Coffee is good, I love it. Very poor quality customer service. I buy 5 Lb each week from this place and never a thank you or a smile. Today, I started looking for an other place to buy from because of that clerk behavior and the way I was treated there for 3 months being a client buying 5 LB a week.

Coffee is decent, nothing amazing. Couple of suggestions, please make sure the coffee is hot and a service with friendliness goes a long way.

Amazing place! Friendly staff. Delicious coffee! Better than Starbucks or any other coffee shop. They should charge more for such great coffee.

Great fresh roasted coffee done on premises. When I'm out near Queens Blvd I'll stop in and buy a couple pounds of French roast Colombian beans. Wish they were closer to my house. They do grind lt up if you need. They have been in business for close to 60 years if not more.

I bought this tiny espresso cup at Baruirs in 2000! God bless Baruirs!

When I lived in the neighborhood in the 80s this was my go to spot for great fresh roasted coffee beans. The French roast and mocha java, the signature roasts, are good but nothing to go out of your way for today. My biggest issue with the place now, is I had to deal with an agitated borderline psychotic sales clerk, who must be seeing too many sketchy people come in with masks these days. As I innocently touched the plexiglass divider to scan the coffees now against the wall, the salesperson started to get dysregulated to the point that I thought he was going to assault me. Needless to say, when I paid for the order, there was no thank you. What else is there to say? Won't be going to Sunnyside anytime soon to pick up my coffee.

We found this place walking around the neighborhood. It’s unassuming, simple and an institution for the area. Last time we grabbed small bags of their organic roasts for home. We like doing pour overs and espresso. My partner specifically liked the Guatemalan bean for its blueberry notes. Pricing is average or medium low in consideration of the industry. Yes, you can’t really tell when the beans were roasted as they’re not on the bag, but we had no issues or concerns. It’s from an older more classic time where specialty coffee wasn’t a thing. We’ll always pick up a bag or 2 for ourselves on the way back out of nyc.

Their French Roast Colombian is my preferred one. It’s one of the best I’ve ever tried.

Delicious freshly roasted coffee is so much better! They have a great selection to choose from. Beyond that, they have lots of other delicious goodies. I had only ever heard of Turkish Delights in The Chronicles of Narnia. It was exciting to find them and get to try them for real. P.S. Turkish Delights are delicious. I definitely recommend them if you have a sweet tooth. 😉

It's awesome that places like this can still be found out here. Aside from those fancy, pretentious cafes, this place shines as a classic, old school neighborhood coffee roaster. They roast their beans on site in the open. I spoke to the owner. You can tell he is proud of his establishment and takes pride in what they do. I got their classic blend as it has the notes I like best. Always fresh and just roasted! Never had an issue with the workers here. They're always polite whenever I go in. Prices very reasonable and great quality coffee. You can get brewed coffee here, small treats and other little items for purchase. But I usually just concentrate on getting my coffee bean supply for at home espresso. I believe they've been in business for over 50 years! I hope this place keeps on going for another 50 as places like this are very hard to find these days!

Always delicious and fresh roasted, best beans around the area.

Coffee beans are fresher, better, and less expensive than the ones from Starbucks or other big chains. I get the French Roast for my sister who uses a French press, but I personally love the Medium Strong house blend for my automatic drip coffee maker. Also, they sell really tasty pine nuts, if you like to make pesto.

good coffee, kind people, cute cat. i tried a pastry and walnut candy (like Turkish Delight but made in house), both fresh and tasty. small but good selection of dried fruits, nuts, teas, cheese, and more from southeastern and eastern europe.

Staff is unapproachable. They said the coffee was freshly roasted the same day but it's not. Regardless how many times i tweak my espresso machine it wouldn't pull the right shot. Never experienced this before from a other reputable roaster.
