Overall it’s tourist attraction, so expect a long line even though you have bought tickets in advance, crowded ferry, 20 mins wait for line and security. Plus the security was extremely grumpy, shouting a name while we were waiting, I thought they discovered firearm in the luggage or something, turned out the were just try to find the person🙃 If you don’t have the ticket to the crown, this trip might take u 1 to 2 hours, I was not interested in the Ellis Island so went back to where we started. Honestly nothing fancy and everyone just here for photos, if you know you know. One of the spot that you have to go, but first time is the last time.

This was a seamless tourist experience for us. A few tips - book your ferry tickets online. Go very early - it gets very crowded and in the summer the heat is very difficult. Make sure you pay attention to which ferry you are taking back - one goes to New Jersey and the other to manhattan. Beyond that it is a great experience and there are plenty of spots from which to get good pictures.

The vista point is currently closed due to construction! But you can walk along the paved river path and get a decent shot of the Statue of Liberty if you have a good zoom. Plenty of places to sit and relax. Nice little park surrounding it. Close to the port of ferry subway station and the Staten Island ferry terminal. Enjoy!

7-20-23 currently under construction so there were fences and stuff in the way. I am sure after it’s all done it would look nice. Parking was a thing too. Well getting there was a beast but this was my first time driving in NYC which is an Olympic event in it’s self! We went at night so there were several homeless sleeping already on benches and the like. A lot of trash around as well. NYC is not hitting on all cylinders right now. I was here in 2018 and everything was a little nicer then. Terrible no. But still a little off. Will I come again. Sure.

It‘s an okay trip. You can see the Statue of Liberty from a far distance but your pictures will always have the harbor and container ships in the background. There are definitely better options for seeing the Statue of Liberty. But the park is really nice to relax.

Es war schön hier mal gewesen zu sein. Tickets für die Statue gab es leider keine mehr. Gutes Museum mit schöner Aussichtsplattform. Absolute Massenabfertigung.

If you can't take a ferry or guided cruise or physically visit the statue then this is a good spot to at least say you saw it. Otherwise, noting too special. Cute little park nearby but if it's busy then it's tough to find enough shade to cool down. It is very hot in this part of town with so much concrete and not many trees/parks.

We took a guided tour to both Liberty 🗽 Island and Ellis Island, which honestly wasn’t worth the money we paid. The guide was great but the tour is reasonably priced and easy to navigate without a guide and includes ferry tickets between the islands. Great views of the Statue with lots of photo opportunities. Nice gift shop and informative museum.

Worth the trip, long lines go early so you dont have to wait last boats in the afternoon they get slow Besides that is good for families and even if you want to know some history Try to go to the crown is a beautiful view from up there. Take your time on the stairs, is not so bad just small

The Statue of Liberty, also known as Lady Liberty or the "Mother of Exiles", is a large neoclassical sculpture located on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, in the United States. The statue was designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and was gifted to the United States by the people of France in 1886 as a symbol of freedom and democracy. The statue stands at over 151 feet tall, including its pedestal, and depicts a female figure holding a torch in her right hand and a tablet inscribed with the date of the American Declaration of Independence in her left hand. The statue's crown is made up of seven rays, symbolizing the seven seas and continents of the world. The Statue of Liberty has become a global icon of freedom and democracy, welcoming millions of immigrants to the United States over the years. The statue's famous quote, "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free," has become a powerful symbol of American ideals and aspirations. Visitors to the Statue of Liberty can take a ferry to Liberty Island and climb up to the statue's observation deck, which offers stunning views of New York Harbor and the surrounding area. The statue is also surrounded by a large park, offering plenty of opportunities for picnics, walks, and bike rides. Overall, the Statue of Liberty is a powerful symbol of freedom, democracy, and hope. Its message of inclusion and acceptance continues to inspire people from all over the world, making it a must-visit destination for anyone visiting New York City or the United States.

Place is under remodeling so they have everything boarded up. Beware of the guys trying to sell you on the boat cruises. They would tell you, there’s no way to see the statue unless you get on the boat. Not true. Just walk around the green wall. Best way to see the statue is to reserve tickets on the official ferry to the statue.

It’s nice because you can just relax there. Most people want to just take a ferry and get right up close, but for us movers and shakers, this is good. You can enjoy it’s incredible presence without having to get in line and do a lot of cattle line style stuff.

If it weren’t for the cold, it would’ve been a nice walk to this area. The statue is a little far away but you can still feel the power that comes with the statue. There is a big station not too far that looked like it had a few places to relax and eat. Worth going to get a little viewing but if you want to get close, this is not the spot for you.

This was definitely the highlight of our trip. When else would you be able to see this! Some things I would want to know before I go: 1. We went in December and they actually sold out of tickets to the crown because it was a last minute trip for us. I kept checking every Sunday randomly, and some more tickets appeared about 2 weeks prior to our trip. We got lucky, but I’d recommend buying tickets to City Cruises 3 months prior for peak season. 2. Bring a quarter with you for lockers. They are extremely strict about locking your belongings up. There are small lockers and large lockers. Both are a quarter deposit. 3. We never waited in line for the boat. We just went when they were about to leave and we were able to jump on. There’s a lot of space! 4. You want the “crown reserve” tickets if you want to go to the crown. It’s 162 NARROW stairs after the pedestal, so be prepared for a climb! And maybe place your jackets in the locker because it gets super hot with the confined space. For the gift shop - I was a little disappointed that all their items are overpriced and made in China. I bought a Christmas ornament that was made in the US.

The place was okay, but it was way too crowded. There was an extensive lineup for the ferry, which was also packed with many people. Also, if you are planning to see the statue, then book your tickets in advance because they only allow a certain number of people everyday.

This is a nice place to walk around and admire the view. You can see the Staten Island Ferry leaving as well as sailboats, motorboats, jet skis, etc. You WILL get a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty- but that's really all it is - a glimpse. All you'll see from here is the side of the Statue of Liberty which is also too far away for it to look good in any pictures. But if you want to visit just to say that you "saw" the Statue of Liberty, this is a good option- plus, it's free. I wish I had brought my Canon camera here so I could have gotten some better pictures, but my phone was pretty decent in most scenarios. Just wish I could have zoomed in a bit more to get the Statue of Liberty, but it is what it is. The main reason I'm leaving 4 stars instead of 5 stars is due to all the people coming up to you or stopping you to try to sell you something. The majority of people selling things are stationed somewhere and stay there, but there were a few people went out of their ways to interrupt my walk and it was annoying enough to make me want to mention it as a simple "no" does not dissuade them from leaving you alone either. From people selling tours and boat tickets to a dude selling his mixtape, it's easy to be targeted when you look like you're a tourist just because you're taking pictures. To anyone who says these people are just doing their job, I would say that they should do their jobs without harassing people and not taking no for an answer. Why continue to try and convince me to take a tour in a city I lived in for 22 years AFTER I said no? Not sure if any of this was racially motivated as I'm brown-skinned so I'm not going to make assumptions, but I don't feel like other people were being stopped as much as I was. In fact, one tour guide or something yelled "NAMASTE" at me when I walked by the National Museum of the American Indian which is nearby. At the very least, I think THAT was racially motivated, but that happened elsewhere so I'm not letting that particular instance affect my review. So yeah, not a horrible viewpoint of the Statue of Liberty, but don't expect a good photo opportunity either. You WILL need to take the ferry or another boat to get a better view that's Instagram-worthy.

Can see the view of Statue of Liberty. Not recommended for photo as you will not see the statue of Liberty clearly, unless you use high end camera. Walkable from the subway station

The statue is beautiful. The building, cafe area and the entire atmosphere is great. We got an opportunity to watch the videos of how it was all conceptualize and eventually came together.......wow, it was a great experience.

From here it is possible to get a glimpse of the steel lady although you need a good camera to get a nice picture. Best is to take the ferry from here to liberty island. Get your tickets upfront as there’s a lot of people.

We were short on time, but it was our first time in NYC so naturally we want to see the Statue of Liberty. This was a nice compromise from riding the ferry. We caught just as the sun set. It was beautiful to the eye but not close enough to capture a clear photo with an iPhone 13. Still recommend if you are trying to see the highlights but don’t have a lot of time. Plus it was free.

Lovely place to sit and chill. The statue of liberty is in far distance. If you really want to see her buy a boat ticket from statue cruises, takes you under brooklyn bridge, around the lady and Ellis and governors Island.

We happened to be visiting NY on a rainy day, and didn’t really want to take the ferry to liberty island, so we decided to go to the view point. Honestly, it’s not really worth much besides being able to say you saw it. It’s visible, but it’s very far away and it isn’t facing towards the view point. It’s nice that there’s a park area nearby though.

Haven't been here since I was a child. Much more impressive as an adult. Entire inside stairs were not open but I wasn't planning to walk up anyway. She's an awesome lady and majestic statue. The history and inspiration I hope is timeless.

Beautiful views, the national park service keeps the island clean and litter free. September of 2021 there is work being done to restore the base. Sitting in NY harbor the salt water does the its toll on the structure. Still a great experience

Big park in front of the river with many activities to do... not great view of the statue of Liberty, specially when the sun goes down.

Crazy crowded and the boats on a Friday were an absolute nightmare, from getting on a long line to not even being able to find a seat on the rocky boat, it’s was slightly traumatic. Getting there was not that great, the view is still far u less u pay to go up close and into the statue.

Visiting the Statue of Liberty was an unforgettable experience. As I approached Liberty Island by ferry, the grandeur of Lady Liberty standing tall against the New York skyline took my breath away. The sense of history and symbolism that surrounds this iconic monument is palpable. Climbing up the pedestal and then into the crown was an adventure in itself, albeit a bit claustrophobic due to the narrow spiral staircase. However, the panoramic view of New York Harbor from the crown was well worth the effort. It's a unique vantage point to appreciate the city's skyline and the vastness of the harbor. Exploring the museum on Liberty Island was informative, providing insights into the statue's history, design, and the enduring message of freedom it represents. Learning about the statue's origins as a gift from France to the United States added to its significance. The experience was made even more memorable by the knowledgeable park rangers who shared interesting stories and facts about the statue. Overall, the Statue of Liberty is not just a symbol of freedom but also a testament to the enduring spirit of democracy. It's a must-visit landmark that left me with a profound sense of patriotism and appreciation for the values it stands for.

A mandatory thing to do in NYC. But the Parks Department and Ferry Service could make it a lot easier, especially in the summer. Like some awnings on the New York terminal side so you don't stand out in the summer sun for an hour or two waiting for the boat. Or like some complimentary bottled water for people who didn't bring any... just as a humanitarian gesture. Maybe get Costco or Uber or T-Mobile to donate water and some misting fans for promotion and good PR. Just food for thought.

Nice park area next to the Staten Island Ferry which is a free trip and gives a great view of the Statue of Liberty. There was a lot of people during July 4th and plenty of food vendors in the area. Definitely a must see when in NYC.
