Yes, it is made somewhat famous by being the major set piece and backdrop for the television show Law & Order but many of us who live in New York County know it as one of the court houses where we go to serve on jury duty every five years. Whether visiting on purpose as a tourist or on jury duty or other county-related business sans handcuffs you owe it to yourself to walk into the central rotunda and take a few minutes to stare up at the art adorning it. Beautiful, even if a somewhat dated painting style. Doubtful there will ever be another courthouse built quite like it. Keep in mind though, you CANNOT take photos inside the building. Check out my photo of a poster of the rotunda art for a preview.

Had a fantastic time, went to see it on a trip to NYC with my friend as I’ve grown up watching Law & Order. Can safely say it did not disappoint, even though we couldn’t sit in on any trials due to the Covid-19 situation. Staff was very nice in informing us that it should open back up to the public next week, and even though I will no longer be in the city, I will be sure to come back again. 10/10 time would definitely recommend.

My divorce was in 3 different counties in New York State. I fell through the cracks of the system the divorce took almost 10 years. The court staff here was professional they made sure I filed legally and correctly at the county clerks as self represented. My 1st lawyer dropped my case due to stress she couldn’t handle what was happening to me. My last lawyer used this against me in court as if I was a bad person. The judge here understood the truth and he thought he was helping me by transferring my case to Orange County. I really suffered immense pain being displaced out there. Every legal abuse you can image from due process of the law being denied down to my own records being sealed against me. I tried to fire my lawyer but was denied and my case files were held hostage. But the worst part was being threatened that my kids would be taken away if I didn’t agree to the coerced oral stipulation. The judge threatened me that she better never ever see me inside her court house ever again! Beyond all bounds of decency and they intentionally inflicted emotional distress on a victim. These people covered up my ex-husbands crimes of violence. They acted like I was the bad person.

This structure is SO incredible, the New York County Supreme Court building is absolutely iconic (and not just because it’s been featured as a filming site for Law & Order SVU). It’s worth a look when you’re in Lower Manhattan. While you’re in the area, you can walk Center Street before heading to One World Trade Center and other New York City landmarks!

I arrived at 11:30am on a Tuesday, and there was no line. Was sent to another place 10 min walk away to get the correct notary. Came back and the lady let my skip the line, so I was able to get everything done in less than 10 min. Staff was friendly.

Judge Arthur Moron Engoron in my opion is as stupid as he looks. And his crybaby Clerk Allison is even worse. He needs to learn the value of property. He has no business being a judge. He needs to go work for the circus cause he's a clown and his clerk can go live off of Chuck Schumer. Is he going to order me to remove this review??? Lmao. I have no respect for these democratic justices. I'll blast this all over social media. Put a gag order on this. Lmfao

🇺🇸 🗽 🎄 Season's 🎁 Greetings ❄ ⛄ Happy ☃️ Holidays 🎄 & A ❄ ⛄ Happy New Year 🎄 20. ☃️ 🇱🇷🗽 The US Passport Acceptance Agency located in the New York County Supreme Court Building at 60 Center Street is in Room 160. The New York County Supreme Court Building is registered as a Landmark from the Neoclassical era. It is very impressive on the outside as it is on the inside. The US Passport Acceptance Agency is only open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 2 pm. They do accept passport renewals at this location, but it seemed to me that it is on a case to case determination from my observations when I was there 07/09/2019. So either check with their website or by telephone before heading down there with your specific needs.

WITH WHAT,S GOING ON TODAY WITH LANDLORD AND TENANTS, THIS IS CAUSING LANDLORDS TO LOOSE THEIR HOMES THAT THEY WORK SO HARD TO BUY BECAUSE THE SYSTEM IS ON THE TENANT SIDE. LET THE TENANT BRING THEIR TAX RETURN TO COURT AND YOU WILL FIND OUT WHAT GAMES THE TENANTS ARE PLAYING.

The work here is organized optimal way, I spent more time getting in through the post than getting stamp inside. People are friendly and nice. Architecture inside is worth seeing.

The clerks are typically very nice, however, they need a better system. The lines can be over two hours long with only 2, maybe 3 Clerks working while the others seem to sit around.

If you have the chance to see this place, go and take your souvenir picture outside. This is the place of democracy and the New York City supreme court.

Nice people, they take the time with explanations putting jury duty in correct perspective. Institutions like these make America what it is.

Iconic and classic American courthouse. Considering how many times it has appeared on television and in high-profile places, it is well worth seeing.

This is a STATE court house. It was built to replace the Boss Tweed Courthouse which was too connected to corruption to be used as a courthouse. In the front of the building you can find a George Washington inscription.
