I went there for a COVID test, gave my insurance information and was told it was covered. Later I got a bill for $267 from UrgentCare. When I asked about this at the facility, they say that's between the billing department and my insurer and I need to call billing. In other words, they take no responsibility for misinforming me when I visited for the test. So, I call billing, no answer after waiting for some time. Then I call my insurer Aetna. They say that their agreement with UrgentCare is that UrgentCare cannot submit a COVID test billing code to them, only a general Urgent care code which isn't covered. In other words, UrgentCare knew that they cannot get COVID tests covered by Aetna, but still told me that I could. Basically, lying to bring in customers who could just as easily have got a COVID that nearby where it would have been covered. And I'm stuck with the $267 bill. It is really unethical business practice.

LOCATION: 199 AMSTERDAM AVENUE: If you have a child with special needs, stay clear of this place. Today I took my disabled daughter to this urgent care and was denied service for my daughter who was in pain because the front desk did not know how to handle her particular insurance which is issued by the Social Security administration, an insurance that is listed on their website and the same insurance they accepted two months ago, which they billed and were paid for services. An inept front desk is detrimental for business as well as for patients who need care. I write this review with great pain in my heart. I've seldom had my child be treated so poorly and as the parent of a child with special needs, not being able to have access to needed medical care for a kid that lacks verbal expression makes me so sad, and makes me believe there is little hope to be found in this world. I mean if you can't find compassion in a medical institution, then were can you find it. Are you practicing medicine, are you healing or are you just another money hungry corporation? I should also mention that I was never given the option to see a doctor and be billed for services if indeed the insurance did not cover said bill. Maybe I didn't have the right look. Maybe I looked too poor to pay a bill.

$701 Covid test, what?!? Got charged $550 urgent care visit, and $151 for the Covid test. I was told my Aetna insurance would cover it. I called and they said the $550 urgent care fee is correct. This is unethical. Now I'm stuck with a $267 bill. Thanks Northwell, never again.

Poorly managed the wait time is extremely long. The optional to hold your spot and checking in online means nothing. I waited over an hour to be seen- I scheduled a visit for 6:15pm was seen at 7:30pm. They only had one provider an NP. Management, knowing it’s allergies season and a weekend should have scheduled an additional provider.

I came in with a tiny piece of glass in my foot, wanted it removed. They offered me a shot (tetnus?) and said they can't do anything without an x-ray. So, did the x-ray, and then they told me the x-ray shows nothing. So, I walked away having gotten no help. Then I went to CityMD a block away, got seen by a doctor who brought his instruments right away. No x-ray, no shot, he just worked on me until he got the glass out. I will not be a returning customer.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I went in for a test on 8/27/21. They took a swab, decided to just not test it, and didn’t tell me. 3 days later I finally called and they told me “oh, well they just threw it out”. I went on for another test and then was sent a bill. I have been in communication with them currently (6/1/22) since I recorded the bill in September, and they just keep telling me “oh it’s in review”, “it’s being escalated”, “we have a high volume”. It is the most disgusting, incompetent level of service I’ve ever seen in my entire life. It is so unacceptable that it is almost a year for them to figure out that I should not have received a second bill for their technician’s mistake. This borderlines on negligence. Go to any other urgent care because “urgent” or “care” is definitely not in their name.

This place comes thru for me. I feel like it’s on par w nysc. Is it gross? Yes- it’s not clean and feels like a 7/11 for health issues but we are nyers. You want a primary care doc and a long caring relationship go elsewhere. You need help tomorrow? Make an appt online (super easy) and come here.

Every time I tried to call to ask if they offered a particular rapid test they hung up. I went through the phone tree, it rang, connected, I heard some background noise, and was disconnected about one second later. I took my business elsewhere.

I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I was seen and how efficient and friendly the staff were. Hopefully I won’t need to come back but if needed I would return here. Reminder, this is an urgent care, not a full blown ER so they are limited in what they can do but I would encourage people to come here for minor issues instead of an ER.

My experience at 199 Amsterdam Ave. Northwell Urgent care on 12/28/23👎 In my life, I have never been treated with so much disrespect. I have Northwell Direct as my medical insurance. Therefore, to be within network I decided to seek medical treatment at this facility. I was finally seen by a non-caring Medical Practitioner, not the real doctor on Duty. And he couldn't care less about my health nor my symptoms. The young lady at the front desk couldn't have been more disengaged as well. If I state my entire experience on this review, it would be way too long.. What a bad experience. Northwell Direct, you should not be in business.

The nurse practitioner was condescending and rude. While waiting to be seen in the room, I could hear her speaking rudely about patients in the hallway. When I interacted with her personally she was condescending and unhelpful. I do not recommend coming here.

Amazing care for a painful cyst on my back while I was visiting from out of town. Dr. Flores went above and beyond to make sure it was fully cleaned out, all with a sense of humor. I feel very confident recommending GoHealth to my parents if they need urgent care while visiting the city.

The staff was fantastic. Each and every one from the receptionist, the medical technicians and physician were excellent. Very caring and professional. I felt very much cared for. I've used your services in the past and can attest that your work is excellent. I've recommended you to several people.

A complete waste of time and money! The next time I am sick I will stay home open WebMD on my computer and light $75 on fire. That will be more productive than going to see the NP at Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care. I went to urgent care because I had a cough for over two weeks that wasn’t getting better. Because I had had surgery a month prior to this visit the health care staff insisted that I had a life threatening PE and needed to go to the ER. Without even an examination for other signs of a blood clotting or running a COVID test. After an extremely long and expensive night in the ER I was diagnosed with an mild case of generic upper respiratory infection. My Surgeon and the ER Doctors were appalled that the urgent care couldn’t diagnose this and that I had to go through 7 hours in the ER. If you’re thinking of going here my recommendation would be to just swing by Northwell Health - GoHealth Urgent Care and drop off your copay at the front desk on your way to see a real medical professional. That would be a better use of your time and cause you less harm.

Everyone I came in contact with was pleasant, polite, knowledgeable, and informative. I didn't have an appointment, but when I explained why it was important for me to get tested that day, they worked me I'm. I am very appreciative. I have already recommended this urgent care to several people.

My husband had an infected thumb which was very painful and about to burst. Gohealth sent us to Lennox hill emergency to get it punctured (literally 1 cut, a bandaid and it’s done). The ER md -also a go health staff- was extremely surprised this wasn’t handled in the urgent care as this is exactly what they are for. The doctor in the urgent care didn’t give any reason why he couldn’t help and just brushed him off in pain to go somewhere else. We realize the location was about to close which might have played a role for a lazy doctor? The front desk staff is always unfriendly for no reason. I do not recommend this place. They need a front desk team overhaul and better service culture among their medical staff.

Dangerously negligent. I came to urgent care after a nut allergy incident that required an Epipen. The receptionist callously told me to sign in and wait for the next opening as I developed hives and struggled to breathe. After a 30min wait I saw a "doctor" who promptly told me that they weren't authorized to administer any drugs but would recommend me to an ambulance to an ER. No one could have told me this sooner? I received a $50 bill for this sage medical advice which I was told would be voided but ended up paying anyway lest I be sent to collections in the future.

There were two wonderful ladies there to greet us at the front desk. Cristine and Aneea made our experience pleasant instead of scary... thanks for having great professionals up front ! These girls deserve a raise, they made my husband and I very comfortable and safe in an uncertain environment.

The staff and provider were awesome. They were so sweet, and even offered to let me borrow scrubs and an umbrella due to the heavy rains. It was the best medical treatment and bedside manner I've received in a very long time. Your kindness reinvigorated my passion to go into medicine. Thank you all so much!

They took me right away and everyone was so nice and truly cared. My only issue Is the follow up on lab work. No information about how to get it? Or how to get blood work results to me and or my primary care doctor.

    1) If you are looking for a quick turnaround, please don’t come to this location. It’s not worth the risk especially you have traveling plans! They promised that rapid PCR usually takes 2 hours. It’s been 6 days and I haven’t received any result from my test. 2) Also the front desk rarely picks up the phone here. When I tried to ask staff questions in person, I got cut off without being able to finish a sentence. 3) Your appointment time doesn’t mean anything. There was an elderly patient who waited to get tested for 1.5 hours even if she made an appointment. The front desk then forgot they checked her in already. Highly recommend GoHealth on 1st Ave in UES. They are friendly, competent, and efficient.

The worst experience ever at an urgi care. The front desk staff is unknowable and has an attitude. As a walk in, I received a text message stating my waiting time would be 5.5 hours. When I asked if that was accurate, I get a lecture about how I should register online rather than a yes or no. I’ve gone to this site for years and the commitment to patient experience is knot reflected in their front desk staff.

Went today at the urgent care clinic on West 69 st location. First impression, it was packed, very busy, but the front desk was on top of their game and I only waited for about 40-45mins which was a decent wait time considering that their system was down. Front desk/MA assisted me to the exam room and in about 10-15mins, PA came in. First off, he didnt even introduce his name when he came to the room and just literally asked what was my main complaint (which was kind of off to start with) and told him my symptoms. He then ordered a strep throat rapid test to confirm if I had any infection on my throat. First test, it tested negative. I was almost 100% certain that all I needed was antibiotics to get myself treated, but Mario Santiago (the PA) insisted that I had viral pharyngitis. Then I told him to repeat the test, second testing was done, it tested positive. The PA knocked on the door and immediately asked for my pharmacy without even discussing the results with me in private. He then gave me a wrong pharmacy location and told him that this was the right pharmacy location that I intended. The PA was ready to discharge me and just automatically assumed to not talk to his patient with regards to the medication, results, and discharge instructions which I find so UNPROFESSIONAL. When this PA almost misdiagnosed me with viral pharyngitis, that was already alarming, but to not explain to your patient what happened with the said results and what-not is beyond unethical and such an embarrassment. To conclude, I would not recommend going to this location and just see your trusted PCP or hospital.

I booked a spot for 9:15 am (April 2022) and was seen by a nurse after just a few minutes. Dr. Flores saw me soon after, spoke with me about my symptoms, and was able to diagnose my ailment. He was both professional and personal, and my prescriptions were called in within 30 minutes. Clean office, courteous woman at the front desk, highly recommend Northwell at W 69th St and Amsterdam.

I went in with a sore throat and a cough, saying I wanted to make sure it’s not strep. The staff were all very nice, and they gave me a strep test that came back negative and told me that assuming my COVID test comes back negative (it did), it’s a cold. I left feeling like “bummer I had to spend $40 on a copay to find out that I have a cold but better to know…” But then I started thinking about the fact that no one listened to my chest. I thought that was weird, especially since I came in complaining of a COUGH, so we asked my boyfriend’s friend who is a doctor. His response was: “I'll say this. She comes in with toe pain, I'm listening to her chest." 😂😂😂😂 but also 😒😒😒😒 So now I’m not even sure if I saw a doctor at all. Someone, I’m assuming a nurse, took my vitals and gave me the strep test. Then someone in scrubs (another nurse? A doctor? Who can say?) came in to tell me that he didn’t think it was strep because coughing indicates that it’s not strep (ok, noted for next time) but they’re running it anyway. He left and returned to tell me that the strep test was negative, and that was it. Don’t recommend unfortunately.

I visited this location when I was feeling ill with what turned out to be an upper respiratory infection. Wait time with an appointment was 10 minutes. Staff I interacted with were kind, courteous and thorough. Melissa Kim is a knowledgeable healthcare provider who communicates well. Paid 200$ to be rushed away and not even being able to see the doctor. Rude nurse practitioner “took care” of my husband so that we had to go to another clinic to be treated normally.

Their system doesn't accept international phone numbers as a contact detail and despite repeatedly telling them I can't access my results on the app they continue to upload them there and refuse to send another way. The only way to access the app / portal is to log in with your number! The lady on reception said just give me any number so I gave her the hotel reception number which means I can't access any of my records now. Also the information I gave them about my injury was incorrectly translated into my record. The person I gave the info to was just scrawling it on a post it so I am not surprised. Didn't seem very professional.

Everyone from front desk to doctor were very kind and patient. I had trouble getting information into the system, which is probably due to my ineptness. The young lady at the desk was so helpful and made me laugh.

Abysmal customer service. I have billing questions and the representative either pretends not to hear and hangs up, or hangs after taking my information. There are plenty of other options around us, I do not recommend Northwell Health.

This was my go-to urgent care for many years but this place has gone downhill. My last two experiences have been awful. I had an appointment scheduled for 9:45a and arrived at 9:30a. I waited 90 minutes to be told the guy who took my ID and was supposed to check me in, didn’t actually check me in. Instead he took a 90 minute break (they had only been open for 90 minutes) and didn’t tell anyone else that I needed to be checked in. I understand it’s an urgent care. It’s possible that more important issues will come up and those people need to be seen first but that wasn’t the case here. It was because of the incompetent and rude staff at reception. Once I got into the exam room, it was gross and could have used a good cleaning. Not what you want to see in an exam room. When the nurse came in, she checked me out and gave me my diagnosis, which was a new diagnosis for me. I didn’t know what it meant or what the treatment entailed, so I had a few questions. She kept trying to leave the room without answering my questions. She literally opened the door three times in the middle of me asking a question. I went to another urgent care because I didn’t trust this one and I was right. That doctor diagnosed me, answered all my questions and informed me of additional steps that I had to do. The nurse at Northwell didn’t tell me any of that information. There are so many other options in the city, go to them and don’t waste your time here.

Every single person I encountered was amazingly kind. This was a wonderful experience. The receptionist is competent and so appealing and personable. She really worked to smooth my path. One assistant to doctor was very kind (catching the X-ray guy before he left). The X-ray doctor was friendly and upbeat. He was fun. The nurse who took info about my meds and history was very nice. Then another assistant nurse said she would arrange a cd of my X-ray and agreed to coordinate with radiology to have clear message on the report. I must say, the entire group was a slice of Heaven. I wish I could hug them all.
