Decent playground with some kid activities. This playground definitely is better for smaller children- older kids get bored pretty quick.

Great playground! It is enclosed with only 1 exit. There's swings, sprinklers, play structure, a sand table and slides.

Absolutely amazing playground. This place is insane. It has everything you could possibly want. An amazing climbing structure all in wood and ropes. A really tall rock slide that seems to come down from the mountain. A shaded pergola that runs through the middle providing shade. Several swings and sprinklers. Everything is in great shape too. The place is great for kids all ages (even for 32 year old kids like me). The only thing missing is a restroom. Did I mention the place is beautiful? There are very nice plants all around, and everything is built in wood. The craziest thing is that there are entire cities that do not have a playground as cool as this one, yet Billy Johnson Playground is not even the best playground in this park.

This is one of our favorite parks in New York it’s beautiful and very unique. It has a kiosk for a little sitting area. It has a water feature. It has a little climbing feature with nets. It has swings entire swings. But the main attraction is the rockslide. It has a lot a large one and a little one the kids can slide on and it’s made out of stone. Our kids always want to come to this part. It is located on the east side of the park about 1/3 from the south.

One of our favorite playgrounds on east side. Summer the water park gets kids very very wet. Concrete slide, swings, and play gym are well designed for few different age levels. Can get crowded. Bridge in middle csn make it hard to keep eyes on running toddlers at all time. No sandbox.

Hidden gem! Everything in this playground is constructed of natural materials like wood and stones (except for swings) and still designed to be played safely. Visited here during Oct so it was very scenic too!

Even though it's a small park, this place is dope!!!!

What a beautiful park made with wood structures and stone steps so it is a natural and serene setting for parents and care givers with multiple play areas for kids. The park was unusually quiet the day we visited plus it is small so that made it easy for the kids to run around and us able to keep up with them. The park has a lot of shaded areas and landing areas are soft and covered in sand so not too rough on little ones knees. My kids (ages 5 & 9) gave it 5 stars!

It was a very invigorating experience my son loved it. It is a very crowded park. Think of Six Flags in the middle of the summer. There’s literally a line to go down the metal slide but it’s worth it and the lines moves fairly quickly. Super Duper highlight. I watched someone get proposed to in the bee infested garden. It was beautiful.

Lovely adventure-style playground with lots to see and do for toddlers through big kids. Overrun with squirrels who truly DGAF, will run right over your foot, into your stroller, etc. in pursuit of snacks. My kids thought the squirrels were awesome but I did not enjoy.

Fun playground for the kids. The large slide looks faster than it is. In fact it was so slow my kids had to drag their butts down and had dirty butts after 😝

Great park. There is a huge slide the children love. My pro-tip would be getting there early since around pass 10:30 the park gets filled quick and even worse - parents just standing around aimlessly while their kids are running around w/o supervision

It's a nice cozy wooden playground. Close to the South - East corner of the park.

My daughter had a BLAST on the big slide. She was really bummed when we left the Battery Playscape in Battery Park, because they have slides just like that (even a bigger one), and so she was super excited when we found Billy Johnson. We played for hours. It was peaceful, and there was a nice variety of other things to do.

Bring a soft/fluffy blanket to slide down, if you’d prefer a bit more excitement. Fun, beautiful playground. Park has an adorable stone bridge, stone slide, tire swing and swings. Located in Central Park, with plenty nearby to explore.

Such an amazing playground. It’s a little hard to get to but it’s so cute! Lots to do for toddlers a slightly older kids. It is nice that it’s right next to the zoo so it can get a little crowded

This park is not your average park. It's kinda small, but very safe. My boys enjoyed their day at this park. Will return soon!

It's such a cute, small but versatile park. My kids loved going down the natural slide and playing in water. I loved the fact that it's fenced so I can relax while they played.

Excellent! We went 2pm on a Thursday in late Aug and it was perfect. Clean, great crowd, we’ll behaved kids playing. Shade, seating, close to the zoo and 70th street entrance. Love the sprinklers, climbing, swings, sand pit. My fav playground in Manhattan

This is a great playground for kids of all ages. It’s biggest highlight is the large concrete slide which you can slide on using piece of cardboard. There is also a regular jungle gym and a small slide for younger kids. Overall, definitely recommend.
