I would give it zero stars if possible. Of course they have guides at every corner selling this tour bus. I would say our sales person was excellent, but it's what happened after. Supposedly the buses should run every 15-20 min which was perfect with me not being able to stand long. Every bus that stopped was completely full and it didn't help with over 70+ people in line waiting and we were near the front. About ten buses did stop, but were all full so no one was able to get on. I promise you I was in pain and crying because I was standing so long (no benches to sit). You ask why not just get a taxi...we had paid over $370 for four people. I didn't want to pay another $70 for a taxi. Just be weary with the hop on - hop off, that if you hop - off, it may be a while, long while before you are able to hop - on. The cruise offered with the package was nice. There are no refunds and the hop-on hop-off part ends at 7:00 p.m. even though it says 24 hours (24 hours until your ticket expires, not the use of the hop-on hop-off part) Also, the orange line doesn't run anymore since 2019!!! We would have been better off with a taxi.

Excellent experience with 50/50 talking tour. We could jump off the bus at a stop and jump back on. Would definitely recommend to other tourists! Edit: Changed review from 5 stars to 1 star. The guy on the bus when we went to get off told us the last bus left at 5 pm. We were in line from 4:45 pm until 5:10 pm when the bus arrived. When we went to get on, the bus driver told us we couldn’t ride because we didn’t have an active ticket and to ask the bus driver in front of him. When we went to ask, both drivers took off and left. We had to get a Lyft to get back downtown, took an additional 30 minutes to pick us up, and cost us an additional $50.

We took the Christmas lights tour and totally enjoyed it. Two downsides: it was all drive by. We were hoping for a quick on/off for things like Macy’s Saks and Rockefeller Center to see them a little closer. The other was the pick up and drop off points weren’t the same. Otherwise, an enjoyable trip.

Overall service was ok. Would have been even better if the hours of service for the uptown and downtown routes could be extended. Currently it ends at 5:45pm before they service the night tour (additional fees). Bus goes in one direction and took more than 2 hours to complete, great if you are hopping on and off to pay visits to nearby attractions. Plan your itinerary, going in clockwise direction will do the trick. Frequency of the busses are quite high, wait time was short. Comparing with the other hop on and off bus companies, I see more of Top View buses, shorter passenger queues for buses at the different stations.

It was a great experience, but the ticket seller advised us of wrong time for the last bus departure for the Downtown experience. Luckily, they honored our tickets for the Nighttime tour. It was amazing as well. Just beware and get confirmation from 2 or more sources before purchasing tickets. Otherwise, you may go through this incident and there may not be a substitution available. Also, it would be great if they clean the front windows of the upper deck so pictures are clearer. It was a chilly night, so we were under the hooded area. Pics would have looked better without the smudges of the front window.

My daughter and I went on the "Tea around town" tour and enjoyed it very much. We are true New Yorkers and seeing the city that way was a fun experience. The signer was good and the tea was enjoyable. The food was ok. Service was great. Alex was our server and he was awesome. I recommend this for anyone and everyone. What a great day!

The tour covered some great spots and the views were amazing. We did the night tour and the city was beautiful all lit up. But honestly the best thing about this tour was our guide Allison. She made the experience and is a real credit to the company! She provided humour, facts and made it very enjoyable! Would highly recommend this tour and Allison especially, to anybody looking for a great way to see New York City!

Everyone has to do this hop on/hop off tour if you are in NYC! We were there for 5 days and got a 72 hour pass. Perfect! Great App showing when the next bus will be arriving; bar code on your phone is your ticket. Timed it just right at dusk one evening and got beautiful skyline views of the city. Note! If you are planning ahead, get your tickets on line, they are about $30ish cheaper than getting on the street. Also, the last bus starts out at 5P, for downtown, so plan accordingly; I wished they had a last bus at 7P. My only other tip is that you should plan your days up town and down town, so you aren't running back and forth.

We got a great deal for 72 hour tour, was able to go Downtown, Uptown, scheduled Statue of Liberty cruise, night tour, and Brooklyn. The app was great to see when the approximate time bus comes. The walk from stop #11 to Pier 36 was far. We got lost in Chinatown trying to find #10 or #11 stop. I would recommend Top View use the stop number when they make a stop since it is on the map but the tour doesn't mention the #s. Other than that, the drivers were friendly and helpful. When it rained, the bus provided ponchos.

ATTENTION: DO NOT USE THIS TRANSPORTATION AS HOP OFF HOP ON. They don’t stick committed to their schedule, and you can end up getting stuck in Harlem for 50 minutes with a 10-year-old in need of a bathroom (something you do not want to need to wander on the streets in Manhattan.) This bus is ONLY worth it as a means of cruising the city. Mainly from the top roof. Very lovely and agreeable in Summer. Just do not rely on its logistics. If you plan to do several stops, you can get familiar with the bus system or the subway. It is a better option. They are easy to use and more reliable as well as independent. The sightseeing on top of Top View is very nice. Probably not enough value for the money but if you are really up to something like this is worth it

Good bus ride, the southern route had a very good service. The route that went to Central park seemed hourly with no app update on arrival times. Staff were friendly and we had a good price on the 72 hour ticket.

Great way to see the city! Recommended for anyone trying to capture lots of iconic landmarks and get around city. We hopped on/off the bus 25+ times. One of the cheapest ways to get around the city. Tour guides were very friendly. Couple things to be aware of though: •The Uptown Tour bus runs far less often so you may be waiting an hour for bus to arrive. Also that route has many low branches you need to duck under. •If you take Statue of Liberty Ferry Tour, be early so you don't get stuck downstairs instead of top of deck where all the views and picture opportunities are. •Unfortunate that they don't wipe the seats dry after a rainy day. All-in-all was very useful service. Downtown Tour is a favorite

Paid a lot of money for hop on hop off only to have to wait for about an hour or more for any bus at any stop. No one willing to help! After finally getting on the bus we went 2 stops (which had lines of 10 or more people at them waiting to get on and there was no room for them so they had to keep waiting) we get into the time square stop only to be told our bus was now going to go out of commission and we had to get off. We had been going at this for about 5 hours so far and only made it to not even half of the stops. Called customer service to complain and told them I wanted my money back ($200) since they did not provide a good service at all. I was told to email them in order to get my refund. So I did that. They asked for proof of purchase which I gave them. Then we told sorry we don’t do refunds. So I did reach out several times to several different people and was told sorry no refunds Don’t go with this company! Their competitor, The Big Bus company had 6 buses go by while we still waited for our one bus at one of the stops Lots of customers, not enough buses or drivers! I don’t recommend using them at this time.

My wife and I are fans of the hop on/off style tours. You get good info as you sight see but can take a break and go back to it. New York was no different. Could have been 5 stars if there was just a little heat upstairs. (Was Jan so cold was expected)

It passes all the main attractions. Unfortunately, most of the buses did not have ramps for wheelchairs, and half of the buses were not air conditioned. Most of the drivers were friendly and helped lift the wheelchair. One day we forgot our backpack with our passports on the bus, and there was quite a panic because we did not know the bus number. We called customer service, but they did not know how to help us. Several drivers of other buses also interfered, and in the end we got the backpack with the passports and all other stuff at the final stop. We were very happy and relieved. Thanks to the honest finder and to the bus driver. I recommend that you always pay attention to the number of the bus.

If you’re new in New York, even if you already live here, I recommend this. This bus hits all the iconic spots and places New York City has to offer. Due to the new protocols they offer you these brand new earphones, so each and everyone can enjoy the tour on their own. They take you to so many picturesque spots, from Times Square to Soho and more! I’ll definitely bring my friends here when they come over to visit.

Top View is the BEST!! It’s a wonderful way to see the city instead of walking and taxi (as they are expensive) top view offers a lot in there packages. The night tour lights you see the city and get wonderful pictures with a wonderful tour guide named Michael on ours! They have a downtown and an uptown bus and many more that takes you all over the city. Wonderful people and business, thank y’all for making our first trip to New York during new years wonderful. Attached our some pictures I took while on the bus.

I spent valentines Day (Tea Around Town) with my boyfriend and I loved it, the bus staff were so friendly and nice. But in the other hand the lady that was scanning the tickets was very rude, I was already in line when she put another couple in front of us, and just told me to step back very rude, I asked her why, then she realized I had premium access too. I mean, isn't she supposed to ask first? Or at least talk nice to people?

Yesterday we six people booked this tour via agent outside Port authorities bus terminal and they match the online price after negotiating. Looks like they overbook the tickets and no any proper answers from agent or driver when you ask something. If you have any person with disability to walk then they do not care about lowering the front gate or provide seat. The bottom part of bus do not have AC or air, so it is hard to sit over there. Our driver spend almost one hour on one narrow street as two bus stops in-between and no one ready to move. We missed some point to cover due to this delay issue. No any regret from driver or any agent for such inconvenience. If you get out at any point, it will be hard to get back on bus in timely manner. We experienced very rough driving also as they apply brakes suddenly and all people get disturb. Looks like this company do not have long run in ny city area.

I am giving two Stars just due the worse service ever received in USA due the bus drivers. Is a good way to visit in a few days New York and observe the best panoramas. Unfortunately the bus drivers offers the worse service ever. When asked about anything they ignore you or they just talk to in the worse way possible.

You have to take this tour. It's the only way to see all of New York in one trip. We did the downtown tour and it was great, BUT! GET ON THE BUS AND STAY ON THE BUS UNTIL THE TOUR IS OVER! Saw plenty of sad faces as I drove by on a full bus. Use this as a tour, not as a method to get around.

The trip itself was quite nice and the buses came regularly. The staff was courteous ans helpful. The guided tour was nice, but sometimes put of sync which was a little frustrating. I gave this trip 4 stars because they just upgraded their app which is far less functional than the previous version We couldn't tell when the next bus was coming and we could only use our ticket once and then it said it had already been used requiring us to get assistance to board again - I suspect they will fix these issues soon

We bought the 5 day Hop On Hop Off pass to get us around the city. It was fantastic and absolutely loved it, well worth it. We took advantage of all the additional adventures with the boat cruise, bike rental, etc. I can’t say enough about the Top View and highly recommend. Hats off to all the drivers for doing an excellent job.

When one visits New York, it's important to plan for self-reliance and a bit of humility! Don't be afraid to be a "tourist" and ask for help- you're gonna stand out no matter how hard you try to fit in. Schedules are a guidepost, don't plan your entire trip to the precise minute because New York is New York (it's on its very own time table). The guides on TopView were great!! So incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the service they provide, and an EXCELLENT resource for helping navigate the city sans bus tour as well. Book them! Smile! And thank them- it's WORK to help tourists all day ;)

Buses have awful roof quality. Asked these men if we could board the next roofless bus and just said no. Now I just can’t wait to end the tour ‘cause this roof is distorting everything and giving me a headache.

Buses are not on every 15-30 min as said. We had to wait 1 hours for evening service bus. No live info of next arriving bus or not served hop on hop off point are available on app. Yesterday at 16 hrs blue line was unavailable. If we were leaving Nyc today we would miss blue line, our tickets would be waisted. Staffs and agents standing on the street are friendly and helpful. Tickets are cheaper with them than on online.

Worst business practices, horrible customer service, you aren’t getting what you think you paid for. Sales man lied just to get the sale and then we were refused a refund. We were told we could hop on and off the night tour so we could get something to eat in little Italy. We were trapped on the bus for an hour before we could get off to eat. We didn’t get dinner until 9:00 PM. One of our headphone jacks didn’t even work so only one of us got to listen to the tour. Additionally we told him we were leaving at 5:00 the next day and he said there were plenty of cruises to see the Statue of Liberty. After we bought the tickets he said it wasn’t until 3:00 pm and it lasts at least an house so we would have no time to go back to the hotel to get our luggage and taxi back to Penn Station. Then we were told we could take our luggage on the bus and use it to get to Penn station so we didn’t have to get a taxi before we left. We were stopped from getting on the bus. We were lied to, they refuse to take responsibility for their own employees, and refused to give us a refund. They shouldn’t be in business. Waste of $180 and a horrible experience.

Hope you don't have anywhere to be, because it is slow. Each stop takes time. Also, be very careful which ticket package you get. They advertise their most expensive ones and you end up spending more than what you need. Otherwise, it's a great experience. The night tour is amazing

We did the evening tour. It started at 7p we arrived at 6:30 and the line was already started but we were about the 10 ppl back. Bus came at 7p and started loading ppl. Loading process/scanning tickets/checking vouchers is long. It took 20mins. After the bus was full there was still ppl waiting outside to get on so they had to wait for the next bus at 8 (so arrive early). Amazing Views at night a MUST if you never been to NY. Was not informed of headphones and the audio. Someone else had some headphones and he said you get them at the front the bus but no one ever said anything.

i really enjoyed how the tour takes you all around nyc and that you arent on a time limit at each location since its done at your own pace. i also like how they provide earphones for you to listen along with the tour which gives funfacts and reminders of which stop you are at. it also rained so they provide ponchos upon boarding each bus. if youre in nyc, i recommend topview because of the affordable deals you get and the many locations you can visit through them. attached is a photo of the liberty cruise included with the 2 day pass and a night view of downtown!

We took my 6 year old on the North Pole Express tour! It was an amazing experience that I highly suggest to anyone with young children! Hot chocolate, cookies, gifts, and sing alongs! It was a great way to see the lights of NYC and a wonderful family adventure!

Many promises, less accomplished. The audio guide didn’t work simultaneously with the bus, mostly it delayed. The cruise to the Liberty Statue isn’t close enough to the statue as other companies provide, and they don’t have any stop on Liberty Statue island or any other island around as the seller at street promises. Their downtown tour line works almost every 15 minutes and is organized. The Uptown bus line doesn’t work well, you should waste your whole time waiting for the bus that even the company workers don’t know when will arrive. We waiter for that bus more than 1-1,5 hours. The Top View application should have shown bus schedule but actually the schedule doesn’t work on the app. To sum up, I’ll recommend to nit waste so much money TopView buses and check other companies hop hop bus tours. The idea of hop hop tour is very well helpful, just pick the right company. Enjoy NYC!

We had a good time! 48 hours all included tour package!!! So many great perks like a cruise to statue of liberty, night tour was amazing and Harry Potter Butter beer incudded. We didn't have time for Brooklyn tour. Hope to make it to the Museums. Mostly everyone who works for the company are super helpful and friendly! The drivers are super skilled driving in crazy traffic we always felt safe. Thank you TopView tours!

We did the night tour and it was so worth the money. Our guide was David Z. and he was so funny and entertaining. He was faced with a tough crowd but he persevered and by the end most people were engaged. Good information about famous landmarks in the city and great views of Manhattan going over the Brooklyn bridge.

The bus experience was ok. Except that it takes too long for the uptown bus as it gets very crowded waiting with small kids The staff is very helpful. The bus should have some sort of plastic shade very helpful when it’s raining, as bus doesn’t have many seats to accommodate all the passengers..

The downtown bus tour was perfect for seeing all the city sights. The stop at the cruise to see the Statue of Liberty was the coolest and the nighttime tour was even better! Seeing the city lit up at night was so pretty and Bradley Peacock, our tour guide, was so much fun!

My Top view NYC Uptown and Downtown tours were excellent. I was very hesitant to schedule a tour with this company, due to numerous very negative on-line reviews. The sales rep was very professional. The Top View app was down loaded on my phone and the ticket was very easy to view when needed. The buses were very clean. Ear pieces were readily available on the bus and the audio guided tour was easy to hear and very helpful. I was able to sit on top of the bus for both tours. I stayed on the bus for entire Uptown tour and only waited approximately 15 minutes to board the bus for the downtown tour. I got off of the bus for the Battery Park/911 Memorial stop and waited only 10 minutes for the bus to complete the downtown tour. Overall, I had a very positive experience with TopView NYC Sightseeing.

    1. Two of the bus tours I wanted to take run hourly. I showed up a few minutes before departure both times only to find lines 50 or 100 deep and being told we would have to wait for the next bus an hour away. Not sending extra buses for night tour and telling people to wait another hour was lame. My feet were killing me so I left. 2. The cruise is a hard sell and one of the most appealing reasons to pay. They don't tell you they drop you off a mile or so from the cruise and you have to walk. 2b. I realize TopView doesn't control the cruise line but were stuffed in like sardines. I was inside which was hot and poorly ventilated. People outside were standing room only was blocked our view. The cruise was terrible. 3. I love the open air buses upstairs. Downstairs they keep the windows up so it's hot and stuffy. 3b. The buses give you free headphones so you can listen to a prerecorded tour guide and choose from several languages. Good idea! But the music between recorded segments was terrible. Silence would have been better.

Don’t waste your time and money, they lie to you just to sell tickets! They told us the bus comes every 10 minutes and they don’t tell you that you have to wait for hours to get on the bus! We waited for 1 hour and barely moved in the line and if we stayed we would have waited at least 2 more hours to get on the first bus! They have no respect for people’s time and money, this is unacceptable

  • 1/5 Pamela M. 2 years ago on Google
Do not waste your money! We paid for a two day pass. We had to wait approximately an hour every time we wanted to get on the bus. Buses would stop and they would take three people with 20-30 waiting. We ended up taking the subway from Battery Park back to Manhattan because we got tired of waiting in the cold. Just buy a pass for the Subway its much easier pretty easy to Navigate.

Main route during the day was great. No Bronx tour route, Brooklyn tour does not have stops and only goes once in morning. Not enough uptown buses, they are every hour. The night tour bus is a joke. This photo is the line that stretches around the corner. Most people waited in line 2 hours to get on bus. We waited one hour first night and left because there were no more buses, we waited one hour second night and were successful. Boat cruise great!

The price is more than it worth, specially when it’s Sunday and you can drive through the town and Google the places you like to visit (parking are free all around the city on Sundays). We were excited to ride the bus to visit exciting areas in NYC. It was not like that we expected. When you get into the bus They provide you a pair of head set that you have to plug it into a radio set. most of time the sound cutting off, you hardly get what it says because of the sounds quality. The Library Status cruise is good. The captain gives you more than enough information about the city’s history that he should. That is the best part of our 24 hours tour with TopView Sightseeing.
