The monument is very emotional. 15-foot tall black granite stone with the cutout shape of a Korean War soldier (“The Universal Soldier”). Through the shape of the openwork silhouette (absence) one can see the sun during the afternoon or the Statue of Liberty (hope). The base of the monument is decorated with flags and details of fallen soldiers from all the countries that participated in the war mission.

For such a small memorial, it's actually really beautiful. Everyone should take a moment to gaze in its beauty and a moment of silence for those that we lost in the Korean War.

A place where you can learn about participation in the Korean War. It is a meaningful place where you can learn about the scale of casualties not only from the United States but also from the 16 countries that participated in the war, and once again feel grateful to each country that helped during the Korean War. Battery Park is where you can take the ferry to the Statue of Liberty, so it's a place every Korean should visit at least once.

As a Korean, I visited this place before Memorial Day, and the memorial that includes the flags of the United States, Korea, and the nations that helped Korea during the Korean War stirred up feelings of gratitude and respect for their countries' assistance. Also, the numbers of soldiers who dedicated and sacrificed themselves during the Korean War intensified my emotions even further.

nice place Located in battery park on the wharf this Korean War memorial of a soldier is beautiful. It’s tastefully done and beckons you to come closer. To ponder the sacrifices made and to remember those who have fallen! There is a lot of statue and monument in NYC about wars. Here is one of them in Battery Park. Before our ship arrived we had made a walk in the park, it was worth it.

The monument is located in the battery park. It is a reminder of all the soldiers that honorably fought during the war. The design of the memorial is also very nice and creative. The place is also the perfect place to remember, as its more quiet than the surrounding areas of the park

The Korean War Veterans Memorial is located near the Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. It was dedicated on July 27, 1995. The memorial commemorates the sacrifices of the 5.8 million Americans who served in the U.S. armed services during the three-year period of the Korean War. From June 25, 1950 to July 27, 1953, 54,246 Americans died in support of their country. Of these, 8,200 were listed as missing in action, or lost or buried at sea at the Honolulu Memorial, at the time of the Korean War Courts of the Missing dedication in 1966. In addition 103,284 were wounded during the conflict. As an integral part of the memorial, the Korean War Honor Roll was established, honoring those U.S. military personnel who died worldwide during the war

A must-visit place for all Koreans... It is a history that should not be forgotten. I am grateful and respect all veterans and meritorious veterans who fought for the Republic of Korea and all participating countries. I recommend going at least in conjunction with your Statue of Liberty itinerary.

Nowhere near as grand as the DC monument, but still nice.

A memorial honouring the lives of those fallen in combat, affected by the scourge of war, dead, wounded, or disappeared. The universal soldier’s void is staggering. Lady Liberty is seen from a distance as a symbol of hope.

The Universal Soldier is a powerful design suggesting that under all uniforms and beyond all flags, we are inherently equal as human beings.
