Grounds are beautiful and clean. What's with this evil looking statue in the gardens? Also, promoting Pride. Shocking. Have to pay $10 to enter just to say a prayer. Not what the Anglican Church is about.

This is a must visit in NYC. The largest cathedral in the world depending on calculations. This is the past, the present and the future in the making. You learn about what it took to make this cathedral possible, the then new technologies used to build the cathedral. How this Cathedral has evolved and where it’s heading. If you are interested in history and architecture you will enjoy a visit. We did the after hours vertical tour with The New York Adventure Club. We climbed to all the levels of the cathedral and finished on the roof with a beautiful and unique view of New York. Learn about how the dome was built in 15 weeks by the Spaniard, R Guastavino. I don’t want to give too much away. This a great date night event.

A must see for anyone that loves architecture! On par with the great cathedrals of Europe. St John the unfinished, as it is affectionately called, has a unique history of its construction and remains unfinished to this day. They do charge a small admission for those that are sightseeing(which is used to fund their outreach and mission projects), but well worth it. When I went on a Sunday afternoon there were hardly any visitors there, which made it all the more enjoyable. It’s a beautiful and awe inspiring place.

I enjoyed seeing the cathedral both inside and out even though I'm not religious in any way. The shere size of this church is really incredible and it's fascinating to walk around inside with all the beautiful murals and architecture. I'd recommend buying tickets for the inside if you're interested in history and architecture.

A must see if you're visiting NYC! It's probably one of the most beautiful cathedrals I've been to. Pro-tip: Try to attend one of their holiday events.

Went on a tour of The Cathedral of St. John The Divine with New York Adventure Club. The tour guide provided excellent history of The Cathedral and we had a full walking tour which included a stairwell walk up to the top of the Cathedral. The archarchitecture was fantastic. I highly recommend going on this tour.

Magnificent structure. We went for the holiday crafts show. Also several times for Paul Winter Solstice concerts. There is no question it is a place worthy of your time to visit. While your there head across the street to The Hungarian Bakery. In my opinion home of the best strudel in NYC.

I've been to early service here a good handful of times after my graveyard shift with Epic Security (special services and different story). The Cathedral is truly amazing and well worth a visit. It is historic and beyond words (so I added pictures) 😀

Absolutely gorgeous. Though I'm not religious, I love gothic architecture and religious imagery so I frequent cathedrals any time I go on a trip anywhere. This was one of the most beautiful I'd ever seen. The tickets are $5.50 each so very much worth the cost. Give yourself about 45 minutes to really see everything and take it all in.

I highly recommend visiting, this is the first time I’ve seen such a church. The atmosphere is unearthly, such peace inside. I liked the exhibits on display. There was a little information missing inside about the church itself.

Otherworldly architecture, very peaceful, barely anyone other than staff in the building when I went. I couldn’t believe my eyes with all the amount of detail in every inch of this cathedral. Truly a special place, definitely visit if you’re in the area looking to be amazed.

I have been here several times since I moved to New York and it's a wonderful place. Take a close look at some of the work on the outside of the building as well as the inside. You'll notice some interesting things. Oddly, enough I've never taken the official tour although I've heard from friends that it's quite impressive. Be ready to walk though. It's a frequently used event space and yet somehow spots in it still feel quite sacred and sacrosanct rather than secular. If you look in the corners, you'll see little Tom otterness figures like you'll find hidden away in other spots around the city like the 14th Street A train station in downtown near the Irish Hunger Memorial. Everyone will tell you it's a must see for the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi but you also don't want to miss All Souls Day here. There's usually some construction going on somewhere there but I guess that's a good thing. I'm going to give it 5 stars because I don't know whether Jesus will be happy if I give it 4 just because it's a little hyper secular and crowded with construction at times. The artwork really is spectacular there

I stopped by here for a quick visit. The admission was $5 during the construction (although They have been having constructions for a while now). The church was large and majestic, it has caused a lot of arts displayed In the nave and other parts of the church. You can also peek to see the High altar (closed during construction), the different smaller chapels, baptismal fount, and the columbarium. They do provide PPE for those who don’t have any (mask was required in July 2022). There is a small gift shop as well. Eucharist daily (?) at noon ish. Other than that, be sure to visit the large statue outside the church in the park next door. Despite all the constructions and the mess, it is still a good place to reflect and relax. The rose window is just gorgeous.

Truly a beautiful and sacred space. Well worth a visit! We arrived when there was a guide at the welcome desk and she showed us around the 7 chapels dedicated to different immigrant groups. They were all very lovely and thoughtfully designed. The scope of this cathedral is massive. It is one of the largest cathedrals in the world. It was built in stages so there are several architectural styles represented. They do have guided tours including one that takes you upstairs to the towers. We would highly recommend this beautiful place.

Stopped for a brief visit while chaperoning a high school choir of 100. They arranged easy access for our large group & provided a beautiful large space for them to perform. Renovations continue & not all areas are open for viewing. Worth a visit to see this impressive cathedral.

An underrated spot for locals and tourists. We came here a few hours before a concert and we were able to attend the rehearsal, which turned out to be an incredible experience. The inside was largely empty during the rehearsal performance and the music was absolutely incredible. You just pay the entrance/tourism fee (which is 100% worth it) and then you can sit right in front while they practice.

You have to visit this cathedral while visiting NY. It's enormous and beautiful. The architecture is captivating. The art and sculptures are amazing to see. We took the tour and learned so much of the history. Definitely recommend.

Surreal experience, almost magical. We visited a few weeks ago, and the Divine Pathways temporary exhibition was amazing. The church was recently restored and its degree of conservation is really stunning. Friendly stuff and fair admission prices.

Beautiful grand cathedral! It's hard to appreciate the size of the building until you are inside it. Standing next to the columns reminded me of standing next to a giant tree. The architecture and stained glass throughout were incredible as was the artwork and carvings. I think there is a guided tour available but we just paid $5 each to walk through on our own. A large section is under renovation but there's still plenty to see.

From the outside beatiful building, but from the inside full of scaffolds as it is being repaired. But the chapels at the back are great. There is also unbearably hot inside. The staff who are mostly not wearing masks will make you wear one, which is strange.

A beautiful, wonderfully inclusive Episcopal cathedral with gorgeous grounds. It's a landmark & definitely worth going to for prayer, art gazing or just as a tourist attraction.

There are several tours offered at the cathedral. My boyfriend and I opted for the Triforium and Vertical. Although fun, what one sees on the Triforium you will also see on the Vertical so save your money and just do the Vertical. You will climb higher and learn a lot, especially if you have Gary as a guide.
