Great location! Was able to walk to many attractions, restaurants, shopping, etc. Quirky hotel. Rooms are small and space is limited but if you are traveling alone or for a short stay I recommend staying here. Rooms are basic but neat, clean, and felt new. I had a room with double beds. The “chair” and “table” were hung on the wall; there if needed but really no room to put them. I used the second bed as a place to put my suitcase and other belongings since there wasn’t a closet or even a chest of drawers. No fridge in the room either…or ice makers on the floors. The check-in / front desk people were kind of snarly even for NYC. On the entry level there isn’t a lobby but on the second floor is a lounge area and a bar. There is a rooftop bar which apparently is exclusive because its under lock and key and also has its own street access for people not staying at the hotel. The website says you get a free cocktail when checking in but none were offered or given even when asked. The hotel does offer various social events like “drag makeup workshop” and “drag bingo” but nothing was scheduled when I was staying there. Another quirky thing, you can use the rotary style phone (which is actually push button) to choose a bedtime story to be read to you.

Nice hotel in the Chelsea area. Loved being near the flower market! What a great staff they have here. Everyone is so helpful and friendly, from the front desk to the lounge to the little cafe. Rooms aren't huge, but that's expected in NYC, but they are comfy and had everything we needed. Would definitely come here again.

A good hotel, but poor service (and not in "Chelsea"). We stayed for 6 nights. No rooms were available for check-in until after 16:00, but we were able to store our bags while we waited. We booked a king room with breakfast back in Feb, but we're told on the first morning that they "don't do" breakfast. They did give us a $10/day allowance to use at the cafe next door which didn't cover the cost of 2 croissants. The bar staff were very rude and had no system for serving customers in order of arrival. Overall, the room was fine but too small to spend any time in other than sleeping. A good hotel to explore the city from as it's close to a couple of metro lines and Penn station, but the area is not what you would think of when they call it Moxy 'Chelsea'.

The Moxy is a great place to stay but it’s better for leisure than business. There is a roof top bar, a restaurant, a coffee shop and a happening vibe. The rooms are small and mine didn’t have a closet instead it had some well placed hooks. The room however was well arranged with lots of power sources and a good shower. The desk for working was tiny with a fold up chair. The view was lovely but there didn’t seem to be lounge for Titanium members and so no endless supply of tea or coffee. There are restaurants a short walking distance away.

I loved this hotel and my stay! I had a city view king room and the view is absolutely incredible! I am a solo traveler so the room size and layout was perfect. I only wish the shower was clear glass to enjoy the view from there! The convince of the coffee shop in the lobby made mornings on the go or being lazy a treat. I had a high floor room and the nightclub noise did not bother me or interrupt my sleep. I was sad I didn't go up to see the view. Thanks to the staff for being amazing and kind! I can't wait to come back to my new favorite hotel!

The Moxy NYC Chelsea hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The modern and vibrant atmosphere, coupled with friendly staff, created a welcoming experience. The room was stylish, well-designed, and offered all the amenities I needed. The hotel's central location made exploring the city easy, and the rooftop bar provided stunning views. Overall, a fantastic stay that I would highly recommend to others.

We stayed at Moxy Chelsea for 4 nights leading up to New Year’s Eve (2023). Our experience was absolutely top notch from the moment we walked in the front door. The staff is as friendly, helpful, and accommodating as any I’ve ever experienced. Any time we needed anything, they were happy to help us immediately. We were welcomed as if we lived in the building every time we got back to the hotel. The hotel bartenders were top notch in all categories. Location was incredible for attending a concert (or game) at Madison Square Garden. Any easy 10 minute walk in such a great part of the city. To top it off, we left behind a very valuable item in the room. I called the hotel shortly after arriving at the airport, and they had it shipped to us via UPS the next day. Top notch customer service that you just don’t find often. If you’re looking for a top notch, unique, reasonably priced hotel in NYC, look no further than Moxy NYC Chelsea.

The location is great and we had a great view looking at the Empire State Building BUT we also had NO hot water for 2 days which in NYC is a real issue. Rooms are VERY small (and all the same size so no upgrades) so if you're coming with 2 large bags and planning to shop, you have to jump around to get to the toilet. Staff was friendly and there is a decent gym and the rooftop bar is cute.

Staff was super nice and helpful. The coffee shop downstairs was so nice on the way out in the morning. The decor and furnishings are stunning. Bed is super comfy. Be aware though that they tell you that the rooms are tiny and that is no joke. Very little room do do anything other than sleep. Great experience though. Would recommend

Amazing room. Amazing guest service! Family came to spend Christmas in NYC after my work trip. We had such a good time. There view from the room killed it and the distance to all attractions, in all directions were walking distance. Centralized and also dollar pizza spots on block away. There is a great bar to get drink at and club on the top floor. There was this coffee bar right next to entrance that was easy to get coffee at to. Easy to grab coffee in the morning.

We loved our stay this past weekend at the Moxy Chelsea! The customer service is excellent, the rooms are very clean, the lobby smells so good, and we slept well. I also enjoyed the cafe attached … best coffee in the area. Great location too! We walked to pretty much everywhere we visited.

First off enjoyed the location. Came to celebrate my anniversary and husbands welcome home deployment. The biggest down fall was that we loved we had a city view but being higher up meant being closer to the bar that is open at night. Even though we were 4 floors below all we could hear from like 9 pm at niggg till 4am was the large base of the music and it was worse than the city street noises. I made a complaint and offered to comp one night well I’ve been trying to get a hold back to hotel with no response and funny thing is they still charged be for whole visit. I even have messages offering this. What a horrible customer service and now I don’t think I’ll ever be back

I would like to say that the gentleman that greeted us at the door was probably the highlight of the hotel he was kind and very attentive. My wife and I stayed at the Moxy hotel on Friday and Saturday night October 1-3. Our experience at the hotel was very subpar. Both Friday and Saturday night we brought to their attention that the air conditioning system was not working and they responded with we will send somebody up to check on it within five minutes. Both times nobody showed up. Ironically, they had even acknowledged that their diagnostics were showing a blockage in our ac system and yet, still, no one came. Every time we took a shower water would continue to run into the toilet section of the bathroom leaving a huge puddle that we would have to jump around to get to the toilet. We also let the front desk know that the TV wasn’t working properly and they said they would send a technician to help us with that, and again, no one showed. The telephone in the room was also very spotty and disconnected us multiple times. The front desk obviously had no intention of calling us back even though they knew which room we were calling from. This is the first negative review that I have ever written. I hope to never write another one again.

Overall very nice hotel and experience. Plenty of community/bar spaces and they are nicely designed. The rooms are small but that's standard for NYC - they do make great use of the space and things are elegantly/minimally designed. Wall to wall windows in the room are awesome as well. Would stay here again for sure.

This has to be one of the most impractical hotels I have ever stayed at and I have stayed at a lot. It’s NYC so smaller rooms are expected but in this case they have taken efficiency to the next level. The toilet and shower are screened off from the bed by glass which means anytime during the night a partner uses the bathroom the other sleeper is woken by the blazing ball of hell from the shower stall. It also means you are up close and personal with the bathroom movements of your partner. There is nowhere to put items except the hooks along the wall and a tiny fold down desk. There is only barely enough space to walk between the bed and the walls so there is no space to place a suitcase on the ground either. There is also no trash can provided. There is a sink which is extremely narrow and shallow with a tiny shelf over it, not actually useful. Whilst the decor is meant to be hip and funky it really is more annoying than fun. On the upside the staff were friendly and courteous

The rooms are tiny, super cute though. I stayed here for 9 nights in December. Good location, great staff, drag bingo was loads of fun! I would have given 5 stars, should they offer to accommodate guests up to the rooftop easier. 9 nights, I was never able to get up there. I would stay again and recommend

Great stay. Rooms were clean. Service was excellent. Great location and close to public transportation. Also, if you are staying at the hotel, there is no cover for the rooftop bar. I would recommend a place like this if traveling with friends for a few nights.

One of the few Marriott properties in town that has valet for vehicles which in itself earns 5 stars. The properties location is fantastic in the flower district / Chelsea area. The staff are all tremendously friendly and helpful from front of house valet and front desk to housekeeping and bar staff. I've not tried the rooftop bar because I'm typically here for business trips but it seems popular so probably a decent stop. The clean and acceptable gym and great coffee in the mornings are bonuses.

Beautiful views of the Empire State Building. Small room, but well designed to maximize space. One of the most quiet hotels I've stayed in. Great area, subway lines within half a block. The view from The Fleur Room on the roof is jaw dropping, but go early or reserve a table. Only draw back was the AC didn't go below 68 and would get warm at night. Highly recommend.

We paid for a room with a view and loved it. The rooms are tiny, which is typical for Manhattan. The hotel is clean and the cafe downstairs was great for morning coffee and pastries. None of the food options were up and running yet because of Covid shutdown, but there are tons of options nearby.

Overall I loved this hotel. The room was very clean upon arrival and super cute. The lobby was very clean and nice. Manny (front desk) had such a bubbly personality he’s honestly why I gave the extra star! And he was so helpful and funny. When I checked out I was able to leave my bags at the hotel to go explore the city so this was a definite plus. Cons: The only downside to my hotel stay was that my room was not cleaned the entire stay. I had to ask for fresh towels. They did not take the dirty towels. And when I asked for my room to be cleaned/serviced that day the lady at the front desk said they couldn’t do a full cleaning that day. She stated they could bring fresh towels and take out the trash. Well upon returning to my room the trash hadn’t been taken out but I did have extra towels I didn’t need since I asked for more towels the night before. Other than that my stay was lovely. I loved the location and other amenities of the hotel. Especially the friendly staff!

The bathroom walls are completely see thru. You can see everyone doing their business. Employees and area are nice and all, but it’s impossible to stay here unless you’re alone or with your partner

My daughter and I came for a two night stay and loved this hotel. The vibe and the service of all staff (except one Evening manager). was warm, helpful and friendly. The location was great. The rooms are small but super nice and ours was spotless. The bed was wonderful and the view was spectacular. We were on the 19th floor and it was so quiet. Breakfast and coffee were much appreciated. We can’t wait to return.

Really great staff. Manny at the front desk was very helpful and kind. Room was nice, great view. My only complaint was that there was a coffee stain on the ceiling that honest to God looked like a blood spatter. I messaged the front desk and they said they would send someone to clean it but they never did. It honestly made me anxious the whole first night of my trip that I got the murder room. Someone needs to tell these folks about Mr clean magic erasers. The mattresses were firm. If you like a firm bed you won't have a problem but I have a back injury and by my third night I was really in pain. I kept waking up by 4am because it just hurt to sleep. BUT overall it was very comfortable and clean otherwise. Much nicer than the St James down the road where I stayed on my last work trip. If you're looking for somewhere in nomad I'd reccomend here or Made. I like staying Marriott for the points and the excellent customer service.

Okay-ish location and nicely styled, this place offers a decent stay with ups and downs in the middle of Manhattan for prices you’d expect. We decided to stay here for a very short two-night trip, and it’d be difficult for longer stays. What people report is definitely true: the rooms are very, very small, with almost no place for suitcases and clothes. If you’re okay with that, you get a room with a cool design, standard amenities and - this is what pulled is in - a stunning, brilliant view of the city. The bathroom was a bit grimy and used, but not to the point of worry, and the reception staff was absolutely friendly and accommodating when we asked to switch rooms at the beginning. You are, however, paying a lot of money for not a lot of room, even for NYC standards. If the view is worth it to you, as it was for us, then this is a good choice for your short vacation.

What a perfect place to stay in the center of everything. Such a cool boutique hotel (Marriott-owned), and so well done. The rooms are so perfectly designed. Lots of great amenities. Stayed there twice and had the best time with abs without kids. Check it out.

Hey there! Welcome to the wonderful world of midtown Manhattan! This area is super safe, so you have nothing to worry about. It's right in the heart of the action, making it super convenient to walk to all the amazing places like Times Square, Bryant Park, Hudson Yard, Union Square, Chelsea, and many more. Oh, and you'll be thrilled to know that Moxys has an awesome bar and a rooftop right next door. It's like having the best of both worlds at your fingertips! Now, let's talk about the room we stayed in. It was pretty average, nothing too fancy. The floor had a bit of peeled off carpet (well, not exactly THE carpet), but hey, the view was good and the service was top-notch. Plus, the room was clean and had a great king-size bed for a cozy night's sleep. Overall, you'll have a fantastic time here at Moxys!

This was my fourth time staying more than 5+ night at the Moxy Chelsea! When reading reviews myself for hotels I always look past the small things that people complain about. Rooms are quiet, beds are comfortable, the staff is ALWAYS incredible. It’s nice to come in from a day of work and have a nice warm welcoming when you return and that’s what important! 10/10 will keep coming back!

My wife and I love the location and facilities at this hotel. Unfortunately, the customer service does not come close to Marriott standards. We stayed at the hotel for 2 days and unfortunately believe we left 2 items in our room. I immediately called the hotel and the front desk person said they would check with housekeeping and call me back. We never received a call, so I called back the next day. Finally made it through to housekeeping after being transferred 4 times. Housekeeping has me full out a form and said we would hear back in 24 hours. A week later, no response. Called back again and was on hold for 20 min, trying to get a live person. Kept getting blind transferred to housekeeping voicemail. Finally, requested a manager but was sent to guest services. She took my number and said a manager would call right back. Still no call back. It has now been a week and the items left were approx 1k, but can’t get anyone to help. I am a Titanium Elite Bonvoy member, but this doesn’t seem to help. Extremely disappointed in the way this hotel is run

Stayed here for a long weekend. Really nice staff, great location. The coffee shop connected to the hotel was decent, but not the best coffee. The elevators were also the slowest ones I’ve ever witnessed in a hotel. They really need to upgrade to smart elevators, we stopped at least 5 times every time, and you were waiting 10 minutes for an elevator. Overall a fine experience, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Really great hotel, staff were all extremely nice (rare in New York) and the room was cool too. Not a huge room but looked exactly as the photos do when I booked it which is really nice to see. Very clean. Bed and pillow not the most comfortable for me personally but it was fine. Overall a really nice place to stay and seems to be a way better value than other options around here in my opinion. If you’re into design it’s really cool as well, lots of interesting details. I’d stay again for sure.

Firstly, the service is amazing at this hotel! Kayla was beyond kind, generous and helpful and made us feel at home in the Big Apple. All the team gave great service and were interesting and funny. The rooms have the most spectacular view of the city, we had level 33- made our trip much more special. Don't miss the roof top bar or the coffee from the cafe below. Location is perfect for seeing the city! Highly recommend- thank you Kayla.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Seriously, book it. You will love it. It is in the perfect location. There is everything you need within a block or two and there are multiple plant and flower shops next door which can be a nice break from the hustle of the city. The lobby is decorated beautifully and smells amazing. Even the small details are taken care of at this hotel— the music in the elevators is fun and upbeat, the shampoo and conditioner is high quality and smelled wonderful, there are steamers/irons in the rooms . The rooms are small and cozy but the views of the city are great. The only few things that can be improved upon would be including a small refrigerator in the rooms, the service of the bartenders in the rooftop bar (the fluer room) was so off putting that my colleagues and I left to a different bar altogether, and the house keeping seemed to be rushed— forgetting to restock a few important items such as bathmat when the shower water floods a bit when showering. But these are small details in comparison to everything else that was so great. The service from the front desk (Manny) was wonderful, welcoming and accommodating. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

Wonderful stay at Moxy. Rooms are clean and beautifully designed. They are slightly tight but so practically designed that you have everything you need. Staff are amazing- super helpful and polite. The location is central and easy to get around or just walk to restaurants and cafes. Moxy never disappoints:)

Amazing location. This is a Boutique hotel. Rooms are New York sized, it’s best for the traveler that’s just wanting to sleep and shower. I would not recommend this for people with kids, it’s more for a friend’s vacation. Hotel has a roof top and beautiful lounge area/bar. Would highly recommend. Great location!!! Hotel is clean as well. Only con is elevators take a long time.

  • 4/5 Daniel S. 6 months ago on Google
Had a good time staying here. Modern and chic appearance. Hotel room was decently sized for what you expect in NYC. It was conveniently located for most of the activities we wanted to do and subway stations located nearby for things further out. The shower situation was interesting. It is frosted glass that is viewable from the rest of the room. Not suitable outside of a couple since you can see enough to know what's going on. As a couple, I personally thought it was great! Negatives were the temperature of the public areas and the room. The lobby and elevator were warm. This was compounded by only one or two out of the four elevators working at any given time so they were frequently packed with people and constantly stopping on every other floor. The lowest temp the AC can be set to is 68 which resulted in me waking up several times in the night to remove a sheet to cool down and then bring it back when the AC would turn back on.

I chanced upon this hotel at the last minute after Airbnb canceled my reservation just 48 hours before my arrival. Surprisingly, I can’t help but feel fortunate that my previous booking fell through because this hotel turned out to be a perfect fit! Traveling with only my 11-year-old daughter and backpacks made the room size ideal for our luggage-free two-night trip. If you have larger suitcases, it might be a bit tight, but apart from that, the room is truly excellent. It features a comfortable bed, large windows (mine had a fantastic view of the Empire State Building), a great shower, and a very effective hair dryer. The hotel’s beauty and sophistication added to the experience. As a bonus, they provided us with a $30 credit to spend at the bars or coffee shop. The location is also excellent; we relied solely on the subway and had no issues navigating the city. The entire staff was exceptionally friendly. I would unquestionably stay there again and wholeheartedly recommend it to others.

Good experience here. Great comfy stay. Fun modern rooms and vibe. Nice views. Cool coffee shop in the same building. I didn’t like the surcharge for additional things. Just make sure you read all details about what you’re charged for the room, taxes, credits but they charge you for additional things. I guess it’s just a thing hotels do now? Overall I’d come back and stay here.

11/19/2022 The room is very small, which is to be expected here. It is done up pretty modern. Even though the room was booked for four, it was not prepped for four guests... Only two wash cloths and towels. The wall to the bathroom is frosted glass so when someone is inside to sort of see thier silhouette. We aren't a prude family so not a huge deal but I could see some being made uncomfortable by it. I would say this place is more for couples than families. The beds are almost comfortable, and probably perfect for some people, just a bit firm for me. The pillows are nice and the bedding is comfy. I'm not tall but I feel tall in the bed. We like the area so far. We could walk to the market and there are lots of flower shops and greenery built into the buildings. Overall, I like this place but it would be better if we weren't traveling as a family.

Our stay was pretty good. Nice-ish location. Pretty touristy area if that's your thing but also really easy to get anywhere else pretty fast. The decor is a little chic-weird but it's clean. Staff is nice. There were only two things that bumped down the stars for me. 1. (the big one) - there are separate rooms for toilet and shower right next to each other. It is impossible to take a shower without water leaking into the toilet room. this was pretty annoying. who doesn't love sitting on the toilet with wet feet? 2. There is only one trash can, and it is small and in the toilet room (it has a recycling/trash divider in it as well). Was hard to throw out any boxes/food bags in there, so we often just left trash outside the room. We felt bad about it, but there wasn't really any other option the trash can was so small.

The positive: the staff were all very friendly and the room was extremely clean, also, loved the views from our room. Minus two stars for: Tiny tiny rooms.... Like, no room to put your luggage even. Also, the bathroom is like you're in a telephone booth with glass from floor to ceiling, the glass is frosted, but don't let that fool you, you can still see what's going on in there (not to mention, HEAR everything) ....... So, don't plan on sharing the room with anyone you're not comfortable going to the bathroom in front of (or showering in front of).... The kids wouldn't go to the restroom if we were in the room. No room service. And the boys were really excited about the pizza (there's a sign on the wall advertising pizza).... Found out they quit offering pizza when COVID started.... Thankfully, we found some just on the corner. Edit: I forgot to mention, I was kept awake by the club music... I was shocked that we could hear it because we were several floors from the rooftop.... I can't imagine if we were even closer to the top!

The hotel is lovely once inside. The room was clean(small, no fridge) with a great view. Staff make this place. Say thank you and watch them light up. The 2nd floor was my favorite. I had a sleepless night and went there at 2 am. Had the entire lounge to myself (except the very sweet, non English speaking cleaning crew). The street feels a little sketch at first, but then don't all side streets in the core? Neighboring business do a big business in wholesale flowers and landscaping materials. A few homeless men use the buildings as place to rest their heads. Non threatening but still a little heart breaking. I would book again.

Great hotel in the middle of Chelsea. The staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. The rooms are small, but with an excellent use of space. The rooftop bar was also excellent. My only complaint would be the coffee shop downstairs the hotel who's service was painfully slow. And the breakfast options limited. We did however find some great coffee and breakfast options nearby.
