First time leaving a review because the sales person is unbelievably unprofessional and arrogant. He doesn’t speak a word until you ask a question. He doesn’t explain anything about their rings. He even doesn’t write down the specs of the rings you looked at, fine, I can write down myself, but when you ask him specs of the rings you just saw, he’s like I forgot, don’t ask. He totally ruined my mood. Luckily, Tiffany is right beside HW and saved my day. Sales at Tiffany are so professional and welcome. Tiffany really has a lot of good stuff than I imagined. We decided to purchase there. Is the existence of HW simply to show how good Tiffany is???

Yesterday my girl friend walked into this store for a browse through some engagement ring options, where she received the worst customer service ever from an unfriendly, grumpy miss. HW have to train their employees on customer service skills and etiquette, if they still want to see an upward trend in the development of brand reputation and customer loyalty.

The worst customer service and worst sales associate ever. I want to tell the SA whoes name is Mark in front of his face: Stop being that arrogant to me -- in the end it's the brand which is luxury, not you.

The agent we met was very warm and friendly. We got well treated with dessert. The couple rings are also pretty nice and shiny.

We had three visits with three different people and all of them were excellent. Much better than Tiffany’s and Graff. Staff is incredibly patient.

The worst shopping experience ever, Hermes even better than them. Instead, we are buying our engagement ring in tiffany. Much better service and they can do size modification in one day compare to HW with 6 months waiting...

Love the rings but the sales lady was a bit arrogant and unfriendly… shopping for wedding bands and engagement rings should be a fun experience, but she just made me want to purchase elsewhere. Sadly there is only one HW store in New York, otherwise I would have wanted to tried my luck in another location.

The worst customer service and worst sales associate ever. Before seeing the sales, everything is good, they email me to confirm the appointment, the guy helped the me to check in is very friendly and nice. But the sales assigned to me is definitely the worst sales.

My husband and I went there to see yellow diamond ring for me and the service was horrible. It was non existent at first: we had to ask a few times to be served and then took more than half an hour to show us the ring. We were never offered anything to drink as well. I understand that both of us were wearing really simple clothes, but it’s an expensive store where personelle should understand that the way you are dressed doesn’t mean anything! Or maybe you don’t get properly served if you wear Cartier and Tiffany, lol. Nevertheless, it was a ridiculous experience and both of us cringe every we pass by this store. I hope HW management will change instructions they give to their team and make sure it will never happen again. Just like us never getting back at this store.

Worst customer service I have had ever experienced. I visited several brands (tiffany, catier, de beers) to try engament ring. HW is the worst: 1. No introduction at all to the styles 2. I and my fiance stood there for 25 min to try on rings. Wasn't offered a seat at all. I feel extremely uncomfortable the whole time in this store.

As a client you are treated with grace, charm and respect. While visiting their salon the experience is one of elegance, comfort and relaxation. The sales staff is extremely knowledgeable ,patient and courteous while willing to do whatever it takes to answer any questions you may have. Truly a delightful shopping experience.

I love their jewelry for many years but the stuff I met yesterday was the worst in these 10 years I had been the store in nyc. I went to there with my boyfriend. The stuff we saw was very unprofessional and not friendly at all. Not sure because we stop by there when the door close before 45mins or before Christmas season. We will try here again after the Christmas season. If the stuff is same quality, we will not go this location again.

Terrible sales associate. Didn’t know anything about the rings except to reiterate that they were “the best”. Didn’t speak unless we asked a question. Didn’t educate us whatsoever on the rings or diamond. Will never come back. Tiffany’s had much better service, as well as Brilliant Earth.

Terrible aftercare service. No one genuinely wanted to help with a repair. Very few salons outside America so I have to fly to their Manhattan salon for a repair drop off.

The staff at Harry Winston is incredibly professional and courteous. this is where I purchased my husband's engagement ring and he loves it. they are currently in a temporary location while their fifth avenue location is re modeled. I always enjoy a visit to Harry Winston.

Wow! This is the real deal, couldn't be more luxurious in terms of beauty, quality and selection. I don't like pushy sales folk so enjoy being able to browse in peace and when I did have one small inquiry the response was discreet and respectful.

I expect much better level of integrity and care from HW sales team. The value of HW is ruined by the the service of this store.

We have not received the GIA certificate for the diamond ring more than a month from our purchasing date. The sales promised to mail it to our address but apparently it was sitting in the store the entire time. There was no greetings or holiday gift from the sales lady at all. I only spent 3k at Mikimoto across the street but the sales never missed the holiday wishes.

Terrible experience. At this price point, you would expect better service. The guy who served me explained nothing about the ring, the carat/ color/ clarity/ price are all on the tag on each ring, so he was rly not very helpful other than taking out the ring for me to try on. We were standing at the counter for half an hour. There’s an empty table but they wont let us sit down. I was carrying my heavy down jacket, no one offered me coat check. There were like 3-4 unnecessary staffs just standing there not doing anything. Not sure who they think they are, but no other luxury jewelry brands serve like this. At this point, they are just losing customers to their competitors because of the terrible shopping experience.

Lovely rings but terrible customer service. We made an appointment to try engagement rings and wedding bands. The sales lady acted as we were trying to rob the store. Every time we asked to try a new pair (we tried in total 3 pairs), she was rolling her eyes and took away the old pair immediately. We finally purchased rings from Graff which had much better customer service. Harry Winston is a good brand, but clearly their staff need more training and some basic respect to their customers.

I NEVER write google reviews (I am too lazy to contribute time to write it) but this recent experience I had with this store made me want to write a review for the very first time so that I can save other people's time who may want to visit this store. As many others already mentioned, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! We walked in to look at diamond rings and the old lady (who looked like a manager level or higher) bluntly with very obviously annoyed facial expression asked "you have appointment?". Ok - I understand, asking bluntly is fine I guess... Not trying to be a picky customer here. Gets sales associate but still MANY problems... 1) Because we look like Asian, the sales associate automatically assumes we are Chinese and starts talking to us in Chinese. I understand that there are many Chinese in the Asian population, but it is very disrespectful to just assume someone's nationality and starts speaking in a certain language that is not English. 2) We go upstairs to look for rings, and the sales associate just STANDS there, no questions asked, and stares at us to ask questions. We had come into the store with certain questions prepared of course, but still, no greetings whatsoever compared to other high-end jewelry stores. When we pinpoint certain rings and ask if we can see them, the associate just takes it out of the case, gives it to us, and total SILENT again. No comments about what type of design is, what carat, what color, clarity...etc. Even a 5 year old could take it out and show it to us because apparently they think they don't need to explain anything to the customers. Even when we ask questions, they answer them in maximum 3 word sentence and no elaboration. For those who wrote the review saying they think they treated you badly because you wore "plain clothes".. you are wrong. They STILL treat you horribly with bad customer service even if you go in with "luxury brand clothing and jewelry" LOL SO.. just very bad service overall whatsoever is a very good explanation for this store. The staff who looked very high-up (manager level or higher) was even rude so i honestly don't know how these google reviews will actually be taken into account to educate their staff in terms of respect, courtesy, and how "average" service should look like, but someone from the main HW company needs to see all these google reviews... seriously. Because your staff is ruining your brand names LOL Summary: Any other high-end jewelry stores will have farrrrr more better quality service than HW. If you are looking for HW style high-end jewelry, just go to GRAFF - they are like few blocks up from HW and honestly their service is far more better (can't even compare) and exceptional and they actually think about their clients unlike this store. We bought some pieces at GRAFF so we were expecting somewhat same quality from HW since they are considered "rivals" but after visiting this store, NOT EVEN CLOSE TO IT. Even if I found something that I super liked at HW, I wouldn't have bought it here because of their poor quality of customer service and how they treat their clients. This took me a long time to write it, and as I said, I am a person who doesn't write reviews. But, I took extra time to write this long review this time because I genuinely want to save other people's time - because we all want fun, lovely experience while shopping for jewelry, right?

Wasn't prepared to be treated so horribly by the sales lady when I brought my fiancé here. The sales person was rude and arrogant; she also incorrectly assumed we were from out of town. Obviously this is a Company-directed sales tactic; otherwise why are sales associates at other jewelry shops so much nicer?

I come here to share my frustration with their customer service and I find many people experienced similar things as I did. Here are some tips that you should know before you make your purchase and they will never tell you beforehand: 1. They will be super nice and friendly before you made a payment but unfortunately not afterwards. (For those who complained that they never showed politeness, you should feel lucky because you knew it from the beginning and thus can avoid they :) ) 2. My sales person who suggested and helped me to pick a loose diamond. The color of that diamond looked yellow to me. So I asked him to get a same grade diamond for me just to compare. From the comparison, it was obvious the one he provided me was yellowish. After he arranged an investigation, he admitted that "the color is off" and "we want to make things right for you". He also told us that it was his first time to see this happening during his career at HW. However, later when I had to communicate with the solon director, she denied those facts. She said there was nothing wrong with the previous stone, thus they cannot do a refund. (I was astonished by her denying the facts but I realized it later that her strategy is to deny any mistakes they made. And she's really good at it!) 3. Any deposit or payments made can never be refunded. If they made a mistake, they will deny it. Even if the item was not delivered, there's no way for they to return the payment. Even if you realize later that it's extremely frustrating to work with them and thus want to cancel the deal, it's IMPOSSIBLE to be refunded. The best part is that they only tell you after you make the payment! 4. to be continued.

As lots of people experienced at HW NYC, my boyfriend and I also had the WORST customer service ever at the self-claimed "King of Diamonds". The Asian female sales who was supposed to help us was grumpy, unwelcoming, and rude. We thought HW would train the staff to be professional and helpful at least, however we were shocked by the arrogance and ignorance. DEFINITELY won't come back again. Shame to have such an awful sales to a premium jewelry brand like HW.

    1. Nobody opened the heavy door for us, they just stood there like we were supposed to open it ourselves 2. Nobody greeted us when we walked in. We have an appointment and we had to ask the door guy to get the SA for us 3. Nobody offered us drinks/water 4. When looking at the rings, the SA will only speak when we ask him questions. Nothing else. 5. When we were done, the SA didn’t even walk us downstairs, we had to walk out awkwardly by ourselves. 6. We had to open the door ourselves, again. Nobody said goodbye to us. After 4, I immediately lost interest in this brand and wanted to walk out. Unprofessional, arrogant and condescending. We dressed nice enough, can’t imagine what will happen if you walked in with shorts and tshirt. I guess they only care about people who can afford $100k rings. Once I get offended by a brand I won’t get over easily. HW won’t have my business for the rest of my life, period.
