This is the worst experience have we have had at an ER. We arrived by ambulance @2:15 pm & we are still in the ER at 2:35 am the next day. My sister fell(77 years old ) and they want to keep her overnight , except we are still waiting since 8:00pm for a room. The nurse on her case this afternoon was so crazy busy that she took forever to come back to take blood. & now the night nurse Josephine acts like she is doing us a favor to even acknowledge us& told us she might not get settled in a room until tomorrow. That is just WRONG. Putting patients & family in a outside tent in 34 degree weather is just the last straw. I will trust my judgement in the future & go TO WPH - they know how to treat patients. Don’t trust your loved ones to this hospital. !!!

After waiting 5-6 hours in the lobby, I waited 2 hours in the E.R. for an ultra sound and CT scan. It was fascinating that the Tech for the CT Scan and the tech for the Ultra Sound each brought up how they disliked working at this hospital. The first tech brought it up on his own accord, and I asked the second one to get another opinion on the place. She readily told me her own thoughts. The E.R. doctor was cold and only looked at me to say that I was being sent in for scans. His bed-side manner was not bad; rather, it was non-existent. Regardless of my medical condition, this was a 1 out of 10 rating on how a human being should be treated in an emergency situation. Or, really, in any medical situation. I would not recommend this hospital to a single person for any ailment. I see that this hospital places an automated comment at the end of each comment, as if that will make other people's E.R. experiences or my own seem not as bad as it sounds. I assure you that this E.R. is very poorly staffed and managed. Let the frequency of the comments on the E.R. over a period of time suffice to convince you not to go here for a medical emergency.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review after my family I spent about 30 hours in the ER with my grandmother. As one of my grandmother's primary caregivers, it is my responsibility to make sure that she is well cared for and safe. My ability to do that went out the door once she entered the walls of "New York-Presbyterian Westchester" formerly known as Lawrence Hospital. I watched her suffer in excruciating pain after breaking her hip, receiving no pain meds for over 24 hours. I watched her suffer through severe and vivid panicked hallucinations for 24 hours before receiving any medication other than blood thinners. I watched her develop a sore on her forehead from being stuck in a fixed and uncomfortable position leaning her head directly on to the rail without anyone offering her a pillow or even me being able to grab someone to get her a pillow. I was only able to remedy the situation after asking a family member to drop off blankets for her. I went home very late at night, only to return early the next morning to find her in the same position and in the same circumstances described above, blankets soiled, no pillow, one thin white blanket covering her for modesty. Did I mention she spent these 24 hours in a crowded hallway right by the entrance on a winter day where the wind blew into the hallway each time the door opened? Her only saving graces were that I spent the night googling everything an elderly person with a hip fracture would need and arriving to find a calm, caring and empathetic nurse named Katlyn Flores who upon my request, got my grandmother what she needed to get a little more comfortable while awaiting surgery. Once this nurse was able to flag down orthopedics, they arrived promptly and began to get the ball rolling for surgery and allowed my family time to prepare the needed paperwork. There were many miscommunication glitches between departments and our family and within our family which led to delay after delay. I tried to take on managing her care for our family to streamline the communication but was unable to see her doctors until the next day. After hours of asking to see her doctor/s, they sent a PA who didn't know her case well, didn't have any authority to make decisions, who said he would call in 20 minutes and didn't call for 10 hours. I am happy to report that my grandmother has finally received the surgery she needed with a great orthopedic doctor and surgeon. However, our experience in the ER will leave me haunted probably forever. Thank God she probably won't remember it, but I will. I tried very hard to get her a transfer to White Plains Hospital but there is some kind of health insurance or liability loophole (how very American!) where a patient is not allowed to sign themselves out AMA if they are taking an ambulance. So because my grandmother couldn't walk we were not allowed to leave the hospital. We were literally trapped in the ER hallway for 24 hours. It was a nightmare. I write this review early in the morning hours because I genuinely cannot sleep through the night after this experience with my much beloved grandma. I hope that if you are a patient or prospective patient reading this review, you will prepare your family to go anywhere but this hospital for emergency care in Westchester County.

The first people we dealt with in the emergency room were not very caring or helpful, even though my son was in agony, but once we got an emergency doctor, she was wonderful. She arranged speedily for tests that revealed the source of extreme pain, explained her reasons and was reassuring and caring. He was admitted, got a room and even an interview with the surgeon that evening. The next day an experienced, skillful and kind doctor took out his gall bladder and kept in touch with me. The nurses were fine. We were very happy and grateful for the care we got from this hospital

Had an awesome experience giving birth at this hospital! the nurses and doctors are definitely pro mom and baby. Immediate skin to skin, delayed cord clamping AND they waited for the placenta to come out on its own compared to forcefully removing it. They were so patient with me and I’m forever grateful!

Amazing staff at the ER, ICU, and telemetry (3 North) section. I must say that I've had mixed experiences at times with the ER, but when I arrived Tuesday with a real emergency (heart attack) I was whisked inside, evaluated, and up to surgery within ten minutes of check-in. Two hours later I was in recovery, and for the remaining three days of my stay I had incredible care from nurses, PA's, food service, cleaning and maintenance, etc. Thank you!

My wife was in active labor and the nurse, Saida, left us alone for over 15 minutes while I kept her through pushing. My wife was a high risk pregnancy so this absence was overly concerning. Incredible to think that this is an acceptable practice at this hospital. I’m actively advising people to have their babies elsewhere.

If I could give no stars I would! The doctors and most of the nurses are lovely. But the nurses aides are horrible, one in particular came into my clients room with a very nasty attitude, and this is the second time that this walking piece of pig vomit has come to take care of my client.. it costs nothing to be a decent human being but I guess being a degenerate is more fun 🙄 made a complaint with the nurse assigned she was very nice and agreed that the aide was rude. Now the manager is another story, way to go with not following up Althea. This hospital is not as great as a lot of people think... I can say that from experience. The 6th floor needs a lot , a lot of improvement. Get rid of some of the useless humans that you employ.

We once had a visit to the ER that lasted almost 17 hours for my daughter who just turned 4. They never found out what was wrong with her. Her actual pediatrician found out a few days later that it was mono. The ER had also tested her for mono but never informed us of her results one way or another after discharging her which would have saved us repeated testing to try to find what was wrong. Everyone is friendly enough--- but being friendly doesn't make up for the disorganization and lack of communication that takes place in that ER. We were told by staff themselves that we should go straight to a children's hospital if possible in the future.

The nurses are great, and it’s not their fault, but I’m only writing a review because we need to talk about the ER here. This hospital is in desperate need of change in structure, aesthetics, and care. I went last week and spent close to 5 hours seeing absolutely no one. They checked my vitals as soon as I walked in, which was great but now I have a bill in the mail for the worst experience ever. Others were there for hours, too - the waiting room was packed and the two tents outside. Some were too worried to go elsewhere because of personal/insurance charges, while others were lucky enough to leave. The department dealing with registration had to call patients from their cellphone to expedite the check-in process. Unfortunately, my mother is there right now, in so much pain, they checked her vitals, so she then has no choice to go elsewhere. She arrived at 8:30 AM and was told that there were people in front of her waiting to be seen since 4:00 AM. I feel bad for the staff here - these nurses need support! A sincere sorry is not enough - there needs to be action.

I am to deliver in January and called the hospital to get more information in regards of the registration and services provided. I had some of the most unpleasant conversations with the staff there. Very rude on the phone, sound very bothered when you ask questions and make you feel like you’re asking stupid questions. Very disappointed given that my OBGYN is very pleasant and kind to me and she unfortunately is affiliated with this hospital. I am now forced to look into other hospitals to deliver and doing that on my eight month of pregnancy does not make me feel good at all.

Six hours and still waiting to be seen by a doctor….watched a woman struggle to get her son in with no help from the staff…either the staff is super lazy or that incompetent. Who is running the show???? I went to another ER and was diagnosed with a bowel obstruction…I sat in LH with no pain meds or cohesive diagnostic plan all night. You can die of of a bowel obstruction as long as you are wearing a mask….

The first bitter experience with this hospital was 7 years ago when my son was born. First of all there was a mess of doctors with unnecessary visits to the pregnant women. Secondly they assigned us to a racist incompetent pediatrician, which we changed after a few visits. The third disappointed was this week. We were advised by a specialist to get some blood tests and an ultrasound in this hospital. My mother is old and not a native English speaker. She needs my presence all the time while doing these tests. Nobody told me when we scheduled the appointment that you have to be covid vaccinated to access the hospital. In addition to that, 2 days after I tried to get access to my chart to see the results, but I couldn't. I stayed on the phone with hospital for about 45 min only to hear that the only way to get the results was when I would go and visit my doctor. Pretty disappointing, knowing that evey other hospital I go to is accessible via my chart. I do not recommend this hospital.

Even one star is too many for this hospital. This place is disgustingly dirty. I was afraid to touch anything. I had an MRI scheduled and went through all the hoops. Once I was entering the MRI room and was told that I cannot have a bracelet on that I have had on me since I was 13 years old. It’s part of my religion. I have had numerous MRIs in the last 3 years and no one has ever asked me to remove my bracelet. They understand and wrap it with tape. Today was the first when the technician gave me such a hard time and spoke very rudely. I had to walk away because there is no way they were going to cut my bracelet off. I will take my business somewhere else where people are compassionate and have some manners.

I visited 12/13/23 I am pregnant and visited 12/06/23 to receive a IV due to dehydration. When I returned 12/13 the Asian nurse who checked my vitals was very rude when asked what was wrong and why am I back if I was just here. I explained that I was put on meds for pregnancy nausea and my throat is extremely swollen. I was unsure if it could be an allergic reaction or a tonsillitis flare that I have every few years. I explained that I had chills, was extremely uncomfortable. She proceeded to say well I don’t think we can do anything for you with an attitude and I’ll let the back deal with you as if my issues ruined her day. When I got to the back the doctor was extremely impatient I couldn’t tolerate the throat swab because my mouth was swollen and I kept producing a lot of saliva he kept stomping like a child and had extremely disgusting bedside manner. Today 12/15 /23 my throat is swollen shut again because my meds cannot be filled and I’ve been calling back and so has the pharmacy to get the doctor to prescribe a different brand of meds. No solution what do ever. Now today I will have to go back to this hospital and I hope I don’t encounter the same rude staff.

Zero Stars. What a terrible experience. Went to the ER on Sunday, 3 hour wait, a nurse missed my vein and hit a nerve when taking blood... "oops my bad, do you want someone else to do this?" Ummm WHAT? I was ultimately given Benadryl and sent home, when I came in complaining of many symptoms related to an adverse reaction to an antibiotic. Fast forward to Tuesday, I am back at the ER at 11am with the same symptoms, but worse and intensifying. This time it was a 6 hour wait to be let into the ER, plus another hour before a (rude) nurse took my vitals. Ultimately, I was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday EVENING at 9pm!!! I spent the entire day and night on Tuesday in the ER, and spent Wednesday in the ER also, until 7pm, because they didn't have any open beds upstairs (sure.) It's now Thursday morning, its 5am and i just returned from the MRI tube. I asked the nurse for a muscle relaxant that was given to me at 7pm the night prior - the nurse doesn't have a record of that in my chart... OK, but, really now, you're the nurse that gave it to me! I could go into much greater detail of how terrible this hospital and its staff are, but I will save the full blown tear down for another day, simply because the neurologist here is great and that's what I'm here for really. But... Eff this Effing hospital and literally everyone thay works here. What rude, inefficient, inattentive, inappropriate staff they employ here. The effing ER Charge Nurse, named Siobhan, spent the entire time that i was there, smacking her chewing gum, shopping on the internet, and loudly proclaiming thay she was ready to go on break but was waiting on another nurse to finish paperwork. Unreal. This hospital is trash. NYP took over and it became corporate medicine 101. Don't come here if you have an option or choice. Go to White Plains or even New Rochelle. Seriously.

If you are sick and in need of urgent assistance, please do not come here. Waited in the emergency room for over 7 hours with only 3 people ahead of me. The nurses made fun of a patient that was crying of pain and told her to stop being dramatic. They showed absolutely zero compassion and made comments about her as she exited the building. You would think nurses would show empathy for sick people but nope.

Totally unreliable totally biased. Downright disrespectful. I would like to know how I was supposed to throw my partner back out in the car in the cold Because of the no guests rule. Here’s the thing the lobby was open with family members and it’s not supposed to be like that. I ended up leaving and I’m going to an urgent care today. But when you misspell my name five times, tell me every excuse in the world, yet me being 1 of 2 white patients. Yet we both had to excuse our significant others. Totally biased prejudice and disrespectful. Totally unreliable if you can’t even tell me an estimate of how long it’s going to take while you’re too busy joking around with the security guard. Never returning and will dodge it like the plague. Also if masks are required at all times why were people removing them, and eating and drinking and multiple activities where they didn’t have masks on. I would’ve had more risk waiting in a triage without wait times that’s overcrowded then it would be for me to muscle through and go to a UC today.

I have never experienced a worse ER. The female Nurse Practitioner assigned (1/19/23) was outright rude and condescending, had zero bedside manner and provided little explanation of testings or results. It took over 6 1/2 hours to have a cat scan (after being transferred to this hospital by ambulance) and hours more for results. She told us blood work results were "normal", however printed records clearly stated, in capitals "ABNORMAL" in three categories. It was over an hour wait for her to complete the discharge papers. Nursing staff was observed talking and shopping on internet rather than attending to patients. The rooms were dirty, with garbage from prior occupants over flowing and light debris- same for bathroom. Patients nearby were expressing similar misgivings and frustration about their treatment in this ER. My disabled spouse (71 years old) had to wait in an outside tent in 35 degree weather for the total of 9 hours which we were there as the indoor waiting room is used for COVID patients.

I could not have had a better experience with my recent laparoscopic surgery at Lawrence Hospital. Due to Covid restrictions my husband was not allowed to stay with me at all. This was my first surgery and I was extremely nervous. The entire staff .. starting with Donna at registration who walked me to pre-op, to my pre-op and recovery nurses Bincy and Christy who’s attention and care was limitless, to my OR nurse Katrina who made me as comfortable as possible, to my transporter who made sure my husband knew how much help I was going to need at discharge, were all absolutely amazing. I was told to be there at 6am, arrived right on time, was registered and in preop by 7, with surgery starting at 8am. Thanks to my anesthesiologist and brilliant surgeon, surgery went well, and though recovery was rough, I couldn’t have asked for a better team. I received a follow up call from my OR nurse 3 days later and am home recovering. A small Hospital with great staff. Thank you!

I will never recommend this hospital to anyone. I had a coworker that had a stroke and was taken to the ER room there to be treated. I was not able to get a hold of her, started to contact a whole bunch of Hospital and the last on the list was Lawrence. I called the hospital to find out if she was admitted but the staff lied to me, one took my number down and said she will get back to me which she did but I do not believe she did even look for my coworker in the database. They had me on hold for a long time too before even try to help. I express to them that I am 7 months pregnant and one vacation freaking out about a very good coworker of mine. I even expressed to them that she doesn't carry a cellphone and she haven't been home. All I wanted was for the hospital to help me locate my coworker. My coworker have been in Lawrence Hospital since Monday night.

The bedside manner provided by this hospital is terrible. The front desk staff are nice and try to help you, but are stymied by the administration. For example, in post op recovery phase 2 the patient is supposed to get food and water, they failed to provide that. They failed to communicate any meaningful information with us even though the surgery was delayed by over four hours. The staff are competent medically, but in every other way it was a terrible experience and I would recommend other hospitals over this one. The lack of communication concerning the status of patients to their families is completely unacceptable.

I have been here since 11:30 am and is 8:41pm and still here. If you don't go to the doctor or nurses, you will never get anything done or get results. Just got my daughter scan results now to tell me she needs an ultrasound. Don't understand why both things couldn't be done from the beginning instead of waiting for over 9 hours to tell me she still has to wait. All these hours and not even a courtesy of asking if we need at least a cup of ice or water. Is disgusting how people are treated. The person in the next room was throwing up constantly & no one came in to check on him. I will never come back here. Went to ask the doctor after another hour, waiting for her to get the ultrasound or to give me a referral, and he claims his computer is not working. I asked if he could go to another computer, and he stated he's waiting for a new mouse. That tells you how unprofessional these people are. All that time, and he never came to give my adult daughter the results until we signed out.

If I could give this place one star I would this hospital is horrible please avoid going here at all cost and go somewhere else!! Moving forward I’m laying in the bed now waiting for the nurse to come see me some other lady comes into the room. She was in the waiting area and came after me. I was sitting on that bed in that room for 15 minutes and she gets seen first!! Wow I’m crying and screaming in severe pain Is best to go to another hospital they do not care about you at this hospital avoided at all cost please listen.. The nurses are rude disrespectful and inconsiderate you will never ever ever see me go to this hospital again beware.

I had surgery here through the Outpatient Ambulatory Surgery department. The nurses and doctors provided exceptional care. I felt safe and do recommend having surgery at Lawrence. Instead of heading into the city, the convenience and same quality care from a larger hospital given at a smaller location makes it the ideal place for surgery! They have a new unit, too!

There isn't enough characters to explain the horror I experienced there. Three days no blood pressure meds I take on a regular by day 3 my blood pressure was through the roof. They said never pu it in my chart along with 2 other meds. Then back track and said they only give if it doesn't need to be regulated. Where do they do that....Lawrence Hospital. I could go on. Asking me to sleep with a mask on because they brought someone in coughing and mucous coming up and they had on mask and shields and what look like hazard suits and gloves but was going to let me sleep in there. I could continue but I won't. What I will say is NEVER again will I go there. So sad to see how they went down the tube use to be a top rated hospital

I’ve never experienced such horrible time management and worse bed side manner than I witnessed when I was with a family member as a patient. In the ER, (after waiting 6 hours), it was decided the patient needed a CT scan but the PA said that he can “probably” get the contrast through iv, she left and no one came back for over an hour. I ended up going out to the desk at one point and asked if he was going to get it through IV or what the plan was and she said yes IV, but the imaging is really backed up. Less than 5 minutes later transport shows up and asks why he hasn’t received any contrast yet so now transport stood there and waited another 10 minutes. The patient ended up getting admitted at around 10, we’ve been there since 2 and then they let us know he is now NPO at midnight, so he didn’t get to east anything all day. They said his procedure would hopefully be around 8 AM the next morning, he was admitted with very little history questions asked. The next morning at 6:30 they come in to test him and they finally ask about medical history. At 11 o’clock, I asked what was happening with the procedure and the nurse (who we saw a total of 3 times over the 12 hours she was responsible for him, 2 of the 3 times we had to call for her). Rudely said because the patient didn’t disclose anything before so now it’s pushed because of him. (The surgeon later told us it was because they had 3 emergencies push in this morning). If the nurse said anything we weren’t sure of and asked for clarification she would say “As I just said” and repeat herself, which was so rude. It took her over 2 hours to discharge us because she didn’t “want to go through admitting another patient” before 7 PM. The wait times were horrible but the nurse was the real problem of why I would never return.

I did not have a good experience in this hospital I explained everything that went wrong. I went for my vitals and sat in the emergency room didn’t get treated for what I was there for . The only good thing is I went for one thing and they found an another issues with me but still no bed side manners, everything was done backwards. It’s no wonder you guys got bad reviews and a low rating . Maybe I should call consumer service, but next time I’ll go to a different hospital like White plains Hospital cause I was very very disappointed !

1 star is being too kind. This hospital is the embodiment of why the American healthcare system is an abomination. I took my mother to the Emergency Room on the morning of Sunday 5/21/23 with a sharp pain in her back, with suspicions of a kidney stone. We arrived at 10:30 AM and it took them 2 hours to pick up the urine sample and another 3 hours to get a CT scan done. My mother received zero treatment after the CT scan was done. The hospitalist and nurse talked about admitting her and waiting for a room upstairs. At 8:30 PM, we decided we had enough and walked out (which is common thing from what I read in the reviews). The hospitalist had the nerve to call my mother's primary care physician to say that we walked out of the Emergency Room. He should focus more practicing medicine, since he has a lot of work to do there, instead of being a snitch.

Let’s talk about this terrible hospital ! I went to this hospital on 3/10/2022 because my 2 year old son had a high fever, ear tugging, vomiting and constantly putting his hand in his mouth ( we suspected he had molars coming in.) I took him to the hospital because he had a fever of 104. We were asked several times regarding interest in the Covid vaccine which we decline. The front desk receptionist had attitude as if they didn’t want to do there job, constantly on there personal phone and have personal side conversations with colleagues.Once we are seen by a nurse and doctor it only got worse. They wanted to swab my son for Covid which we decline and after we decline we were made to feel uncomfortable- we heard doctor and nurses gossiping about declining the Covid vaccine as if I couldn’t hear them. And the icing on the cake which I’m actually going to speak to an attorney about - i left the hospital with my child without getting discharged because how uncomfortable I was made -the doctor has the nerve to call my phone and imply because I took my son abruptly without getting discharge she can involved CPS - basically threatening me. As soon as I told her I am a licensed social worker she changed her tune and said “ well as long as you take him to the pediatrician I won’t involve cps “ disgusting. I left because of the poor and disrespectful service. Never coming here again . And will be seeking legal advice regarding this matter

Please do not waste your time going to NYP Lawrence. They are degrading the NYP name. ER STAFF simply sucks, I was brought in by an ambulance with what felt like excruciating labor pain and I left after waiting 3 hours AND NOT BEING SEEN BY NEARLY ANYONE (one person came and gave me a gown and I was visited by a very friendly housekeeping lady BUT NEVER A DOCTOR OR RN). My blood pressure was through the roof (190s over 100) upon arrival and no one came back to recheck. Also the NYP STAFF never checked MY VITALS initially, the EMT staff did when they dropped me off and that was it. As a healthcare professional I must say their service and quality IS STRAIGHT BASURA. The charge nurse Carolyn lacked any type of empathy and had my diagnosis COMPLETELY WRONG, which makes me believe that their incorrect symptom assessment is what made me wait even longer. One person said patients were seen based off of acuity and another said patients were seen based on the order of when they arrive. As a healthcare professional WE ALL KNOW ACUITY SUPERSEDES ARRIVAL TIME (I just sat there and listened to one person tell nonsense after the next UNTIL I LEFT AND WENT TO WP HOSPITAL after not being seen after 3 hours)! Just throw the entire hospital and staff away, they’re pathetic.

Hi… I am here to express my sincere thanks for the Team at NYP Lawrence. I was amazed to see how a hospital setting could be as a 5 star Hotel. Everyone in the team at every department was super nice and accommodating. Starting at arrival with the Valet Parking personal, Going in to the Security personal, Admission, Nurses, Doctors, Technicians, Nurse Practitioners… Every one did an obsolete fantastic job to ensure that the Atmosphere and the environment was nothing but Warm and welcome. When I am write “everyone” I mean “Everyone”… what a great staff they have. The professionalism, courtesy and respect, deserve a standing ovation and a round of applause! they are a Role Model in Patient / hospital care. The facility and the room were perfectly clean as well. One more comment… when discharged, the cashier was asking me if I was overnight with a child. She said: Here is brake for the Parking. You will only pay an Employee Fee of $10.00 instead of $30.00 Thank you all, and may the almighty bless all of you with continued success; Personally and Professionally. We stayed in Room 636, admitted on 10/25/2022 - discharged on 10/26/2022 The Goldman's

My experience with the hospital deserves more than 5 stars, my wife gave birth on November 3rd , and I cant complain about anything, the staff was always a step ahead, they will offer you the service before you even ask , don't be tricked by the low reviews rating on Google . I will 100% recommend it . Also a special thanks to RN (MILDA) at the labor and delivery department she gave us great care that made it very easy for us ,will never forget her help and will always talk about her 🙏.

Staff walk around like they have no direction (but are very nice) Doctors are rude and seem like the ill are bothersome, the wait times are horrible even if only 1 person in emergency room. My family member was run over by a car and he was given tylenol and we waited on x-rays for hours. This place is where you now come to sit and die because you will not be helped in a caring manner here. No excuse from the higher-up's as this is not acceptable and it is a liability on you if the lack of care turns into a casuality. This place was much nicer and cleaner when it was just lawrence hospital. Take heed to the negative reviews as you have been warned.

Took my son in to get checked for an allergic reaction. We were seen in a timely manner and the doctors were beyond awesome giving care to my son. As a parent they spent time thoroughly explaining to me what happened and what to do in the future. The best ER experience I’ve had. We were out in a little over 2 hours.

My mother was admitted to the emergency room, attended to, and subsequently admitted to the 4th floor for additional care. She came out more alert, vibrant and healthier than she went in -- A difficult feat to accomplish considering my mother has dementia and is very resistant to being tested and taking medication. Thank you to the ER and 4th Floor physicians and the entire staff from intake to discharge.

Before it was NYP, this hospital was awesome! I remember being seen at the ER for asthma and being treated right away. The in-hospital stays were the best, with customized meals and all! Now, you need to arrive 1/2 an hour early just to wait to be registered for an already existing appointment instead of allowing the individual departments to sign you in. The registrar staff ask you what you’re there for in front of everyone (HIPAA? What HIPAA?) and they take forever to call you.

I was brought to this emergency room by EMS. When I arrived the EMTs were yelled at by two nurses for not calling ahead. I get that they didn't follow protocol but I as a patient shouldn't have been in the middle of it. It definitely was THE worst experience that I've ever had in an emergency room. I'll avoid this hospital in the future.

The staff in the ER are heroes. They are caring and attentive and SO patient in the midst of a major overhaul and steady stream of patients. I was there for a very long time waiting but compared to all else that’s going on around us-they tried to do all they could to help ease my mind and explain my concerns. I’m grateful for everyone that works there!

5 Stars to the Security and general staff, they are friendly and helpful. 5 stars for the Nurses and all of their assistants, they are friendly, helpful and show compassion to the patients (Super important in healthcare). 5 Stars to the people bringing the food to the room, they are friendly and helpful. Sorry 4 Stars for the food, it is better than other hospitals but still Hospital food. 3 Stars to management, long wait times in ER and OR. Sorry to say 1 Star for parking, in this time of infections I don't want Valle parking. I would rather park my own car, the parking employees are very nice it's the fact that I don't want others in my vehicle. The only really negative experience was with some of the ER staff but they are so overwhelmed it was hard not to see why. The compassion of your staff and the doctors we trust is what keeps us coming back. I really wish the doctors would use New York-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Medical Center more often, the staff is awesome up there too. It's so much more convenient and no Valle parking.

This hospital is far and away the best hospital experience my husband and I have ever had. We have been there twice over the years for cancer surgery. An amazing amazing nursing staff . They are so caring and right on top of everything. Ready to help in any way necessary. Very impressive.

Yesterday July7,2023 my husband had an angiogram in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory . Our experience was nothing short of excellent.WE were both very apprehensive about this procedure . My first phone call last week I spoke to Mary, one of the nurses , she answered ALL my questions and reassured me everything was going to be all right and understood all my concerns. I requested if possible to give my husband the first appointment on July 7,2023 and sure enough he got it! We each got a phone call the day before giving the time we were to arrive from Dana also so professional and patient .She also explained my husbands pre-op procedure he had to follow. We arrived at 8:00am check in was easy and a pleasant nurse came down from the Catheterization Lab to bring us up to the Third Floor Lab where the procedure was to be done. We were then greeted by Andre , an unusually kind and caring nurse who was my husbands nurse prior to the procedure . Also met with our cardiologist Dr Paley(I recommend him to everyone)There were other nurses, Andrea and a nurse practitioner who were very professional and took excellent care of my husband as well.. Dr Kumar Kalapatapu(a very gentle caring doctor) introduced himself prior to the procedure he was going to perform and put us both at ease. I was told I would get a phone call from the doctor as soon as the procedure was complete and I did. I. was able to sit with my husband as he recovered as promised. From the first phone call to the time we left the hospital we were very confident and amazed with the excellent quality of care and the ENTIRE Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory . Thank You Marion and Ray

Can I not even give them a star? The service at this hospital is so bad. I went in Friday was hurried out straight from ICU on Saturday was told I will have follow up care for PT and all that nobody called. Three days later I’m calling everyone is so rude. Finally got someone in ICU who said I needed to come back ASAP I went back to be told he had no reason to tell me come back. I ask the nurse to please don’t stick me in the same spot as previous because my hands are blue and bruised she goes it’s just a headache you have. Oh really? So since it’s just a headache why waste everyone’s time in the ER?? These nurses act like we are bothering them. Natalya in the ER was demanding I sign a AMA and I did not because they called me to return to then just say it’s a headache…why would the ICU department call me to come back in if it’s just a headache. This hospital need to have their nurses trained. They are unprofessional and does not care. They are all there to past time and get paid. Forget also if you’re not the right color. This hospital is also racist I stood there and saw them bend backwards for a patient who was the right color.

First time here yesterday for a surgery with Dr Sconzo. My anxiety level was at 100. Everyone from the front desk and security to the Dr and staff were professionals and caring. I would definitely recommend this hospital. There is valet parking as well. Clean and organized. Thank you for taking care of me.

What can I say... everyone was awesome in my opinion. From signing in at the front desk to security clearance, to registration, then to the friendly faces and immaculate care. The RN nurses on the 2nd floor I am forever grateful. Dr. Rackow thank you. My only complaint is I wish going into the hospital it didn't feel like death. The lighting was too dim a little creepy just my opinion.

I was in the NYP Westchester Hospital (formerly called Lawrence Hospital) cardiac cath lab yesterday to undergo an angiogram which turned into an angioplasty and cardiac stenting. I had read a number of reviews about the hospital prior to coming in which were extremely negative, and based on that I was feeling a bit apprehensive about coming here. I did know the cardiologist who would be working on me from past catheterizations done at the Manhattan campus, and I trusted him. But I am always weary about being treated by any providers or hospitals with uncoordinated staff, that communicate poorly, or that have poor attitudes about their jobs. It turns out that my concerns were completely unwarranted. This unit was incredible!!! Unfortunately I’ve had to have a lot of medical interventions over the years l, so I can say with confidence that my experience at the cath lab at this hospital was among the most thorough and caring I’ve ever experienced. The coordination and professionalism shown by the nurses,PA’s and physicians at Lawrence was outstanding and of the highest standard I’ve ever encountered in my life. I’m extremely grateful and indebted to all of them.

Main entrance staff are rude and unprofessional. The 2nd floor front desk staff are wonderful caring and truly caring as well as the nurses in that floor. The ICU care unit cannot get their act together on the discharge policies.

The Doctors and nurses in Labor and delivery were phenomenal. Many of the staff through out the hospital were amazing. From the security, to food service, to house keeping and the nurses, staff and doctors on the maternity ward after delivery. However, I feel that their could be more compassion from Ms. Annie, a nurse on the maternity recovery ward. I often felt like Ms. Annie was reluctant to give me my middle pain medication, the oxytocin. And I was in alot of pain. She often tried discourage me from having it and it made me wonder if she might have been wanting to keep it for herself. Also at discharge Annie was very impatient with me. At her "Advice" I skipped my middle oxytocin dose that morning of the 5th. And while I was filling paperwork for my daughter I began to experience a new pain down my left leg. I moved my leg around and walked around but the pain did not go away. I decided to alert Ms. Annie in the event the pain is indicative of something more serious. MS. Annie's response to me was "You don't want to do home?!" As if to say how dare I bring up a concern as we are processing paper work for discharge. I told Ms. Annie yes, I want to go home, but I also want to check to see if then pain is something that should be looked into before I go. Ms. Annie said she will get the doctor. Instead I heard her talking to someone outside of my room #650 That I am "Now Complaining about my leg." Soon after a nice nurse I met in labor and delivery comes to speak with me. I expressed to her my concerns and how upset I am that Ms. Annie is making me to feel like I am a burden to ask about it. She advises me not to concern myself with Ms. ANNIE and asks a series of questions about the pain. She says it sounds like sciatica and that it is nothing to be terribly concerned about. Ms. Annie enters the room and joins the conversation adding that sciatica is easy to get to be careful with my movements etc. I trusted the nurses advice. But I should not have been made to feel like I should not ask questions about new pains that I suddenly experience. Also, the young man Sean who pushed me and my infant daughter in a wheel chair from the 6th floor to the 1st floor and outside was on his cell phone the entire time. He held the cell phone between his head and his shoulder which compromised his ability to smoothly control the wheel chair. I felt like I was being pushed way too fast with my infant child and at one point felt that he was going to push us into the security check point desk to the left when exiting. I wasn't sure if to hold the chair with one hand or my child with both during the trip it was so unsteady and fast. Sean did not end his conversation, but asked me if here is where I will be picked up and left us there while he completed his conversation. I have a picture of Sean on the phone. I feel this was unprofessional and an unkind way to treat a person who is recovery from a surgery. Despite all the great things that the staff does at this great hospital the few poor experiences can do alot to sully it. Finally, the phone systems and some personal who man them seem very disinterested in answering the phones or interacting with clients. I had a bad experience trying to get through to patient services and the medical records department. The patient services line picked up and was silent at 9:05am. Then I dialed again I got a young lady whose voice was very soft. When I let her know that I was not able to hear her the line went silent and then to a recording. When I did get through to medical records the young man Fred transferred me to 311 with out notice. I was not able to get assistance via phone and had to come in to get the help I needed on the 6th. The young lady in medical records and security were so helpful. I was successful in my mission on the 6th in person. If I had to deliver again I would still trust the doctors and nurses at this hospital. I wont let 1 or 2 people spoil it for me. My family and I are safe, well and happy. Thank you.

My experience at the Lawrence Hospital anf specifically on the labor and delivery floors was pretty positive. The nurses really care. I had some complications after the birth of my son but I felt I was in good hands. The only reason I am taking off a star is bc there didn't seem to be seamless handoff between shifts so I did find myself explaining certain things over and over again to nurses who weren't my primary. It would be great if there was a way for nurses to communicate better across patients to minimize confusion but in the end the nurses were caring and well trained and that is really all that matters to me.

My initial visit to New York Presbyterian Hospital was prompted by an excruciating pain in one leg. Despite the bustling environment of the emergency room, the staff exhibited a commendable level of compassion and efficiency, ensuring that I was attended to promptly. Prior to my visit here, I had faced a series of misdiagnoses which only served to exacerbate my condition. However, under the expert care of Dr. Shembekar, I finally received the correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment. What was truly commendable was the meticulousness with which Dr. Shembekar approached my case, ensuring that he covered all bases by taking additional precautions in case my condition was indicative of something else. My experience at this hospital is one that I cannot overemphasize in terms of the excellent care I received. In the event that I require medical assistance in the future, my first choice will be New York Presbyterian Hospital.

From the emergency room to being admitted to being released, bravo to staff, techs and anyone in between.. I felt the compassion for my situation. (Heart attack). The nurses especially Elizabeth, Laurie, Althea and Franklin explained any questions I had . When I fully recover, I'm actually thinking of volunteering here. Many thanks to all .

In the the last fourteen years, I've been unfortunate enough to visit family members in various hospitals such as Mt. Sinai, Long Island Jewish, White Plains Hospital, and NYP Westchester Hospital, which used to be Lawrence hospital. I've seen many of their emergency rooms, and the hospitals themselves. I've also had a few members have hospital stays for a week or more. First of all, there's a difference between the emergency room and the whole hospital. The quality of service there depends largely on the amount of people working a shift and the number of emergencies. Years ago, this hospital's emergency room was usually fairly quick, but my recent Monday night visit lasted from 9 pm to 4 am. The care was adequate, but very slow. I hesitate to blame the staff that's actually working there, or in any hospital. Like I said, it depends on how many people are working, and how many people have emergencies. I suppose that some blame can be placed on administration because they decide how large a staff they're going to have on any given night, and that costs money. Still, I understand how people get furious when they feel like they're not getting care fast enough. As for the interior of the hospital, it was pretty good. Not the most modern of interiors, but it was kept clean, and the staff was prompt, communicative, and competent. They are people, so you're going to like some, and not others, and sometimes, they might just be having a bad day, but I wouldn't say that any of them were unprofessional or incompetent. Based on other people's reviews, the weakest element of this hospital seems to be the amount of staffing (not the quality) of the emergency room. If they want five stars, they have to put some money into maintaining the staff necessary to accommodate a busy night.

I had a great experience in the ER and the nurses and doctors there (especially Kathy, Jean and Moses) were amazing and took great care of me. Once I was admitted my nurse Nazar was also wonderful. Best care I've received in a hospital so far! A big thank you to everyone there.

I came in with very high expectations of the staff & service and was disappointed on every level. I was just admitted for days to the ER for days fully expecting to be transferred to a room. However, I was kept on an isolated cot in the ER the whole time. My medications were delayed or completely wrong. Not to mention, the staff were unfriendly and completely difficult to get ahold us. I will now need to attend a separate hospital for my recovery because NY PRESBYTERIAN WESTCHESTER was so disappointing and ineffective. DO NOT GO FOR HELP!!
