I do oyster education here. Food is good and views and atmosphere can't beat. It's also a great place to stop if you are biking in the area. In addition to food, drink, views, bathrooms there is a fabulous and secure bike rack.

Update: Stopped in Sunday morning to take a rest break while paddling north and there was a beautiful bride and handsome groom, not sure if they had the wedding or just the reception there but a wonderful setting for such a celebration. Ppppphhhhheeeeewwwww! My dog and I arrived at the ship on my paddle board and it was a welcome break from a strong wind that varied constantly out of the S, then the SW, kicking up an awkward cross chop as we headed home from a paddle up to Inwood. It was a good break and gave me time to look over this retired Navy ship with the interesting history. She often gets referred to as the Navy’s smallest aircraft carrier but that’s not entirely accurate. She was used to train helicopter pilots, from multiple branches of the military, in how to land on and take off from a ship at sea.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing brunch at Baylander and it was absolutely fantastic! The location right on the Hudson River is simply breathtaking, offering stunning views that enhance the dining experience. The atmosphere was perfect, with just the right amount of music playing in the background, creating a lively yet relaxing ambiance. The cocktails at Baylander were exceptional. They were expertly crafted and delicious, perfectly complementing the mouthwatering food that was served. Every bite was a delight, with a wide variety of options to choose from and each dish bursting with flavor. The menu catered to different tastes and dietary preferences, ensuring that everyone could find something to enjoy. What made the experience even more enjoyable was the pleasant weather and the cooling breeze from the river. It provided a refreshing escape from the heat, allowing me to fully savor the meal and the beautiful surroundings. One of the things I appreciated about Baylander was that it wasn't overly crowded. I could truly relax and enjoy my brunch without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. It's clear that this hidden gem has yet to be fully discovered, and if it were located downtown, I have no doubt it would be packed. Overall, Baylander is a great spot for brunch. The stunning location, delicious food, great cocktails, and welcoming atmosphere make it a standout choice. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable brunch experience.

I discovered this place accidentally one Friday night. It was a bit crowded to make me feel 100% comfortable, bit it is all outdoors. The food is not that great with small portions, the beer was just cool...not very cold and many of the drinks are premixed. That being said, it's still not a bad place to visit just for the experience.

Great place for cocktails and seafood pub grub. Loved the summer vibes on the water with nice city views. I really enjoyed their smokey cocktail and they have great crinkle cut fries. You can reserve a table ahead of time.

A very fun place to go. Food is just ok, pretty much what you would expect. Service is quick but you need to move everything yourself. Order one place and pick up the food when the bell rings. And make sure you don't get seasick! Lots of fun if you understand all that. They also have a game room for free downstairs.

Great food and views. Call ahead if you want to get the best view at the highest deck. My daughter and I picked a day when there was a private party. Overall still a good experience.

Great place to enjoy the view over a beer, cocktail, or bar food. The fish tacos weren't bad, but the burger was overcooked though.

This place is beautiful, made reservations but there was still seating so you can do a walk in. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The weather was beautiful and it’s in a perfect spot to watch the sun go down. Drink prices was reasonable and food was good mostly finger food. Music was good and your allowed to bring your dogs as long they well behaved. Perfect spot for date night, girls night out or just to sit by the water and have a drink.

Come see the amazing views on the Hudson River. This is an amazing location that I absolutely recommend to anyone here in the city. It is a unique experience to wine and dine on a military vessel. The food is delicious and the drinks are always strong. The bartenders are friendly and quick! I always bring friends here and they love the views and service from the staff. I even did a wedding rehearsal here once. My family and friends loved it. It was scenic and very memorable for everyone.

Great space, Nice concept, food is tasty,,Big ups to my friend Star for hipping me to the place. I had the chicken sandwich, fries.I will have the pretzel next time. The chicken Sandwich was a bit thin for the price tho. I've been to the IX-514 Baylander about 4 times,, so far. The drinks in pitcher form are a bit light. Tell them to add less ice. The drink is called the river rat. I was told the Proprietors were the owners of prohibition in Manhattan. The music selection, is safe; pop standards. I didn't like that fact. The wait after 430 can be about 30 mins to an hour. The 2nd drink i ordered is a bit stronger and will do the job.

The Baylander was on my β€œWant to go” list in maps. Today was the day I visited unexpectedly; as it was on the path I walked. Calamari and blue lemonade were my go-tos. I am satisfied with my decision to come in and be able to get a seat at the top deck. The staff are very pleasant. I will come back again to try other menu items on an empty stomach.

So, the 2 times I've visited this place, I must say I enjoyed both visits. The food is so very tasty, and the staff is very friendly n respectful. The tables were very clean and put back together after the customers were done with their food. The wait time to be seated wasn't long, either. Will return soon. Thanks for a great end of summer!

Considering that it was Mother's Day, as well as Graduation season, it wasn't as crowded as I'd thought it would be (which is great). Besides the more popular sections of the boat (that do require a reservation), the more popular spots being on the upper deck (although it really depends on the wind). I was satisfied with our seating which was close to the bar, on the side, overlooking the Hudson (perfect location). Let's get into the food. We ordered the Chicken sandwich and the Chopped cheese along with the smoking fries. The portion size was perfect. We were able to share and still have some left to go. Now I'm a huge chopped cheese fan, but I also love a "loaded chopped cheese", so if you're expecting Deli chopped cheese, sorry, but you might be a little disappointed. No lettuce, no tomato, no greens or color. But if you love a basic chopped cheese (bread, meat and cheese) this might be your thing. The chicken sandwich was better. I love the colors in the sandwich, the lettuce were fresh, firm. The onions however were not carmelized (I love carmelized onion... These where not cooked at all and were thicker than expected). We loved the Smokin Fries... That season and sauce... *Chef's kiss... Perfection! Drinks. I ordered the Captain's Punch. Not much of a "punch", it was watered down, I could hardly taste the Grand Marnier, spiced rum, or the pomegranate liquor. Disappointing... For $16 and seeing the ingredients, I was expecting to taste something. Their "Dat Patron drink" was much better. We tried it with the passion fruit instead of the watermelon purΓ©e. It was delightful. For the price point it wasn't too bad. I love the fact that you get to keep the bottle. The service was great, the food was ready in no time, we didn't have any trouble with our reservation or finding seating... Early arrival is strongly suggested especially if you want great views on the water. Weather advised... The top decks are a fav spot overlooking everything, however keep in mind that it does get windy on the water.

I’ve lived in the city for so long and have never known about this location! It was a cute little pit stop on my way out of the city. The drinks were really good- but the food was just okay. But for the view and the vibe, it was worth it. I’d definitely come here again for drinks!

Wow this place blew me away! It's on an actual boat and you feel the rocking. That breeze since it's on the water is amazing. You can even bring your dog! I noticed jumbo Jenga in the back tables and there's good music playing. This place is a grab your food then grab a table kinda vibe but the food and drinks are amazing!!! I had the chopped cheese hero and Cajun fries bae had the sliders and fish tacos. It's a nice menu with different things to choose from trust your gonna find something you like! Make your way there asap and trust your gonna wanna go again!

Appetizers, drinks and and awesome views would have given it five stars but the chicken I had wasn't chewable and I really didn't eat anything else on the menu I didn't want to go out to have a burger or salad still enjoyed the music in the atmosphere. The drinks was on point...a great place to have drinks and listen to good music

Absolutely loved it! We enjoyed the baylander burger, chicken sandwich and wings. We also had the smokin' fries (which we all loved with a side of cheese). Overall, the views, music and atmosphere here are great. There's plenty of seating on all sides of the boat and you're bound to find a nice spot to settle down and hang out. For drinks, we had the steel beach margarita (it comes in a little patron bottle and was AMAZING.), the pina colada and the mermaid potion. Hands down the steel beach drink won the evening. Come ready to spend some money, but also ready to have a relaxing, fun time with good food and even better drinks.

Perfect place to enjoy some river views, a cocktail and bar food. The seating is mostly picnic tables and tall metal stools that line the first level. Two second levels have tables, better views but no umbrellas. It can be hot out in the sun but the consistent breeze is great. The food is tasty but a little pricey for slightly elevated bar grub. The staff really kept things running well. It's a fave with dog owners and families.
