Unsanitary food packaging practice for " pick up orders". Dec.23/2021 Check# 240070 @ 12:12 pm Extremely disappointed with the food quality and lack of sanitary packaging practices standards given to pick up orders. Hamburgers' meat showed medium rare cooked areas. (see picture enclosed) The current lack of sanitary packaging practice for pick up orders to preserve healthy food temperature standards as well as unnecessary food exposure to bacteria and air contamination needs to be addressed immediately. (see pic enclosed) Unsealed brown paper bag used to pack food for pick orders are "left on a shelf with no supervision on behalf of the restaurant staff" this common practice makes it easy for "any person" visiting the restaurant to have direct access to other people's food. A more thoughtful handling standards should be implemented especially during the world wide continue fight against prevention of covid-19 related infections. (see pic enclosed) It will be great for the company to consider better options to immediately address these neglectful food handling practices. Ended up discarding the complete after a couple of bites. (See pictures enclosed)

The service wasn’t great. First, I tried to order a beer on their kiosk…an employee is supposed to come over and check your ID. I waited forever and gave up on the beer. Then, my food was delivered to the wrong table.

The food took 30 minutes to be served, but they are always busy and the employees are doing their best. The guy taking orders was not trying to inform of the menu or any option of sauce available or sides etc. needed some help since it was my first time and i didnt want to hold up the line. I wanted to order more stuff but i just rushed and moved on. There was a lady who was constantly cleaning the restaurant and the patio who was very friendly and hard working which made it easy to find a table to sit down asap.

I always stop in to eat at Shake Shack before going to the movies. I honestly feel I get more for my dollar. The restaurant was a bit disorganized, I didn't know if it was a kiosk or serving at the counter. I couldn't find a number to use for my table. The employees must have been short staff. They didn't seem happy. Nonetheless, they were efficient in getting your food directly to your table. If you're going to go, try to get there before it gets busy.

Order on Tablet at night. The burger is tiny but very delicious. A little on the pricy side but very tasteful. Would eat here again. This area is safe. Washrooms are clean. Lots of people here at night. I would highly recommend this place if you’re in the area. Walkable distance from World Trade Center Hotels.

We have Shake Shack in the UK but never tried it, this was nearby so thought why not. It was very busy for a Wednesday lunch time, after placing my order I waited around 20-30m for the food to be ready. The food itself was tasty, fresh and good ingredients, chips were crunchy and fluffy. I don’t have the UK comparison but the total came up to ~$23 (£20) which to me is crazy for a takeout lunch!

I’ve been to a couple shake shacks, and this one is probably my favourite bc the employees were just so nice and funny. Of course, the food is always great, so no complaints there, but the service was the real differentiator. Always always order the cheese fries. And the double’s always worth it!

In love with shake shack’s burgers. I’ve tried a lot of different burger restaurants but Shack Shack still have its charm. Ingredients are fresh, meat is full of flavor and the bun is soft and delicious. Definitely recommend.

Although Shake Shack is a burger chain, they offer tasty burgers and fries. Better than your average McDonalds or Burger King burger!!

I very much like the dishes and customer service, fantastic area right next to where I live. The workers are always nice. Will come visit again.

The Shack burger is constantly one of the best smash style burgers one can buy, pretty iconic throughout the city, this location tends to get busy for lunch but all other times are fairly quick. One of my personal favorites and the standard I hold other smash style burger places to. If you stick to the usual menu of shack burger, cheese fries and something like a milkshake you won’t be disappointed. Burgers are always juicy, sauce is right, everything is perfect. It’s the optimal burger delivery. The shack has a few competitors like (In-and-out burgers in Cali) and other boutique burger places, but for a chain this is top notch. If you are on the fence and have never tried shake shack, please do yourself a favor and treat yourself to one.

My Shroom Burger was yummy, but the Milkshake had so much sugar in it-they served it without a straw, and when I asked one of the stuff, he said he's on his break 🙃. Tables weren't clean and sticky too.

Picking up from this location is routinely horrendous. Ordering ahead means your food will sit and stare at you while the workers ignore the mob of people at the pickup area. Whoever manages this location needs to have one person solely expediting orders, at least during peak times.

Stopped by for dinner while in NYC. Overall, I thought the food was excellent. Great burgers and good shakes. I do like 5 guys better for both burgers and shakes because they allow better customization (more toppings). Also, our order was incorrect. They didn't add bacon to the smokehouse shack burger, and one of the shakes did not come with malt added, although we paid for it.

I went to this location for a quick bite. Orders came out fast but the burgers were terrible and were not shake shack quality. I had a chicken burger that looked like it had been sitting out all day, with the lettuce that's black and the burger bun hard on the bottom. I won't be coming back to this location again

I came here for years, always before or after a movie. While Shake Shack has scaled in locations, gotten rid of hospitality, there’s no excuse for such low quality on a Saturday night. A lousy burger with the tiniest piece of tomato and lettuce? Is Shake Shack becoming the commercialized and industrialized McDonald’s? As a NYer, the price isn’t justified at all when 7th Street is much cheaper and I know what I’m getting there. Would have been happier going to PJ Clarke’s nearby even if it cost the same as two burgers and fries at SS just to have a decently made burger. Such a bummer, as this location is full of memories for me and my friends.

I really like this fast-food chain, I would definitely prefer it over McDonald’s or Burger King. Their fries tastes good (there’s also an option with cheese but I like the original one), Cheeseburger with a lot of veggies inside and juicy patty, the shakes are also amazing but too sweet for my taste. In this location they have outside sitting options.

The cleanest store I have ever visited. The manager is hardworking and very friendly (thin girl with tattoo). You place the order via tablet - excellent for those who are unsure about what to choose - Despite being busy, the order was ready very quickly.

I used to enjoy Shake Shack and their GF bun option, but my recent visit was disappointing. The bun was incredibly dry, almost inedible, and the French fries lacked freshness and taste. Additionally, the lettuce I requested was small, not fresh, and had dark spots resembling dog spots. Overall, this experience has made me reconsider returning."

Terribly slow wait at the height of lunch hour. Why not have more than one register at a time in height of lunch and in a tranportation hub (fulton). Super unnecessary long line, horribly unorganized. I'll assuredly go somewhere else for lunch in the future!!! Way too young crew. Has time to recite rhythms and nursery rhymes in the back in lieu of getting people's orders done

I love shake shack, it’s been one of my tops, i know the food is really good but service is not too good and found a hair in my food, i totally lost my appetite. They gotta be more careful nobody wants a hair in their food.

Horrible. The line took 15 minutes, I paid $5 for 6 chicken nuggets and had to wait another 15 minutes for that. The chicken was burning hot, the breading was falling off, and I did not even get a napkin. Do not recommend!

I ordered a double Shack burger. The meat was thick and delicious. If I eat hamburgers from this restaurant, I don't feel like eating hamburgers from other restaurants.

Loved the chicken sandwich (honey one) and burger as well. The Nuggets were oily but it might be how it is at shack

It's Halloween weekend here in downtown NY so it's busy. The food was hot and tasty. The cashier was friendly and welcoming and there was a worker cleaning tables in and outside the restaurant. Overall quick and easy.

The burgers are delicious! The fries are run-of-the-mill bagged frozen fries, but still pretty good. The milkshakes are good but too small for the price. Overall, a good burger place if you are low on options nearby.

Great service and friendly efficient cashier. Custard as yum as always. It’s nice to return after 2 years! Glad y’all made it through ❤️ Thanks for a lovely store and wonderful experience. Have a great summer ☀️

Sorry, no photo this time because I ate the food. I highly recommend the chicken bites. It's a huge step up from the chicken nuggets from any fast food restaurant chain. Chocolate Pie shake is good but, it feels like an average chocolate ice cream shake with palmier puffy pastry pieces on top and at the bottom.

Do NOT eat here. The service is horrendous and they are SERIOUSLY unsanitary. My daughter and I stopped by to get a root beer float. We were met by three cashiers who were trying to work out an issue with a register and told us to wait. Clearly, one of them could have slided over to the second register to help us, but that seemed like too much for them and we waited for 5 minutes. Once they took the order, it was another 5-minute wait for them to make the drink. Then the lady who made the root beer float seemed puzzled because the foam kept overflowing. She let it sit for several more minutes, but it kept overflowing. So she decided to wipe the foam off the top of the cup with her HAND. She kept wiping and wiping until it stopped overflowing. Now, you would know if you ever visited Shack that employees obviously wear gloves. But if you observe carefully, the same employees handle food, cashier (meaning grabbing cash & credit cards), and sometimes cleaning leftover food/garbage while keeping the same gloves on. In any case, to wipe off an overflowing drink with one's hand is truly disgusting and unsanitary - especially in these post pandemic days. Then she took off and we are thinking she'll make us a new one. Wrong. The drink sits there for five more minutes, and a different employee calls out our name to give us the drink. At that point, we've had enough and told them we wanted a refund explaining what we just observed. No apologies. No offer to make a new one. They just processed the refund and we were sent off. That was our 15 minutes at Shack. This is our neighborhood location and used to be one of the best Shacks in the City. Now (post-pandemic), it always feels dirty and chaotic with employees either overwhelmed or plain indifferent. I understand this is a problem that is not unique to Shake due to the ongoing labor shortage. But long gone are days where you could tell this was a place that was founded by Danny Meyer. Nowadays, it really feels like a cheap, low-quality burger joint that is way overpriced.
