Not very large, but lovely space. Only two floors with exhibit items. Looking forward to going back in June when they have a new exhibit. The museum shop is really nice too.

Beautiful space, not too overwhelming, can tour the space in less than two hours while not rushing, went for the Comparative Hells exhibition, very interesting. Friday’s are free and will have a bit more foot traffic.

A little smaller than I expected, but still a comprehensive display of Buddhist and Hindu art from around East and South Asia. There is a lot to see here, and you can see it all in a relatively short amount of time. I highly recommend the gift shop if you are at all interested in instruments or books or fabrics from around the region. There is a lot in that gift shop. If you are already interested in these elaborate, imaginative works of art, there is sure to be something to catch your attention, such as the grotesque yet fascinating works regarding Buddhist and Hindu concepts of hell that were showing while I was there.

I was really excited to visit this museum, but I was disappointed to learn that only one exhibit was open when I visited. Maybe I just came at a bad time, and I didn’t spend more than 15 minutes here. The positive is that it’s free to visit, a short walk from the zoo, and the staff were super friendly.

Asia Society is a UES staple been coming here since I was a young weeb lad. Regular part of the UES museum day rotation - as with every other museum best enjoyed on a weekday morning when no one else is around :) I got a free tour!

Small and condenses museum. We went for the Meiji Modern exhibition. It was fantastic. There happened to be a guide touring and explaining each piece to a group so we heard stories on some pieces as well. Definitely looking forward to future exhibitions.

Great Museum! I absolutely loved the Meiji Restoration exhibition. It jad just enough of artefacts and information so as to be interesting and diverse but not overwhelming. I especially liked the hell courtisan part of the exposition. I really recommend this museum and I will be coming back for future exhibitions, especially if they are Japan related. Also, I lesrned about the online website where we can find many future Asia related events in NYC.

Not the best of the city’s museums. Architecturally, does not say much. I do believe that this is a great research facility (by appointment). At the time of my visit, there was a special exhibition to mark a special Asian-American, which meant that the permanent collections were set aside. The exhibition was OK, but I wasn’t wowed by it. I do give kudos to the museum for ensuring that Covid protocols are being observed.

Very small museum. I enjoyed the ancient art work and pieces by contemporary artists. I was expecting a few more exhibits. It seems like they are more focused on hosting events.

Triennial, part 2: fascinating, diverse, thoughtful, just right. Two pieces brought me to tears. Many mediums are represented, styles, and comments on the world both as it is, was, and could be. The space itself is elegant. I spent about an hour- conscious of my time. Just go! (timed tickets)

Pretty small exhibition but curated for sure. Probably good to spend 1.5h here tops. Not too much to see. The bar on first floor is a great photo op location

Small museum, but well thought out and staffed. Exhibits change periodically. Muesum is very contemporary but has lots of places to sit and look at the art. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Good place to take students on a trip, family and friends gathering and even little children so they can learn all about the Asian culture and the cool exhibitions, galleries, and sculptures that are displayed. Ideally for a Global History (because it covers Asian culture) class to have a trip there and have a break from being stuck most of the time in a classroom.

I went during Friday's free hours so I wasn't bothered by the ticket price for a small museum. It is small, but I think it's very focused, and LESS IS MORE. I really enjoyed the Java Mysticism performance, and I spent two hours in the show. The book censorship exhibition was out of my expectation and gave me a new understanding of the book censorship from historic times till now. There was a lot to dig through from this show and I would highly recommend to invest your time reading through the intro boards and some of the books on display. I WILL RETURN to finish watching the documentary that's near the exit.

This hidden treasure of a museum is a must-see!! Viewed a wonderful exhibit of post-modern paintings by Chinese Artists that reminded my wife & I of Picasso & Cezanne influences on the third floor. First half of exhibit on 2nd floor was thought-provoking & radiantly, raw from an artistic viewpoint. Also attended that day (January 19th) a Children's Storytime in the AsiaStore via author Sheetal Sheth "always Anjali". A beautifully illustrated children's book with the theme of the story on-point!! Won't give details...you must read yourself & adults will enjoy too!

Fantastic museum. It doesn't try and encompass all of Asia by any means, but that's a good thing - it doubles down on specific exhibits and really lets individual artists shine, and give you a window into their world. Some really impressive pieces and I also loved the films they were playing in their theatre rooms. Fun gift shop as well. It's not the biggest museum but it's a nice size and it feels like they have a lot of stuff rotating through on the regular.

Amazing museum located in Upper East Side. A lot of events offered by the Museum happens every week. There is a great cafe inside. It is possible to get tickets using Culture Pass. Otherwise, regular admission is $12,00. It is not a very big museum. Probably can ve visited within two hours most.

One of my fave places in NYC. Beautiful small museum and a terrific event venue for conferences and performances (as well as critically important think tank).

Quality collection, but quite small. Not worth going going out of your way if you have to cross New York. If you're in the area, it's worth a visit. Surprisingly nice gift shop, and the cafe and some nice looking choices, but I didn't stay to eat.

I love it, very unique place and one of my favorite museums in New York City because it feels like that you're travelling the whole Asia and the exhibition tells about Asian culture and the history of it.

Went to a seminar hosted by the museum and Pratham. Was very well done. The space is very nice for events with plenty of room to move around.

It's a hidden gem, on Park and 70th, NYC, with museums in Houston and Hong Kong, and entities in CA, DC, India, Philippines, Australia, France, Korea, and Switzerland! The NU museum is home to a wonderful fusion contemporary and traditional Asian art, plus great Cafe (if it's open again), and Asia Store gift shop. Check out their website for many great programs, now live again, and streamed.
