    I've waited a long time to write this review because I was hoping James Allen would right their wrongs but so far this has not happened. In a nutshell this is what happened with my engagement ring. It's an engagement HORROR STORY! My husband purchased a ring from JA back in 2015, in 2020 I decided to send the ring in for the complementary stone tightening and rhodium plating since the yellow of the gold was starting to show through. This is a lifetime service that JA offers their customers so I thought I was in extremely good hands. Not long after having sent my ring in I received a phone call that my ring was severely damaged, this was extremely shocking to me because the ring had been checked several times throughout the years and nothing had ever come up, furthermore I am a goldsmith so I am extremely careful with how I treat my jewellery. James Allen couldn't quite explain the exact damage but told me the whole ring had to be remade from scratch. At this point I asked for written evidence of the damage and photographs, I also asked JA to send the ring back to me as it was so that I could get a second opinion from one of my many contacts within the jewellery industry. The representative I was dealing with told me it would be no problem to send the ring back and then decide whether I wanted the setting remade or not at a later date. I received the ring several days later and noticed it was not the same ring!!! The band was tighter and chubbier, the stones around the halo were fewer, the centre diamond sat much higher than before and the setting in general was incredibly un-refined and very, very different to my original engagement ring. I was incredibly shocked by this so proceeded to contact JA and ask for an explanation. They explained that the ring had actually been destroyed by them (during a routine service!) and as a gesture of goodwill they had remade the ring for me free of charge! Except that this ring looked nothing like my original! After many rounds of emails and cross words, they agreed to remake the setting for me again and assured me they would be able to achieve the exact look of the original ring that they had destroyed. Several weeks later a second ring arrived, this version even worse than the previous. Still the wrong number of stones around the halo, the setting even more chunky, one of the micropave around the halo was loose (and fell out later), the centre stone held by huge, unsightly prongs that didn't even sit flush to it (the diamond is visibly at an angle). Again, I discussed the issues with them and offered many solutions to help them achieve the correct look, including using one of my trusted jewellers to remake the setting since they clearly did not have the right talent in house, or a handle on quality control. All the suggestions were disregarded and I was told there was nothing more they could do to help, that they had gone far and beyond and I just had to accept that these things happen. I escalated the issue and they put me in contact with legal counsel so that we could perhaps work towards a solution. Legal counsel to date have offered us $1000 to recreate the ring and they will have no further discussions with us. Quotes to recreate the original setting have come in between $3000/$7000. James Allen will not even consider the lowest quote for us to remake it which means we would be considerably out of pocket. They have been so rude throughout the entire process and have made things so difficult every step of the way even if the fault lies ENTIRELY with them. We just don't know what to do anymore so this review was my last resort, A) To warn you that they are using really terrible third party manufacturing and B) that if anything ever goes wrong you are NOT going to have a lifetime guarantee with them because they just DON'T uphold their policies, and if you do send in your ring you may never get it back! We are heartbroken by a company that is meant to celebrate love but instead destroyed the single most prised material possession we had and the memory of a beautiful proposal.

    I started the search for an engagement ring on line. I began to find excellent reviews on James Allen and finally, I made an appointment to visit the New York showroom. The attention that I received was excellent . Every question was answered. The entire process was seamless from the point that I ordered the ring with an updated timeline for delivery to actually receiving the ring. The ring is beautifully handcrafted in the USA. The diamond, clear with an excellent cut. Packaging was spectacular and my fiancé absolutely adores the ring. I highly recommend James Allen for your jewelry purchases.

    My diamond was set wrong, it should have been set with East/West configuration as stated on the invoice and instructions. All my professional wedding pictures have a ring that I did not order. We do not trust the credibility of the company to send it back for remount. Also, this should have been a rush overnight to fix it before we had our reception 3 weeks later. We were told it would take 2 to 3 weeks to correct. Very disappointed, and now we have to find another jeweler to reset the stone.

    Absolutely stunning piece! The craftsmanship and details on the ring were exactly as advertised. In the beginning I was hesitant about making an engagement ring online, but after reading tons of reviews, with 5 stars and good feedback, I gave it a shot! Ring was shipped on time through fedex that requires a person to sign for the delivery (not left at the front door). I am very happy, my fiancee loves her ring. I recommend James Allen to friends and everyone else.

    User-friendly website made the ring buying process easy. My girlfriend had a specific look for an engagement ring that she preferred so the feature to customize your own ring was really helpful! They even had a feature where you can inspect the diamond you’re planning to buy online, you can rotate it 360 degrees like you’re seeing it in person. Had questions regarding the delivery that wasn’t covered in their extensive FAQ page, their chat service answered my questions right away. Seamless transaction when checking out and shipping was fast. Planning to buy our wedding rings from here! Would recommend!

    Order diamond studded earrings for my wife to celebrate our 10yr wedding anniversary. When she initially inspected it before putting on, she immediately noticed one of the posts was bent. When I contact James Allen customer service, they offered to correct the issue in 3 weeks! It took them less than a day to ship, but takes 3 weeks to repair? Very poor customer service, will not buy from again.

    I purchased 2 rings from James Allen and absolutely love it! The package came with very secure too. The only problem was my size was a little bit off, so I had to resize the ring. Me and my fiancé has exact same ring size, but my size felt slightly smaller, which made me feel a little uncomfortable. But customer service was really good. I tried resizing for one of them, and she was very helpful, knowledgeable, clear, and kind. Me and my fiancé are really happy with the jewelry purchase from James Allen. Highly recommended!

    This little gem (.5 carat butterfly platinum diamond ring) is stunning in person. The sparkle is mesmerizing and the diamonds look bright and clean. She pairs well with many ring styles and looks beautiful as her own identity. Please consider James Allen similar pieces at Zales, Kay’s and other popular jewelry stores offer similar styles but… Lower quality with more inclusions, higher color and are more expensive. Customer service is superb and the variety of styles from which to chose are vast. All my higher end jewelry will now be purchased from James Allen. James Allen has earned my trust and loyalty.

    Thanks James Allen for delivering not only the most beautiful engagement ring a couple of years ago but now, the perfect wedding ring! Arrived in Sydney Australia via New York 4 days after ordering online, pre-Xmas, and I’m so impressed. Gorgeous cut and style, excellent quality and an attention to detail that is very unique. Now I’ve just got to go and get married! For those unsure about ordering online or from afar, just do it. It’s the real deal and a very special experience.

    Great store, I’m from Poland, I bought online and had no issues neither with James Allen nor the shipment. The ring studio where you can design your own ring is the best ring creator currently available on the internet (most opinions and real life photos of each combination!) I’m not a jewler I can’t say anything about the quality of the ring but the customer service was great. The ring was shipped couple days ahead of the time and each step in the process of making the ring and delivering it to me was clearly stated on their website and I really liked that. The ring on the photo has a knife edge band with six prong scalloped head and a 1.69ct lab grown diamon. It was shipped within about 10 days but Fed Ex took their sweet time mainly because it was stuck at customs and altogether I got it almost a month after purchasing but as I stated that’s because I live in Poland and it had to go through customs.

    I purchased a beautiful k color, 3 carat, VS1, faint blue oval diamond with excellent polish and symmetry. Had it placed into a classic white gold setting with 6 prongs. I absolutely love the diamond I decided on and the setting. James Allen was quick to respond through the entire process and changed my order several times with no issues. When my ring arrived it was secure in the gift box with the certificate and appraisal. I would shop here again as the process was smooth and I’ve been told from jewelers I have the best oval diamond they’ve seen, ever - for the price I paid. I cannot stop looking at it! ;)

    I was looking to do an engagement ring renewal and did a ton of research on many different jewelry stores & websites and I finally decided on James Allen and I am so glad I did. They were so easy to work with and the customer service was top notch! I chose to use the ring studio because I wanted to design something unique and it was so easy & fun to use. They sent me a fed-ex label and I sent my engagement ring to them. I was nervous of course but everything went off without a hitch. My ring they designed for me came out perfect and better then I had expected. It is super shiny and the diamonds are clear and sparkly. They sent both my new ring and my old setting back in record time and I am so extremely happy! I have attached photos of my old and new ring. Thank you James Allen for such an amazing experience. I am looking to buy a new wedding ring to match and I will definitely be using James Allen as they have several that match to choose from. I will be back James Allen, Thank you!

    My fiancé absolutely loved the ring and we've been getting many compliments from everyone. I got the 0.9 ct diamond with the 6 prong 14k rose gold setting and it looked amazing. The diamond looked big on my fiancé's finger. One guy who used to work with diamonds even said that I "must've spent more than 2 months worth of paycheck on the ring" (I didn't :P). It's also nice that the price also includes the engraving. The online ordering process in JA was easy and helpful. I love that you can see the diamond in 360 degrees. I had hoped the online chat would allow you to see a video or more photos of the diamond but alas it didn't. Though you can ask questions in real-time which was nice. The ring took 2 weeks to process and around 5 business days to deliver to Vancouver, BC in Canada. Heads up you need to pay customs on it when the package is delivered. The box itself will be white and plain BUT after you pay the customs, the receipt WILL STATE THAT IT CONTAINS A RING so keep that in mind if you want to be discreet. Overall we're very happy with the ring and I can highly recommend JA to folks who want to order a ring from them.

    Couldn’t be happier with this purchase. I had never found a wedding band in any brick and mortar stores that I actually liked and wasn’t outrageously priced, so I never had one until almost 1 year after getting married. I was hesitant to order my wedding band online from JA (Even tho my husband got my engagement ring here also and I absolutely love it) but decided to go ahead and I’m so happy I did!! I am truly obsessed and get so many compliments! 2-2 on JA and cannot recommend enough :)

    We looked for a long time to buy the ring of my dreams and decided on James Allen. This was to be an anniversary gift. We ordered yellow gold to match my current wedding band and received white. In speaking to a supervisor they said I could send it back but I didn’t want to part w/it. We decided to buy the matching wedding band in white gold as well. Now I am just trying to get the right documentation to match the ring I received. I was told I couldn’t get a new invoice but they would send me a new appraisal reflecting white gold. I want that on James Allen stationary, not just a pdf. Six calls to try to straight this out I am still waiting. Hope you can help us.

    From a first time engagement ring buyer to a seasoned jeweled gift giver; I have to say that James Allen exceeded all of my expectations (and I’m not a newbie). Build a ring…easy. Buy it online…easy. Make multiple payments without layaway…super easy. Build day to receive in mail day…less than 3 weeks. All info you need to insure your purchase comes “in the box” and the “ring”, in my case, comes in a gorgeous shiny red box. Priced better than local and Blue Nile. I will be making all of my future purchases here. Quality was unreal.

    My husband let me design a ring to upgrade my engagement ring on our anniversary this year. I had dreamed of a marquise cut and after seeing a few in person, my heart was totally set. I got the vintage basket setting on a white gold solitaire band with a 0.63 carat F VS2 marquise cut diamond (8.94×4.46). I am a size 8.5 with considerably long fingers. I was so happy when it came in and was the perfect size. It looks so timeless and classic - absolutely my fairytale ring. It shipped exactly when it said it would and was overnight shipping! Overall, loved the experience of designing my ring online and being able to research and pick out my own diamond!!!

    Our experience with JA was great! Purchasing a ring online is often not how one would go about finding and making a decision on something so important but it worked out so well. We had found other places online and decided to go with JA. The website is easy to navigate and it allowed us to get an idea of the types of rings, styles, diamonds that are out there. We decided on visiting the JA store in Georgetown and there I was able to try on the styles I liked , was able to see the size of diamond for the ring and get a realistic feel of the ring. The staff there were extremely helpful. We left the store better informed and ready to go ahead with the one. I chose the Platinum Pave Halo cushion emerald and chose a cushion 0.55 art G VVSS2 VG Diamond and the matching pave thin band. The ring is absolutely beautiful and the diamonds very sparkly. It came a lovely JA Box and 2 small red ring boxes. well packaged and delivered to our door within a day of shipment. the whole process took a month after we had ordered. Im in love with my ring and have received so many compliments . I would highly recommend JA

    I haven't had the honor of going to the actual store but I ordered online. I customized a diamond rose band and half carat oval diamond. Color E and Internally Flawless. The cut and everything is great. I also really like the box it comes with that carries information about the ring. I'm very happy with what came and so is she. The online process was also very great. No unanswered questions and any doubt met with professionalism and truth. I'm sure this won't be the last time I order.

    We were nervous to order online from James Allen after reading some reviews on different platforms. I have not had to use the warranty so I can't speak to that. We recieved the ring with no issues. It looks even better in person! I forgot to add the inscription at purchase but talked to chat support and they were able to add it for me. Everything comes in a pretty big magnetic box. Upon opening the ring is seen in a shiny red box. There is a pull out drawer that included all of the information, certificate, cleaning cloth and the free diamond earings during the promotion. Very excited about the price as it had everything we were looking for at a fraction of the cost of comparable rings.

    I wanted to buy my wife a yellow, heart-shaped diamond ring, and I just typed that exact phrase into Google. Of all the results that came up, the James Allen ring was by far the best! I had never heard of J.A. so after I googled them and saw they had fantastic reviews, I decided to complete the purchase. The entire order process was so smooth and the website keeps you informed every step of the way! I cannot recommend them enough! And my wife LOVED the ring!! :)

    My ring is beyond beautiful! I couldn’t love it more!! It is so sparkly and I am staring at it in different light all day long!!!! I have the matching wedding band and my center stone is 1.41, VS1, G color lab. You would not be disappointed in any way!!!! Great to work with.

    More beautiful in person! We purchased this ring as a graduation gift for our daughter who completed her masters degree. We wanted to give her something to celebrate her accomplishment! The university’s colors are blue and white and the white gold of the ring and and sapphire stone are a perfect representation. We know she will love it (and if she doesn’t, I’d be happy to keep it😉).

    We ordered my dream ring online and it is absolutely stunning! We got so much more for our money than if we had bought in another store. You can even have someone review the diamond you'd like. The ring was shipped to me within days. The packaging was so professional it made it that more special. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!

    Terrible nightmare! I never received the ring. It was stolen either at the James Allen facility or by FedEx. James Allen customer service is not helpful. They have not credited my account or sent a replacement. They are saying their process could take weeks. They are also asking me to file a police report (which I can't do on the phone and will have to take time out of my day to go to the police department) even though the ring wasn't taken from me--it was stolen before it was even delivered! I was skeptical about having an expensive ring mailed, but expected James Allen had it figured out. Apparently, however, they don't, and they don't have a system to make sure the ring you order is delivered. Buyer beware!

    I love the fact that the return was easy and free to me. What I did not like was the time it took to get my ring back when they determined that it was in fact, the right stone. It was delayed a week and I think they could do better on returning the product back to the Customer. You kind of feel like when you spend $3000 you should have your ring back more timely. Other than that I do love the ring. The only thing I questioned was that it is was hard to determine if the stone is actually the one I purchased due to the setting.

    Was in the market for an engagement ring and wedding band for a replacement of my wife’s lost ring. Scoured the internet for a place I could order one from. After all my research, James Allen seemed to be what I was looking for. I was a bit skeptical spending so much money sight unseen from a website, so I called to to speak to an actual person to get a feel of the place. The staff was very knowledgeable and answered the phone every time I called. This made me feel comfortable ordering from them. Ended up ordering an engagement ring, diamond and a custom made to match wedding band and without exaggerating it arrived a couple days prior to their estimated date and it is absolutely perfect. Would absolutely order from them again, and actually the wife was so happy with it that she asked what other jewelry they sell. Good luck with your search, if you see the one you like on this website, it looks as good in person as the photos show.

    First, let me say how surprised I was by the James Allen packaging. It was so robust, and well designed. Second, my ring is absolutely gorgeous! Everytime I'm out, I receive compliments. The diamond I selected is so sparkly, I have to be careful not to shine it in anyone's general eye direction. It's like a disco ball in the sun. Third, the craftsmanship is excellent. I had no concerns purchasing online, the 360-degree representation was spot on.

    For our 10th anniversary, my husband and I purchased the below ring as something for me to wear that is lower profile than my original set. I was able to track the progress from purchase to my ring being delivered every step of the way, which was fantastic. Their initial estimate was that the ring would be delivered in 3 weeks, but I had it within 2 which (of course) made me happy. Not to mention that the ring itself is absolutely gorgeous - these pictures do not do it justice.

    For our 25 anniversary my husband wanted to upgrade my diamond. Being from Canada we found out very very quickly that our options were very limited. So after doing a ton of research James Allen kept coming up and the reviews were all positive. So I decided to try and I’m so glad I did! My ring is gorgeous!!! I was able to customize the surprise diamond to sapphire which for me was icing on the cake! I can’t stop admiring the sparkle. I’ve never had so much fun picking out a piece of jewelry before. One tip I would give to anyone from Canada considering this is FedEx was a bit of a nightmare. They don’t seem to ever know what’s going on. But it turned out I needed to have a very simple piece of paperwork done and pay $10 for them to become by broker. It was the people at James Allen and helped figure it all out!

    This was my first time buying jewelry online. The had the halo setting I was looking for. Interactive features were easy to use. I had more confidence picking a stone for the setting. Communication with customer service and the stone appraiser was fast and helpful. The site updates the status of the transaction, so you have an idea of when the ring will be ready. And shipping was FedEx overnight, which I had to sign for. Great packaging, ring case, set in a big white box, with a cloth, scope, and associated paperwork. The ring turned out perfect. My fiance loves it.

    This is by far the best and most pleasant company to buy fine jewelry from. The website is well designed, user friendly and easy to navigate. The merchandise is of excellent quality and offers something for every budget. The lead time was very reasonable, especially since many items are custom made. Customer service is professional, knowledgeable and very helpful. And they answer the phone in less than 1 minute! Even on weekends.     Choosing this beautiful diamond, and setting through James Allen has saved us lot of money! Buying a ring at a brick and mortar of this quality would have cost us so much more. Being able to choose the exact diamond you want, compare it to others, and being able to view it magnified and seeing the GIA reports was an amazing experience!     Magnificent beauty! So gorgeous, definitely one of a kind! Amazing quality and craftsmanship, and it looks even better in person. The ring comes in a very fancy box, and shipping was very fast, considering it first had to be crafted. For reference: the ring is 18K yellow gold, with a 1ct center diamond - G, VVS2, ideal cut, ring size - 5.5. I am in love with my ring, so much sparkle that I can’t take my eyes off of it, and I get lots of compliments! James Allen has exceeded my expectations!
