Beginners don’t go there. I was looking to purchase my first set of clubs, and I visited the store hoping to get some good advise and hopefully purchase my first set of clubs from the store. No one cares about beginners in this store. I was left along desperately looking for help in the second floor of the store for more than 20 minutes, and no one offered any help, except one guy who, after I complained over and over by the lack of help, gave me one iron club which was obviously too long for me and told me to try it at the simulator. I was left along in the simulator booth for another 20 minutes, when all salespersons were watching another experienced player play in the other simulator. No one came to help!! I was actively seeking help, telling them that I was a beginner looking for my first set, but all of the salespersons just told me to wait and never came back to help me.

I went to this shop with my pregnant wife today so i don’t have much time to choose and buy my new clubs, so my impression and experience is over all very good services , my sales person his name is frank, i like him because he doesn’t talk much and gave me everything that i need , very recommended if you’re looking for good quality golf clubs and everything, definitely i will come back again..

The best fitting I’ve ever had. Frank Cole is absolutely terrific and knowledgeable. He helped me immensely with my Ping 425 irons as well a 425 Max driver. Thanks for suggesting Cleveland wedges as well. Looking forward to the best scoring season of my life! Thanks a million!

I have purchased a number of clubs and putters from NY Golf Center 35th Street over the last few years - and have been impressed with the business. But today's visit was even more exceptional than ever. I had around 20 various clubs that needed service from re-gripping, to loft/lie adjustment, to repairs. Marcus did an excellent job of sifting through pile of clubs and meticulously notating them in their computer and getting them set for the repair work. Extremely pleasant and detailed gentleman. I had two Ping clubs that had become broken due to sheared screws. Mohmed the manager assisted me on these, calling Ping and handling the warranty request. Ping denied the warranty because it was last season's model, but Mohmed was able to get an exception, and repairs will be covered by Ping! Super pleasant gentleman and a real asset to the store. The interaction with these two store representatives is what sets NY Golf Center apart from the big-box giants like PGA and Galaxy.. Marcus and Mohmed really bring home the local vibe of this golf store, very personable, and vested in the success of the business, and committed to doing things well and right for customers. NY Golf Center highly recommended for any of your golf gear needs.

I have to agree with one of the comments saying this place is not beginner friendly. Me myself as a starter went today to shop for my very first clubs. Had an Asian gentlemen on the second floor helped me. He’s nice yet not nice, in a way that he didn’t want to spend one extra second explain to me about the differences and nuances btw various clubs. I was actually debating whether to get a single or a set to start practicing my swings even if we have to preorder something, and yet he managed to completely shut me off from talking further by giving short answers to my questions like “it depends” or “everyone is different”. Then he walked away when there’s no one waiting to be helped besides me. Well, do we all know that “everyone is different”. If I were a pro knowing exactly what I want, I’ll simply shop online or get fitted. Why do I have to go to you? Maybe this place assumes starters are not big buyers. who knows. I will never come back again.

I worked with Dan Forman over the phone today, troubleshooting a credit card terminal issue, as the merchant services provide with The Bart Group. While we were on hold with the Help Desk, I heard Dan multi-tasking, gladly assisting customers but more impressively, I heard him encourage and give positive feedback to employees more than once. Retail is one of the hardest, and sometimes most thankless jobs, and little comments like “You’re doing a great job” go a long way. As an outsider, it was nice to hear and hope everyone at NYGC and all employees agree.

It was an excellent experience for me. The sales person was very helpful and informative. I had adequate demo before buying my staffs. Now I want to come NY from my far away place just for the golf shopping from this paradise of golf equipment.

I had an excellent experience getting fit for a new driver by Tyler. It was an efficient and thorough process. At no point did I feel pressured to do anything by him. He is truly a fitter first and was extremely knowledgeable about the products we tested. I would recommend him to anyone that needs a fitting and will continue to do business with him in the future.

Went in to upgrade my almost 20 year old Mizuno irons. Daniel (believe that is his name) helped me with the difference in the newer irons and let me hit as many balls as I’d like. He then suggested to review other brands but I preferred the Mizuno. I purchased the JPX923 forged and couldn’t be happier. Great services

Went into the store on a Thursday afternoon and jay set me up with a full set that I wanted to buy for a weekend golf trip. I spent we an hour in the simulator trying out different clubs. Jay answered all my questions and had good insight on what would work best for me.

I was in the market for women’s golf shoes and looked around the city on where to go. Found golf city and am glad I did! Mohmed, Dan and Brian were very helpful and knowledgeable with helping me select a shoe. They also have a great women’s selection which can be very hard to find! Amazing service from the top down. Dan Forman, the GM of the store, helped me with a broken TMade driver that was under warranty. After verifying the damage and he called TMade right away and did the warranty right over the phone. Not only, did he immediately process the warranty on my behalf, but because the head that I needed was back ordered through TMade through February (!) which would've been an over 5 month wait, he gave me the head I needed and was due under the warranty from his in store stock! Something he did not have to do. Made my day and truly phenomenal services and a great guy. Thanks again, Dan!

Dan is the Man! Head to NY Golf Center! This review is a few months overdue, but had to make sure I posted it after my experience at the NYGC. Over the Summer I was getting ready to play in a tournament over 4th of July weekend, the only problem was that I had completely snapped the shaft on my driver about a week-and-a-half prior. I rushed to NYGC with low expectations, thinking there was no way I could get things fixed given the time frame, but I quickly knew I had come to the right place once I was greeted by Dan Forman, the General Manager. I told Dan what had happened, and that I needed a new shaft ASAP. After some questions, some research on the computer, and some phone calls, Dan was able to get me a replacement shaft that would arrive within a week, completely covered under the original club warranty!! I asked again and again if the shaft would be ready in time for my tournament, Dan guaranteed that the shaft would arrive, and be ready, or he would make sure there was one I could use temporarily for the tournament. I could then return afterward to have the rental shaft swapped out for the new shaft. To my surprise, when I returned to NYGC a few days later, the shaft had arrived, my driver head was installed, and I was ready to go for the tournament. Unbelievable service and turnaround time. My new go-to for anything golf related in Manhattan. Thanks Dan and NYGC!!

I think you have to write on your store that you sell for rich and white people only, this is the second time I go to this store and I keep look to find someone to help but no one care and the reason that I am not white person at the same time the white man who work there once he see a white guy getting in the store he run to ask him hi and if you need help let me know! you doing business in NYC and you should respect everyone we do have money the same as white with my respect for all race ,

Low-pretense oasis in the big city where IRL golf shopping is cursed. I highly recommend seeing Charles upstairs for club fitting + purchase advice. As a woman, I find myself frequently patronized (or invisible) when I am trying to *spend money* on golf equipment; here I feel like any other player looking for stuff to improve my game + as an athlete that is exactly what I want. Been a couple times now + I will stay a loyal customer.

Decided to come in and check out New York Golf Center after my friend had a positive experience here buying a set of clubs. Had a great experience shopping for some new irons here. I have been playing gold for almost 30 years and still using the irons I grew up playing with. The gentleman who helped me find some great player irons was extremely helpful and helped me really narrow down the selection. He was patient with me and really helped me find the right clubs. It was quiet for a Sunday morning (7/17/22) because the British Open was on, so I really got to get a good feel for some irons that suited my swing. It was tough call between Mizuno JPX 921s or Ping i525s, I ultimately went with the Mizuno JPX 921 forged iron set, but it was splitting hairs. I would highly recommend the New York Golf Center for your gold needs, the staff and facilities really let you make the right choice! I am going to be looking for a new driver soon and will come back on a Sunday to work with the same Rep.

Got a brand new set of irons from there and my man Jay was just what I needed. Attentive to my needs, likes/dislikes and everything in-between. Definitely will be going to him again with any further needs.

I have been a long time customer and enjoy going into the 35th Street store. In each department you are welcomed and their knowledgeable team is available for assistance. Most recently, I missed placed a gift card - with min information/ purchased in 2019. I went into the store and Dan Forman spent approx 25 minutes searching for in their data base (no luck). Dan provided me with his business card and said ro reach out if I had additional info. To make a long story short; I emailed Dan a week later, Dan responded immediately by calling me. On the phone, he was able to match a purchase with my gift card. “Needle in a Hay Stack”. I appreciate Dan’s efforts. THANK YOU.

I went into the shop today with my family as they needed a new set of clubs. Everyone was so welcoming to me and Dan took extra care of us. He was so wonderful from the moment we arrived till we left. He even gave me a treat! Will definitely be back for all of my families golfing needs.

Big selection a lot to offer black female sales person was very helpful and friendly with a bubbly personality but ,there was an energy of racial profiling from the white Male sales person. I noticed he wasn't following anyone else around. I've made a big purchase in the past and may or may not revisit in the future we must do better as humans.

I had a great experience at NYGC this past week. What stood out to me the most was their wide selection of products coupled with excellent customer service. Mohmed approached me shortly after I walked in. He guided me through the entire store and helped me find everything I needed for my round a few days later. He also made sure that I had input into the selection of products and made sure I had a lot of fun while shopping. When it came time for clothing, Vivian was a great help as well. She knew current style, sizing and was able to quickly move between me and multiple other customers without feeling rushed. Thank you!
