It was an interesting experience to enjoy a comedy show in the middle of Harlem USA so you will get the aura and the atmosphere of the community. The decor was very eclectic and if you are a Music 🎼🎶 lover, you will enjoy this spot. It is a live venue so they will have live music, comedy, spoken word, etc. Don't let the exterior keep you from the experience of the Shrine!

Stopped in to The Shrine randomly and had an amazing time. I showed up on a Friday night and the live band was amazing. The stage design and lighting is also unique. It’s a mid size space with not a lot of seating, but the environment calls for standing and dancing. The service at the bar was good. The aesthetic is very artsy with a lot of personality and homage to afro and Caribbean talents. Great for a solo outing, date night or small group outing.

Great vibe, intimate space to hear musicians practice their craft and a bit of space to get your body moving. Good conversation with strangers at the bar. Drinks were so-so.

Don't be shy. The small entrance hides a huge welcome to eyes and ears when you're in. From long play classic covers all over the ceiling merging to African art onto the walls, the colorful lights will guide you to the inspiring acts shining the lights of their music with a cozy burgundy velvet curtain background. Food was beyond expectations as we ordered some fish and chips to accompany some drinks. Stylish, underground-ish, yet elaborated atmosphere.

Fun show ( MayDay). This is an authentic, real deal dive bar. Surprisingly good food, too. I would definitely go back. Friendly bartender and staff

Shrine is a live music venue that does get packed QUICKLY. Me and my friends went late, like 2am on Saturday and it was packed in there. Can barely move. However, the drink prices were GREAT! So, I'd go back, just earlier

Very lively spot where the dj will have you dancing all night long. Mainly Afro beats with other genre of music for everyone. Drinks at the bar are good but be prepared to wait as the place is always packed. Best nights to go are Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Trust me, the experience at Shrine is awesome.

A great time! Small, intimate jazz club. Get there early if you want to sit down! Just needs more seating.

I had some free time on my hands and wondered what could I do on a Wednesday night and keep it positive. I am a first timer at SHRINE. I am glad I went, sometimes when your not a regular you can be met with weird energy. However, that didn't happen here. It was upbeat with positive vibes. I would recommend anyone to this place.

Awesome live music venue. There’s an open mic every second Monday of each month. Very vibey spot with good drink & food options. There’s amble room in the venue for performers, the audience and the bar area as well. Will definitely be back!

I've been going to the Shrine FOR YEARS. It's one of my favorite places to go to hear live local music (evenings) or dance my life away late night (th-sun) to great mixes of afrobeats, caribbean, hip hop, etc. The food is great! I suggest you get there earlier (8-10) so you can have a spot to sit and eat. Tip the bartenders; they're sweethearts AND the bar can get packed pretty quickly; they work hard to keep the drinks flowing.. You're welcome partygoers. 😊👍🏾

Shrine has a very vintage feel with a whole vibe. You can easily miss this place. From outside it looks like a Bodega. My friend and I passed this place more than once until someone told us that we passed it. When you walk inside you are teleported into a room filled with vintage scenery and a lively atmosphere of black folks with a sprinkle of "other" from wall to wall. It was packed when my friend and I visited, but in a good way. We had a great time dancing to afrobeats. Go, you will enjoy yourself!

Just the best. Good is soooo very well prepared and taste delicious. The music is of heart popular selection and their open mic nights are epic with some of the best local artist that you'd never believe was here in Harlem. Amazing place to visit and put in your night out check list
