Lovely hotel and great experience! I love the overall look and style of the place. Rooms are very much on the small side, but you have most things you need but to note, no kettle/ fridge in room, no bath either. I do feel as though the hotel is overpriced. For the price per night, I would expect a hands-on service. At Sister, there is very little to no service. Check-in is self serve, rooms don't have a phone and there's no room service. The location is great, East Village is a very cute area and has loads around. I'm glad I've stayed here, but don't feel as though it's worth the money!

Stayed for 3 nights on what we thought a good deal. However, upon leaving we got lumped with a $30 per night “resort tax” that was well hidden both upon booking and check out (we are still awaiting an explanation of what this is from management, but had no call). Room was tiny and wasn’t cleaned well between nights (litter and dirty cups remained each day). Bed was tiny and had rubber or plastic undersheets which made for an uncomfortable sleep. Good rooftop bar with fantastic views though, a hidden gem. Finally the hotel is right next door to a homeless shelter which made for an uncomfortable walk to and from the entrance each day. Some fairly eccentric characters loitering right next to the front door all day. As a regular visitor to NYC I can say this is a good location to use as a base, but there are far, far better options available. Very disappointing.

A little oasis in Lower East Side. We booked to stay at Sister City before it had opened, so there was no reviews to go by. But, we are glad we did! The hotel is located in the hip Bowery area close to many art galleries, shops and restaurants, and many Metro stations. The check in was super swift through the touch pads at reception, but staff were on hand to help. The reception is full of plants and comfy chairs. Our room was on 7th floor with the best views of the WTC and Empire State. We had the King room - it was small, but sufficient and Sister City uses space cleverly. The bed was very comfy with great duvet. Towels were fluffy and I love the detailing on the sink. Shower was good, with nice smelling toiletries. The amount of detail is amazing - branded tissues and hangers. We originally booked to stay 3 nights but ended up staying 4 - Sister City was such a great base for exploring NYC. A bit gutted that the rooftop bar and restaurant weren't ready yet when we stayed (early April) - once complete I'm sure it will be amazing judging by how much detail and care has gone into the rest of the hotel.

This place was beautiful. I didn't know what to expect due to the location of the place but I was blown away we I arrived. All of the furniture is custom made. It's so unique. The staff were very helpful. They could improve on their time management other than that great place. Almost forgot the food was GREAT!!!! There's no room service because they encourage you to leave your room and explore the restaurant within the hotel.

The environment is extremely comfortable. Definitely a mix of casual and professional. Probably leaning more towards casual. A pleasant view with a beautiful atmosphere. Service was well. My reason for the four stars mostly for their price point. Alcohol is still the same drink, higher margins. The food we got was decent, food displayed was well. But there are better atmosphere and food at the same value. Good, yet somehow short of great.

My wife surprised me with a 2 day getaway to NYC for my birthday and we stayed at this incredible establishment. We always stay at the Ace when we go to New York but the price this time for such a quick visit was prohibitive. We were going to spend as much time in the city as possible so we were having a hard time paying a premium price (no matter how worth it). After our 2 nights in sister city I truly doubt I would stay anywhere else. It was absolutely perfect for our needs and the location is so central to so many of my favorite things about the city. The rooms were minimal but so incredibly well thought out and comfortable (atelier ace has the best beds ever). The staff were so incredibly great and the rooftop bar was amazing. I truly can’t say enough about this place.

We really enjoyed our stay (4 nights) at Sister City. Pros: excellent location - only a few minutes walk to multiple subway stations (Bowery, Grand St, 2 Avenue), close to the Soho, Little Italy and Chinatown with their many restaurants, shops and amazing streets. The historical delis Ross & Daughters and Katz's are very close. The hotel is very well-designed with a modern, hip atmosphere. The staff is friendly and the check-in/check-out system is all digital, very smooth. Good value for the price. The cocktail bar on the 11th floor is an experience on its own with great view to the city skyline. Free water refill station is available so you don't have to buy bottles of water all the time - thumbs up for being environmentally conscious. Cons: It is NYC, so expect small rooms. I still think it is good value for the price we paid, but in our room we had bunk-beds and climbing the ladder to the upper level I bruised my back a little bit because it was so close to the wall. The fire alarm was directly across the bed and it blinked all night - if possible, it would be great if it was moved to the living room. A tiny sink was outside of the bathroom, in the living room, it was quite difficult to use, and it was odd that you sort of cannot wash your hands immediately in the bathroom. The TV was in the living room and although there were some seats to watch it from, but there were no cushions, so it was not too comfy.

The people who work at Broome care about their visitors. They hotel is a great, and it's a true retreat from the noise of NYC while staying in the heart of SOHO.

We spent a week in the hotel and absolutely loved it! Location is perfect, our room was small but comfortable and it had everything we needed. The rooftop bar has amazing views, though the cocktails were a bit disappointing -we also had drinks in the bar downstairs and they were amazing. All the members of the staff we talked to were really friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautifully decorated, nothing fancy but very tasteful. We loved that there were a lot of plants everywhere, it was like walking into a little oasis in the middle of Bowery. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the hotel and it will definitely be our first choice whenever we go back to NY.

Wonderful location, love the spartan style and concept of the hotel. Clean. Lower bunk bed felt claustrophobic with 2 people though, and it was hard to have a good night's sleep. Watching TV on the wooden bench was uncomfortable. Wood is fine, but the ergonomics didn't work. At breakfast the croissants were expensive, mushy and seemed from the day before. Staff was friendly but seemed overwhelmed at times. Overall the hotel is a little too expensive, for what it offers now

Loved how airy and beautiful the hotel lobby, restaurant, courtyards, rooftop bar and corner room are. Thoughtful design everywhere. Being a newly renovated property, it was nice that everything looked fresh, clean and pristine. Got a corner room, it faced Bowery and was a large and accessable room. It felt bigger than others since it can accommodate a wheelchair. The bathroom was far from the bed and had a real closing (not sliding) door - which I loved! Not a fan of small NYC hotel rooms where the toilet is right next to the bed, so I was happy to see a bit of space here. I liked both of the entrance/exit options - Bowery and Freeman Alley. Security personnel at the gates were kind and professional, always offered a greeting and a smile. Delicious oatmilk lattes, and a mini convenience shop at the check-in area were nice surprises. Location is perfect for exploring downtown. Would definitely stay here again!

My partner and I stayed one night at Sister City, a day after the opening of the hotel (we had booked the room back in September). Their restaurant is not finished yet so, unfortunately, it was closed, but the management was apologetic and accommodating. They provided us with a continental breakfast which was delicious, and we were able to check out a little later. The decor of the hotel is spectacular (very minimalistic: lots of wood, green plants, and white walls). The atmosphere is so peaceful…a real gem in the midst of New York City’s madness! Everything in the hotel is high-tech (check-in and check-out are done with an app, same for guests’ requests/questions) which is easy to use. The staff is very friendly and efficient (we needed help with a few things when we got to our room and were attended immediately). The hotel manager, Rob was very helpful throughout the booking process. Once the restaurant and their rooftop open, we will most likely book a room again!

Very stylish venue, thoughtfully designed. Like the grown-up designer version of a Pod hotel. Floret has excellent food. The bacon is amazing and Michelle provided warm and friendly service. Roof bar is gorgeous. Self check-in is a great idea but needs some user experience bugs ironed out. And while there isn't a front desk, there effectively is around the self-check-in area, but the poor staff have to stand up. I would suggest a funky little front desk would be a good idea, and perhaps allow self-check from cell phones and the door key could be NFC... The rooms are very pleasing with purpose-designed carpentry, very much along Corbusier's "a machine for living in" concept. Beds are super-comfy. However. I would add more places to store clothes, bags for dirty laundry, shelves in the showers and move the wash basin into the bathroom. Location is in the heart of cafes, bars, boutiques and general Lower East side charming chaos. Also just noticed someone's narrow-minded comment about the Mission being right next door. This was never a problem at all, just part of the local fabric. Embrace.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sister City. The rooms, though on the smaller side, were beautifully put together. Simple but impactful amenities were added to my room such as providing a re-fillable glass water jug set up bedside (water stations are provided in the hallways), to each room having a portable Bluetooth wireless speaker, to having the capability to actually open the window to let air in. All of these amenities really made it feel like a different type of hotel experience - one that helps you to slow down and relax in the bustling city. Everything was also thoughtfully put together to really showcase the simple, yet beautiful design - such as having the TV tucked away behind a fold up desk to keep it out of sight, to the quality of the light (no bright white fluorescents), to using every square inch smartly (bed support becomes bench becomes storage shelving). The property itself was also quite interesting, with two entrances, one off the Bowery and one at the back. The rooftop bar was very pleasant, especially at early happy hour before it started to get crowded. I would happily recommend this hotel to contemporary design-minded travelers looking for something a little different.
