor, near the service door. This gave us a constant feeling that someone was opening the door to our room and we were disturbed by the noises. I don't recommend the hotel.

All things considered the hotel was nice, very comfortable. Rooms were clean and more than adequate. Location very good for tourists but we were there for medical treatment uptown so a bit out of the way. Don't know the price, we were here on points. Service very good. If you're headed to the city for fun, theatre, or 1st time visit I recommend it!

Stayed here 4 nights on very short notice after leaving another hotel that wasn't as expected. They took us in at 1030 at night and we couldn't have been happier. The room was exactly what we expected, the staff was friendly, and the location was really great. It was our first time in NYC. The hotel was walking distance from Hamilton and Lion King. It's just down the road from Ellen's Stardust Diner. It is also only a couple blocks from Radio City Pizza, which had the best slices we got while we were there. Excellent hotel, excellent location, Excellent staff. I'd stay again without hesitation.

From check in to check out, the quality and service was excellent. Front desk service was superb, always greeted with a smile, all queries solved timely, requested room was given, quality of room first class and spotless .Special shout out to Tina on security, remembered for her friendliness. The location is PERFECT. Rooms unexpectedly large for the location. Facilities in the room, spot on. Breakfast served week days only but great quality, eat as you want buffet. Bar staff friendly, prompt service. Will book again. Highly recommend the Renaissance Times Square.

Don't forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any room. This site will compare countless booking web sites and usually will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This place is one of the best in the area. I have been staying here for years. If you stay for a few days you for sure won't be disappointed. Stayed a whole week in two adjacent rooms. The location is outstanding; spot on times Square. In can see the illuminated boards from the window. Comfortable, modern and spacious rooms. The hotel's restaurant is overlooking times Square. The hotel is a few blocks from all Broadway shows. Sometimes, you would hear loud noises from the square up to late night. But overall it's a great choice.

Nice, clean hotel. Friendly/helpful staff. They arranged a trip to the Guggenheim where we were escorted to the front of a very long line and let in first. Housekeeping was amazing and so attentive. We got a standard king room and it was much larger than expected and had a great view of Times Square. The location is pretty perfect if you want to be in midtown or are coming in for broadway shows. One minor FYI if you plan to do any intense “Pilates” in bed with your partner, you might get sheet burns like I did.

Destiny (front desk receptionist) was extremely rude during the entire time of our seven day stay. She appeared to be offended and annoyed every time we called down to the front desk for help or asked her a question. I called from our room asking about upgrade options, she was very dismissive stating the price of another room being over $4000 a night abruptly insinuating that we cannot afford such despite me not asking the price of the room. secondly, it was not disclosed to us that we would receive a $30 credit every night of our state until the third day, which was disclosed to us by another employee. Unprofessional, unfriendly and rude sums up our experience with Destiny. A restaurant experience at hotel was not as great despite the food being good was due to Jimmy, our waiter. Rude and inattentive. We had to ask other waiters to attend to our needs. What was supposed to be a romantic experience, turned into a not so great one. Otherwise, great location, ambiance, hotel food and beautiful hotel. Other staff members were phenomenal and very nice to us.

Renaissance Times Square provided block bookings for my wedding this September and it was a great overall experience working with the special events team to quote and reserve our rooms. It was especially challenging to find a hotel as we were getting married at the end of NY Fashion Week and the start of the UN General Assembly, so availability were at lows and rates were at peaks. Guests from around the world raved about the location and the quality of the rooms, one remarking how cool it was to see Diddy perform on the street during the MTV Music Video Award week. Highly recommend working with this property for any special event needs.

I checked into the Renaissance Times Square on Thursday 1/13/2022, and was utterly disturbed at the service that I received. Upon arrival, I checked into 1 room which was subpar at best. The room was dingy, appeared unclean, and unkept. I subsequently requested another room which mostly appeared better at first glance when I dropped off my bags; however, later that evening, when I returned to the room and started getting ready for bed, I noticed hair on the shower floor, light switches that had not been cleaned thoroughly, stains on the wall near the electrical outlet in the bathroom, floors had not been mopped, etc.....all of which required for me to clean the room. The worst part of this experience was an encounter with Joseph (Night Auditor) who was extremely rude, brash, unprofessional, and aggressive in his interaction with me. Furthermore, despite numerous signs throughout the building coupled with a local ordinance for masks to be worn in all indoor public spaces, Joseph refused to do so. This did not surprise me as he appeared to have an arrogance that evidences a behavior of deviating from the customary standard and handling matters in a manner that is satisfactory to himself with little to no disregard for others. It concerns me that The Renaissance has entrusted the care and concern of its guests to a vile employee such as Joseph particularly when he is acting in a supervisory capacity and influencing the actions of those employees less senior to him. I will not return to this hotel in the future nor will I recommend it to others (as I have done in the past) for any future stays.

This was quite possibly the worst service I have ever received at a hotel. I spent over an hour trying to get a hold of someone to bring pillows and blankets to our room. When I go downstairs to talk to the concierge all I get is attitude. Not to mention the room is fitted with sheets that have holes in them, left unchanged. I’m not sure how Marriott has let this place become so run down.

Last week, my family was staying in the hotel for a special birthday trip, and I called and spoke with Matthew at the Concierge. He facilitated the most magical birthday cupcake for my family, and it’s a memory they will never forget!! I’m forever grateful to Matthew and will continue to recommend this hotel!!!

The rooms aren’t bad and it really is right in Times Square if that is what you’re looking for. However, the rooms aren’t ready at 3pm. The check-in and check-out area is tiny and crowded. We called ahead for both of our cars and only one of the cars was added to the queue for retrieval. We ended up waiting an hour for the car that made it in the queue and almost 2 hours for the other one. It was a nightmare! I also was charged another $500 after checkout for who knows what! I had already paid online on a third party website for the rooms. I think other hotels might be a better bet!

Very disappointed with this hotel. Booked a weekend stay for my daughter’s birthday. They never delivered balloons and chocolates they promised. Even the drink and Birthday cake I ordered was never delivered. When I called to ask what happened, that’s when they sent the drink and a SLICE of cake up to the room, after 11 pm. To make things worse, manager never called as promised either. What a joke!!!! Worst service I’ve ever experienced!!

Excellent hospitality. However they charge you and then provide you with 30$ to use at the r lounge restaurant. But remember they don't have lunch only breakfast that ends at 11 and dinner. So plan accordingly. The view from the r lounge is pretty spectacular. Rooms and wifi are decent

Centrally located and the staff is on top of things! I had accidentally booked the wrong night, and the front desk was kind, and got me into a same day room. Much better than stays at other hotels in the area, I would definitely book this hotel again.

Stayed here by happy accident and really enjoyed it for the most part. The drinks are awesome at the bar. The breakfast is nothing stellar. Clean and comfortable. Centrally located to everything of course. Best place to stay if you’re in town for theatre access. Walkable to all shows.

This hotel is centrally located right in the heart of Times Square. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, grocery stores, and attractions. As with most Renaissance hotels, this is typical with a hip and upbeat atmosphere. All staff interaction from front desk, security, and breakfast was great. The breakfast offers a variety of options: Cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit, eggs, and self service Starbucks coffee. They have both caffeinated and decaffeinated as well as a variety of teas. My standard room was slightly larger than your average New York City room. It was approximately 300 ft.² and perfect for my overnight stay. The room, as well as the rest of the hotel, has a modern and contemporary decor. The shower was great and offered liquid pump body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Anyone reading this review may be surprised by what I’m about to say, considering my 5-star review. The hotel is terrific, however, I won’t stay here again. I’m sensitive to noise and light. With its prime location right on Broadway, in the middle of Times Square, the noise can be irritating at times. The hotel is next to the main plaza where they have concerts. The thumping was annoying, but luckily, it ended by 9 PM. With the shades drawn, the flashing neon light can be seen. I also have a White Noise app on my phone and unfortunately, I still heard the outside noise even though I was on the 14th floor. If you’re sensitive to noise and light, you may want to consider another hotel. I didn’t want this to affect the rating of the hotel itself.

I am a very loyal Marriott customer. I have elite status, and since Covid, when many of the perks were taken away, I make a point of asking what is available to loyal customers when I check in. When I asked, the front desk was super friendly and helpful and provided us with some complementary perks They also gave us a free bottle of wine and a Marriott coffee cup as a welcome gift. Also, the wait staff at the restaurant for breakfast was always great. In particular, we loved George, who worked long hours, but was always very friendly and happy. He also made me gluten-free toast every morning. The restaurant itself is really great. It is surrounded by Windows and because you are in the middle of Times Square. It’s like a constant show. Very fascinating. The hotel itself is a little disappointing. The rooms are painted in a dark gray paint over cheap wood: the closets and vanities look like they were made in a high school shop class. My husband said that wasn’t very nice to the shop class. The rooms were dark, and the ceilings were low. I understand that they cannot change the height of the ceiling, but I would think that a tasteful light decor would make it seem more open and bright. Even when the sun was shining, the room was dark. The nightstands were cheap and mismatched, and one of the lights had a clear bulb so it would shine in your eyes if it was on. Honestly, it just looked like a cheap makeover that was badly done done. The rest of the hotel is interesting but all of it is rundown and worn out. I would not stay here again. We were also subjected to a lot of noise from the street. We were on the 18th floor, but that didn’t shield us from the noise.

Beautiful hotel in a GREAT location. However the R Lounge, with its fantastic views, closes at 10 pm. I would suggest closing tabs @10 and asking patrons to kindly leave for clean up etc.. Then reopening at 1030 pm for guests of the hotel. Many guests, myself included, were disappointed. As far as the hotel staff, everyone was professional and courteous. We stayed in an Executive Suite on the 26th floor which was spacious and clean. For our next visit we'll stay on the fourth floor with a balcony for better views.

Nice spacious room with great views and a mini fridge. Very friendly helpful customer service staff. Good security. Great central location and near subway. I was impressed they even had Aveda products. We enjoyed our stay here in NYC! I Recommend Renaissance hotel for your stay!

Great location yet very unhelpful staff You couldn't possibly get a better location than this hotel in times square. The staff weren't very helpful but the cleaning ladies were very cheerful and greeted us with a nice good morning every morning. I went when it was new years eve so I can't begin to describe how close we were to the ball drop without having to queue for 6 hours. The rooms are ok nothing too special. Overall the amazing location overpowers the quality of the rooms so I would definitely go their again.
