Playground always well maintained, and recently revamped. Three sections; 9-12 years-old, 4-8 years old, and toddlers... though teenagers often stomp through all sections. Free public wi-fi. Multiple peddlers of refreshments and toys. Bathrooms working, though they close early.

Love this park! Been there many times and I absolutely love it. Super convenient and comfortable. Close to many schools, overall a great place for people to hang out in. Free music and events there as well. Bathroom needed renovation, and it’s being renovated right now! Very persistent. Nice child friendly environment. I’ve made so many memories here with my friends. Amazing looking after big renovations and changing. Even has recycling bins and water bottle filling station. The community is better with Travers Park.

Travers Park was always a good park with good thought out plan. But now they added more seating area and running tracks for seniors along with the existing sections. Such as, It has baby section that is exclusive to babies under 4 years. Then 4year above kids section, sprinkler, swing, basketball court, squash court and some more. It's a ideal park for a versatile community.

A beautiful park fully reconstructed recently. It has two sections for toddlers and babies. There is also a basket ball court. 7Eleven a couple of blocks away.

Still under renovation, but the new installations are impressive. Swings for children, a modern water fountain with three spigots (which cuts down on the long "water lines" which used to plague the old playground), ample benches, new sprinklers, an elevated squash court and monkey bars. The side street (78th) will still be pedestrianized, but that section has not yet been finalized. The old section with the bathrooms and basket ball courts have not yet been re-done.

Travers Park is a community park of a few streets block, which has sport field, playground, and a small man-made green-land mountain. But the extended park does include 34th Avenue of about 20-street block. City Hall and community activities do work together to improve 34th Avenue for joggers, bikers and community residents who want to have safe field for exercise and rest/break. Because of the Park project, all types of tall trees are preserved and protected as natural shades from sun heat. Many old buildings in 34th Avenue and 35th Avenue are all protected and classified as historical buildings. It seems to be a successful project for re-design of community park which seems to suitable for all ages.

I personally really love this park. It's small but it has everything I need. Its a clean park, Bench areas, chess and checker table chair areas, you can eat or play. 2 tennis courts. Playground for kids, restrooms, clean women's restroom. Enough trees for shade. This park is on 34th Ave. This Avenue is beautiful full of trees. Safe for running and walking.

Excellent place to rest after a walk down 34th Avenue. It is nicer during the day on weekdays. During weekends is buzzing with people of all ages and is a nice place to hang out and get some sun.

I have no idea why bigger kids block those swing. Lots of kids stand for swing but older kids keep doing swing and making cry to the kids. Park authority need to pay attention why the bigger(12+) kids playing on swing.

Great park. I don't understand why they turned the flat blacktop into a grassy hill but I appreciate all the benches, tables and updated playground equipment.

First time to Traverse with my puppy! :) I like that the dog park has big dogs separate from the smaller dogs. But the space is a bit small and bare (just concrete and fencing) the park itself is great with open grass areas, benches, spaces for solo exercising or with a group, Ample playground.

The only thing that was bad was trying to park. As a mobility challenged person, I found the utter lack of parking set aside for the handicapped very discouraging. I was literally in tears by the time I parked and walked (with a cane) to the park to meet a friend, 15 minutes after I first drove right past, on a Sunday afternoon.

I love this park. No Cars pass by on 78th st and 34th Ave( Only pedestrians and bikes). They have seats and benches with tables. Safe for children. A good amount of open space & great jungle gym for kids. I even like going on the swings late at night.

I bring my kids here all the time. Very nice Park for kids. Separate playground areas for children ages 2-5 and 5-12. Two of the streets around the park are also blocked off to cars so it feels very safe, a wide area for kids to run and play in.

Lovely and busy park. The big swings are too long so if you're child us tall or you want to enjoy the swings is difficult. Bring a blanket and some sandwiches and enjoy the big round lawn.

This park, in its many versions since I was a youngster, has been a source of great joy for the community. Sadly of late though, many residents are finding it hard to get in or get access, as access (especially for those with disabilities) is blocked by the inability to get down 34th Avenue (a typically empty road shut to traffic, ACESS A RIDE, etc.) to enjoy the park. Sad that so many can not enjoy the park for this reason.

The park itself is big and beautiful. Has a lot of open space to play in the grass. And the playground is really nice for kids. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because the people and even some kids are very very RUDE. Not friendly at all. Ex) they can see you waiting for a swing for over 30min and they won't give you a chance for your kid to use it.. And it's overcrowded..

The park is great for kids all ages. There's plenty of things to do. The community is respectful and the area is good too. However the park is very crowded during good weather days. There are lots and lots of people there so if you want someplace quite, this isn't the place, but if you don't mind people and kids running around everywhere than this place is great.

Traver's is a great place to come with family and friends. Its great for kids. To bring your dog. To have an impromptu picnic! It's constantly having live music performances, Zumba classes early in the morning, Tai Chi, soft serve ice cream... There's something for everyone.

The beautification project of the park has paid off. Definitely it feels a bit safer to walk around the park at night. You still have a few undesirables, such as the small motorcycles going into the park, disregarding the safety of pedestrians.

It's a beautiful Park, I take my kids here all the time. It's very family friendly and you have different areas for different age ranges.

Beautiful park , Great for family activities and also for your dog they have their space too in this park.

  • 5/5 Christina Savva F. 1 year ago on Google
Great park. I love the designated space for infants and toddlers. There’s a gate that stays closed for the children’s safety and low level sprinklers for our little one to enjoy in the summer. The park also holds Summer Sunday concerts with local musicians and performers that showcase the cultural diversity of our great neighborhood. Could not speak more highly of this park.

Very cute gem of a find. Not sure what the latest foot/bike traffic rules are for the closed avenue to get inside are but they ALWAYS change very often and are confusing. Notwithstanding, great place to sit and reflect or play a quick game of dominoes or chess with the old guys, quick game of soccer if you can manage in the crowd, walk your dog or cat.., basketball courts, etc .. Only detraction would be the rat population feasting and walking as equal citizens around the bins.

This park is so ghetto and skechy , I remember around early September, a group of young men looked at me suspiciously after I told them to stop smoking around these young kids. But they didn't care and started yelling out, "DOA." These gangs are destroying this park and neighborhood. My family and I will not be coming here to this park any time soon!
