This is another "typical "(in a good sense) Manhattan's fooftop. You will get the food, the drink and of course the view. My only complaint is their food menu is rather simple and more like a finger food. It is tasty, but if you are looking to combine rooftop and dinner, then you probably need to consider this. Reservation is preferable especially if you want to seat outside.

Solid upbeat vibes and the food also matched the hype. Pizza was delicious and the calamari was one of the best. The steak was on point as a main dish. Great place for drinks at the bar as well.

Great location, we weren't able to stay long and just stopped in for a drink but wish we could have stayed until dark to see the lights on the empire state building. Cute place with lots of little features all over, really nice atmosphere. Definitely make a reservation if you're going for dinner. There is a long wait if you don't.

The refinery rooftop at the refinery hotel is a great spot for food and drinks. The rooftop patio Terrace gives off garden green room vibes in the heart of the city with a view of the Empire State building. They have a solid cocktail menu - the Duke being a juicy bourbon offering. Don’t sleep on the Sushido peppers as a starter. The sliders and grilled chicken club sandwich were delicious but the chicken and waffles and the French toast on their brunch menu are where it’s at. The service by Mackenzie was awesome. Highly recommend checking this spot out.

Roof top bar with decent food. They weren’t busy when we visited so all the dishes were served at once which made it hard for us to eat it warm. Would have been nice if they served it one at a time so we could have enjoyed everything while it was warm. The amount was way too much for 2 people but they let us get a doggy bag so all good.

The food was good, I was quite surprised with the calamari, it was different here. 🍹 we're very good. The atmosphere was more like a club, this is not the place for quiet dinner but meant for having fun with friends. I knew all the songs that were being played and loved it

The lady and the guy looking after the clients aren't doing a very good job. They don't seem hap put with their jobs. Nice venue. Nice food. Nice drinks. Service just needs a little bit more... friendliness maybe?

One of the best rooftops in Manhattan with an amazing view of the beautiful and iconic Empire State Building. The best part about this rooftop is if you are a hotel guest then you can access it anytime with no reservation, you only need to tell the reception in advance that you will be attending that day. The food is phenomenal; the lobster roll and macaroni and cheese are to die for.

This place is a 3.5 stars to me. It's a rooftop bar, but hotel guests get priority (so I was told) and half the seating is actually inside, so not really a rooftop view. You are only 12 floors up, so you can see the Empire State building pretty well, but still from well below. The chairs inside are not comfortable folding, wooden patio chairs and the tables are tiny. The food is decent bar fare, but the cocktails are inconsistent. The first I ordered was phenomenal, but the second one (same drink) tasted a little different and was not as good. The atmosphere was nice enough, but I probably would not go back. There are nice restrooms and our server/service was good.

Made a reservation for 6 at 7:15 PM a week before. We get there and the hostess with glasses and long dark hair can’t find our reservation. I then show her our confirmation email She then says she had to give our table away because we were 15 minutes late. Sat us at a table with stools which were super uncomfortable, especially if you sit there 2 hours. Mind you it was a rainy Wednesday and most tables were empty. We had no place to put coats. The drinks were ok. The service average. The noise level average The ambiance nice. You get a view of the Empire State Building. The outdoor space is covered in the winter, but still felt cold. They do have a time limit which is enforced. Something to keep in mind if you are celebrating an event.

Great vibe, amazing atmosphere, companied with delicious food. The reason is at the roof of the Refinery hotel. It’s super packed during lunch hours, reservation is highly recommended. They have some tables inside, bit most of the dinning area is under the sun, with a open glass roof. The main attraction of the rooftop is Empire State Building. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with a nice bar in the middle, basking under the sun. They have a short menu, but still varies dishes between appetizers, entree and salads. We got lobster roll, fish tacos and their new item, lollipop lamb chops. All the items were to the mark. Fish taco was filled with several toppings and spicy mayo, giving it so much flavor and taste. Lamb lollipops were 3 pieces, all cooked to perfect temperature. Through out the dinner we had marvelous service, everyone at the restaurant is super friendly.

I attended a conference after-party at this venue. The rooftop was packed with party-goers on a gorgeous evening. I meandered indoor and outdoor spaces whilst taking in the views, which were average as NYC rooftop venues go. The bar was ample and the hand passed food was delicious.

Amazing place for brunch. We had made a reservation for 2 beforehand. Cause when we went there last time they were full and there was a huge wait time. On a Saturday morning we went there , had mimosas, eggs Benedict and fried chicken sandwich both the dishes were excellent and a mimosa can never go wrong. In dessert we tried bread pudding which was outstanding. Not to forget there is a good view of Empire state from here 😍

Don’t come this rooftop. Host male on Thursday night around 9.00 pm has the worst attitude. Waiter’s not friendly and disdainful eyes. Unfortunately rooftop’s nice view. but have a lot better than this.

Great atmosphere and drinks. Stopped in here during the holidays and was impressed with the decor and general atmosphere of the location and rooftop. Have heard many good things about this lounge def will be coming back during non seasonal times.

Refinery Rooftop has a great view of Empire State Building with indoor and outdoor seating. During winter months a marquee is set up outside allowing for extra seating whilst staying warm. Has a good selection of food and drinks that are served fairly quickly. Atmosphere is good however, I visited on a weekday in November so I suspect it is a very lively place on the weekend.

This place is Dope. It has retractable ceilings for the Summer. It's the Kind of place that gives new york It's classic feels. The espresso martini was amazing. The ambience was amazing. Maybe come here in the winter or summer. But summer is probably better sooo... there's that. Anyhow.

I had a really good time here and it's super beautiful. Unfortunately when I went it was raining but I enjoyed what I had to eat and the drinks were amazing. When I was there they had frozen apparel spreads and it was awesome! I don't even like apparel but that drink was insane ❤️❤️❤️!!! For vegans the hummus is pretty good

HIGHLY RECOMMEND =D 5 STARS ***** Me and my wife celebrated her birthday at this beautiful and fantastic spot! It's an absolute gem of a place in NYC. What made it even better was how fantastic the team was, they gave us the best seat in the house, looking at the Empire state building, and also we were very attentive. They even gave us a little sweet treat at the end of the meal with a candle ^_^; thank you so much for helping make my wife's birthday a fantastic experience. Cheers! not cheap.... but HIGHLY RECOMMEND =D 5 STARS *****

Solid 4. Came here for lunch on Friday, did not have a reservation but still got seated right away. The service was great, everybody was very friendly. Three different people came to check how we were doing. The food was average, pizza was kind of sweet and the salad had a lot of dressing. Would come back to try the drinks and for the view!

My GF and I went here last night. Our server (Dillon) was great, the cocktails were tasty and the ambiance was cool. The food was pretty good also. We really enjoyed it and would recommend it for a casual but nice night out

Had pre booked our table, very busy for a Tuesday night, great views of the Empire State Building. Went to have dinner but have to say very limited menu and over priced for what you got, definitely paying for the views. Lots of people taking photos in front of you while trying to eat your dinner, the security guard did tell one customer to go back inside as she must have taken about 100 photos of herself. Would recommend this place for drinks.

For starters, it’s always a first for anyone if they’ve never experienced the after-work hour crowds that flock to these absolutely sensational rooftop lounge bars for a quick bite of dinner and cocktails to boot. This restaurant & bar scene is located on the 13th floor of the building. A reservation is a must should you choose a table to accommodate your party or instead choose to wade it out with the front line at the entrance. There are two sections once upstairs. Those tabled “with reservations” requiring a deposit, and those closest to the bar and outside patio, free-standing room only “without any seating.” Now the noise level is rather high. And literally talking at a normal decibel won’t cut it unless you’re words are mincemeat by conversations zooming from everywhere in this packed space. Great stuff—including the cleverest concept cocktails on this side of the Mexican border. Now, the appetizers are pretty scrumptious and tasty, though once you get around ordering a main entree it kind of loses it’s flavor and fizzles out, like the Lobster Atoll roll and ‘pommes frites’ rustiqua avec Sel de la Mer, sprinkled on top! Delicious to a point but, messier eating than by its colorful plated presentation. Once several rounds wound down the evening into night, the tab came rolling around. Quite a bit from generally eating at the average Midtown places that are half the price or less dramatically geared to outpace the average Schroeder. In any event, it’s a beautiful spacious indoors with great views and gobs of people from everywhere but here it seems they’re mainstay is milling about ‘shmoozing’ doing business and always in good company as it were. Along with piping the hot tunes up to shake that thing on a dance floor, number. Just great music! Pleasurable (and awfully fun) for partying with the hobnob in-crowds here on a Thursday night! Just perfective re-finery. Obviously there’s nothing quite like this found on the Left Coast since the lockdowns loosened businesses. Maybe L.A.? More so than San Francisco or Seattle’s abysmal downtown core. Which, up until now suffers from its never-ending drug-infested urban areas … how nothing changes that blight. But thank goodness for places like NYC — hallelujah ! Where even it’s own wider classed denizens can enjoy every luxury that no place on Earth the planet offers … Well, sort of … most of the time. Really. There’s Dubai ... But that’s the point—Where else is there?

The atmosphere was pretty calm and elegant. The rooftop didn’t have a wide view, it only allows you to see Empire State Building, but it was good enough. Even though the service team wasn’t friendly, seats were uncomfortable, and the menu was limited, we had really good time. The food was tastier than what we expected.

Great atmosphere and decor. The views are amazing also! The drinks are pretty good but a little pricey (which is expected, given the location). Service is a bit slow but it doesn’t matter much if you’re planning to stay a while. Tables are not too hard to come by.

I only had dinner here, did not stay here so can't opine on rooms,. But good, staff and ambiance was just perfect. We had empire state building in the back drop. It was a cold winter night but outdoor heaters did the truck to keep us comfortable. Staff is the best!

A really beautiful rooftop, with great music, fun vibes and strong drinks. The bartenders are usually fun and talkative as well. Would recommend as a friends’ spot vs a date spot.

10/10 on the vibe check, this is a very gramable location if that’s what you’re looking for. All the food we ordered was very good. The drinks felt a little TOO overpriced, but they tasted good and they were a good pour. This is why 4 stars…It looks cute but the couches are a little too low and deep for me, and at that eye level the lighting from underneath the bar is a little glaring. The metal chairs were rustic cute but also super uncomfortable. The table was straight up broken, like the cross section at the bottom was split in half. The roof is also in need of repair. It was raining and we did get dripped on. But service was great and so was the food!

Great place! Solid food, friendly and efficient service. The ambiance is great. The music is good, a mix of newer pop hits. Almost feel DJ curated. Excellent view of the Empire State Building, come ready to take a picture with it! Very cozy seating area in the back. Perfect for a date or get together with friends.

Loved this place!!! We went for brunch on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and sat outside with views of the Empire State Building in the background. The ambiance was great and waitstaff were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

I was thoroughly disappointed with this place. Was highly recommended to my friends and I, who are here on vacation and were super excited to eat in a beautiful restaurant with great ambience. When we first arrived we were put on a wait list which was no issue at all especially since we walked in with no reservation and would take any table possible. The hostess wasn’t the kindest of people and honestly didn’t seem enthusiastic to be there. When we came back for our table a manager (I believe since he was the only one in a suit) was at the hostess stand as well and had no welcoming attitude and in fact seemed a little fed up with us when we asked if they had a garbage to throw our drink containers out. We sat down at an absolutely beautiful spot and were very happy but the service we got is what lacked. The bussers were quite attentive and honestly were the best service we had all night. We waiting a while for drinks, which was expected as it was busy, though they were quite good. The waitress was informative but was barely around and our empty dinner plates were left on the table for maybe 20 minutes after we had packaged them up to go. When she definitely has time to come back more often as I saw her standing at the bar most of the time doing cutlery. For such a beautiful and high rated place I expected a little bit more of an experience as even our waitress barely spoke to us and like I said earlier was not attentive at all. The next issue we had was then going to the bathroom where the first one I walked into didn’t lock, and didn’t have toilet paper. I was about to go to the next bathroom over when I watched the ( what I believe) manager walk out of the bathroom I then walked into, there was once again no toilet paper. My friend was in another bathroom/stall and she said it stank like urine and was left a mess. I also witnessed him on his phone many times and had no interactions with any tables. Again not sure if he was truly the manager but since he was in a suit and many employees were asking him questions, one can only assume. We all had amazing meals but are utterly disappointed with the service we received today especially for a rooftop restaurant in New York nobody had any customer service or sense of excitement to be there. As a server myself, I truly believe this place could have been 5 stars if we had received better service, and maybe more energy? I never write reviews but I was quite upset after tonight. For those excited to come here I would only come for the food and ambiance and not expect a great service.

Probably one of the best views in the city. If you're looking for a fantastic photo op with the Empire State Building this is it! Great atmosphere and good drinks. You have to order food to be able to sit in the balcony area I think but you have a clear view and can take great pictures even if you don't. The staff, including the hotel staff, were friendly and helpful. Clean restrooms with an attendant. It's somehow both not as fancy and more laid back than you expect while being better than you expected.

Nice place for a group comfortable with sharing plates and everything we tried was tasty - even the veggie sliders were very flavorful. Decent liquor selection and good cocktails. Service was a little slow but it was very busy and not too bad. Pleasant atmosphere even being so busy, like being in a garden on a roof. Loud, lively music started eventually (possibly 8 or 9pm) and it felt more club-like.

This beautiful rooftop restaurant has a lovely view, amazing drinks and delicious food. During the winter and due to covid the outside had a plastic cover with the heaters it was very comfortable. The establishment is beautiful. I highly recommend the blueberry old fashioned.

The food was great, maybe a little overpriced for the serving size. And service was quick and friendly. It’s a beautiful restaurant but we got put at the worst table in the place, hence the 4 stars. I got the Paloma to drink and it was delish. Would have ordered every cocktail on the list but I’ll just have to go back.

Everything was really good. We loved the spinach dips and the double patty burgers. Thank you guys for the service and bringing a Prosecco to the table to celebrate my special night. My only concern was the sangria that was SUPER overpriced. I’ve never been to a place where the sangria was more than $50 the pitcher, but this time I was caught by surprise for $85 for a pitcher of red wine sangria. It was a super simple sangria, good, but totally overpriced. The whole menu was okay when it comes to the price, but not to the sangria. But besides that everything else was super nice.

Warm rustic interior, great food and awesome cocktails. I was there with friends from the UK and they loved the place. The additional bonus was the view of the Empire State Building with its beautiful red and green colors, special for the holidays.

Food is AMAZING, especially the spinach dip appetizer. It’s a must try here. I got the mimosa and it is also amazing. The view and vibe of this place was perfect. Music wasn't overpowering and bartender was attentive and responsive. I will return when visiting the city.

To be honest with you, as a rooftop bar this is highly overrated. I booked a table through open table based on a number of recommendations from my work colleagues as I am from out of town and wanted to have a happy hour with an amazing view of the New York City skyline. I was very disappointed that from my table I could not actually see the skyline, which was the whole reason I came. This place has three seating areas, there's one area that is pretty much indoors, one that could be indoors in the winter but has one side of doors open with a partial glass ceiling, and then a fully open outdoor area. My party of two was seated in the middle area and when I asked if we could be seated outside the host stated that those tables were available for larger party reservations only. I feel this was misleading and should've been stated when I made the reservation, that I would not actually be on the patio. Also, because of the way my two person table was situated, my partner could not see any of the skyline. I was only able to see the skyline for a few minutes when I walked to the outside area. As a regular bar, it's great, 4/5 stars. There is a wide variety of drinks, although I wish there were a few more with whiskey that had a bit more strength. The apricot smash was good and the pomegranate martini was excellent. There rose spritz was a little sweet for me. The quinoa and kale salad with steak (GF) was surprisingly good, and the dill dipping sauce that came with the tater tots was also excellent. My partner enjoyed the hamburger and chips, so I would check this place out for drinks and food but know you may not be able to enjoy the view. Also there are no happy hour specials and brunch menu does not have GF items.

Came here for brunch. Nice view to the Empire State Building. Had bloody marry was good. Chicken wings, shishito peppers, burgers were good. I didn’t like much my eggs Benedict thought. But place is nice.

Such a great location and aesthetic. Everyone working there was polite and friendly. Service was pretty good though it was somewhat busy. Cocktails were fantastic and appetizers were delicious. Definitely suggest making a reservation and stopping by here for happy hour! Now for my standard COVID comments as of January 2023. Not many people are wearing masks anymore. Pretty crowded but not too bad if you get an isolated table. They also have an outside option I believe.

Went here for lunch on a stormy 4th of July, which is also happens to be my daughter’s birthday, to celebrate. The glass enclosure kept us dry but still allowed beautiful ambience and views of the Empire State Building. The space is truly beautiful, comfortable and inviting. Service was excellent from host/hostess, bartender, waitstaff and bus people. They brought out a birthday dessert for my daughter with a sparkler candle knowing we were celebrating. Food and drinks were outstanding. We had the truffle and yucca fries- both were great, sliders, shrimp tacos, meatballs. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. All great things which led to a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend Refinery Rooftop.
