Beautiful sight of the United Nations headquarters with the flags of all UN countries flying high! The building itself is pretty as well although didn't go inside. The location is spectacular as its close to the Brooklyn Bridge. If you're in Manhattan for vacation do visit this iconic place and look out for your flag!

ago They provide guided tours with those who want more detailed features in the headquarters. The tours are, of course, not for free and can be applied for online but they are totally worthy. For those who are travelling NYC in not enough budgets, this is not sure but I assume you can just go in the buildings. During the security check at the building right across the HQ, you can say the purpose is for tour. But you would not be able to enter the specially purposed places, but the first floor and the souvenir shop downstairs possibly. Not sure, so please check with others!

One of the greatest things that the US has ever done is creation of the United Nations! To marvel at the aquamarine glass of the UN Secretariat Building, is to marvel at the power, influence, diplomacy and greatness of America. While there, you can take one of their tours. Nothing like it. This is where the world comes to say what it wants to say. The freedom of this place is matched only by the prestige all the flags bring to America each time they flutter and herald names of lands distant and foreign - but very much a part of the great commity of nations that together comprise our world!

It’s a marvel to see all of the nations flags flying all at once! Unfortunately the building was on lock down and no visitors were allowed. Still a wonderful location to have such a reverent idea put into a place that represents so many beautiful people and cultures.

The United Nations Headquarters in New York is a complex of buildings located in the Turtle Bay neighborhood of Manhattan. It is the official headquarters of the United Nations, and is home to the principal organs of the organization, including the General Assembly, the Security Council, and the Secretariat. The complex consists of four main buildings: the Secretariat Building, the General Assembly Building, the Conference Building, and the Dag Hammarskjöld Library. The Secretariat Building is the tallest building in the complex, and houses the offices of the UN Secretary-General and other senior staff members. The General Assembly Building is where the General Assembly meets each year, and is also used for other major UN events. The Conference Building contains the Security Council Chamber and other meeting rooms for UN conferences and events. The Dag Hammarskjöld Library is the largest international library in the world, and houses a vast collection of books, documents, and other materials on the United Nations and international affairs. The UN Headquarters is also home to a number of other important features, including the Meditation Room, the Peace Garden, and the Gift Centre. The Meditation Room is a quiet space where visitors can reflect on the work of the United Nations. The Peace Garden is a beautiful garden that symbolizes the UN's commitment to peace and sustainable development. The Gift Centre is a shop where visitors can purchase souvenirs and gifts related to the United Nations. The UN Headquarters is a unique and important place. It is a symbol of international cooperation and the hope for a better future for all.

This was easily the highlight of our trip to NYC. We didn't even plan on doing a tour but there was a heatwave going through NYC while we were there so we opted for more indoor activities and we were glad we did. You have to buy tickets ahead of time, and the times for tours get scooped up fast. The tour is an hour, could have been longer but it was still so informative. Our tour guide was great. (forget her name but she was a very nice lady from Madagascar). She had answers for all the questions and she was very informative and kept us on schedule. If you're going to NYC, make sure you make this a must stop for your trip. You won't regret it. After the tour you can go to the gift shop which has a lot of cool merchandise. 5/5, highly recommend. Follow me for more reviews, photos and tips.

Must visit if you’re in New York! It’s a beautiful building, very well-designed. Very interesting history and work of diplomacy, international relations and human rights. The human rights are beautifully displayed inside. We went on a guided tour. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and kind. He was able to answer all our questions and was a very informative. I would definitely recommend it! You have to book the tour in advance and can buy the tickets online. And remember to bring your passport!

Memories from USA! United Nations Headquarters. What do I remember from the UN, I send a postcard to myself. I think it is a haunting. Travelling gives you unforgettable memories. 😁 #manhattan #newyork #usa #unitednations #unitednationsheadquarters #unpostoffice #theknottedgun #spherewithinsphere

If you are in NYC and have time this is a must visit. Definitely book one of the tours in advance from the website. Make sure to get there early as you have to check in across the road in a separate building first and ensure you have your passport. The tour is very informative and it's great to see everything in person that you see on TV. It also gives you an appreciation and better understanding of everything the UN does. After the tour it finishes near some gift shops that sell items from all the member states and a great cafe. We really enjoyed and spent a few hours after the tour just walking about and looking at all the various displays etc. Once you are in as a guest and after the tour ends you can stay for as long as you like essential (or at least until it closes lol). Plenty of great photo ops aswell. Definitely an A+.

Had a guided visit earlier today, and I was thoroughly impressed. Not only is the actual building beautiful and imposing (as are its many famous rooms, especially the General Assembly), it's chock full of many beautiful, gorgeous works of art donated by all member nations.

#SOSCuba NO more lies. We need an intervention right now. There are people dying on the streets just because they are asking for freedom.

It’s strange to write a review that is so important and critical for global peace and prosperity. We don’t need their help in America but we desperately need their presence in the world to keep things stable. Visit it, learn about it, and think about the positive impact they have on our planet.

Did the Guided architectural tour. Amazing experience to see all the halls and assembly rooms. Our guide also took us quickly through a live assembly, it was quite a special visit. I am looking forward to doing the other guided tours at the venue.

A stunning architectural masterpiece from the main architect of the Lincoln Center and Corb. Even today people struggle to get the scale of monumental buildings right. Not many have such a grand setting, but still, its sculptural and elegant.

It’s much nicer inside than it would seem. The tour guides are very friendly and interesting. I liked visiting some of the halls while the meetings were taking place.

Really impressive building beautiful artwork on the outside on a building adjacent to the UN headquarters. Is really striking to see all the flags of Nations involved all sharing an equal position. There are tours available which I wish I could have done but was not aware of these until it was too late. Definitely worth visiting just to see the size and magnitude of what the UN dealing with and to support the work that goes on here

This is a historical building in Manhattan, located in Midtown right by the water and accessible by heading to Grand Central Station + a short 15 min walk. The NYC Headquarters which brings together many different global staff, personalities and political figures to the big apple also houses the General Assembly, many conference rooms and office spaces for hundreds of people from all over the world. There are tours available and in the Spring there is a beautiful rose garden and small park adorned with several interesting pieces of art (gifted by different nations) in the back of the building.

The United Nations guided tour in NYC was an absolutely fantastic experience. Exploring the iconic headquarters of international diplomacy left me in awe. The tour provided a captivating glimpse into the inner workings of this global institution, showcasing its historical significance and the vital role it plays in today's world. From the informative guides to the impressive assembly halls and exhibits, every aspect of the tour was top-notch. It's a must-visit for anyone interested in international affairs and history. The United Nations tour in NYC truly offers a unique and enriching perspective on global diplomacy, and I highly recommend it to all visitors.

We did a tour here. Security could of been better. We did a pre-check across the road and only checked my wife and I got a wristband. Was slightly confusing where to go. But we figured it out. The tour itselt was great. We didn't know there was that many meeting rooms and so many things that happen here.

I went on a tour of the UN. I love geography, vexillology and just all things country. So when I got to visit the place where some of the most I'mportant political people and descions have gone or been made, you can imagine how much fun I had. The tour guide was professional yet nice. The artifacts and works of art and just things there were very interesting and I loved them. Visiting one of the most famous rooms in the world was amazing. Pic below if needed! Totally recommend!

The home of planned disagreement. What a concept, a place for the"World" to meet and work out issues out. The building is one of a kind. The sculpt park along the river is picturesque. Too bad most of the installations are along the lines of St. George slaying the dragon.

Being in New York, it is less common to want to visit the UN Quarter, because there are many other interesting and impressive destinations in NYC. We did this, and the tour impressed us a lot. We recommend others to follow our example.

Short visit, max 1h. We visited 3 rooms included the General Assembly room. The guide was nice and entertaining! Dont have high expectations on the visit, it goes quick and you dont visit much of the building. Make sure that you arrive 15 minutes before for check in and control. Check in happens on the other side of the street.

Guided tours are super interesting. The guide we had was super knowledgeable and nice. We get to visit the security council and other rooms, learn about the functioning of the UN, the different mission, historical background, etc. It’s actually a very nice experience.

I love that the UN is open to the public. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and she took time to answer our questions. I learned so much. The cafeteria was decently priced and the vending machines were convenient. The gift shops were reasonably priced as well. The security steps were a little confusing but the process was pretty smooth.

Interesting guided tour. Nice to witness the functioning and venues of such an important organisation. Too bad most information is meant for people with very little knowledge at all. But the guides were very keen to answer more developed questions.

I didn't know that I cared what inside the UN looked like until I was there. There's so many different cultural stuff in there that it is a museum in its own right. Also seeing diplomats around and finding out about the different structures, programs and work that UN does is impressive. There is a magic and prestige to the place that does seep into you, even if you might be as cynical as I am about bureaucracy and institutions. Go as a citizen of the world and you'll love it.

This is a must for any political history nerds. The tour guide was really informative and it was great to explore a working parliament. It's quite reassuring to realise how much work people actually do day and day out to make the world a better place

United Nations are an important part of global stability and provide our world with exceptional guidance and stability. The tour is informative and extremely interesting. It is located in a picturesque setting with exceptional sculptures from many diverse countries, which are all members of the United Nations.

An outstanding skyscraper with an unbelievable amount of history, the Secretariat building is a must-visit for anyone who's passionate about international relations. All the gifts that the permanent missions of each country have left contribute to a museum-like feeling!

Amazing experience. Much better than expected. You see all the debate rooms and art/artifacts on the walls. It really has a feel of being somewhere in Europe. Very good tour guide.

Very interesting historical place to visit. Especially the park around the buildings with all the statues is worth a visit. In the basement is a very good souvenir store and a post office where you get a UN stamp on your postcards.

I was here for the Hispanic Leadership Summit. My biggest issue was lack of food and bathrooms. Because of the security, there isn’t many direct routes so you have to go up and down to get around. It’s a beautiful place, wish I could have taken the tour.

Great time to know international diplomatic. Tourists must book by UN visitor centre homepage and able to choose tour programme language not only English but also others, such as French, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Russian and so on.

This was a unique opportunity to visit the UN building to see and understand what it standards for and what it does for peace and unity across the world. We had a guided tour around the site, including the security Council room whilst it was in session. The experience was brilliant and definately worth while. The guide who took us around could have been better in explaining thing buy we got the just of what she was saying. The guided tour last around an hour and really does give you well rounded view of who, what snd why The only disappointing element of yhd visit was they flags were not flying when we visited. The flags only fly Mon to Fri.. we visited last on Friday.

The UN is an institution we should all engage with. It is imperfect and the politics can be frustrating, but critically it has created a structure for dialogue between countries on issues that impact everyone in the world. The building itself is a work of art with an uplifting atmosphere. The perfect environment for reflection and discourse on critical issues.

This place is a great spot for viewing 4th of July fireworks! 🎇 The United Nations HQ offers hour-long guided tours in multiple languages (English, Arabic, Russian, and more) for a behind-the-scenes look of the inner-workings of the UN. This could be a good option for a family activity on rainy days during your NYC visit 🗽. I wish the tour was free!
