The building itself is amazing, out of this world. Google the history, it is very interesting. I visited during the pandemic and was quite empty. The guards were incredibly rude, they would not let us take even one picture of the lobby from the entrance door. The low point of the visit, for sure. I managed to take one which I am uploading.

Spectacular landmark building by architect Cass Gilbert. This was the highest building in the world from 1913 to 1930, when it was replaced by the Chrysler Building (only to be replaced one year later by the Empire State Building). Elaborately detailed exterior and interior. The only serious bummer is that "tourists" are discouraged from exploring the beautiful lobby.

This is historically the first skyscraper of New York City, the famous Woolworth Building. Very well maintained, with a touch of history and modernity. Guided tour is available for this place. I didn't know that photography wasn't allowed inside the building. I just took few pictures before I was stopped, which I'm sharing here.

One of the most striking skyscrapers of an early 20 century era along with the Empire State building and Chrysler. Terrific Gothic style high rise of a trade magnate close to NYC City Hall and its park, as well the Brooklyn bridge.

I worked in this building for several years. Before then, I worked in another Wall Street area building for years where I could see the copper roof and all the Gothic gargoyles. It was the tallest building in the world from 1913 when it was finished until 1930 when the Chrysler building surpassed it. So I was excited when my company moved there. The lobby is beautiful. It is dark- the facilities manager explained that it tried to keep the original feel and to highlight the sunshine which came in through the stained glass windows. The inside is almost reminiscent of a church. In fact, I read that it was designed almost as a temple to modern commerce. That said, the offices in the building are old and not very well maintained. We had leaks and mold in our office. But for a visitor, it’s worth a visit. You must book a tour because it’s not open to the public.

An architectural marvel. All of the carvings on the Woolworth buildings exterior was all hand made. No pre-fab b.s.! & inside is just as classy & ornate. I put it up with the green & black marble in the Chryster building which is another architectural marvel!

Probably one of the most beautiful buildings in Manhattan. Now it has a residential portion with high end condominiums. Next door to the four seasons and across from City Hall park. The Woolworth building is a classic New York Icon.

The tour we were on took us through various areas of the lobby and basement. The building itself was absolutely phenomenal with rich history and character. The history of how it was built and the character of Woolworth himself was very interesting. If you get a chance to go on the tour please sign up and enjoy the magic that is the Woolworth Building.

Without a doubt the most beautiful skyscraper in the world. It might not be the tallest, but what it lacks in height it more than makes up for in architectural beauty. Cass Gilbert has created a true masterpiece of a building. It is truly wonderful to look at and walk around and admire.

Beautiful building. Old New York Architecture. One thing the elevators are very small. That is because elevators were not prevalent at the time it was built.

If you ever get the opportunity to go inside the Woolworth Building please look down at the beautiful, well kept marble floors, then look up and see the marvelously handcrafted gargoyle moldings on the walls. You will be in awe.

Architecture you couldn't duplicate in these days without spending an enormous amount of capital per square ft for this fine artistry and craftsmanship.

A gorgeous and stately building from the gilded age. It's a marvelous building with a lot of history and historicity. Woolworth was a chain of Department stores. The only thing left of it is Foot Locker. It's in perhaps the most beautiful part of Manhattan

Worked 19th floor from 2007 to 2020. Great historical building to walk into for anything, whether that is work, a dental procedure or to see your lawyer.

Absolutely historical NYC Building. Nowadays there are offices, doctors offices, lawyers, etc. The elevators sure have a way of reminding you what era the building is from and that's putting it nicely!

At one point there were courthouses and Judges had chambers rented here. One notable case here was White Star Line (aka Titanic) - the get off easy and barely had to pay anything! surprise surprise
